Having Trouble Installing Flash 10.3.183.10
I try to install the new flash player but it won't initialize. The only thing that happens at all is a little yellow exclamation point pops up under my cursor for about a second and then goes away. I have tried everything from the troubleshooting provided but nothing seems to work. I do not get an error message of any kind. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
First: many thanks, since now I can read Flash content on Firefox. For any interested, here is the sequence I followed:
Installing latest version Adobe Flash Player on a Mac.
For Firefox and Safari, assure you have the current versions, as well as the latest updates of OS 10.n.n
For Firefox:
Go to Adobe.com and navigate to the Flash Player free download. Click to download and save to your location choice.
Open it: you get a window with the Flash ‘box’ labeled ‘Install Adobe Flash Player’.
Double click: then click ‘Open’
You get the ‘Adobe Flash Player 10.3 installer’ window.
read the license and THEN,
Click in the gray box to the left of ‘I have read . . .’
Click the ‘INSTALL’ button, and follow the prompts.
This was successful for Firefox.
BUT, still not working on Safari. Please, help. Thanks in advance.

The majority of users have trouble installing Flash Catalyst CS5 when they have not properly run the uninstaller on a previous version (typically a beta version).
If this is the case, the first thing you should try is running the Adobe CS5 cleanup script: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/829/cpsid_82947.htmlFlash Player Protected Mode provides a modern, sophisticated set of security protections that we see as critical in today's security landscape.
We highly recommend that users not disable ProtectedMode. Also, it's worth noting that by manually changing your mms.cfg, you have opted out of Protected Mode for all future versions of Flash Player, as we will continue to honor that preference. This puts your system at risk, and that risk will continue to grow over time.
Ultimately, this is an issue with the RealPlayer Browser Record plug-in. There is a more technical explanation in the Mozilla bug referenced above in the thread, but the simplified version is that the security enhancements designed to prevent the introduction of malware via Flash Player make RealPlayer Browser Record plug-in no longer compatible with Flash Player for Firefox. You can disable the record functionality to eliminate this issue, while retaining the ability to view both Flash and Real Player content.
To disable the Real Player Browser Record functionality while maintaining the enhanced security provided by Flash Player with Protected Mode, do the following:
Launch RealPlayer
Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper-left corner of the window, and choose Preferences
Choose Download & Recording from the left-hand menu
Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browser"

Having trouble installing Flash 11.3 on Firefox
I was having trouble upgrading to the newest version of flash. I kept getting the error that flash was already running, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't. I read through the tips and saw it was suggested to uninstall and then reinstall flash. So I downloaded and ran the flash uninstaller. I successfully uninstalled the application. I tried to re-download and continued to get the error that flash was running even though it had been uninstalled. At this point I don't know what to do. It should be noted that the problem all began when I found my computer had contracted TextEnhance. I found the cure was disabling Shockwave Flash, which made me unable to watch flash videos. So when I clicked the error box on the video it directed me to Adobe Flash 11.3 download, which I am trying to install in place of Shockwave because Shockwave seems to be the source of my TextEnhance problems. For what it's worth, disabling Shockwave has cured my computer of TextEnhance. Any help in making it so I can watch flash videos would be much appreciated
What is your operating system & version?
Can you post a screenshot of that message ("already running")?
I suggest that you remove any malware before retrying to install.

I'm having trouble installing Flash Player 11.3.300.257
Last week I got an automatic pop up to update Flash Player. I did as I normally do and a little while later I noticed that Flash Player is no longer working on my computer.
My system:
Dell Precision Workstation 690
Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit)
Mozilla Firefox 12.0
I have full administrative rights on this computer
I can provide other info as requested.
The steps I have taken so far:
The initial update installation appeared to work normally with no hang ups or delays. At the end of the installation Firefox opened to the Adobe page saying the installation was succesful. However, it became clear when I tried to watch video on Youtube and other sites that Flash was not operational.
I went to the Flash download page again and tried the installation again, but had the exact same result.
I checked the Plug-Ins in Firefox tools and it verified I have the latest plug ins installed for Flash Player.
Rebooted the system and tried again. Same result. (I later shut down the system overnight and the next day tried again with the same result)
I found the Flash Player uninstaller and ran that. Rebooted. Installed latest version. Same result as before (Installation seems to complete as normal but Flash is not working).
I tried a clean installation per these instructions; http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315
I got the exact same result as before.
Throughout the process, including after the clean install, I have checked this page http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
Each time I see the same thing - Under where it says "Can you see the movie below?" I see nothing. No movie and not even a grey box. Just blank white page until I see the box saying "Yes I can" and "No I can't".
In another thread similar to this ( http://forums.adobe.com/message/4421001#4421001 ), someone asked the original poster this:
"What files do you have in
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash ?
C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash ?
Can you also post the contents of the FlashInstall.log files from both these folders?"
In a pre-emptive effort if it helps anyone, this is my answer to that request:
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash ?
FlashInstall.log
FlashUtil64_11_3_300_257_Plugin.exe
NPSWF64_11_3_300_257.dll
C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash ?

FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe
FlashUtil32_11_3_300_257_plugin.exe

I have never had an issue updating Flash Player on this computer before and nothing of any significance has changed (ie, hardware, software, admin rights, etc). I'm at a total loss and I would appreciate any advice anyone could give.Flash Player Protected Mode provides a modern, sophisticated set of security protections that we see as critical in today's security landscape.

Anyone having trouble installing Flash Player with latest Firefox?
I can't get Flash Player to work on Firefox (Windows 8.1). Works just fine in IE but when I try to add it as an add-on for Firefox it goes to manual install and then fails, with message that it is already running in another application. I disabled it in IE in case that was the problem, but using the Check function shows it isn't on my computer. I've tried the things on the Help page but my Firefox (most current version) menu doesn't have any of the options shown such as enable Java. I have even tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox. I already have Shockwave for Director as an add-on, but even before I put that in it happened.
The ActiveX plugin for IE functions independently of the Firefox plugin.
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Download (Save - DON'T run) that and reboot.
Run it from your Downloads folder. -
having trouble installing flash player, keep getting "certificate authentication failed", did all the troubleshooting - did "unistall" stil nothing works. Any suggestions
What is your operating system & version?

Try uninstalling flash player using these directions. They
were posted by BWolfe from Adobe in another msg..
ONE: Identify possibly leftover Flash player bits
a. Open C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash folder.
b. Download the latest FP uninstaller from
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157.
c. Run the uninstaller. If you get a notice saying you need
to reboot, then reboot.
d. Look at C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash folder.
e. Does any file ending in .ocx remain? (flash.ocx,
flasha.ocs, flash9d.ocx etc...)
e1. If no, then you don't usually have any leftover locked
bits.
You're done with this part of the problem, go to the Adobe
home page and see if you can install the latest version of the
Flash Player.
e2. If yes, then that remaining .ocx file may be locked.
Right click it
and select properties and look at the version tab.
What is the version number?
f. Is the version number Flash Player 9.0.16.0 or earlier?
f1. Use the uninstaller instructions from this technote:
http://www.adobe.com/go/4da116d3
-- section "Flash Player 9.0.16.0 and earlier"
-- DO NOT re-register the uninstaller. ONLY do this
UninstFl.exe part.
Yes, you'll need to know how to use the command line to do
this. If you're not
comfortable with that then take your machine to someone who
is!
g. Is the version number Flash Player 9.0.28.0 or higher?
g1. Use the uninstaller instructions from this technote:
http://www.adobe.com/go/4da116d3
-- section "Flash Player 9 (9.0.28.0) and later"
-- DO NOT re-register the uninstaller. ONLY do this
UninstFl.exe part.
In both the D and E sections above you'll need to use the
specific name of the control that remains
in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash. So if you had a
stuck flash9b.ocx[DJM1] in the folder
and version was 9.0.28.0, your uninstall command would look
like this:
UninstFl.exe -u
c:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9b.ocx
That said, if you have trouble running these commands it
really is necessary to find someone who knows how
to use the command line, either a friend or a local
professional. Or spend some time learning about the
command line yourself.
h. RERUN the uninstaller you downloaded earlier. This should
get rid of the remaining (now unlocked) .ocx file and fix any
registry keys associated with it.
ALL of section "ONE: Identify possibly leftover Flash player
bits" is important. BUT this locked bit problem only happens on
maybe one out of 50 machines. So most people with installation
problems such as this are not going to have locked bits. -
Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe flash player on a MacBook Pro?
Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe flash player on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.7.5?
Thanks for your help here is what I did so far!
I have uninstalled Adobe and reinstalled it, I've tried restarting my browser, then my MacBook Pro without any success!
When I click on the Apple in the upper left hand corner and open System Preferences I can see Adobe Flash Player on the bottom under the Other section.
If I open Adobe up and check the version it tells me that I have the most recent version!
I even uninstalled Adobe and installed the newest Beta version, but Adobe is still not working! If I check for the latest version it tells me that I do have the latest beta version, but it still doesn't work!
If the person who made the video used any other video player it works!
Their player, plays the video without a problem! -

You'll continue to have trouble, because...
There is no more Flash Player for Android and there won't be another. Android is no longer compatible with Flash Player. Playing Flash content is very processor consumptive and it drains your battery, also shortening the life of it. Android (Google) recommends using either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" as your browser if you need to view Flash content with a mobile device running Android. They're both free in the GooglePlay store.
These browsers use "server side" rendering to reduce the load on your device. -

It will not install your machine is close to 7 years old and the newest Flash Player will not install on that old of an Operating System.
If you have flash on there already then thats probably the best your going to get.
You can Google and see what is the latest version for your Operating System.
