Anybody still having problems updating to ios 5?

I have had no success in updating my Verizon 32GB i Phone 4 with ios5.  Every time I go thru the update software process I get an error message 3104.  I follow the thread and it has me re-load i Tunes.  I have done this and still get the error 3194 and will not let me install ios 5.  I have a Dell 64 Bit processor running Windows 7 (64).  Very dissipointed, this is the first glitch I have had after converting to Apple.  Also having the same problem with iPAD2 update for ios5.  So this may point to a problem with i Tunes.
I have gone to Google and looked up the problem and there appear to be several fixes such as add a line of language to the i Tumes software or remove a line.  This is a little too much for a mear mortal like me to be fooling around with re-writing software language.
Frustration level - High.  Dissipointment level - Higher.
    Thanks for the venue...

  • Having problems updating to iOS 5 for iPod Touch.

I own an iPod touch 32GB, 3rd generation. I have version 4.3.5 at the moment. When I plug my iPod into my computer and try to update it to 5.0.1 (iOS 5) a message comes up that says "Updating to iOS 5.0.1 will delete all of the media, including iTunes store purchases, on your iPod Touch. To preserve your content, apply this update on the computer where you sync music, videos and photos."  I have never used another computer for my iPod. When iOS 5 first came out I was able to update my iPone 4 perfectly with out any problems. Is anyone else having/had this problem or getting/got this message?

If you had been using this computer for syncing, the music should still be present in iTunes:
Connect your iPod to the computer either via cable or wireless and check the iTunes settings.  Finally, do a sync.

  • Problems updating from iOS 6.1.3.to iOS 7.0.3.

Hi everyone. Norwegian iPad-user in need of assistance. I haven't bothered to update my iPad untill now. I'm running iOS 6.1.3 now, and todays update obviously is iOS 7.0.3. But, when I start the process with updating I get to the part where I agree on the Terms & Conditions, clicks accept and then it starts verifying the update. After a short while I get the message; Unable to verify the update. The verification was unsuccessful for iOS 7.0.3 since you no longer are connected to the internet. (This is translated from Norwegian, the proper English message might differ...) Anyway, this is not correct. I am at a truly stable and fast internet connection here at work, so something else must be the problem.
    Help!!!

You can connect the iPad to your computer and download/install the update.
     Cheers, Tom

  • Having problems updating to IOS 5.01

    Hi,
I having tried to update my iphone 4s and everything when it is like 75% done it crashs . Itunes is saying "Itunes is restoring the software on this iphone" and stay there forever. I tried to restart the process and it happened again.
    Someone can help me?
    Thank you guys

    Common Sense points:
    1. Try updating your phone 1-2 days after the release date. When IOS 5.0 was released the Apple servers were overwhelmed because of so many users trying to update at the same time. As a result, many users could not complete the 5.0 update.
    2. An iPhone with 32gb of data can take well over an hour to complete. My iPhone with 25gb of data tool an hour and a half to complete. I waiting to perform the update three days after it's release so I would not get stuck with Apple servers timing out.
    3. My iPad took less than an hour with the same amount of data.
So rule number one.... Wait a day or two after the release date to perform your update. I've seen a good many people get timed out in the middle of an update because they needed to grab it several hours after the release.

  • Having problems updating from Lion OS 10.6.8 - how can I update?

    Hi All
I bought my 21" iMac in April 2011. I was overseas for a few months and came home and found that there have been several updates to the Lion OS (10.6.8 v1.1; 10.7 10.7.1 and 10.7.2). I have not been able to update any of these starting with the first update 10.6.8 v1.1. The update is downloaded ok but during the installation it fails and I get a 42408 error message.  I also cannot complete other software updates such as safari etc. Again the updates download ok but during the final installation (moving items) before the computer restarts, the installation stops with "unexpected error"
    Any suggestions/help?
    thanks
    matt

Step one is to boot with your install DVD, launch Disk Utility, repair the disk, and then reinstall the OS. It'll leave all of your data and settings in place. Then, try the updates, starting with the 10.6.8 v1.1 COMBO one, which BTW, is Snow Leopard and not Lion.

  • Update from IOS 4.2.1 to 4.3.5

How do i update an iPhone 4 with IOS 4.2.1 to 4.3.5?  Every time i connect it to iTunes (Windows 7 laptop), 2-3mins before finishing to 2 hour download, the screen will freeze and a window will pop out saying "cannot download software, timed out".  I tried this on 5 occasions but always got the same response.
Can anyone help me find the solution to this?  Appreciate your help. Thanks.

I got it. IOS 4.3.5 does not update on a Windows PC with a Windows 7 Starter version.  I tried connecting the iPhone to a Windows PC with Vista and didn't have any problem updating from IOS 4.2.1. to 4.3.5.
Just thought you want to know.
    Thanks.

  • If I update from ios 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 will I lose my map data? When I updated to 5.0 I lost all my GPSHD Motion X data - 25 Gbytes.

