Having trouble navigating away from a page with streaming video or using menu items-extremly slow to react

I watch twit.tv daily. anytime I am on the twit page and try to open another tab or try to use a menu item it takes an extremly long time to react to mouse click. At least 15 to 30 seconds. This started happening several updates ago for version 3.6.

So, since I got no reply to my question I took the iPod into the Apple store and tried to dock it to another third party device. Same problem, no digital control of the iPod. After about 30 minutes of looking it over, the Apple Genius agreed the issue was likely hardware related and issued me a replacement. So apart from about an hour of my time in the store and however long it will take me to reload my library, I'm rather pleased.

How to Prevent Navigating Away From a Page?

Hi all,
I�m developing a JSF application using IBM Rational Application Developer v6.0 and have this scenario:
Background:
I have a page that acts as a 3 step wizard. It also contains links to other pages. The page has a corresponding �pagecode� bean with a request scope and another managed bean with a session scope and basically everything happens here, all the action and action listeners. Also this managed bean handles three important events the �page load�, �page load ends�, and �page post�.
Desired Behavior:
I want to enforce the user to complete all three steps of the wizard without navigating away from this wizard like page by displaying a message �hey you must complete all three steps� or something like that :).
Problem:
The user can click on other links on the page and navigate away from the wizard without completing all three steps.
Any suggestions to this issue would be of great help.

Thanks for your solution. Would this also work for normal html navigation? My understanding that this may only work for the JSF framework navigation rules. On the other hand I also have plain html links on the page and not really sure if the JSF framework also handles these types of navigation.
This maybe a partial solution though and I really appreciate this.

Navigating away from current page

I have an annoying problem that hopefully someone will possibly have a solution to with there browser knowledge. I have an account with a music promotional company they service me with music from their site. There are clickable links that download a .zip file when clicked on or CTL clicked on. The problem is when I select a file to download Safari (and FF) doesn't let me navigate away from the page it seems stuck and the blue 'loading' box appears and I can go to any other web pages whilst the download is in progress. Has anyone any ideas what this could be? I have Click to Flash installed but I can't see that being the problem? This also happens with FF so its not necessarily a Safari problem but nevertheless I'm sure someone will have an idea whats going on?

From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Click to Flash I doubt has anything to do this download issue.
Try emptying the cache and resetting Safari and see if it makes a diffeerence.
For Firefox ...
1. From the Tools menu, select Clear Recent History... .
2. From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select Everything.
3. Click the down arrow next to "Details" to choose what history elements to clear. Click Clear Now.
Firefox 3 for Mac OS X
1. In Firefox, from the Tools menu, select Clear Private Data.
2. Make sure Cache and Cookies are checked, and then click Clear Private Data Now.

Having Trouble Moving Apps From One Page to Another

I can easily move apps around on the same page. But I can't seem to move an app from one page to another. They stop at the side of the screen and won't move to the next page. Is there a secret to this or does it take fancy dexterity?

It takes a little dexterity but if you have 9 pAges of apps then it takes pure magic to move any to the
Tenth page. I still haven't been able to do it. I've discovered how to delete those pesky defAult apps though. You put them on the ninth page then drag another app onto page nine and push the other one right off. Disappears forever

Blank Page with streaming video on Explorer

A few weeks ago (after downloading one of the recent QT updates) I completely lost the ability to view streaming video on the internet. Now when I click on a video clip using IE7 I can see that the clip is downloading, but when it completes the download all I get is a blank white page. No "?" or "Q" or anything. In the bottom left hand corner of the browser there is a yellow triangle with a an exclamation point in it and the word "Done" next to it. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing QT several times. Ihave also tried changing all of the file preference settings. Any help would be greatle appreciated.

We've seen this as well in Vista and XP with IE7. One of the machines (XP) also ends up with IE7 crashing after the movie doesn't play (the movie occassionally will play, but not often).

Reinstalling QT & IE7 did not help. Firefox on the same machines plays the movie fine.

I am having troubles receiving files from my phone with Bluetooth

So, I am trying to send pictures from my phone to my MacBook Pro via Bluetooth. I have looked at other topics saying under "Sharing" in System Preferences I just have to check the bluetooth part and it will work but it still doesnt work. The only trouble I am having really is finding the files that are sent. I have it set to go to my Documents but I cant find it there. Any help would be great.

Iphone supports bluetooth for stereo headsets/speakers, telephone headsets/handsfree devices, some peer-to-peer apps from the app store, some keyboards and tethering where provided by the carrier.
Other than this, it will not connect to any phone/device/computer/etc.

How can I set the new version of firefox so that things I write in journals and other things are remembered in case I accidentally navigate away from the page?

In Firefov version 3 there is a feature that will remember what I have typed in a journal or note entry before posting it. This is not like an autofill because the test disappears if I navigate too many pages away from it. The usefulness of it was that if I accidentally navigated away from the page before sending my message or posting my journal, I could just press the back button and what I had written previously would still be there. I had to return to version 3.6.19 because version 5 does not seem to have this feature enabled unless you preform a very specific routine. You have to re-enable the ability of firefox to save tabs when exiting. then you have to close down firefox while saving the tab with the page you wish to write a journal on pulled up. Then when you bring firefox back up, you can type on the saved page and if you accidentally navigate away from it, you can hit the back button and it is saved. However, this goes away when you refresh the page or try it on any other page. I would like to know if it would be possible for me to enable this feature on firefox 5, or if I will have to continue using version 3.

This issue can be caused gadgets on the Facebook page.
You will have to check that out by removing each of them until you find the culprit.

SWF in PDF stops playing after navigating away from page

I have a PDF ebook with SWF movies embedded each movie is a music track controller that plays a track from a soundtrack to the book.
I want readers to be able to play the tracks while they read the book.
This works fine in Acrobat. But in Digital Editions, as soon as I navigate away from the page showing the track controllers/SWF movies, the movie/track stops playing.
Is there any way around this? Perhaps there are technical limitations to a Flash-based app. at play here.

The information below may be able to answer your questions about how to delete songs from your iPhone:
Deleting songs downloaded to your device
Tap the Music app.
Tap More > Songs at the bottom.
Scroll or search for the song you would like to delete from your device.
Swipe right to left on the song, and then tap Delete.
Note: You must be in Artists, Songs, or Albums view to delete songs from your device. Deleting from a playlist won't remove a song from your iOS device.

Remove a song from iPhone. Tap Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.
If you have iOS 7, this will delete the song from local storage, but the song will still appear with a cloud symbol in the Music app, as you've noticed. To hide the iTunes in the Cloud purchases, navigate to Settings > iTunes & App Store, and disable "Show All: Music”
There may be a few orphaned songs on your iPhone that were partially downloaded or corrupted in some way. If that is the case, you can erase all of the music from your phone. Follow the instructions below and select the Music app under Usage:

If you REALLY want to use the stock Photos (I wouldn't as it has major problems as is also explained both at http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/all-one-photo-viewer-roundup-70-price-drop-bes t-image-viewer and in the https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3812013?start=345&tstart=0 thread here - look directly at the first two messages), you need to ceate subfolders in parallel to the original ones. Then, the previously synched pics won't disappear.
But, again, I do NOT recommend using the built-in Photos. Using third-party apps like Photo Manager Pro is the way to go until Apple fix the issues with Photos.
