Having problems changing my icloud account on my ipad

Due to changing my primary e:mail i've recently changed my AppleID.
Now on my ipad i'm trying to change my iCloud account to the new one but when i try to delete the old account i get into an endless loop when it asks for my password (to the old account) to allow "find my iPad" to be turned off.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Hi ..
You need to upgrade to Lion v10.7.2 Lion in order to use iCloud. It's not possible to enable iCloud on a Mac running v10.6.x Snow Leopard.

    Hi Maastricht2014,
Until and unless you remember the password to your old email address, you will not be able to access the eBooks as those eBooks are only authorized with your old email address only.
The only workaround or alternative to access your eBooks will be to contact the eBook vendor and ask them to migrate the eBook from your old email to the new one.
    Hope that Helps!

  • How do I change an iCloud account on an iPad?

My iPhone and iPad use 2 distinct iCloud accounts, as a by product of the mobile me exit. Now I want to sync these 2 devices, so they need to use the same iCloud account. When I start to change the iPad account, I receive a dire warning that all data in iCloud and the iPad will be lost if I proceed.
Is the warning untrue, or am I misreading it, or am i going about this incorrectly? How should one change the iCloud account on an iPad to another existing iCloud account? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

It does delete it from you iPad but not from the iCloud account.  If you want to migrate the data to a different iCloud account first go to Settings>iCloud on your iPad and turn all synced data to Off, when prompted choose to keep the data on your iPad.  When everything is turned off you can scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up the other iCloud account on your iPad and turn syncing back on for contacts, calendars, etc. When prompted choose merge to upload the data and merge it with any data on this account.

  • HT4623 How can I change my Icloud account on my ipad to the one I use on my iphone?

How can I change my Icloud account on my ipad to the one I use on my iphone?
For example on my iphone I log in with a yahoo account.  My ipod was originally set up with another e-mail account (which I can't remember the password).  I want to use the yahoo e-mail and the password associated with it to log on to both devices.

Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • HT204053 Anyone have issues changing their iCloud account on their ipad?

I read how to change the iCloud account on the iPad but when I go to do it' it only lets me select the password and iPad name. When we got this iPad it was put under my husband's iTunes and iCloud account. Now I have my own iPhone with an iCloud and he has his own iPad and I would like to associate my iPad with my phone's iCloud but keep his iTunes account since that is where we purchase everything.  So can anyone help?
    Thanks!

  • How do I change my icloud account on my ipad?

I need to change my icloud account on my ipad without losing any data or  photos. How do I do this? At present my ipad is backed up to my ex partners icloud account, can he access my ipad remotely?

Only speaking of backup and not information that you sync/stream to his icloud.
Depending on maliciousness of his intent and determination he/she can know nothing or everything. By everything I mean that he/she can restore his/her ipad from your backup.
In one hour of time he/she would have access to device that would be exact mirror of what you had in your hands at time of backup. With some luck he would know as much as you do looking at your ipad right now. If you using icloud keychain he/she would have access to your credit card numbers.
    Not speaking about backup anymore.
If he/she wants your device can be wiped at any time, as long as he/she is still signed in. He can also enable lost mode on icloud website and then even if you have paperwork that ipad belongs to you, nobody can help you to use ipad. (that is if you use ios 7). Good luck.

  • I want to change the iCloud account on my iPad from mine to my wife's

BUT I get a message saying that if I delete my account it will remove all data from iCloud! Which is not what I want as I want to continue to use my iCloud on my iPhone and remotely.
There is no option in settings for changing the iCloud account, so it looks like you need to delete the one you have in there and set up a new one .

My problem is that when I try to delete (and change) my iCloud account on my iPhone, it wants to delete all the data from my iPhone, which is something I don't want.

  • HT204053 Having trouble changing my icloud account info to new apple id

I changed our apple id a while ago.  Our phones have not been backing up because I have been unsuccessful in changing my apple id under the icloud account information.  Under icloud in settings on my iphone, it still has listed my old apple id.(I tried to get into it but the old apple id and password arent matching up) I touched on the account to try to change my apple id but it is not letting me highlight that section to be able to change it.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi Will_M123,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand you want to get all of your Apple devices on the same iCloud account. Are you receiving some kind of alert when you try to sign out of the iCloud account on the MacBook Pro? Please use the following information as a reference for signing out of iCloud.

  • How can I change my icloud account on my iPad? I

I have trnasferred all the data from my old iPad to my new one. Now I have a problem, It has an old Apple iD with an email address I no longer use. I don't seemt o be able to change this to be able to access my account ont he cloud. What do I need to do?

Are you asking how to delete the one that is currently on the ipad and add/create a new one?
Your icloud user name is associated with your apple id, so would need to clarify.
    to delete your icloud account
    go to settings/icloud/delete account
then just go back and add/create a new one

  • How do I change my ICLOUD  account on an iPad?

Under Settings on my iPad Mini, when I click on iCloud I am showing an Account name.  When I click on the Account line, it takes me to a page that shows my iCLOUD account infomration.  I would like to change the Apple ID used here to one used by a different family member.  Can anyone tell me who to do this???

Yes, it would.  The first time you sync a new device with iTunes it will prompt you to either set it up as a new device or restore from a previous backup.  If you have data on your mini now that you do not want to lose, follow this user tip by wjosten to minimize data loss: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141.  To follow the steps in this user tip go to View>Show Sidebar in iTunes.  Also, Transfer Purchases (step 5) is now under File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
If you have music on your mini that was not purchased from the iTunes store on your iPad Mini it will be removed from it when you sync.  However, if the music is in the iTunes library you are syncing with it will sync back to your device it will simply sync back to your Mini.  If the music isn't in your iTunes library, you'll have to add it in order to sync it back to your Mini.

  • How can I change the iCloud account that my iPad backs up to? I now have two iPads. I want the older to go to a new account and the new one to sync to the original account.

iPad sync to the iCloud account

You have to create a new Apple ID for the new iPad. But you really don't want to do that because them you will have to purchase all of your content again because paid content is always tied to the Apple ID that was used to purchase it originally. You will not be able to download all of your previously purchased content for free.
You can backup multiple iDevices to one iCloud account, I backup my iPod and iPad to one iCloud account. You can always purchase more storage space if you need it. IMO - if you still have a computer - use iTunes. You are only limited by the capacity left on your hard drive when you backup. No need to keep paying for more iCloud storage - again, just my opinion.

  • HT204053 someone hacked and changed my APPLE ID about a month ago, but after calling support and fixing this issue, I'm still having problems with my iCloud account as it is still trying to use the hacked account

Is there someon in support who can help me match these up again?  The hackers just took my account email name and added a number "1" to it and now I can't access icloud!

The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.
