Having trouble uninstalling CS3 trial

I downloaded a trial of CS3 a few years ago and i'm trying to uninstall it. When I try to I get an error message that says "Setup is not properly installed. Please re-install". How can I fix this?

How can I fix this?
Probably not at all, especially if you have newer versions of Adobe tools on the system. These are version conflicts in the installer database. Short of uninstalling everything, cleaning out CS3 and then reinstalling whatever is your current version I see no way to resolve this. Even if it would work right off the bat, it would mess with file associations and a few otehr things for newer versions, so it's not the best way to deal with teh problem in teh first place...

  • Having trouble uninstalling CS3

I have the Adobe CS3 suite.  I have recently installed CS4.  I would like to get PS, CS3 uninstalled. I do not want to uninstall the rest of the CS3 suite.
I only want to uninstall PS.  Please advise.
    Thx

If you have CS3 Design Premium, there is an Adobe utility titled, "Add or Remove Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium.
It will let you select (or deselect) individual apps.
    Good luck!

  • Having problems uninstalling CS3 on Mac OS 10.6.8

    Hi Jeff,
I am also trying to get rid of all my CS3 production suite on Mac ( OS10.6.8 )
After using the CS 3 uninstaller and restart everything is still showing up, though not working...
Do I have to use the cs5cleaner tool now?
And will this allow me to reinstall just CS3 photoshop ( I did not deactivate anything before uninstalling for that reason )

Great. Thank you for your response!
I just downloaded the current Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and selected CS 3 in the pulldown menu, but it only shows Adobe Extend Script Toolkit 2 and it offers to clean all Cs3/Cs 4 ( no option to just select CS3 )
I also have CS 4 installed and and want to get rid of everything except AE: Should I
    1. uninstall the entire CS4 via uninstaller first (and reinstall AE after running the Cleaner ) or can I
    2. uninstall everything CS4 except AE and then run the Cleaner.
    3. Should I run the cleaner ( clean all CS3/CS4 ) first and then take care of uninstalling CS4
Sorry for the specifics, but I already have tried this once using the uninstallers and handselecting all programs (for both CS3 and CS4 ) I wanted to get rid of and then ran the cleaner, but that still left a lot of stuff AND the not uninstalled CS3 PSD did not work any more and could also not be reactivated with my serial... the only fix was resurrecting the entire system/app drive via Timemachine to its original.
    I really appreciate your input!

  • Upgraded to CS5, having problems uninstalling CS3

Now that I've used CS5 Design Premium for a couple of months, I'm ready to uninstall CS3 and get back some badly-needed HD real estate.
I ran the Adobe Uninstaller and 2 apps are still there plus a sprinkling of folders. Someone on the NAPP forum suggested I run the CS5 Clean Script tool (on the CS3 files), which I did, but it only found one file and deleted it. So I still have Bridge CS3 and InDesign CS3 apps hanging around.
Can I just drag all this stuff to the trash?
And after the uninstaller was finished I'm getting a message when I start PS CS5 that something important is missing and I need to re-install it.
Do I have to deactivate and uninstall first? Or can I just re-install over top of the existing from my Design Premium disc? Can I just re-install PS or do I have to do the whole bundle?
Dear Adobe, why isn't this easier? I would expect this kind of behavior from Windows...
By the way, I'm on an Intel MBP running OS 10.5.8
    Thanks

Why are you using inline CSS styles for this?
Use external CSS for site wide styles. A separate physical file to which all your HTML pages are linked.
    http://alt-web.com/DEMOS/DW-Link-Stylesheet.shtml
Use embedd CSS code for page specific styles.  Between the <head> & </head> tags in your HTML pages.
Use inline CSS rarely if ever.
HINT: The only time I use inline CSS is for HTML emails.

  • How to uninstall CS3 trial version after expired.

I use a program that launches PhotoShop 7 to process pictures via MicroSoft Access. The program keeps trying to launch CS3 which is an expired trial version that I was doing some training on earlier this year. I had recently installed CS5 Extended Trial Version and then noticed that I could not use my program to launch Photoshop 7 to process my pictures so I uninstalled CS5 Extended from the Add/Remove Program list in the Control Panel. So now I'm having this problem of the Program trying to launch CS3.
I then recieve an error message "You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling this product or contact your IT Administrator or Adobe customer support for help."
But, CS3 doesn't show in the Add/Remove Program list in the Control Panel.

