  • I am having problems importing from a DVD or a CD to my Ipod nano via windows 8.  I initially set everything up on a computer with windows 7, and authorized the windows 8 computer as well.  Howevre, the oly thing that comes up on windows 8 is my purchases

    I am having problems importing to my Ipod nano via windows 8.  I usually do this from a windows 7 computer and have had no problems; hoever in windows 8 I can only see items purchased in the Itunes store.  I do not have access to my entire library, which includes song uploaded from CDs and some videos.  As a result, I'm having problems uploading any new items from CDs or DVDs.  The computer with windows 8 is an authorized computer, so I don't understand why I'm having the problem.

  • Having problems importing my .mov file.

    I am having problems importing several .mov files into iMovie. I also can't import .wmv files and I have been utterly confused. I know I have to convert the files but I don't want to pay for a program because I will only be converting 4 files. Please help!

    What is Mpeg Streamclip
    It is a free conversion application that accesses the QT structure and all installed QT components without having to pay the $30 for QT Pro or purchasing GarageBand. It's "engine" is MPEG-based, so it can do some things that QT Pro cannot do ( e.g., retaining audio content when converting multiplexed compression formats). On the other hand, it cannot perform layer operations like QT Pro can so these applications are somewhat complementary.
    and is there anyway you can send me a link to download this program please?

  • Im having problems importing prores files at correct frame rate

    im having problems importing prores files at correct frame rate. they have been converted to prores at 25fps but on importing they appear in fcp as 30fps. any help would be appreciated.

    I don't know anything about Wondershare. But it seems something may have got messed up in the conversion. Or maybe there is an identifier on the converted clip that has FCP confused and it really is 25 fps.
    To begin, your sequence settings don't match your clips. You want a Pro Res sequence. Let FCP set this automatically by dragging a Pro Res to an empty sequence and when gives you a message asking whether you want the sequence to match the clips, click yes. Then hit command 0 again and see whether the frame rate is set at 30 or 25.
    If it really is 30, then it will need to be converted and re-imported. It can be done in Compressor or in Cinema Tools. If you have used Cinema Tools before, great. Of not, I'll defer to others because it's been a while and I don't want to mess you up.
    Good luck.

  • I am having problems importing some CDs into iTunes on a laptop with Windows 8. Most CDs import without problem. The ones I can't import can be imported into iTunes with Windows 7. Does anybody know why this problem is occurring?

    I am having problems importing some CDs into iTunes on a laptop with Windows 8. Most CDs import without problem. The ones I can't import can be imported into iTunes with Windows 7. Does anybody know why this problem is occurring?

    First-off, this seems to be a general problem with 10.4 (across all the operating systems of which I am aware).  Unfortunately, I cannot provide a permanent solution but, if you need a quick fix, this will (hopefully) work for you.
    For some inexplicable reason, iTunes no longer recognises standard Windows paths.  For example:
    Y:\Music\Buddy Holly\Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
    The end result is that it will import a playlist with no content.
    It will, however, recognise the equivalent Apple paths which look like this:
    file://localhost/Y:/Buddy Holly/Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
    It is possible to convert your existing playlists using a few basic replace commands in something like Notepad.  In my case, I made some code changes in my music manager and now generate two sets of playslists (one standard and one to accommodate iTunes).
    Forgive me foir stating the obvious but please remember to make sure that the disk / path containing your music is accessible when doing the import otherwise you will probably get a blank result.  Note that you can do a bulk import by selecting all the (revised) playlists and dragging them onto the iTunes sidebar.
    I am sorry that this is not a "clean" solution but it will work if you are in a bind.  The only alternative of which I am aware is to wait for Apple to fix the problem.

  • Having problem importing midi files.

    Hello everyone,
    I am having trouble importing midi files in GB. Every time I do all I get is a single insrument, and not the whole midi file as it was when I downloaded it. I tried Dent du midi and cant even get that to work. It looks like it is working, but never seperates the tracks. I would really like to be able to pick apart midi files. Anyone have any ideas. This is my first Apple, but I have been a PC Tech for 8 years now. (I Hate PCs, I love the Mac)

    Welcome to the forum. Yes, sometimes these issues occur. Since I am the biggest importer of MIDI files to GB3, I will see what I can do for you.
    First, when you wish to import a MIDI, drag the file onto an empty area (ie no tracks) of the GarageBand window. Hold until you see a + sign. Drop, and you should see the tracks appear.
    How did you obtain the MIDI file? From the Net? How did you save it? What were the steps?
    Do you have Quicktime Pro? Sometimes the way you save a MIDI file will make a difference. You have a choice between "save as movie" or "save as source", and I believe the latter works best.
    Has it worked for other MIDI files? Or is one or two giving you issues? Perhaps if you can post a link to the MIDI file, I can have a look at it.

