Having problem with Ipad Air battery?

when I was watching Youtube, my Ipad Air ran out to 3% battery, then I plugged in the charger. It showed charging but it still shut down because out of battery. It's never happened to my Ipad 2

I know this may have already been resolved by the above person but I just found out some information that may help some others in the rare event that this may happen to your iPad Air. My battery on mine was draining pretty fast almost 2 months after I got it.  Before that I started to notice the screen had a blue srteak or blob in it when I view a very dark background or picture.  I took to Apple store and discovered that the unit apparently had a leaking polymer cell within the battery its self.  Being under warranty,  Apple replaced mine and the battery is awesome now.  I have the T-Mobile iPad Air 16 gigabyte model.

    Hi,
I have the check box on a second Partition  but not on the Time Machine one
I forget what I did now to get this called "Recovery HD"
For the rest try https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4055  User Tip that links to Pondini's work on Time Machine.

  • I'm having problems with iPad 2 and my smart cover.  The attachment seems to be depolarized and it moves around causing the device to toggle and flash like its coming on or shorting.  Anyone having problems?

I'm having problems with iPad 2 and my smart cover.  The attachment seems to be depolarized, trys to connect using the back (curved) edge of the magnetized bracket.  When I try to attach it, it moves around causing the device to toggle in a way that looks like the camera flash.  Anyone having problems? Help.

Update. My carrier says the antenna of my iPhone 4s is not so good as the one in the iPhone 3G. They can't solve the problem. Their signal is too weak for the 4s at places I spend most of my time. Not the answer I expected, but I'm free to choose an other carrier. Hope this will help.
This was not the correct answer, I accidentially clicked the button..

Having problem with i Pad sync getting pop up message as below. The i Pad cannot be synced because there is not enough space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library (additional 10.03 GB required).  There is enough space be it in PC or on i Pad. Why and What can be done to resolve, please advice appreciate. Thanks

It generally means - just using random numbers for examples - the iTunes on your computer holds 45 gig of content, you have a 16 gig iPad which has 13 gig of free space and the content just won't fit.
Easy solutions. go into iTunes and 'manually manage' your content. I believe this is in the main summary tab for your device (connect your device, click on the icon in iTunes to access controls for your iPad
You may also need to choose to manually control content in both the music and movie tabs.
    Apple - Support - Manuals
the manual will have more specific info for syncing and controlling content

  • Having issues with iPad air.. It's constantly rebooting and giving me a blue screen. Anyone have a solution?

    iPad Air
    operating system ios8.1.3
I've had no success troubleshooting the problem I'm having with my iPad Air. Started after I updated the software to the new version . Once update was complete I encountered my screen looked funny with wiggly lines and then the screen turned blue. I tried to reboot it by holding down the home and the off at the same time but that only turned it off and then back on and the same thing happened all over again. Now my iPad air only continues to reboot when I turn it on. Is it possible for Apple or Mac products to get a virus? I'm hope someone has a solution to this problem I'd like to know if there's anyone else out there that's experiencing this issue with the iPad Air.

This is not a virus. It sounds like it could be a hardware problem.
First, try resetting your device. Press and hold both the home button and the sleep/wake button for about 10 seconds, until the screen turns off. Ignore the slider that will appear. Release the buttons, then press and hold the sleep/wake button until the Apple logo appears. This is the equivalent of a reboot, and should not affect your data or apps.
If that doesn't help, try restoring your device from backups, and if that doesn't help, restore it to factory settings (ie, do not restore a backup). See:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
If none of that helps, the issue is caused by some kind of hardware problem, and the device will need to be repaired or (more likely) replaced.

  • Problems with iPad Air 2 as a music player

I purchased my iPad Air 2 predominantly as a music storage/playing device, to replace my ancient component stereo system.  Within the first 24 hours, I was ready to return it due to the confusing display of music loaded on iTunes compared with the format on our Windows PC (which included a layer of text scrolling on top of another layer of text), and the inability to set up Playlists.  We visited the Apple store where the "Genius" tech resolved the problem by reinstalling the operating system.  Thereafter, the device worked well, driving one Sony speaker or a set of ear buds via Bluetooth, or two Sony speakers simultaneously over our WiFi network.  The sound far exceeded our expectations.  However, after accepting an "update" almost a week ago, the device became "locked" midway through setting up a Playlist, and became unusable for any action in iTunes (except adding every song I attempted to play to the same playlist, with no ability to complete the playlist, or play any music whatsoever).  Also, the original  iTunes display problems were back.  We returned to the Apple store where the same "Genius" tech verified the problem and, believing it was unique to my device, arranged for a replacement.
The replacement (first tried at home) had the same screen problems when using the keyboard that other users have described.  Setting up Playlists was again problematic.  But worst of all, music wouldn't play wirelessly over either of our two speakers, or the ear buds.  So, back to the Apple store, where the technician verified the screen problems, and advised the device would have to be replaced, again.  Unfortunately, they had none in stock.  So, while waiting for a replacement, I'm unable to play music, which means my iPad is sitting, unused. In fact, I've now been "out of service" for my primary use for more than 10 percent of the time I've owned my iPad Air 2, and I'm losing patience.
Surprisingly, the second device did "recognize" the wireless speakers in the Apple store.  But, not our speakers at home.  Can anyone explain why our replacement won't play music over speakers that worked flawlessly with our original iPad Air 2?  Has anyone else had problems with their iPad Air 2 driving speakers or ear buds?

