Having problems installing the 10.4.4 update
Hello There,
I just recently purchased a second hand Mac Mini from someone, and have both Mac OS 10.3 Panther and Mac OS 10.4 Tiger installation DVDs.
Upon recieveing the Mac Mini, I formatted and installed 10.3 using the Panther DVD (Was the DVD that origionally came with the Mac, Panther). Once Panther was installed, I went ahead and booted off the Tiger DVD to update the Panther installation to Jaguar (the version, as of now, is 10.4.3).
I have downloaded the OS X Tiger 10.4.4 updater (Delta, since i am only going from 10.4.3) and I am getting the following message when i try to run the updater:

I just took a screenshot so you folks could see what I am getting. The Mac Mini is just over a Year old, Has 1GB RAM, 1.2Ghz G4 Processor and a DVD/CD-RW Combo drive in it. I should be able to upgrade this little guy to at least 10.4.4 right? I've heard of other Mac Mini owners upgrading to it...
Any idea what's going on and how I can get 10.4.4 installed? I'm a newbie OS X user (my first mac) so my experience is very limited at this point - but I am willing to try anything to get this installed!

I am not seeing this 10.4.4 update in Software Updater. It's as if my OS is "not aloud" to upgrade to the latest version...

Is anyone having problems with the stock widget not updating?
Widgets unfortunately have gone by the wayside since Apple introduced the App Store a couple years ago. No widget has received any official recognition in the Apple listing of Widgets since that time. So it is entirely possible the widget has gotten redirected. There are many other Apps for stocks. I personally like the Nasdaq Quote website since it knows mutual funds and other markets as well.

Having problems installing the new flash player
As the title say im having great problems installing the new flash player. I have downloaded it many times and tried installing each time, still nothing. Ive tried installing it offline with my computer totally disconnected from the internet, nothing. Each time i try and install it, it goes through 2 windows (one saying if i want to run it, and one asking for permission) and after they disappear, the icon also disappears strangely =S. I checked it on task manager and it is just sitting there doing nothing. Please help.

Other applications have been updated without problems. ASA tells me that there's a problem with validation of the pre-chrome licence (translated from French, I hope you see what it means). It seems to have a link with Creative Suite 5. I'm a bit surprised as I uninstalled CS5 as cleanly as possible (using the maccs5clean script).
I'm working on a 17" MacBook Pro (Early 2011) with Mac OS X 10.8.2.

Having trouble installing the 10.5.3 update
For some reason, my Macbook won't install the next Mac OSX update, It'll restart and bring up the screen and just stay at the "Configuring INstallation" Screen for hours,
How do I fix this?Can you please clarify - are you able to start up your system and login - or not?
As I recall, the configuring installation screen comes up when you are running the install from Software Update - after logging in successfully.
_*If that is the case*_ - then you simply need to delete everything in yourharddrive/Library/Updates/ and run Software Update again. It will then work.
Alternatively (after deleting whatever is in /library/updates/), you could manually [download and run the combo installer from Apple|http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1053comboupdate.html].
_*On the other hand*_, if you can't start up and login successfully, the instructions provided by Simon are spot on. -

Having difficulties getting any updates for my CS6 Design/Web Premium apps. I followed a link from another thread to this forum in hopes of help. I just deactivated and reactivated Photoshop. Still it shows no updates, and I know there is a 13.0.2 available. My other computer, Mac Pro, with the same installed, updated just fine last night. Even had the Adobe logo in the menu bar with indication of an update. It updated Photoshop to the 13.0.2.
The problem computer is a MacBook Pro 8,2, running OS X 10.8.2, 8 GB RAM. A little utility I use to keep my software up to date, MacUpdate's desktop, shows more of CS6 apps with updates. This is only getting worse as updates are not able to be installed. Not having any issues, yet, using the apps but the updates are there for a reason.
I just tried the suggestion (Deactivate, close, reopen) re-entered the license/serial #, still no updates. If I launch the Application Manager from the Utilities/Application Manager/Core/Application Manager all my CS6 apps show "Try" - as if I don't have a registered version.
I'm up for suggestions.

Golf25radioman I am sorry but I am having a really hard time following your posting and issue as you are in multiple threads. If you do not subscribe to the Creative Cloud then the Photoshop 13.1 update is not applicable to you. The update you are looking for is the 13.0.2 update. I might recommend you contact our support team to work with them directly.
I will discontinue to post in multiple threads when I can find out what's wrong with my CS6 Design/Web Premium (expensive by the way). If I can't find an answer in one place I'll go to another. Or guide me to where I should be posting. Thankfully I can still use my CS6 apps (as I read in one post a user couldn't after trying to fix his problem). But, they do release app updates for a reason, yes? Well if I can't install them I do have a problem that probably will only get worse. I have a pretty good ability to resolve issues, and come here when nothing I've tried works.
My apologies if posting in more than one thread is causing problems. I don't see how my posts are hard to follow, I thought I was quite explanatory. I do believe I actually have more than one problem/issue going on now. Still looking for resolution...

