Having oversized screen in macbook and can't fit it again in 13', how can I soon out it?
need help, my wife macbook 13'got an oversized screen and we unable to fit it again to real display size (13') how to fix it please?
Go to System Preferences>Universal Access and see if the Zoom feature is on. If so click it to off. It can also be turned on or off by hitting the Option+Command+8 keys.
To prevent this being accidentally activated in the future go to System Preferences>Keyboard>KeyboardShortcuts>Universal Access and uncheck all the boxes.

Slow macbook and can't figure out why...
I have a white mac book 2.1 intel core duo that has always been slow. It seems the drive is almost always reading and the beach ball comes up all the time. I originally thought it was the drive and I replaced it, but it does the same thing still. It's so slow that typing in google search often gets stuck. Almost everything I try to do on it gets the beachball.
Its only got 1gb of ram but it seems more broken than that. I've updated everything, run Onyx, replaced the drive.. still slow. I do watch a lot of Netflix streaming on this computer, could that have something to do with it? And Ideas would be greatly appreciated.Hey isactobot,
1GB of RAM isn't nearly enough for Snow Leopard. Head to Crucial.com and use their memory scanner tool to see what kind of RAM you need and how much RAM you can install. You can buy from crucial.com, newegg.com, Other World Computing (http://macsales.com) or a number of other websites.

I want to transfer an audiobook and a movie from my MacBook Pro to my iPhone 4S, and can't figure out how. I went to "Help" and it said after connecting the two devices I should "Click Apps," but I can't find anything labeled "Apps" to click. Help?!!
If you have iTunes 11 on your Mac then you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S, that might make it easier to navigate.
Connect the phone to your Mac and select it on that left-hand sidebar, and on the right-hand side of the screen there should be a series of tabs which you can use to select what to sync to the phone. If it's an audiobook then it should appear on the Books tab for selecting/syncing, and films will be on the Movies tab. When you've got the audiobook on your phone you should get an Audiobooks option in the Music app (you might need to tap the '...' tab at the bottom of the Music app to see it). -
I filmed several takes of the same scene for a movie. I trimmed the best clips from each take and put them into the project screen. However, I can't figure out how to make it flow seamlessly as one scene. Can someone please help me??

If your computer is on one minute before it freezes, than you have one minute to secure your serial number.
click the apple----->click about this Mac ------> click on version----> until you see the serial number. You may have to do this a couple of times if it freezes before you have all the numbers. A camera might help.

Try rebooting the ipad by pressing and holding the on/off and home buttons simultaneously until the screen goes blank and you see the apple logo. It should take about 10-15 seconds to reboot.

When i select the "Full Screen" option in video streams (like youtube, veoh, anything like that) i can do that one(1) time second(2nd) time the screen goes blank and can only exit it with the escape(Esc) button and then i have to restart firefox and again i have my one "Full-screen Ticket"
I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6. -
I am getting message from MacPro that my start up disc is full - but I can't find this "start up disc" and can't figure out what to do to help situation. I've been making a number of imovies, which generates junk files and material that I should toss in the trash, but it is not clear to me what items I can toss and which items I can't toss. Can you help? Using the imovie "help" support the system showed me under the menu item "go" where the "start up disc" should be - but that wasn't actually available on my menu! Thanks for your help!

Backup, clone, use TimeMachine, use another drive for your projects and movies, replace and upgrade the internal drive even. -
My dad has dementia - does not remember his password. His hard drive has been erased. We need to reload Mountain Lion and can't figure out how to do it. Internet recovery asks for his Apple ID and password. He has no idea. I have an Apple ID but have never bought anything through the iTunes store so it won't accept my Apple ID. I don't know if his computer is under warranty. He does not remember if he has Applecare. I tried reinstalling Leopard -- the computer originally came with Leopard -- but the computer screen goes grey and a message comes up saying I need to restart. He wants to give this computer to me since it's useless to him. What do I do to get a system on it again?
You will need to reformat the hard drive to go back to Snow Leopard or Leopard.
Does he have a Snow Leopard Disk? He should, as there is no way to go from Leopard to Mountain Lion without it. If you can find the Snow Leopard Disk, I'd at least start with that.
You will need to use Disk Utility in the installer to format the hard drive and get rid of the recovery partition.
Boot from the installer disk by holding down the C key on restart. When it boots, Open Disk Utility (Utilities menu, at least in Snow Leopard).
Select the Hard drive and then click the Partition tab.
Select 1 Partition from the partition menu.
Select Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as the format.
Name the drive (Macintosh HD is the standard).
Click Apply to partition the drive.
When it is done, quit Disk Utility and install the OS. -
While I was trying out the voice over option on my phone I somehow put it in a mode to where the screen stays black and it will only talk to me. How do I get it back to normal?

