Having trouble running applets..Pls help

I have been playing with installing, reinstalling various JREs and now none of the applets won't run. If anyone has an idea, please let me know. Here's the log from console. It looks like it is able to download, but unable to find class files. The website I visited was http://www.cmol.nbi.dk/models/epitrans/transcript.html, but it does not matter as I see the same error of class not found.

Check your server logs. Check to confirm that the request for transcript.class came through. If so, check to see the response code, bytes sent, and check the error log to see if there were any errors. It would also be good to check the web server configuration to see whether it's configured to properly send .class files; in particular check to see the mime type it uses for that file. You can and should also use curl or the like to see if you can download the .class file through the web server properly.

Having troubles running iTunes! I downloaded iTunes just fine, but when I try to open it, it tells me iTunes is in a locked disk or I dont have permissions to write to this folder. Please help! I purchased an iPod for my son and wanted to put music on it.

    Hello there KRerssig,
I was looking through our resources and found an article with information regarding that error message. The article is called iTunes for Windows XP: "Disk is locked" or "iTunes folder cannot be found" when installing or opening iTunes found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1866.
Here is the text but the article contains images for a visual reference:
Verify the location of your Windows XP My Music folder. The default location for this folder is
    C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music
If you do not have this folder at the default location and have not moved it to another location, consider creating one inside your My Documents folder.
Download and install Tweak UI from the Microsoft PowerToys website athttp://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Note: This utility is for Windows XP only. Please review the system requirements before installing.
Once you have installed Tweak UI, open it from the Start menu.
In the column on the left, click on the plus symbol next to My Computer and select Special Folders.
In the right pane under Special Folders, choose My Music from the Folder pop-up menu.
Click the Change Location button. You may see a warning message appear with precautions for changing this setting; after reviewing the message, click Yes.
In the resulting window, browse for the My Music folder as described in step 1, and click OK.
    Reinstall or open iTunes.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, the settings for the current user may be corrupted, which could cause iTunes not to install or open. You may have to install and open iTunes in a different Windows user account.
    All the best,
    Sterling

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Why am I having trouble running Adobe Flash Player 11 on my 2011 Macbook Air? I've downloaded and installed it repeatedly; yet when I try to open certain images online or play certain Youtube segments, I get the message, "You must have Adobe Flash 11..."

Why am I having trouble running Adobe Flash Player 11 on my 2011 Macbook Air? I've downloaded and installed it repeatedly; yet when I try to open certain images online or play certain Youtube segments, I get the message, "You must have Adobe Flash 11..."  My computer tells me it is installed and running.

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 5.
    1. If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, sign in to your YouTube account and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    2. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    3. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    4. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    5. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    6. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    7. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • Having trouble running Dreamweaver on new Windows 8 laptop.  No trouble running it on Windows 7.

Having trouble running Dreamweaver on new Windows 8 laptop.  No trouble running it on Windows 7.

    Thanks for your reply.
When I tried downloading Dreamweaver CS6 onto my laptop, it took over 2 hrs to download, then it compressed it into a Zip file which I was never able to open.
Not sure why I am having so much trouble. We’ve had no issue loading onto our Windows 7 lab, however, we are not successful using the download on my work laptop.
We are going to try again, however, it this doesn’t work, perhaps I should try the trial download – and take it from there?
    Thank you in advance.

I am having trouble running .mov files on my ipad. What can I do?
    Thanks.

go to the app store and search .mov   The pad plays a certain set of file types, but not all.  In the appstore there are several alternate players that will work.  Find one that does what you heed, and is priced right for you,and download it.
((WM Player HD lite is free, and look like the one you might want)
I use xy player, and VLC, but I am not sure either one is still available.

  • Having trouble limiting applet to specific JRE family

I've just joined a new project at work and have been asked to modify an applet so it will be forced to run using JRE 1.5, since the work has not yet been able to be done to certify it with JRE 1.6. I'm having trouble getting this to behave as I'd expect, based on info I've been given and have found on the web about how to do this.
The page containing the applet uses jsp. The applet is declared using a <jsp:plugin> tag which contains attributes:
    jreversion="1.5"
    iepluginurl="http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.3/jinstall-131-win32.cab"
Based on other information I found, I've also added a <jsp:param> tag within which contains:
    name="java_version" value="1.5*"
The generated HTML from this contains an <OBJECT> tag with an attribute:
    classid="clsid:CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-0011-ABCDEFFEDCBA"
and inside the <OBJECT> a number of <param> tags, including:
    name="type" value="application/x-java-applet;version=1.5"
    name="java_version" value="1.5*"
With all this in place, if I have JRE1.6 installed on my system, the applet still appears to be loaded in 1.6 (According to the Sun Java Console for the applet browser window), and it ends up failing to run in 1.6. If I remove 1.6 from the system, leaving 1.5 on my system, things work correctly.
I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong (or failing to do right) that is causing this to not end up being within a 1.5 JRE even though the browser is using the more recent 1.6 in general.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Then shouldn't the <jsp:plugin> processing (of the jreversion="1.5") have generated a clsid value of clsid:CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-FFFF-ABCDEFFEDCBA instead of clsid:CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-0011-ABCDEFFEDCBA as it did?

  • TS1717 Having trouble running iTunes version 11.0.2 on a Dell Laptop running Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1.  Keep getting an error message "the software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly..." reinst

Having trouble when I launch iTunes (version 11.0.2) on my Dell Laptop running Windows 7 Professional (service pack 1).  I get an error message indicating software required to communicate with iPod and mobile phones was not installed correctly.  Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?  I normally respond with OK and it immediately tells me "could not be repaired.  Please reinstall iTunes..."  I have done this a number of times to no avail.

I also notice Quicktime is not getting installed at all.
That one is normal nowadays (ever since the iTunes versions 10.5.x).
The software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly. Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Having trouble running class

    Hi
I'm having problems running java classes on my new computer. I'm using Vista 64 Ultimate with SP1 and JDK 1.6.0_07.
I can type javac -version and java -version in cmd and output is fine. I can also succesfully compile java files by typing javac helloworld.java (if I'm in a folder with helloworld.java). The problem is that when I try to run my compiled java by typing java helloworld.class I get the error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: helloworld/class
    Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: helloworld.class
    at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200)
    at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
    at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:306)
    at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:276)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:251)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:319)
How can I fix this problem?

Do this and post the exact complete output for us... (just copy and paste from the command window (mistakes and all) into the forum editor, then select that text and press the code button conveniently located directly above the editor window
    javac -version
    java -version
    javac helloworld,java
    jaca helloworld
    Cheers. Keith.

  • Having trouble with quicktime. Help please.

A while ago, maybe a few months actually. My quicktime stopped working so i uninstalled it and installed it again. Now whenever I go to a website where I need quicktime to see videos, I only hear the audio (e.g Apple websites, guided tour videos, audio only). What can I do to fix this problem.

These forums can somtimes be helpful, but after a lot of reading in this case, I'm stumped.
No help starting, then quitting GarageBand, no help setting MIDI audio output to 44100 Hz (it was already there), no help reinstalling QT 7.0.4, no help rolling back to QT 7.0.1, no help shutting down all other applications when running QT. OS is current, with no more available updates. The video I edited on this same computer using Quicktime and posted on putfile plays fine on my (gasp) older PC running Windows QT 7.0.4.
As a loyal Macintosh owner since 1984 (my family currently has 7 working Macs, 3 iPods and 1 PC), I have the sinking feeling Apple seems to be becoming less unique and more microsoft like over time. While MS isn't up to the level of Apple yet, the gap seems to be closing. I don't want to know how to change my audio settings, repair permissions or do anything not directly related to the task at hand. I'm getting tired of paying for "upgrades" that aren't, including the new iLife suite and the QT 7 pro key I recently bought.
How do we report this issue? I encourage everyone who is having problems with Quicktime videos stuttering, dropping video or audio to report this so that Apple will be made aware and held responsible.