Having problems installing the new update on my Windows 7 machine.
Whenever I open Creative Cloud, it forces me to install an update. When I try to install, I receive this message, "There seems to be a problem with the file download. I'm a Creative Cloud user. I have been using the 64-bit version of Photoshop 13.0.x on my system successfully for several months now. I have Windows 7, 3rd gen (Ivy Bridge) core i7 processor, 32GB of RAM, a 1TB Hard Drive, and am using an NVIDIA GeForce 670 video card.... so my system has plenty of processing power. Several nights ago, my Adobe application manager pops up on start up (as normal whenever there's app updates to be done) and says there's an update available for Photoshop (version 13.1.2, I think.. or something close to it, anyway) and Bridge. So, as normal, I apply the updates... Everything completely successfully according to the Applicatino Manager. However, when I try to start photoshop after the update, I get this window that pops up immediately upon double-clicking the Photoshop 64-bit icon on my desktop: "Adobe Photoshop cannot run on this computer because this version of Photoshop requires Windows 7 or later." All I can do is "X" out the box to make it go away, so I did. Weird because obviously I have Windows 7 and all of my other software works great on my system, and I have Lightroom 4.3, other Adobe stuff, Serif software, ACDSee, etc... and I get no problems out of ANY of them running on my officially licensed version of Windows 7. So just for the heck of it, I uninstalled Photoshop completely and then reinstalled it using the Adobe Application Manager. It installs version 13.0, which then allows me to open and use Photoshop as normal. I proceed to "check for updates" from within the program, and it takes me to 13.0.2 I believe. I can use Photoshop as normal after that. Here's what I think is funny... I can check for updates to my heart's content after updating to 13.0.x. The program thinks there's no updates available after 13.0.x. The only way my system knows there's a later version out there is if I power down my system and restart it. Then and only then will Adobe Application Manager come up and tell me there's an update available (13.1.2) which, if I chooose to install (and I did), takes me back to the error that I mentioned earlier: "Adobe Photoshop cannot run on this computer becuse this version of Photoshop requires Windows 7 or later". Soooo with all of this said... DOES ANYONE know how the updated version of Photoshop (13.1.2) for Creative Cloud Subscribers checks to see if it's running on a Windows 7 system? For whatever reason, it doesn't think I have Windows 7 after updating to it, and I'm stuck! I know if I contact Adobe Support, they're going to want to uninstall ALL of my Adobe software of which I have alot, and then reinstall everything... and quite frankly, I think all that is a bunch of crap! It's plain and simple... Photoshop works BEFORE the update, and will not open due to this error AFTER the update, so there's some issue with the updating procedure that causes Photoshop to not recognize my Windows 7 system, and I just pray that SOMEBODY out there might be able to help me change some setting on my system that will cause Photoshop 13.1.2 to actually work!
UPDATE: I decided to check the 32-bit version of 13.1.2, and it works! So it looks like this error is limited to the 64-bit version. That just makes no sense at all to me. -

MacFixit is an excellent trouble shooting sit. However, do not forget what their business model is: trouble with Macs. If anyONE post a problem, they post a fix. The point is: ONE.
Please search the Apple discussions and you will find very few reports about problems with QuickTime 7.1. In fact, it's one of the updates with the lowest number of problems in a long time.
But if you want to watch the grass growing, you better wait untill Apple releases QuickTime 11.8 in April 2024 - and hope it does not cause ANY problems to ANY user in the several million installations worldwide. -

Macbook 2009 does static sound on google chrome and so does my mac desktop. This is all started under Mavericks 10.9.2 for me.
Nevermind I fixed it. Atleast I think I did, I just set my audio to 24-bit and 9600khz or whatever its called and it sounds clear now. At least I hope that fixed the problem.

Having problem installing the Java plugin while running Puppy Linux 5.11
This notebook has no hdd, so I'm running PL 511 from a live cd while FF has been D/L to a CFCard as a PET file from which I'm browsing now.
The problem aroused while executing the command:
'''./jre-6u25-linux-i586-rpm.bin'''. After a few steps it said:''' rpm: invalid option -- 'v''''. There it says other things but I believe at this point the command is no longer running, just displaying some logged/troubleshooting data.
By following some instructions in another part/section of the Mozilla site I'm including the list of the plugins I've via the following link (& probably other things also):

The amount of RAM=512 MB & have 2 CFCards, where FF resides now is a 128 MB (almost full) the other is a 2 GB one (lot of space there, for now). Hope the above is enough info for any of you to be able to offer some help. Thanks!Hi

Audio fault when copying an AEP
Hi guys, I've been having an issue with audio in After Effects, to make it simpler I'll explain the process of what I have to do. I receive an edited sequence in premiere, which I then split into multiple compositions in one AEP file in After effects
