Having problems opening iTunes. It tells me to reopen a window and then crashes

I open iTunes and a pop up box informs me to re-open itunes in another window and then it crashes with a report of the crash.

To access a second (or more) library, hold down the
Shift key when launching iTunes 7. In the resulting
dialogue you will get the option to create a new
library or navigate to the other Library. The default
location for your library files is \Documents and
Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes. The
files will be called something along the lines of
iTunes Library.itl
It worked! Thank you so much... I thought I would have to go through and import all of my songs one by one again.
Again, thank you! I really appreciate it!

ipod nano 4gb green   Windows XP

I had the same problem as you. I could update apps using cellular connection but not on wifi.  I tried resetting the router, changind to G instead of N band,  using another network, and reseting the network on the ipad but nothing helped. I tried apple email support and got canned answers that seem like robot answers to me.  They had nothing to do with my problem.  I finally called the free 90 day support and the only answer they could give me was to backup the ipad, reinstall the os, and then restore the ipad using icloud.  It took a while to do all this but it worked.  I can now update apps as well as download new ones that I was unable to do before.  I think this all started when i updated the OS but can not prove it.
    Good luck.

  • I am having problems opening iTunes... is a new update coming?

My iTunes still does not open after I upgraded to the latest OSX software.  When is a new upgrade coming?  I've been forcing the application to open by showing package contents, right clicking the app and forcing it... but it's a pain.

    There's always an update coming...

  • My ipad was having problems opening viewers, but I learned to power it  off and wait about a minute and turn it back on and it rests the issue, do you have any other ways or ifs this the best it worked pretty good this time, but  if it happens again

My Ipad has trouble opening setting tab and safari, it opens abd before you can enter anything the iPad shuts it down to the home screen, I mainly use my ipad for the internet or emails, I know the internet works because I still receive emails on it.  Please help me out here.

Try clearing Safari, close all apps and reset the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • I have an error when opening iTunes - message states APS Daemon.exe- system error and then states program can't start as MSVCR8.d11 is missing

Will I lose my stored tunes and what do I need to do

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • Problems opening iTunes after installation - "QuickTime was not Found"

I am having trouble opening iTunes. Both iTunes and Quick time will download and install and I can open QuickTime without a problem, but when I open iTunes, I get the following error:
Open iTunes and an error opens:
"QuickTime was not found. QuickTime is required to run iTunse. Please uninstall iTunes and then install iTunes again."
I only have trouble when I am at home and not connected to my work network. I was able to start iTunes yesterday while in the office, but all my music is on my external hard drive at home. Not helpful!
I have tried about everything - uninstalled, reinstalled itunes and quick time, disabled bonjour, disabled the startup files, etc. I am still not having any luck.
    Any suggestions?

Both iTunes and Quick time will download and install and I can open QuickTime without a problem, but when I open iTunes, I get the following error:
    A bit unusual.
Did you do the QuickTime/iTunes install at work?
Is QuickTime still launching when you get the PC home?
(Wondering if something relating to the network at work have done odd things to QuickTime or iTunes registry entries ... possibly iTunes is looking for QuickTime on the wrong drive when you get the PC home, for example.)

  • I copied my PS CS5 Plug Ins folder into my CS6  one & it started having problems opening & errors...

I copied my PS CS5 Plug Ins folder into my CS6  one & it started having problems opening & errors... would someone be able to tell me what the basic/original ones should be in PS CS^6 Plug In folder please?

That would be any other plug-ins you've installed after Photoshop.  Out of the box that folder is completely empty with Photoshop CS6.
To be completely accurate, what you did wrong was that you copied plug-ins that were supplied by Adobe with the earlier version of Photoshop.  Those plug-ins logically conflict with the current ones Adobe supplies with Photoshop, which are now provided in another place.
They've changed the folder structure, so no longer are any plug-ins supplied by Adobe put in that folder.  Hopefully for a future version update you can copy those you have in Photoshop CS6 without getting yourself into the same trouble.

Anybody else having problems installing itunes version 11 on a MacBook Pro? Is so, how can they be resolved?

You posted this in the OSX 10.4 forum but your computer profile says you are running OSX 10.6.8  Which system version you are running makes a big difference.

The master password protects saved passwords in Thunderbird and has nothing to do with connecting to your providers server. You need to work with your email provider if you have forgotten your email password. Go to their email help site and look for a link to reset your password.
If you are truly working with a forgotten master password this article tells you how to remove it.

  • I am having problems opening pages in safari. the rotating wheel at the right end of the address window doesn't stop even after the page has filled up. then if i try to open other pages it gets stuck and won't open them.

I started having problems opening pages today. When first open a page it seems to download the page OK, but the rotating wheel on the right-hand end of the address field keeps rotating after the page is completely filled up. Then if I try to open other pages it becomes slower and eventually stops filling-in the pages, while the rotating wheel keeps rotating.
I wonder whether junk is being downloaded into my mac, or what is going on. Help will be geatly appreciated.

When was the last time you emptied the Safari cache?
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
If that didn't make a difference, go back to the menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari. Select the top 5 boxes then click Reset.
And how much free space on the startup disk?
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 15% free disk space. Freeing Up Hard Disk Space - Mac Guides
If emptying cache or resetting didn't help and there's enough free space on the startup disk, login to another user account, launch Safari. Same problems there indicates a system wide problem. Log back into your admin account so you can check the startup disk.
    Launch Disk Utility. /Applications/Utilities
Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If the startup disk needs repairing, follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks
I wonder whether junk is being downloaded into my mac
Nothing should "download" to your Mac unless you initiate the download yourself. You can check the Downloads folder from the Safari > Window menu or your Downloads folder in the Finder.
