Having problem playing songs in itunes

it has been a while that my iTunes is not functioning normally when i play songs in my library as well as playing songs from my ipod (via computer). at the end of each songs, around 5 seconds with no sound will be left freezed and the new song following suddenly starts in the name of the last song. then the song will be played like cd scratch for like 15 seconds and will sound smooth again when the current song's name appear and the time bar shows that the song has been played for around 17 seconds.
what's wrong with this .... need urgent help coz im so frustrated with this
the latest version is already installed. and i'm having no idea what's wrong because it used to function very well until now

I'm having almost the exact same problem. It started when I downloaded version 7.2.0.34, about a week ago. I don't have "fade" enabled, so mine just does it at the beginning of every few songs. It's a horrible sound, I have to hit pause then play again to get it to stop.
I'm sure its yet another "compatibility" issue with iTunes and Windows. Do these guys not have a single PC in the building they can try these new releases out on?
I have 2 gigs of ram, I'm not fragmented.

Help, I am having problems syncing songs from itunes to my ipod.

I am having great difficulty in trying to sync purchased songs from itunes music store to my ipod.
I have just registered my ipod to my home computer after having it originally registered on a friends computer. Now on my own computer I have purchased 14 songs and have tried to sync them onto my ipod. However it keeps coming up with a message that my computer is not authorized to play them. Therefore its not copying onto my ipod.

I'll wager that you have a second account that you forgot about. Fire up iTunes but do not log on to your account. Try to play one of the problem songs. A popup window will appear asking you to authorize your computer for that account.

Sounds to me like iTunes lost track of your music. You should probably search your computer for the files, and then add them back to your library (oh, and when you do that, you should delete the old library entry, unless you like duplicates.)

I can no longer play songs on iTunes using Win 8 PC

When I click to play a song from iTunes on my Windows 8 PC it just appears to hang. I can no longer preview songs from the iTunes Store either, no sound comes out and the bar stays on 0:00. This was working fine in the past, not sure what changed. Now I'm afraid to try and synch my iPod and iPhone to the PC since as of now these other devices are working fine. Help!

Update: After having problems playing audio and video using several different browsers and apps, I realized that the problem was probably not iTunes or Apple related. I rebooted several times, to no avail, but the last reboot inexplicably seemed to do the trick. Everything is working OK again, at least for now. Weird but I'll take it!

Sometimes when I play songs in Itunes by double clicking on them, Itunes will place the song as the first one on the album. It will chnage the order of the songs on the album, and I can not switch them back to the correct order.

If I just hit play, this doesnt happen. As a result, I have several albums now in which the songs are in the wrong order. Its very frustrating, as this error then transfers over to my ipod every time I sync it. When I choose the info. for the songs, it has them correctly listed (i.e., it lists the songs as being #1 of 19 on the CD, for example). But then the song will have placed by Itunes as #5 of 19 for whatever reason. Itunes does not do this every time, but does it with enough frequency to be maddening. Any thoughts?

The problem of tracks becoming de-linked between iTunes and the music files in your iTunes music folder happens for different reasons - this seems to come up fairly commonly in this forum.
The solution can be to locate each song in the iTunes library, as you mentioned - or, but wait, before I get to that...
trouble finding the original track in your iTunes music folder? maybe look for it under compilations, or if not using the 'group compilations preference' then look in the folder under the songs artist name, but what song artist name iTunes uses depends on what you have in the metedata tag spot for album artist or song artist. Any varyation in artist name spelling, in the menu item 'get info' metadata for any selected individual track will cause iTunes to create that as a separate artist folder in the library, even names like 'various' or any difference at all (even the word 'the' can change where in your iTunes music folder a track gets placed by iTunes). You can try to use the finder function of find file (finder munu item outside of iTunes) to locate hard to find items.
Back to how to re-link any de-linked tracks .
There may be scripts that can help re-link de-linked music files - or, at least provide you a list of such files, Scripts are easy to install and use...

I have the same problem, but discovered I can 'gift' itunes. I can't update my itunes version because my operating system doesn't support it and I can't update my operating system because my laptop is too old. 2008. have rebooted, retried, done all I can think of... still not working. Waiting for I support to respond.

Audio cuts out at random while playing songs in itunes

While playing songs in itunes audio will frequently drop out completely across the entire system. The song will still be in play mode but the track progress indicator doesn't move. There's no slowdown or spinning beachballs, activity monitor doesn't indicate any processes hogging resources, and there are no other noticeable effects other than zero audio output. The problem resolves temporarily if I pause itunes then click the volume up/down keys and click play again. Any clue as to how I might resolve this annoying issue?

On pc and mac it's fine but on all my iOS devices, the album artwork, title and artist info is missing; however, the song plays. I've uploaded photos of my granddaughter to iCloud Drive on my 5 year old PC and can see the content on my PC at iCloud .com - though the system does not allow me to see minimised photos, just lots of numbered, blue rectangle icons. I spent over 2.5 hours with Apple Support yesterday and they could NOT resolve the issue in any straightforward manner, though did suggest I go through the same time consuming uploading process placing the same photos in the Beta version of 'Photos' available at iCloud.com. What a cumbersome system. Why hasn't Apple offered an iCloud Drive app (free of charge) so that once content has been placed in iCloud Drive it can Bev retrieved on any iOS device, as Apple suggest. I had a similar problem: I wanted to synch my playlist to my iphone. I like to have my playlist sorted by genre. But under each genre, albums are not sorted by the track numbers. This is a problem, especially when I am listening to club mixes when the DJ smoothly transitions from 1 track sequentially to the next one. Under the properties of each audio file, the Track Numbers and Disc Numbers are already there.
My perfect solution was to turn On Sorting - Sort Album under View>Show View Options. Then, select all the songs in that album (Shift click, Cmd click, etc) , and Edit multiple item information (Cmd I). You will see Info-Video-Sorting-Options buttons. Click on Sorting. Then, under Sort Album, Enter the name of the album. Then OK.
You should now have the playlist sorted by Genre, then each album individually sorted by track numbers. On your playlist you should see, if you scroll right, the column added called "Sort Album".

Just recently, my computer started freezing when I play songs through iTunes. I also have had this same issue. In reading your reply, I've also saved my CD diagnostics....they are included below. I'm fairly convinced that my problem lies in the drive. It is causing WM Player to lockup as well. Please help....thanks.

If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.

I'm having problems playing content on Apple TV

I am having problems playing content on Apple TV. I have home sharing turned on and I can browse to my music, photos, and videos. After I play a video or two, I am unable to play any more. Once it stops, I am also unable to play any music or display any photos. However, I am able to go to my laptop and play the exact same content through Airplay and have it display on the screen. After I either reboot the Apple TV or my computer or stop and restart iTunes, I am able to play a couple more until it happens again.

When I first started using the app, the volume was tuned to the minimum setting. I had to click on the picture to slide the volume over to right. Did you try that?
