Having Role Menus in Bex Collapse by default

Hi All,
At present we have several role menus in our BW3.5 setup. These roles have 10-15 queries in each, some users have all of these roles added to their profile. By default when opening in Bex they all seem to open fully expanded. Is there a setting which we can use to make them open at the top level and then we can drill down?
Also can we force an order for these to appear or do they by default appear in the order they are created rather than alphabetcial order?

they will appear in the order same as in the su01 transaction for that particular user->roles tab.

they shuld appear normally collapsed. they dont' appear expanded here in our case.
try to collapse the folders in the menu tab in the pfcg for respective roles.

PFCG Role Menus Translations issues

I have an issue, which i cant seem to fix or understand why it may have occured:

The problem which I am having is that we have a number of custom Transaction CODES that we just translated into the German. However in the role menus they are still displayed in English language even when you change the login language to German.
I thought the reason this issue might be occuring, is because they may have been entered into the role menu prior to the translation ever existed
But if I create a new role with the same TRANSACTION CODE they are correctly displayed.

I have executed the program "Utility for adding texts to roles", and put in one of the ROLES which is a Z ROLE
what must it show?
what i can see is the following
I put in the role name and than I select the Language DE
What i see is the TRANSACTION CODEs LIKE.
KDH3...
and i also see 2 Z transactions too, against the 2 Z transactions i see the language as DE, but the transaction text is states "NO TEXT". all the other transactions inthe role arent Z transactions and they are shoing the GERMAN Transaction text.
Correct me if im wrong Jurjen, the 2 Z transactions with the language DE is showing "NO TEXTS" i take it its these 2 that need the texts adding? but how do i add the text?
Now the other interesting point is that if I select the Language EN, and execute the report I see the english transaction text showing up, which means the german transaction text is missing.
but why arent i seeing the german equivalent text for those 2 Z transactions?

SAP delivers an utility to insert additional translation to the role menu.
Please use report PRGN_CORRMEN2 (for details refer to SAP note 3723)

Display of roles missing in BEx dialog box

Hi Experts!
I am facing an issue with BEx:
We just upgraded to Support Package 18 and afterwards all roles in the BEx dialog boxes are missing. Before upgrading everything was fine.
If we assign SAP_ALL to local users, they are able to see roles, but if we don't, they don't even see their assigned roles.
I searched the OSS and SDN but couldn't find an answer to that problem.
Any suggenstions?

Recheck the same at PFCG / SUIM for the Authorization may be they must be recheck/save/reactiavte with SAP_NEW - All new authorization objects added during an upgradation??

What is a Role option in Bex and what is its primary purpose?

What is a Role option in Bex and what is its primary purpose? My understanding is that the role option in bex is used so that everybody can able to access queries and workbooks is it right?
Please don't ditch me I already searched forum to find exact answer about it.

With SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SP Stack 6 a new dialog is available for publishing queries, Web applications and reports.
You can call this dialog from the corresponding menu bar in the BEx Query Designer, BEx Web Application Designer and BEx Report Designer. The queries, Web applications and reports are created as iViews and stored in the selected directory of the Portal Content Directory (PCD).In Bex there are three optins by which u can publish and one amongst them is roles according to which u can publish the result set of the query to roles which have authorized users assigned to them . So u can be more specific that each user can see data relevant to his cost center or his region.
The My Portfolio, CM Repository View and Collaboration Room views that you called from the dialog in the Query Designer and Web Application Designer in SAP BW 3.5 are no longer available in the same form. Now you can use the BEX Broadcaster to store the queries and Web applications as links in your personal portfolio, a folder or collaboration room.

Queries added to role in PFCG don't show up under role folder in BEX

Currently I am experiencing a very strange problem regarding the visibility of queries in the role menu of BEX. Please find below some investigation already done:
Just to avoid any authorization questions/assumptions, I have a user with SAP_NEW and SAP_ALL. He also has 2 roles (R1 and R2, no other roles) in which reports are entered using: PFCG -> +OTHER -> SAP BW Query URL.
In his SAP user menu all reports from both roles show up and are executable.
When this user open BEX Analyzer and goes to u2018Openu2019 -> u2018Open Queryu2019 and then go to u2018Rolesu2019 only R1 and its contents is visible.
The roles however are identical and contain only the following authorization objects (apart from menu entries):
S_USER_TCD: RRMX
S_TCODE: RRMX
The only difference between them is that the R1 has been created some time ago while the R2 is new.
I expect that people will tell me that S_USR_AGR is required but this isnu2019t the case since he is able to see one of the two mentioned roles (R1) and its contents in SAP BI due to SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW.
When I copy R1 to R3 and add it to the user he is also able to see this R3 in the Bex analyzer. However, when I remove all reports from R3 and add some myself in PFCG these new entries do not show up in Bex analyzer, even though I re-added the report(s) I removed earlier in the exact same way.
The same for the original R1, when I add new entries they arenu2019t visible although the u2018oldu2019 ones are.
When I check the only table I know that holds SAP menu entries all links show up, this also explains why in his SAP user menu he sees all links. Does anyone know how (which tables) the BEX Analyzer gets the appropriate roles and role entries when a user wants to open a query?
What can be the issue here; to me it feels like something has changed in the system that prevents BEX to read all roles properly?

there is a known issue at the moment whereby workbooks/queries and roles are no longer
visable due to the following.....
The settings in SSM_CUST defines a compress mechanism for the user menu
known as "Redundancy avoidance" and described in notes 357877 and 357693
Redundancy avoidance deletes easy access menu entries for doubled
transaction codes whenever SSM_CUST contains
1. an entry CONDENSE_MENU with PATH = 'YES' and
2. either an entry DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODE with PATH = 'YES' or no entry
DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODES, at all.
If you don't want doubled transaction codes to be deleted, then simply
add an entry DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODES with PATH = 'NO' into table SSM_CUST.
Please enter
DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODES with PATH = 'NO' into table SSM_CUST
and retest this issue...

How to set the XML tree to be collapsed by default at run time?

I am developing a simple software in Java, to improve my programming skills, the output of this program is an XML file. I am very new to XML. My question is that, every time the XML file is opened the tree is in expanded form, which appears to be the default setting at run time. I want it to be fully collapsed when the XML file is opened. I have read about certain solutions to this problem by using XSL or CSS. I am not familiar with XSL at the moment so I have not explored it yet. Is there any other way around this problem.
I would like someone to just point me in the right direction so that I can eventually get to the answer.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

If you are asking to control the XML display in text editor when the XML is opened, I think you can't control it through the java. How the individual editor shows the XML is their property. For example, if you open the file in notepad, you may not get the pretty XML however if you open if the file in XML editor like XMLSpy, you may get its hierarchical representation.

Cannot see BEx Query in user role profile in BEx query designer

I assigned several BEx query objects into user profile menu via t-code PFCG first.
Then expected - when I need and open them in BEx query designer I could find them after clicking "Role" button in "Open" window. But unfortuantely I'm not able to do that.
Do I miss anything to archive that? Is other customizing activity else neccessary?

Hi Brad.Ma,
If you can open query from Area "button", after that, you publish it to roles you want assign.
You try generate Authoriation in Role in Tcode PFCG.

Error Message when I click on "Roles" Tab in BeX Portal New Analysis.

When I go to the BeX Portal -> BeX Web Analyzer -> New Analysis -> Roles, I get the following error:
"Components XXX (version A) do not exist on the database
Components XXX (version D) do not exist on the database
Components XXX (version M) do not exist on the database"
When I click on the messages, the screen that comes up gives the following info:
"Diagnosis
You have attempted to open query XXX from the Query Designer. However, this query does not exist in the database in the system to which you have made a connection.
System Response
Opening the query was terminated.
Procedure
Make sure that you have connected to the correct BW system. Note: The query may have been deleted by another user."
But there have been no query deletions after the Role tab moved in.
Please suggest what could be the reason behind this. And what should be done to resolve this.

Try using table RSZELTDIR
This contains details on queies and all elements that make up the query such as variable, key figs etc..
In the error you should be getting a string someting like: D19UMFAK5JTYJ31B30BRGSQEU
In this table I would recomend just taking the first 8 or so cahracters of this string followed by *
ie: D19UMFAK* - in the ID selection field.

How can I make a jQuery accordion panel tab collapsed by default?

I have Googled this and saw that someone recommended placing the 'collapsible' option before the 'active' one. For example,

I am completely new to Dreamweaver. I inserted a jQuery UI Accordion into my web page because I need a drop-down list. I have a main .css file for my page. Additional jquery css files were added after I inserted the accordion. (For example, I see jquery.ui.core.min.css, jquery.ui.theme.min.css, jquery.ui.caccordion.min.css, jquery-1.8.3.min.js, jquery-ui-1.9.2.accordion.custom.min.js).
I see a section in jquery-ui-1.9.2.accordion.custom.min.js where I think I might be able to change these settings, but I just want to make sure.

Yes, setting collapsible to true (so all sections can collapse at once) and then setting no section as active, it will start completely collapsed, e.g.:
$( ".accordion" ).accordion({collapsible:true,active:false});
Do note this is being applied to a container element with the "class" of 'accordion' and not the ID, per your code. If it's ID then use:
$( "#accordion" ).accordion({collapsible:true,active:false});

BEx Web Printing - Default Page size

BEx Collapses when running a report

Hi Experts ,
I am facing an issue while running a report for a cube which has BWA index built on it. When I run the query the query designer collapses with a error message as "critical Error".
This was an existing cube we recently added a field there.The data volume is too high, so I do not want to rebuild the indexes and try. It takes 1 hour to rebuild the indexes.

Having the Ken Burns effect off (by default)

When I select pictures for a diaporama, the Ken Burns effect is always checked in the "settings" window.
Is it possible to avoid that ? (I very rarely want to use the Ken Burns effect, and have to select the "settings" windows and un-check it each time).
