  • HT1657 I am having problems with sound in my rental movies

We rent movies all the time but lately we are having problems with sound for our movie rentals.  We watch the first half hour without a problem than the voice is choppy all the time.  Sometimes it is good for five minutes than noting for a while.  We  have tried everything we could think of with no avail.  I could see one movie but the last 5 or so have been the same.  Done trying we need to fix this!  Help!  Any ideas?

First try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears. Try again to see if the problem persists.
If you still have the same issue, it's possible that something is lodged in the earphone jack. This can cause the iPad to think earphones are plugged in when they are not. Use a vacuum to try to suck any dust, lint or other foreign matter from the jack. If that still doesn't work, try CAREULLY using a toothpick.

  • Having problems with mail on my iPad 3rd gen

    Hi.
I seem to be having problems with mail on my iPad.  Every few days I go to open mail and go open an email and I go to try and delete it or send a reply or compose a new mail and thus I tap the icon but mail will not do anything.
I can open emails but not send or delete them.
Sometimes it works when I just close mail and reopen it but sometimes I have to restart my iPad multiple times. Doesn't matter which email account.
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hello there erika274,
It sounds like no matter what contact you put into the 'To' field, a different name appears, but the email makes it to the intended recipient. I would recommend a few things here. First, close all the open apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists, I would next backup your device to iTunes, and restore it:

There's a good chance that this is a known issue.  We'll have a Flash Player 18 beta later this week that should resolve this at http://www.adobe.com/go/flashplayerbeta/

  • Is anyone else having problems with syncing your phone & iPad since the last update?

is anyone else having problems with syncing your phone & iPad since the last update?

Here's the problems I'm having with iPad 2 and iOS 5.1:
Okay ... so, because I had less than a 1 Gig left (as reported by iTunes) on my 64Gig iPad, and the majority of the space was being used by "Photos" ... I decided to not keep my PC photos directory in sync with my iPad (Windows 7). So, in iTunes, I unchecked the option to sync computer photos to the iPad. I got the standard popup warning message that my iPad would not contain those albums after the next sync. I clicked OK and proceeded to sync expecting to have lots of space freed up.
But weird things happened after syncing.
    (1) I still have all my photos on my iPad .... nothing disappeared at all. (And performed multiple syncs to try to force the change ... still nothing has been removed from my iPad.)
    (2) Somehow, I gained 20 Gigs of free space, as reported by both iTunes and my iPad as well.
Anyone know what's going on here?
I do have iMovie and another movie making app, Avid. Both of these contain projects that refer to photos in albums that were supposed to be removed after the sync ... but I can't imagine that would keep them there. Anyone have any ideas?
I also installed the iPad app, iPhoto. I noticed that it build a directory listing and continuously want to update that listing from time to time.
Would any of these things cause the iTunes photo sync changes to be ignored? And, how did I get free space to report back with an additional 19Gig or so, when there's no change at all.
    Unsure what's going on ...

  • We recently purchased the iphone5 (2) and are having problems with sound coming thru the earbuds when we plug them in to the iphones.  works fine with the ipad.  help please

recently purchased the iphone5 (2 of them) and are having problems with the earpods.  no sound when plugged in to the iphone.  both phones.  works with the ipad.  help please

    Hi P5052,
Welcome to the Support Communities ... and congratulations on the purchase of your iPhone 5's!
It is very unusual that neither phone is working with the new earpods.
Have you tried a different headphone just to see if the issue is with the earpods or the iPhones?
The article below will give you the basic troubleshooting steps for this issue.
Click on the link below to see more details and screenshots.
I've quoted some helpful highlights for you:
iPhone: Can't hear through the receiver or speakers
    Symptoms
When someone calls, I can't hear them through the receiver or speaker phone, and I can't hear music through the speaker. I also can't be heard by someone who is calling me.
Note: iPhone has one speaker, which is adjacent to the dock connector. On iPhone 4 or later models, the speaker is to the right of the dock connector. On earlier iPhone models, the speaker is to the left of the dock connector.
    Resolution
Verify that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not switched to silent.
While on the Home screen, adjust the volume buttons. If you see the icon below, indicating that headphones are attached, there may be debris or an object lodged in the headset jack:
Check the headset jack. If there is an object lodged in the headset jack that is not easily removed, have the iPhone serviced to remove object.
For Original iPhone: If there is light debris, such as lint, in the headset jack, try connecting a pair of headphones to the headset jack and then remove the headphones. Repeat this several times to remove the debris.
If you have installed a protective film on the display, either ensure that the receiver is not covered or remove the film completely.
Check the receiver mesh (which is on the top front of the device, above the display). If it appears blocked, use a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush to carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If you have paired with a Bluetooth headset that is nearby, either use the headset or turn Bluetooth off (chooseSettings > General > Bluetooth).
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting the iPhone doesn't resolve the issue, try restoring the device.
If the issue persists, go to the Service Answer Center - iPhone for information on service.
    Hope this helps!
    - Judy

