Having problems SENDING mail through hostway account (relay error msg)?

Want to spare others the 2 week nightmare of configuring email so that "relay error" message would not prevent emails from being sent.
Settings / Accounts/ mail/ then...
1. enter pop/smtp account and pw
2 SMPT settings: "authentication" - check "password"
SSL - "OFF' if port setting is 587
"ON" if port setting is 465
3. Enter both user name and password where it says "optional"

Try this, it will create a mailbox in messaging and work like your desktop, to refresh you need to hi-lite the mailbox then select options-sync email, use it on my N97 instaed of standard email

Having problem sending mail through iMAC to PC outlook express.

i have iMAC MAC OS X 10.3.9 and using mail to send/receive messages.
I m having problem sending messages to outlook Users as when i send any message to them with different font colors so they receive message but in all Black color,and while when i send the same message with different Font color to Mac users so they receive same message which i sent with different Font color.

If you are accessing your Comcast POP account with Outlook Express on your Windows PC, create your .Mac account as an IMAP account with OE.
Create a .Mac server stored mailbox for Comcast received messages and another for Comcast sent messages.

Sorry I don't understand the first question :{
Connection Doctor says everything is connected. i can send mail from the server's own web site ,just not from the Apple Mail program.
The problem did begin when I was travelling from one hotel to another.
Any ideas?

Can receive mail ok
have tired rebuilding the mail box but no improvment.
i need to shut down system and restart to be able to send mail.

I tried something similar by adding a new mail account doing the apple id etc but it worked in that it would look for mail but no mail would come even though mail still goes to my phone I was loath to delete my original account just in case the new one did not work as well. So I guess I am a little stuck now.. I hope you can help me to sort it out.

Can't send mail through business account

Hi. I'm using Mail to consolidate various email accounts, and have been having trouble making one of them work.
The connection doctor says it's online and the hosting company for the website says I have the right settings, but it just seems to keep giving me this error message:
And then I have to send it through a different account, which is all sorts of frustrating, as well as debilitating to the business image.
the smtp outgoing setting I was told to use is mail.pepcrealfood.co.uk, which the doctor says is online, as I said. And now I'm being advised to talk to my service provider about it. Any help available out there?

N97 sending mail through hotmail account

hi, ive read several thread regarding emails on n97 but nothing that would answer my question so i hope someone can help me out.
im having a trouble sending emails through my hotmail acount. i have no problem logging on to my account and receiving emails and reading them but when i click on "new message" to create one it come up as "there was an error while trying to do this. Please try again"
every time i take the phone into get it serviced outbox mail will work for a while but in a few hours dies again. ive got the phone changes few days ago so i dont think its the phone... maybe the programming...
ive called Nokia support centre and they told me i have to start a nokia messaging account (which i did) but the places im sending emails to blocks any emails unless its coming straight from my hotmail account.
any advice??

Brand new macbook pro can't send mail through verizon account

Hi,
I just bought a 13 inch macbook pro, 750 gb hard drive I7 processor. I can receive mail, but can't send it through my verizon account. My mobile me account works fine. Everything looks right but it just won't send. Any ideas?

we have some problem with using Ironport to sending email.
The configuration seems to be correct infact some mail go out correctly. But for certain domain, the mail doesn't go out and if I check the message tracking I see this:

I am having trouble sending mail to earthlink accounts.

Anyone having this problem? It doesn't seem to happen on my iphone.. When I am in mail program, I can email all accounts but can't email earthlink from my icloud...? I can email earthlink from my other providers. Please help!!!

Anyone having trouble sending mail through Cox today?

I have had my iPhone since it's release, and have been sending e-mails with no problem. Today for some reason I am getting a message that the server is not responding/failing. Just wondered if I was the only one....

I am not the technical one if the family, but on another thread w/ the same issue, someone called ATT and they said the cmwx server is down.

Having problems sending mail

2nd blackberry, had the same problem on the first one.
when i try and type an e-mail, I would type the first letter of the name and the list of all names with that letter would drop down, and then I would enter the info,
now for the 2nd time, on the 2nd blackberry, I lost that option, it wont let me send an e-mail either, if I type a name in, or an e-mail in, and try to send an e-mail it wond let me.
I can only reply to e-mails,
if anybody has any suggestions, otherwise I am going to get my 3rd blackberry this week.

This is not a hardware problem so getting another BlackBerry isn't going to fix it.
What kind of BlackBerry? What email service do you have set up? is this a work or a personal device? Work or personal email? Did you plug the BB into the desktop manager on your pc? We can help but we need as much information as you can provide.

Sure, you can put a local mail server on ur machine to test out sending and receiving in javamail. There r several mail server implementations out there, I personally prefer James (available at http://apache.org) It is pure java based mail server providing full POP3 and SMTP functionality.
Once u configure a local mail server, u can use emailids like xyz@localhost or acme@localhost