  • Just started having problems importing photos to LR?!

    For no apparent reason, I developed problems importing images onto LR - everything was working just fine then..
    Get a message:
    "Some operations were not performed.
    Could not copy a file to requested location"
    It itemised every image I am trying to import
    I thought I would upgrade to LR 4 and the problem would go away - it didn't!!
    Ive seen posts about permissions...???
    Can you help?
    Thanks

    Hi Keith - good question - might explain why it has suddenly happened..
    Will get back to you - Thanks Keith.

  • Having problems importing AVI files

    I am getting an error message when trying to import an AVI file.  I converted a whole batch of MOV files to AVI files because when I imported the MOV files into Premier Elements 9 it would only play back the first five seconds of audio on each clip.  Now, only about 4 out of the 20 AVI files will import.  With the other files I get this message "This type of file is not supported or the required codec is not installed."  WHAT THE HECK!!!!!!  They are all the same type of file converted from the same type of file at the same time!  WHY THE HECK will adobe import a few (and play them back fine) and not the rest!  I am seriously in tears.  I HATE  Premier at this point.  All I want is to put our family videos on DVD.  I have spent HOURS just trying to get Premier to recognize the clips.  Seriously?!?

    The main conversion program, that I use, is shareware, DigitalMedia Converter (Deskshare), and I have an older version, 2.7, that has been replaced. My older version cost US$ 49, IIRC.
    For MOV files, I often use Apple's QuickTime Pro, with is an upgrade/unlock, that costs ~US $29.
    With those MOV files, what CODEC is used in them?
    There are certain CODEC's, often seen in the MOV wrapper, that are Mac-specific, and there is no PC version available. The FCP AIC (Apple Intermediate CODEC) is one of those.
    If one has SD (Standard Definition) material, on a PC, the ideal format is AVI, but specifically with the MS DV/DVC CODEC. Those files will Import perfectly, and edit smoothly.
    Now, when it comes to CODEC's, I always recommend finding out the exact CODEC needed, and then downloading and installing only that/those. I always try to go "to the source" for my CODEC's, and will pay for a commercial CODEC from the originator, rather than install some free version of it. I also shun any CODEC "packs," as many can cause all sorts of problems.
    Please let us know what the CODEC/CODEC's is/are, and then perhaps we can offer a bit more direction.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Having problem importing scanned jpgs from ScanCafe

    I had some old pictures scanned by company called ScanCafe.  When loading to LR 5.4 it will load but when you click the thumbnail to develop.  It has an exclamation point and give message, Lightroom has encountered problem reading this photo.  This same picture will not upload to Flickr getting the message This file failed to upload.   But jpg will load in Facebook, SmugMug or Google Photos.   I believe that it is the jpgs the problem, but company is saying its not their jpgs.
    I've attached a link to the jpg picture maybe you can shed light why this jpg cannot be imported to LR 5
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6LiH8v7ilrGM1NMcTZUanRUdFU/edit?usp=sharing

    I am not a real computer tech, so this probably isn't going to be a lot of help to you. I encountered the same problem you did. So I next opened the file in Photoshop, made a slight adjustment in brightness. Then I saved and closed the image. Next, I imported it into Lightroom again and was able to work with it in Lightroom without any of the error messages. It looked the way it did when I finished using Photoshop. I don't know how to tell you to fix it any other way. If you have Irfanview you might try that. Or, if you have Photoshop/Bridge and know how to use the image processor you might batch process images and resave them. Then try working with them in Lightroom. Incidentally, when I first opened it in Photoshop I received a message that the file may be damaged or truncated. But I clicked on the button to continue, and got the results I described.

  • I'm having problems importing a movie from my Panasonic Lumix DCM-ZS1 to iMovie

    Hi, I'm new to mac and I have a Panasonic Lumix DCM-ZS1.
    When I import my movies to iPhoto, the clips play perfectly, but when I try to open them with iMovie, they look very dark. The only solution I've found so far is to open them with Quicktime and export the video as m4v it can be opened in iMovie without a problem. I think it might have to do with a codec or something like that.
    Here's a video of the problem.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juYmsH7nXAw
    Thanks in advance for your answers.

