Having trouble downloading InCopy.Installer failed to initialize

I am a freelance editor and need to install InCopy for an assignment. I have downloaded it via a link that was sent to me by my publisher. Every time I try to install the program, I get an error messages saying: "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file" I have downloaded the file multiple times and get the same message every time. I need this program up and running by Wednesday for an online tutorial where I'll learn how to operate the program. What am I doing wrong here? Please advise.

Without proper system information or other details like what version of IC nobody can really tell you anything.

That LOOKS like you are trying to install to the D drive instead of the default C drive... true?
What happens if you install to the default C drive?
What happens if you right click the installer and select "Run as Administrator" from the option list?

Photoshop CS5 installation trouble - ' Installer failed to initialize '

Greetings,
Having trouble with a CS5 photoshop installation on my 4,1 2.5ghz 6gb RAM MBP. Download goes fine, disc mounts to machine, but I get stuck on the ' Installer failed to initialize' page. Downloaded the reccomended support advisor app, which cannot find a solution to my problem.
The log reveals the error:
[FATAL] Setup - Unable to copy PDAppFlex.swf one level up.
Not sure where to go from here. I've downloaded the dmg 2x, done numerous restarts, tried the cs5 cleanup tool, repair permissions....no dice.
I should mention that I have a 48gb SSD with my OS (10.6.3) as well as a 200gb drive which has my user account on it, separate from the OS. Not sure if this is part of the issue?

In order to test the utility perform the following steps -
Goto /Applications/Utilities and launch Terminal application. This will open a window and show you the command prompt like machine-name: user$. ditto is a command to copy files, so type ditto then drag a file to the terminal, and drag a folder to the terminal. This will create a command similar to -
ditto /Users/username/Desktop/fileToCopy.txt /Users/username/Desktop/folder/
Now hit return to run the command. If the command succeedes you will not see any error on the terminal and the file (as fileToCopy.txt) will get copied to destination folder (as /Users/username/Desktop/folder/)
In case you see any error on the terminal or the file is not getting copied to the destination folder, 'ditto' might be corrupted.

I receive a message when trying to open Photoshop CS6, Illustrator CS6, etc., then when I try to follow the directions for troubleshooting, the installer fails to initialize.
Error message: "Adobe Application Manager is needed to resolve this problem. However it is missing or damaged". Then, after download, the program fails to load and displays this message: "Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem". When following the link, Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued 'because their products are now so stable. -I can see how stable they are.. How do I get assistance with Installer issues?

start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.

if, your error is:
"Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."
first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.
to find OOBE:
64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps
mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB
if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
if you're using a dvd to install:
copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
if you're using a mac:
1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
5. Start the installation again.

Did you unzip the entire contents of the download zip file onto your hard drive before running the installer? You need to do that.
I have installed it myself and it went in just fine.

InDesign CS6 trial download: "Installer failed to initialize"

Hi, I have successfully downloaded Adobe InDesign CS6, using the Download Manager Software. When I click on 'Install", a window appears with a progress bar ("Adobe Installer"), and the bar gets about 2/3 through, then I get an error message saying "We've encountered the following issues. Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." Then a link to download Adobe Support Advisor, or button to Quit.
So, I downloaded and ran Adobe Support Advisor. After initializing, the software tells me "no issues detected."
- My machine meets the system reqs for InDesign CS6
- Obviously I have tried restarting my machine and running all these steps again. Still getting the error.

Okay, Mylenium, here are my system specs:
Mac os x version 10.6.8, 4gigs memory, 2.3GHz Intel Core i7 Processor, 470 Gigs of available hard drive space.
I have run all of Apple's software updates up to today, and I have also run cleanup and Disk Utility repairs just in case these are a factor. Still getting the error message with the "Failure to initialize install."
Also: I have installed on my machine InDesign, Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, Dreamweaver CS5.
Can you help me?

download both files, don't manually extract the 7z and click or double click the exe.

My PC got infected with virus and i was using avast, intead of repairing the files it deleted them. so i had to reinstall most of the softwares. but for photoshop i had to use "adobe creative suite cleaner tool" and "adobe support advisor", but though i get this error "Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?

Two things to try. Try another browser, if you used Firefox try IE9, or chrome, or whatever. Sometimes just trying it again might work as server was busy or there was a gllitch in connection.