Have you tried the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool?
Also, there are some utilities, that will survey your system for programs, that have been partially uninstalled, or are still installed, and clean up after them. I have used Clean Sweep in the past, when it was a part of Symantec's Norton SystemWorks, but I think that it is not affiliated with Norton anymore. Have not used it in many years/versions, so cannot comment. Others might have recs. on current utilities for cleaning up after an uninstall, or completely removing an installed program.
    Good luck,

  • Having trouble installing CS4 trial

I'm trying to install the 30-day trial on Vista Home Premium. Everytime I run Setup.exe, it goes to Checking System Profile, then pops up with "Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Atari Customer Support for assistance." I have enabled the jscript.dll and even turned UAC off, and it still won't work.

The answer lies in why in the world would Contact Atari customer Service pop up for when you are installing a Adobe product. Call Atari.
*lol* I guess those old Falcons and STs are hard to kill. Anyway, to the matter at hand... Did you install properly as administrator? Are there any other Adobe products on the system? If so, which ones? what did you try so far? Run the CS4 Clean Script? Uninstalled conventionally? It may also help, if you can provide the install log (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers).

  • Having trouble downloading the trial version of Adobe Reader DC

Need to download the trail version of Adobe Reader DC, but I am having problems.

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  hAdobe Acrobat DC Pro/Standard and Reader: Direct Download Links | ProDesignTools
if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version.

  • Bringing an old version of CS5.1 from old mac to new mac with Mavericks, and it wont open. Having trouble uninstalling it.

Hey guys, so as I said, I have CS5.1 in the hard-drive of my old computer that I connected to my new one and I successfully brought it over. However, when I tried to open it, an alert came up saying "error 6". I talked with an support person and he recommended me uninstalling and re-installing it again, but when I tried that it said that there were errors and said to download the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner tool, which I did, but it still not helping the situation.
This is kind of a specific predicament, feel free to ask any sort of questions, and I would love some help from anyone, thanks!

You need to upgrade to 10.6.8. The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list. The App Store which is required to download 10.7 or 10.8 is part of the 10.6.6 update.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.

  • Having trouble loading CS3 on my new 64bit windows 7 computer?

I keep getting a message that the minimum system requirements
listed below are needed to run Adobe InDesign CS3 and are not met.
    Monitor Resolution of 1024X768
I have a HD monitor with a resolution of 1920X1080
I keep trying to lowere the resolution to satisfy the progra, so it will load but it won't do it.
I have tried all of the different resolutions and can't figure it out.

    That's a good sign.
I must have been brain dead yesterday -- you said Wn7 64 bit right inthe title of your post. As far as I know, CS3 should install, though Win7 is not a supported OS as far as I recall. If you're game, I'd download the CS5 Cleaner tool (Resolve installation problems with CS5 Cleaner Tool) which can remove previos versions, too, and try again. The CS3 installer was awful and known to fail at the drop of a hat. Things that would conflict are browser helpers, instant messengers, iTunes (I think), Flash player, antivirus and malware scanners, Firewalls... so you may need to paya a second visit to MSConfig and pay particualr attention to the services tab, as well as the startups.

  • Having trouble with the trial?

I downloaded and installed the trial version of photoshop and when I opened it a page come up that says your trial has expired.  I dont know what to do. need help

Have you installed the trial version previously at some time, or has someone else who uses the machine you are using?  If so, that's probably a legitimate message you are receiving.

  • Ok im having trouble uninstalling/upgrading to BC 3.1

ok guys im on a Macbook pro 2.26, 4 gigs of ram and 500 gig hdd. Win 7 and Snow Leopard.
Been running win7 32 bit with 3.0 for a while now. but every time i try to install 3.1 it never works. Comes up as 3.0 still and when i go to "uninstall or re install it says there is a problem and exits. so i can not uninstall 3.0. has this happened to anyone else? I would really like to get 3.1 in there without re-installing windows.. Any help is appreciated.
    Jason

I'll reply here as well, just in case. Judging by the "fatal error" message on the uninstall that you mention over there, that one is probably mucked-up installation configuration information for your existing 3.0.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from Microsoft:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up".) In the list of programs that shows up in CleanUp, select the BootCamp 3.0 entry and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, reinstall BootCamp 3.0 then try another 3.1 install. Does it go through properly this time?