    You don't need the Clip Browser...just get the Log and Transfer plugin and use FCP to import. I have a workflow here, with links to the software you need:
    Tapeless Workflow for FCP 7 Tutorial
    If you use the CLip Browser, you need to use IT to convert the footage to Quicktime, then bring the QT files into FCP.

  • Having Problems importing XML file from FCP 6 onto a FCP 5 application

    I have a project file that i worked on FCP 6 and wanted to move to FCP 5 app. on a different Pro Mac but when i try to import the xml, it prompts me to "Please choose a Translation Document File". I choose the FCP 6 project file because i wasn't sure what to choose and i get the ERROR: No translation templates matching the selected XML file were found. Unable to import this file.
    any ideas?

    make sure you exported your XML from FCP6 using a compatible XML version (1, 2 or 3) ... version 3 would make the most sense as its the most recent FCP5 compatible version .... don't export using version 4 (the default for FCP6), that one is for transfering projects between different installations of FCP6 only

  • Having problem importing a class

    When I compile my program called Dic2.java, I get the following error:
    C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_01\bin>javac Dic2.java
    Dic2.java:1: '.' expected
    import Entry;
    ^
    1 error
    I compiled my Entry class and it did just fine. Here is my code for Dic2.java:
    import Entry;
    public class Dic2
      protected Entry entries[];
      public Dic2(String puzzle)  // constructor
        if (puzzle == "unscramble")
          entries[0] = new Entry("stupid", "Insult");
          entries[1] = new Entry("monkey", "Zoo animal");
          entries[2] = new Entry("meerkat", "Animal Planet had a series set in the Kalahari Desert featuring this small furry animal");
          entries[3] = new Entry("burrow", "Where meerkats sleep and raise their pups");
          entries[4] = new Entry("boogers", "Gross things");
    }I don't know why my compiler wants a period. I hope you can help me. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    I know you're gonna think I'm crazy, but I I've just started using jdk1.6.0_01 after years of using my more familiar jdk1.2.1. I'm used to compiling packages to jdk1.2.1/jre/classes/com/whatever. I have done similar programs using my own classes in my old version and didn't have to compile them to a package. Is this a newer requirement?
    Also, which path should I take to compile a class in the newer jdk1.6.0_01? It's all different from my old jdk1.2.1.

  • Having problems importing CDs into itunes10

    i have recently noticed that my imac is very reluctant to import CDs into itunes10 - as well as letting me burn data to CDs/DVDs.
    sometimes it will let me burn a CD into itunes, but it will be very slow (used to be around x20 speed) and there will be 'clunking' sounds coming from the drive.
    sometimes if it does appear to have imported a whole CD, the tracks have a length of 0:00!
    is this a faulty drive, due to my imac being a fair few years old (i would hope that apple make their drives last a little longer than just a few years) - or just some kind of bug that needs fixing?
    i would really appreciate if anyone could help me out - as i'm not keen on taking my imac in for repair!
    mac OSX 10.6.7

    Abstractman23 wrote:
    ok i'll try toast. but yes, i fear it may be the drive. do think i should take the imac in for repair (probably will cost too much, and be a huge hassle) - or just buy a drive that can burn/import CDs?
    many thanks!
    Good question.   If you do find that the drive is bad, you may want to call ahead to Apple and get an idea what a 1 for 1 replacement would cost.
    External CD drives that connect via USB are relatively inexpensive, but leave you with more wires and junk on your table.

  • Having problems importing .pst contacts into TB

    I have outlook 2013 and I'm moving to TB. I have successfully imported the .pst email message to TB. However, I have not been able to import the contacts folder/file.
    Suggestions?

    Make Outlook default email client.
    In Thunderbird
    * Tools > Import
    * select 'Address books' click on next
    * select 'Outlook' click on next
    * you may need to map the columns.
    If this is not working:
    Use Outlook to export the contacts as a comma separated .csv file.
    Then import the .csv file.
    In Thunderbird
    * Tools > Import
    * select 'Address books' click on next
    * select 'Text file(LDIF, .tab, .csv, .txt)' and click on Next.
    * you may need to map the columns.
    AS an aid the link below tells you what column headers are used, so you can save the .csv file and edit using eg: Excel.
    This is not absolutely necesary, but can make importing a bit easier if you have the same column headers with correct info.
