Having Problems with 10.5.57? Then Please Read!

If you've installed the 10.5.7 update and are having problems there are some possible remedies. Most often the problems are created by an existing problem in the system that is updated. Here are some things to do that could help:
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Download the 10.5.7 Combo Updater and reinstall the update. Prior to installation remove all third-party peripherals. Use only the original keyboard and mouse that came with your computer.
3. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder and repair permissions again.
If this does not solve your problems, then you need to restore the backup of your old system, then follow the above instructions. If that doesn't solve your problem, then you may need to reinstall OS X from scratch or have your computer checked for possible hardware failure.

If you have music that was not purchased from the iTunes Store, then you will not be able to move it from the iPhone to your computer. Instead you will need to follow the steps in this article that helps with moving the library from the old to the new.

I have to work on a project to create a survey system using APEX, as am new on using this tool , am still facing some problems to finish my job..
i created Master/Detail form using wizard, the master form is working fine but am when i try to add data using the detail form its giving me error :

and in the object navigator make the first item in the master
block that it should be displayed in the canvas and it must be a
navigable item too.not a display item.

I am a little confused. In some places your say there is not enough space on your iPod and other times you indicate that there is not enough space on your C drive. How much available space do you have on your iPod? How much is taken up by "other". With you iPod connected to the computer the Summary page of iTunes for your iPod will breakdown the usage. How much free space is available on your C drive?

I have created a document that needs a signature in Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2. I was under the impression that anyone with Adobe Reader over 8.0 could fill out the form, and sign it. However, users can fill out the form, but not sign it. I am not that adobe savvi but I can follow directions pretty well! Please help!

You need to Reader Enable the form in Acrobat Professional. After you have completed the form layout in Designer open the file in Acrobat. Then select the Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader menu item. It will ask you to Save a copy of the file. It will be that copy that you can sign in Reader.

Disable Mediasource Detector.
-Start Creative MediaSource.
-On the menu bar, click Tools -> Settings.

-Restart your computer.
Try updating the firmware again.
Afterwhich , you may want to try reloading the firmware using the
recovery mode option.
Try to get into recovery mode with the following steps:
) Turn off the player.
2) Remove the battery.
3) Move and hold the Power button to the Power On position and
re-insert the battery. Hold the Power button until the Recovery Mode
appears.
The following options will be displayed:
) Clean Up (Performs a disk scan on the players hard disk, it will not
affect music files)
2) Format All (Formats the players hard disk - Note: all contents will
be lost)
3) Reload Firmware (Reloads the Operating System on the Jukebox)
4) Reboot (Reboots the device).
Next select Reload Firmware and connect the player to the PC. After
connecting, launch firmware update file. Does the firmware update
process complete?

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Completely frozen while trying to reload firmware. You boot the thing up and it just sits there with the creai've logo. I have not tried the steps outlined exactly above yet but I am going to give them a shot. Heck I have nothing else to lose. At this point it is already 200 bucks down the drain. Hmm maybe I will go with the Zune form microsoft.

That camera model is too new for your programs. Every camera has its own raw format and ACR must be updated to include the info for each new model as it comes out. The workaround would be to download the free Adobe DNG converter and use that to convert your ORFs to DNGs that your version of Camera Raw can read.

Having problems with USB cable, please HELP!

While trying to download aim/aol I was having problems with my USB cable and my phone being connected, it was like they were showing they were conneted but when I tried to download aim it said no drivers were recognised. My phone was giving me the option when the USB cable was plugged in asking me if I wantd to do something to do with the media mass storage.
Anyway, once the drivers were downloaded to my comp and I plugged USB cable into my phone and comp i'm no longer being asked on my blackberry about the mass storage, my phone doesn't seem to be recogniaing tht it's linked up to my computer at all even though it's showing the little plug thing in my blackberry and coming up on the computer.
Is there anybody out there who can help me?!

Well my bank just listed a warning on their site that those customers with FF are having problems logging in. I still tried and yep I can't login either. Also last week when I was on Lee's jean site and looking at pants not all the offerings were show on the page since I was talking with customer service rep. I had no idea it was not pulling up everything. So I have no error message to tell me when FF is not doing it's job. This concerns me since I have no way of knowing if I am getting entire search results using FF. Now my bank is having problems with your browser. So I am resorting to Chrome for now. I like the idea of FF and all but when it impacts so many important abilities online I really can't justify using FF. I know you all are doing your best but I also have to do my best too and using FF is not going to get me the best results right now. Have no idea what is going on. I also just clicked the check our browser on your site to see if I needed updates and what it did instead is it took out all addons and well that was another reason I am not sure what is going on here at FF. I also have been having crash problems with Adobe Flash too with browser off and on for months and I just keep reporting it but it still keeps cropping up. I think maybe it also has something to do with FF. Any addons I have had I installed from your website and I didn't have much at all in addons either. Pinterest is the only one I can think of. I also have problems with my browser locking up like for watching videos online and maybe that has to do with Adobe Flash??? No I don't feel quiet sure about posting the screen shots of my bank here. But it is Columbia Bank in Washington State that has a warning to their customers who are using FF. "A recent update to Firefox is creating access problems for some customers in Personal Online Banking. We are working on a resolution as quickly as possible. When I click and try it anyways I get:
"Secure Connection Failed to web9.secureinternetbank.com It was interrupted while the page was loading. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform of this problem."
I switched to Chrome this morning and I was able to access bank account no problem. I also went to daily mail and usually my computer gets whiny with all the ads that load up and none of them loaded with Chrome it was way better.
Watched a video and no problems. I appreciate the suggestion to Sea Monkey but I have done that browser before. I forget why I left SM long time ago but had to be a good reason. IF FF is not that well supported then I would seriously doubt that SM would be any better. I have too much to do to play tech detective on this or that. I don't care for Google docs since so limited on what you can do with those programs and don't like how invasive it is but I am strapped for time and can't wait for open source to catch up. I have waited so many years and I have pretty much given up. When my desktops give out I may even consider Apple at this point which I NEVER thought I would do.

Was it purchased from an official Apple Store, not a reseller? Only Apple Stores sell official factory unlocked phones. The others sell hacked to unlock phones, and the unlocking is unstable.
Try these steps, as needed:
1. Reset phone - press both home and on/off buttons for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
3. Replace SIM card (and reset network settings again)
4. Restore Phone in iTunes using a backup
5. Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup
