Having trouble downloading Flash

per say I go to a site like youtube, it tells me I need to
install the latest flash player. I go to the site click download
and the blue bar doesn't come up it just says "done". Even the few
times it did come up after I would click install the box would go
away and nothing would happen. I expect this to be my Norton
antivirus, but I would hate to have to unistall the whole software
just for this. Is there something specific I can do under "internet
options" that would adjust some type of settings?
Thanks!

For 3 days I've been uninstalling /reinstalling and it's
driving me crazier. The only place flash plug in shows is in the
add/remove area for my xp OE. Is this a zipped file needing
attention and if so where is it? I did a computer search and
everything else adobe shows but not the flash. There is no error
message it just is not showing anywhere including programs.
If this isn't the right place to ask for help maybe someone
can direct me to proper forum.
Thanks much,
LindaC in OK, just a nice senior lady needing help

  • Why am I having trouble downloading Flash?

I was under the assumpiton that Flash (and FlashPlayer) came as part of the OS 10.9 package.
It isn't there.  And when I try to downoad it from Adobe or other sites, the file simply doesn't trasfer over. I'm not talking about the small "Installer". I mean the actual program the Installer plugs in?
What am I doing wrong?  Could this be something in my Safari Preferences dealing with Cookies, Plug-ins or Security? I know little about those settings.

I was happy with Safari, but didn't want to go on a fishing expedition just to enable a Flash download,
I hear you about Chrome.  I'll give Firefox a try.
There is no fishing. Just download it. If you cannot download the Flash Player installer from Adobe's website, you have something wrong with your system that will affect more than downloading Flash.
I tried to ask for more information on that problem, but you responded with more conflicting info.
I'm guessing that you downloaded the installer dmg, mounted that, then ran Adobe's installer?
    Is that correct?
If so, Where do you run into the problem? It will ask you to quit Safari, and if it is running on a background user, you'll need to quit it there, too. Otherwise, the install won't complete.

  • I am having trouble downloading flash player on windows vista, can anyone help

I've tried everything installed, uninstalled, restarted, downloaded, enabled, prompt, changed adminstrator.I need help

Hi, ok that's good. Since you don't have any Anti-Virus program installed, you need to go ahead and Install the AVG, just
follow the instructions. Then be sure to Restart your computer.
Download the Uninstaller for Flash Player here and SAVE it to your Desktop:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer for IE:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer for Firefox:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
    Before you begin:
Using IE, go to Tools, Internet Options and under the Security Tab make sure it is set to Medium for the Internet Zone.
Disconnect from the Internet, check the system tray and make sure to disable any applications that use Flash. Refer to the Uninstaller instructions.
You should have an AVG icon in your system tray. Open the user interface & double click on the Resident Shield and UN tick the "option Resident Shield active", and SAVE the changes. Next find the LinkScanner, double click on it and UN tick the "Enable AVG Search-Shield" and the "Enable Active Surf-Shield" SAVE the Changes.
Don't connect back to the Internet until that step is listed.
Now Run the Uninstaller from your Desktop, when finished, Restart your computer. Then Restart again (to clear old files)
Now Run the Installer for IE and when finished, Restart your computer Once.
Then Run the Installer for FF and when finished, Restart your computer Once.
Now Re-Enable the AVG steps you took to Disable.
Now you will connect back to the Internet.
Then go here to the test site:http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
You can check your websites. Post back when you are all finished.
If you have any questions before or after, just post.
    Thanks,
    eidnolb

  • Am still having trouble downloading Adobe Flash Player.

Am still having trouble downloading Adobe Flash Player.

Count your blessings. You're better off without it.
If you insist upon having Flash Player, there is one and only one URL from which to download it:
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
You must also enable plug-ins in Safari. Make your Safari Preferences look like this:
FYI this is the legitimate Flash Player installer:
    This one is bogus:

  • Having trouble downloading Adobe Flash CS6 trial

I'm having trouble downloading the trial for Flash CS6, I download Adobe Dowload Assistant and I click on "Open" when it tells me to, but then it says "Sorry, an error has occured. This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance." I've tried dowloading it several times, restarting my computer, everything.  I have a Mac OS X v10.7.5

Could you test with the below 2 steps first?
    1> Install latest AIR runtime(http://get.adobe.com/air/)
2> With latest AIR runtime installed, re-install AIR applications
    Another guide from colleage:
1> Make sure you uninstall the AIR application(some drops from the prerelease program of Adobe).
2> Install the latest AIR application again.
The reason is that the same application exported with different certificates, and the new one conflicts with the old one.

  • I am having trouble downloading an extension for flash, despite having the most up to date flash version for Adobe Manager Extension CC. What would cause this to happen?

I am having trouble downloading an extension for flash, despite having the most up to date flash version for Adobe Manager Extension CC. What would cause this to happen? It says I need to have flash 7 or higher. I have the most update flash available according to my browsers.

If you are using Flash Pro CC 2014, please update Extension Manager CC to 7.2.1. Then please confirm whether Flash is shown in the product panel of Extension Manager CC. If not, please refer to Re: Why can't I see InDesign CC in my Extension Manager CC.

Thanks for your reply, however I just got it working.  I read somewhere on Adobe pages, a connection with Google Chrome.  I had it on my computer so I uninstalled it.  Along with resetting Firefox to defaults.  I have no idea other than that, what I did, but suddenly it installed!
Its been such a frustration all day because it HAS been working just fine until this morning.  Spooky!
    Thanks again,

  • Having trouble downloading adobe update on safari

Probably Flash. If so, get the DMG installer here.

Don't think this is what you mean, but after downloading it must be installed--with all browsers closed.