You can't use any iPad as a phone other than using the handoff feature with iOS 8 but you need to have an iPhone in order for that to work anyway. In addition, you have to be on the same WiFi network and signed into the same Apple ID and iCloud account.
Bottom line, you can't use the Air as a standalone phone

  • Anyone else having issues with iPad Air touch screen x y  positioning inaccuracy?

I have a 128GB WiFi Cellular iPad Air with IOS 7.0.3 installed. I have noticed, especially with the Photos app, that where you touch on the screen isnt exactly what is returned by the iPad. For example, if I want to view a photo in a display of a series of thumbnails I have to actually touch the photo to the left of the one I want to view. If I touch the one I want to view, the one to the right expands to full screen. I am hoping this is just a software issue. If not, then this one is going to be returned while I still have time in the initial 30 day window.

Well, I think I figured out the problem. I had a pdf file somehow loaded into the camera roll. All images before the pdf were opening appropriately, but the ones ater that file were always shifted to the right. I deleted the pdf file and now they all open correctly.

  • Email signature problem with iPad Air

I have a signature in my iPad email that is simply my name, a dashed line, then "Sent from my iPad Air".  The problem is when anyone (including me on a different email account) reads an email from my iPad, my name and dashed line are the same font type and size as in the body of my email.  But the last line of my three-line signature, is much larger.  Here's a screenshot:
I have a similar signature in my iPhone 5S but it works just fine.  Here's a screenshot of this signature:
This makes absolutely no sense to me at all.  Both the iPhone 5S and iPad Air have iOS 7, latest updates, and the signatures were typed into the signature box in Settings...not pasted in.  Hopefully, someone has seen this before, but Googling it got me nothing.

No, they're the same.  That's just the way I cut off the screenshot.  I just confirmed that I can can copy/paste my signature into the signature box on my iPad or iPhone and it retains the font, size, etc. of where I copied it from.  It does NOT appear to have retained them, but when I send a test email from the iPad the changed fonts show up.
I'll try clearing the signature box again, though I've done this before, and type in my signature again.  It might work.

  • Having problems with brand new battery installed...Help please!

Here's my problem. I just recently replaced the battery on my 13" Macbook. The brand new battery ordered from Apple arrived on Saturday and up until last night everything was great. Now all of a sudden the computer is doing the same things it did with the old battery. I am getting the green light on the MagSafe Adapter even though the battery is not fully charged. I am also alternating between "Not Charging" on the battery icon and a "X" on the icon.
I did some reading and tried resetting the PRAM and SMC. I even uninstalled Leopard and reinstalled Tiger (updating everything afterwards), thinking maybe it was a software issue. (I just recently installed Leopard and hoped it was just a bad install.) None of that really seems to work.
There is one slight exception- the SMC reset. After I do the SMC reset I get the amber light from the adapter, the icon shows charging and all is well for about 15 to 30 minutes. Then I am back at square one.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas on what could be going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It seems like you have eliminated all the easy fixes for your problem - what is left is the computer itself. Call Apple (800-275-2273) and explain the troubleshooting you have already done. They should set up a repair for your computer. If it is out of warranty you may have to pay for the repair.
    Best of luck.

  • Having problem with iPad 2 sound not working

I can plug in my head phones and sound is fine when I unplug there is no sound.
    - I have checked rotation no problems there
    - I have double clicked home button and scrolled over the mute button is not the issue but I realized I do not have a volume glider on the right hand side unless I have headphones in.
    - any suggestions?

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

    Re: Wifi problem
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at
    http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Anyone else having problems with iPad 3 needing to restarted?

This is happening a lot recently with my new iPad! I go to click into something and doesn't register it. The only way for me to get it to act normal is by powering it down and powering it back on. Super annoying especially if I am in a worry to respond to something for work. It wouldn't even recognize the new update until I powered it off and then back on! I so badly want my money back.  Should have just went with gen 2 iPad.

Don't get discouraged, that's not the norm. It's possible the upgrade didn't go as seamless as it should. Try a simple reboot first (hold down the home and sleep buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo) then let it boot. If that doesn't work, try a reset. Once you get it sorted out, you will be very glad you opted for the new iPad as opposed to the iPad2.