If I update from IOS 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 will I lose all my GPSHD Motion X map data? When I updated to IOS 5.0.1 I lost about 25GBytes of map data because Itunes will not back up my GPSHD map data.

I havn't used that app, but you shouldn't lose any data by updating to 5.1.1 from 5.0.1.
You can make sure you have a backup before updating.
If you run into problem with that app only or want to ask the app developers, check out the Motion X-Support site.

  • After updating from ios 7.1.2 to 8.1.2, iphone got stuck syncing with itunes!

After updating from ios 7.1.2 to 8.1.2, iphone got stuck syncing with itunes!
I searched for some solutions on the internet and applied following fixes:
1- Disconnected iphone from PC and closed itunes.
2- Reset the iphone by holding down the On/Off button.
3- Connected iphone back to PC to sync with itunes.
Apparently this fixed the problem, and iphone synced with itunes.

same here, but now you can't downgrade to iOS 7.x, since apple has closed the verification server for that version.

In the last few days, it seems that my computer has all of a sudden caught a virus.
As others have pointed out, this isn't malware. That should not be your first (or even fifty-first) thought when your Mac starts misbehaving. For more on this topic, see my Mac Malware Guide.
I know the last ditch effort (after cleaning and maintenance of disc verification and permissions and repairs, is to reboot from the system disc.
You mention "cleaning and maintenance." Have you been running utilities claiming to do those things? If so, you may be the victim of an overly-zealous cleaning job, which has removed important files and damaged your system.
If I'm understanding correctly, you're unable to open any applications at all... is that right? Do you have any backups? If you don't have backups, you're in a sticky situation, as it will be difficult to make backups in your current state, but you shouldn't try any kind of repairs without them. (Actually, you shouldn't do anything with your computer without backups, but this is especially important when something is going badly wrong.)
If you have backups, reboot from your Snow Leopard install disc. From there, first, repair the hard drive with Disk Utility. Once that is done, assuming repairs were successful, reinstall the system. You can simply reinstall it on top of your current system, and it will replace any damaged or lost system files with new copies. (You'll also need to update the system via Software Update after reinstalling.)
If you don't have backups, or if Disk Utility can't repair damage, or if the problem continues even after a reinstall, post back with those details.

  • No Service on iphone 4 GSM after update from ios 7.0 to 7.0.2

Yesterday on my iPhone 4 I made the OTA update from iOS 7.0 to iOS 7.0.2
Modem FW is 04.12.09 - no jailbreak, no simlock
Everything just worked as it should but after the update I did not have Service anymore and my iphone is permanently searching a Carrier.
I already have resetted all Network settings but without any result.
I have restored once again via itunes to 7.0.2 but without result.
Any Idea what I could do?
I have to be reachable by phone so now I am going to restore back to 7.0 and I hope that it will work again.
I will update this post later.

    Update, still on 7.0.2:
After having switched Carrier search from Automatic to Manual a list appears with all available Carriers.
My Carrier is on the list but when I select it following info appears:
There are restrictions for the selected Carrier, please select another one or go back to Settings.
*** ... this is my home Carrier and I am in my home country!!! I never saw something like this before.
Actually it is the same message as I got when I select another Carrier in my Country where of course access is denied.
For me this clearly seems to be a bug in 7.0.2
    U P D A T E with ios 7.0
After Restoring via iTunes from 7.0.2 to 7.0.   SAME BEHAVIOR now :-(
Phone remains unusable and I do not know what to do .....

  • 4s updating from ios 5 to 7 still possible?

Is it possible to update and iphone 4s 16gb from ios 5 to ios 7 instead of having to update to ios 8. I know apple stopped signing and authorizing ios 7 so you can no longer go back to ios 7 from ios 8 but is there a way to get from ios 5 to ios 7?? I'm afraid that if i update the phone to ios 8 it will have a hard time handling it.

Your service contract with your carrier is irrelevant to the warranty. It may be relevant to any coverage your carriers offers while under contract to them. But that is something you would have to discuss with them.
If you still have warranty or Apple care, (different to insurance)  then your iPhone is covered for any  manufacturing defect. Apple is obligated to replace the iPhone with an identical device. The fact they no longer make the 4s does not mean they don't have any in stock for replacements.   It will most likely not be new, but refurbished.
In the extreme case there is no humanly possible way to get a 4s of similar characteristics to yours, they may provide you with the next closest thing. Which may be an iPhone 4s of different specs.
In the case of your Insurance you would need to talk with your insurance company about the specifics of your insurance contract. What it covers and under what circumstances.
With all that said, its unlikely iOS 8 will cause any damaging issues that would actually require replacing the phone. Its more likely it will work perfectly fine.

  • I am using iphone 4s ios6.1.2 ...my iphone has become too slow once i have updated from ios 5.1.1..can anyone help me to make my iphone perform batter

i am using iphone 4s ios6.1.2 ...my iphone has become too slow once i have updated from ios 5.1.1..can anyone help me to make my iphone perform batter

    Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
    - From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    - Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
    - Press the red  to delete apps from this list.
    - Press the home button twice when done.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.