Stuck in Bootcamp Windows install and can't get out
late 2009 iMac with Mavericks with homemade fusion drive with super drive removed.
Was working fine until i tried to use bootcamp to install Windows 7. Now I'm stuck in the Windows partition, windows won't install and can't get out of the loop. Machine boots white screen with no apple logo and chimes. Eventually has black screen with No bootabe device -- insert boot disk and press any key. I have a USB drive. I've tried everything. Doesn't seem to be recognizing bluetooth keyboard. No sort of button combination on startup works. Tried holding X, command-alt PR, shift, command-R, option. Tried everything. Light doesn't come on on keyboard in startup which means it's probably not recognized. Tried disconnecting internal drives and booting from USB. Tried booting from Time Machine USB drive. Nothings works. Think a USB keyboard would solves this?I have gotten in this loop. When doing this kind of thing, a usb keyboard would be good to have around, and that is probably the problem, because when I would boot, the first time set the windows partition to the default drive. Hold the key combo and boot into OSX, and go into Settings/Startup Disk/ and change it to The osx hd.

You could go hunting for a fair price on a refurbished or restored Intel-based Mac or MacBook, as most early models of CoreDuo and Core2Duo can run Snow Leopard 10.6.8, and some much more recent.
The Apple Store's Special Deals section that is online has some fairly recent examples of hardware with an OS, original accessories as noted, power cord, and complementary one year coverage. Eligibility for extended AppleCare plans are noted & may be available for various items in the store. Subject to availability. Refurbished. Like new. The price difference can be about the same as the additional two year AppleCare plan may cost, so get that too.
Third party repaired restored or available through other channels vary in quality, quantity, condition, and may be lacking in some or most original accessories; they should include basic hardware as originally equipped and have the boot-install software disc set as intended for that build model & year specification, included.
Auction sites rarely have that much of a kit together, w/ missing discs, scruffy, extra fees, etc. On the other hand, companies that restore and repair Macs for a living and are authorized Apple service centers may have something, if you aren't in the market for something holiday new or really quick. Older models if reasonably refurbished can still shine years later.

You will need to map the "Expression Pedal" to the Waa pedal. There are several ways you could do it, here's one:
In Layout Mode, add a Pedal Screen control, and Assign it to the in-coming MIDI from the GiO.
In Edit mode, select the Screen Control, and click the "Map Parameter" button. While this is active click on the Wah pedal in the PedalBoard plugin. Turn off 'Map Parameter".

I rented a movie and can't figure out how to play it. It does not appear in my movies and does not have a play button on the main movie screen.
This should help. Presumably you have not tried to move your movie to some other device as it can only be on one device at a time. Also, presumably you allowed it to finish downloading.

When I open iTunes it will automatically go to full screen mode. I can't work out how to turn this off. Only iTunes opens to full screen mode.
Go to System Preferences (under the Apple logo in the menu bar). Choose "General". Click "Always close windows when quitting an application".
That should fix it. -
Photos on iPad and iPhone as Events that i have already deleted in iPhoto and can't find out how to delete?!
I had an album on my iPad that didn't have a delete option. I was able to finally remove everything by connecting the iPad to iTunes and going to the Photos tab. Select sync photos. It will ask you if you want to replace all photo on iPad with sync photos. Apply the setting and then un-sync photo again. It will then remove all photos on iPad starting with a clean slate.
Be sure to backup all your photos before doing this. Hope that helps.
