Having trouble getting and sending email -road runner, verizon on new ipad
My new ipad is great except I am having issues with email. I tried making all the settings match my iiphone which is finally working properly but there is one setting that it will not let me change which I believe is the critical one. Anyone have a fix?

I am having problems with my outlook 2011. While i am able to check and SEND email on all my other devices ( Ipad, iphone, Macbook), I am unablesend any email with my iMac ( i can recieve email) . I think you have to turn off Private Browsing.
Tap "Private" on Safari Screen to disable Private Browsing. When top of screen is white, Private Browsing is off.

Probably because you made an incorrect entry during the setup on the iPod. Sometimes it is easer to delete the account on the iPod and reenter the setting rather than trying to find and correct erros. Google: setup "your email provider" on iphone for details of how to set up mail for your provider. If you provid your provider someone here might give some details.

You should always keep a copy of everything onyour computer. If you did not do this, then they are gone.

I have an IPhone 5. Software is up to date. Having problems receiving texts and sending them. Sometimes it take for the phone to be shut down and restarted before the texts are received.

The basic way malware works is that it runs a program on the device. However, the iOS does not allow any program to be downloaded or installed onto the device, unless they are from the App Store. And Apple thoroughly checks all apps submitted by app-developers before allowing them onto the App Store.
In essence, imagine that there is a fortress that has absolutely only one entrance; a guarded front gate. And the guards will only let in people that have proper identification. Without that identification, they will not open the gate.
The fortress is the iOS device. The guards are the operating system. The identification is the App Store.
You didn't come from the App Store? Then you can't come in. It's as simple as that. -

When I'm trying to sync photos from PC to Ipad the directions say to Launch I tunes and an icon will appear on the left side. Mine appears on the right side. In general the directions for moving photos to Ipad from computer are vague. Shoud I make a special folder on my PC for the pictures I want to move before I even start? If you have iTunes 11 then you can enable the left-hand side bar via control-S on a PC. You should then be able to connect and select the iPad on that left-hand sidebar, and then use the Photos tab on the right-hand side to sync your photos to it.
Synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync - so if you want the currently synced photos to remain on the iPad then you will need to include their folders in the next sync. I created a separate folder on my computer with sub-folders underneath it with the photos that I want on the iPad - I can select that folder on the Photos tab in iTunes, and the sub-folders then get their own albums on the iPad (if you have folders underneath those sub-folders then their photos will be included in the sub-folder's album i.e. you can't have albums within albums). -

I am having trouble getting mail from the shaw server that my new iMac is connected to. I have to reboot the system to get Outlook for Mac to access the system and obtain new messages. Any ideas? Its at the point where I have started using the PC again as its less trouble.......
In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".<br />

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy -

It started when I brought it to the US on vacation (I live in London and my email provider is Virgin Media). It worked once since I returned, but that is it.

I have the same issue as i have my own email address and only want to use.
There are two ways around this annoying problem. The first is to set up your own domain email account alongside your iCloud one, and when you go to send each email tap on From and you get a choice of emails addresses to reply from... ie your own domain or the iCloud one. This is tedious though.
The other is to set up your iCloud email as normal, then create a new one altogether. Choose 'Other' when creating this new account. Then put for the incoming server mail.me.com, along with your user name and password. For the outgoing server put the server you want to use - ie your own domain one. This is therefore a hybrid account and does work.
Now switch off the email for iCloud (leaving on Calendar, Address Book etc). Switch on the email for your hybrid account (which of course is iCloud incoming as well).
Providing you have directed your own domain email address to your me.com one, you will find the iPhone should behave itself and you can use the folders etc and these will synch with your Mac ok.

That sounds like a settings issue to me. Check with your IT depatment to make sure you have it configured properly.

I am having the same issue but only with AOL. I deleted the account and am trying to set it up again without any luck. I've been trying to get it to work all day. I called AOL and Apple. No suggestions beyond what I already tried.

The Apple IDs from @mac.com and @me.com (Older MobileMe and more recent iCloud Names) are also Valid AIM Screen names.
Any other sort of Apple ID is not a Valid AIM Name.
A Google ID that is associated with Google Mail Account (And has "Talk" enable on your Google Settings) can be used in iChat as Jabber Name/ID. (Google Run Jabber server).
Jabber and AIM are different IM Services and it is not easy or straight forward to add Buddies from one Service to the Buddy List of another. (As A Starting point consider it "impossible")
iChat 4 and 5 have links to the registration page of @Mac.com here with a "Get an iChat Account" button in the add (Account) screen (You select @mac.com or MobileMe and then press the Button - Choosing AIM and then pressing the button used to lead to the AIM registration page but AIM moved their page).
Apple IDs can be any valid email (or an @mac.com or iCloud registration)
Therefore you could make a Google ID into an Apple ID.
However this will not be a valid AIM Screen Name the way @mac.com or MobileMe/iCloud ones are.