  • I am having trouble with sound on my iPad

I am having trouble with sound on my iPad

    Found the fix.
If the reboot doesn't fix it.
If the headphoens work find, but no external speakers.
If the double-click and page right to the software mute, doesn't show the sound knob - just the brightness
If your pop-up shows "Docking Station"
Then, the problem is very likely a dirty connector.  The iPad/iPhone/iPod connector uses a resistor value to determine if the device is connected to an external 'speaker'.  There are a range of resistances, for a range of products.  This is known as the Connector Pin 21 issue.
Take some windex on a que-tip, or perhaps a Windex paper scrub and rub it on the bottom connector port.  Somehow, "something" has gotten on those contacts, and it is pulling the voltage on pin #21 down - so that the iPad "thinks" it's connected to an external speaker - this will disable the internal speaker circuitry, as well as the internal speaker volume controls.
Do not over-saturate and short out your iPad.  Do not throw it in the sink, do not use the kitchen faucet to flush it out.  A Que-tip with a few drops of Windex (or other gentle cleaner) should work just fine.  Takes all of 30 seconds - and magically, the volume knob appeared and everything worked just fine.

  • Help! Having problems with sound on my 4s

Ive been having problems with the sound on my iphone 4s, it sometimes has a ringtone and has keyboard clicks but it wont play music or have any ringtones or anything. It doesn't even come up with the volume scroll bar or the volume buttons on the side no longer work. This isn't due to liquid damage or anything, this is a software issue. Is there anyway to fix this?

If it's a hardware issuem the hardware needs to be fixed.

  • Is anyone else having problems with Sound Check playing tracks at the wrong volume in Album view?

I have noticed in the last few weeks that when I play an album on iTunes, some of the tracks are played at a lower volume.  I am using sound check, and when I play the tracks individually from the "Songs" view they all play at the correct volume.  However, when i choose album view, some of the same tracks are played at a lower volume.  I have rang the support line and they couldn't tell me why this is happening.  Has anybody else had this happen to them, and does anyone know a way round this?

I have problems with many of the same issues you mention with zoom on iOS8.  Its not entirely clear if this is intended functionality or a number of bugs.  The setting for full screen view versus window/regional view seems to not apply globally, which is insanely frustrating.  Window view pops up without warning, particularly in a keyboard pop-up event.
I don't particularly liek the popup menu either, but now I HAVE to use it to constantly change from the sudden change to window focus to full screen zoom.
Some of the new filter features are nice additions, but don't seem to work well. or be performance optimized.  Low-light, for example, stutters on zooming.
I would also assert that zooming in and out seems more abrubpt and less accurate.
iOS8 is definitely a decrease in usability and performance from its predecessors.  Apple, please work out the bugs and get this right!

  • Having problem with you tube , in ipad

I Am having problem in playing video , in ipad

Adobe Reader doesn't support video. Try PDF Expert from Readdle ($9.99 US)

  • I have an i pod and am having problems with sound. When I watch any video on the device with headphones the music is always too loud for the voice meaning i can't hear what is being said. This problem is accompanied with a buzz in some parts of the music.

When watching a video with my headphones the volume of speech seams very low even when i adjust volume. The speech also tends to make a humming sound in places. When I listen to music humming is sometimes transmitted, but the volume level is normal. The problem is that when the video is playing i can only hear music and humming with the voice too quiet to hear properly. How can I make both volumes balanced? Also. This happens in all music videos.

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.
    Apple - iPod Repair price
A third-party place like the following will replace the jack for less. Google for more.
