having problem downloading epub books onto mobile device (ipad & iphone) due to adobe server issue, please advise

Hi Gautham
Reference to your question, I'm not using Adobe Digital Edition to download and sync to my iPad.
I am trying to download the epub book to my Overdrive app (which is authorize to download epub books) on my iPad to read.
Reply from Overdrive mentioned that this is Adobe server issue.
Any advise anyone??

  • Hi I am having problems downloading and updating apps on my iPad and iPhone. The message cycles between waiting and loading then I get an error message saying unable to download app. Eventually, after many attempts it works.

Hi Guys - for a few days I have been having problems downloading and updating apps on my iPad and iPhone. The message cycles between waiting and downloading then eventually says unable to download app. Sometimes after many attempts it wil eventually work. I tested it on an old iPhone 3G and got the same problem so it is not an iOS 5 issue. My WI-FI connection is working fine. I was wondering if this is an App Store problem? Anyone else in the UK having this problem?

    Hi John
iTunes Support wasn't of any use to me.
I have also been having another problem - with BBC iPlayer and other video streaming not working due to insufficient bandwidth, despite my overall download speed being consistently around 50Gb.  This is also affecting AppleTV downloads
I am using Virgin Media as my ISP, and was wondering whether you do as well.  This might be the common thread.

  • Best program for monitoring and blocking internet use on my kids mobile devices, iPads, iPhones from my MAC

Whats the best program for monitoring and blocking internet sites and usage for my kids on their mobile devices ipads, iphones and ipods, all from my desktop mac?

Can't be done from your Mac remotely.
But you can enable parental controls directly on iOS devices.

  • Download epub books onto ipad

How do I down load epub books (times bookstore) onto ipad?

Bernd is right, I couldn't see the website either. Further, the Adobe reader does not support the e-pub format. A google search for "epub ipad" turns up a number of potential results. I haven't tried any of these, so I'm hesitant to recommend one in particular and I'd recommend doing a similar search.

The book downloads, but I get an error message saying it is in a format not supported by ibooks.

You can use  Documents To Go and QuickOffice Pro HD apps.  When you open the email attachment you will have an option of where to open the attachment. Select the app you want.

So, assuming you are not, what version of OS X do you have?

Back up all data before proceeding.
    Step 1
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and test.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
Log out, log back in, and test. If there's no improvement, continue.
    Step 2
    Reset your computer’s PRAM.

  • Problems downloading Kindle books

I have owned my Kindle paperwhite for a year but I have recently started having problems downloading books. In the past I have always downloaded books to my Mac and then transferred to my Kindle via usb.  However, in the past month or so some books download properly, but some do not. When the books download properly they have a .awz file name, e.g. Alice in Wonderland.awz but for the books that don't download, they either just download as FSDownload (no title at all) or sometimes the title of the book but no .awz e.g. just as Alice in Wonderland.
I suspect it might have something to do with my software because when I tried downloading the same books on a PC, they showed up fine with the .awz file.  I think this problem coincides with when I installed Mavericks.
I have contacted Amazon customer service and we tried all sorts of things and none of them worked.  Finally, the customer service people suggested I try here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Heather,
Today I discovered I'm having the same issues... I own an older version Kindle and always buy online, download to my Mac and then transfer the file by USB.  However today I tried for 3 books and the first one was not a problem.  The 2 others would not download with the correct file - its just an empty page with the title FSDownloadContent.
This link sort of helped:  http://www.amazon.com/forum/kindle%20customer%20service%20q%20and%20a?_encoding= UTF8&cdForum=Fx1GLDPZMNR1X53&cdThread=Tx1YPISXRX8YOGC
    basically Paul Bramer says:
    1. I deregistered my Kindle for Mac ("Manage Your Kindle>Manage Your Devices")
    2. I REMOVED the app from my computer.
    3. I downloaded the latest version of Kindle for Mac (Department: Kindle>Kindle Free Reading Apps>...) and followed the install directions. (btw, I learned that Amazon has no system for alerting us to app upgrades!! Hard to believe with all the account info they have.)
    4. I opened the newly downloaded app. It repopulated with all my archived and downloaded books, included the "problem" book.
    5. When I tried to open the problem book, I got the same message, ""The book could not be opened. Please remove the book from your device and redownload it"...but wait...
    6. I removed the book (from my downloads folder) by deleting it.
    7. I went to the Archives where it was still listed (I didn't need to resend it to the Kindle for Mac app but perhaps that would be a needed step for some). I clicked on the title, it downloaded and...ta da...the book OPENED.
Hope this saves somebody the hour it took me :). If the problem does in fact lie with an out-of-date app, Amazon owes us the courtesy of alerting us to app upgrades (and making an easier upgrade path).
HOWEVER, it lets me open the books on my computer using Kindle for Mac but still won't let me transfer it with a working file to my actual kindle!  So not a great fix since I want to read the kindle not my computer on the beach!
Hopefully someone else out there has a solution...?
    thx

  • We have 1 computer and 2 nook colors. Only able to transfer books onto 1 device. please advise

we have 1 computer and 2 nook colors. Only able to transfer books onto 1 device. please advise

First, it's protocol to post an issue only once on the forum.  You posted
    twice....
I read the other thread, and there are a couple of messages being
displayed.  So, let me go through them also in this post.
One of the messages was 'no permission to copy here'.  That message tells
you that there is copy protection in place for that particular ebook.  The
publisher has specified that you can't copy the ebook to another device.
This is digital rights management in action, and there's nothing further
that you can do legally to make this go away.
Another message relates to whether a device was authorized.  The process
for setting up an ereader involves going to the website for that ereader
and registering the device.  When you do that, the site will download a
small file with that information onto the ereader, and ADE reads that
file when you attach that ereader to ADE.  If the device wasn't registered,
ADE won't be able to work with it and gives this message.
We have a small dilemma here.  It's much easier to register all of
the ereaders with your Adobe ID, because ADE won't have this problem if
you do.  But that's not practical because you want to have each ereader
with its own ID.  So, ADE gives you the ability to switch ADE users by
deactivating one user ID and then change to another user ID.  That process
is described in the HELP files of Digital Editions.
Don't forget the maximum number of two computers and four ereaders, however.
    Hope this helps!

  • There was a problem downloading this book.

I just bought a book, and 4 free classics, and none of them will download. The blue bars fill up on all of them, but then the "There was a problem downloading this book" dialog comes up, and gives me the option of retrying now or later. I tried redownloading them, but this also creates an error dialog. Is there a way to clear out the half downloaded books and try again?

There is basically only one solution- to contact iTunes via the iTunes Store and then you can tell them that there was an error downloading the books and then they can send you a different copy to your computer. Here is how you do this:
    -Open iTunes
    -Go into the iTunes Store
-Click on your account on the top right corner and sign in
    -Click on 'Purchase History'
-Scroll to the bottom and press 'Report a Problem'
    -Click on the purchase date
-Select the item(s) you were having a problem with
    -Tell Apple about the problem.
Believe me, I know that it is a pain. The same thing has happened to me before, however Apple responds pretty quick and they are very good about resolving the issue.

    Try This...

Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

    If no joy...
    Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
