Having trouble with e-mail in iCloud - My mail is coming in late and a random times, sometimes hours later.

My e-mails are coming in really or sometimes not at all until much later. I have a .me address that was switched to iCloud. It is this same way on all devices including iCloud.com.

I'm having the same problem, except I'm not receiving ANY email (not even from businesses etc). This has been going on for a week now. I had not upgraded my OS, so that cannot be the cause. It was just suddenly not receiving emails. I can send, but cannot receive. I can log in to icloud.com but when I select MAIL, it will not load, and says application not availble. Today, I opened Mail Preferences and added a email account using my same email address ([email protected]) and it worked fine, gathered all my missing emails. But it was using the name iCloud instead of my name, and created a new mailbox for all the mail. I want to use my mailbox I've used for years...so I deleted it. It was just a test, but don't really know what was accomplished because my original email still does not receive mail.
Last week I had sent a msg to Apple Support about the problem, and got a reply...so I think they know there is a problem. Perhaps they just don't know what the solution is so will not acknowledge the issue yet.
I'm still waiting for a solution, too. Extremely inconvenient, most of us rely heavily on email.

Problem being that at random when I am going along selecting images or editing, Light Room decides to slow right now and pauses on a picture saying LOADING for a good minute until finally loaded. Re AppleWorks, turn off the Recent Items menu in the preferences.

I'm not sure why you would upgrade to 10.4.3 when the OS X Update Combo 10.4.6 (PPC) is available. Especially if you're ever run third-party program installers that asked for an administrative password, be sure to run Disk Utility> Repair Permissions on the hard drive after the computer restarts.
If you normally shut down an OS X Mac overnight or leave it in system sleep, the cron maintenance tasks cannot run in their nominal 3 am timeframe. (Display-only sleep allows the maintenance tasks to run). Tiger 10.4.2 and later will force the maintenance tasks to run after sufficient time has elapsed. Otherwise, you can leave the Mac in display-only sleep a weekend or two a month; you can manually Force Background Maintenance; or you can use a third-party utility such as OnyX to run the maintenance. Note that any system utility you use must be compatible with the OS version (e.g., use the Tiger version of OnyX with 10.4.x).

Is there anything I can do other than Resetting the entire computer and re installing all of the software, apps, etc.etc.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select
          Change Settings for Keychain "login"
In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select
          Keychain Access ▹ Preferences... ▹ First Aid
There are four checkboxes in the window that opens. Check all of them. if they're not already checked. Close the window.
Select
          Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.
If you use iCloud Keychain, open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the Keychain box. You'll be prompted to delete the local iCloud keychain. Confirm. Then re-check the box. Follow one of the procedures described in this support article to set up iCloud Keychain on an additional device.

iMessage and FaceTime went down yesterday for some people. Mine is still down. My iMessage is saying the same thing about being activated. Sounds like you are still down too. Ignore the status page that says everything is fine - it lies.

I appologize for the font and colour, I compossed the question in pages and failed to notice the font colour as grey ... there are a variety of computers of various ages so I think it is using a setting that allows both 5G and 2.4 ... the connection to the Airport is thru a cable modem and cable does run throuhout the house ... maybe those hard wires would be a place to look at ... do you think that putting the 'Express' on the second floor might help ... thanks again ...

Yes, the file extension is M4R. Does it matter where I save these files on my Macbook? I then opened them in Itunes and played them. I did find the Tones folder in Itunes but the Tones or Ringtones tab does not show up when I select Iphone (within Itunes). When I open the Tones folder in the Library, it is empty. Start by rebooting the iPad by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restart, ignoring the red slider if that appears. See if that helps.

I use a microdost exchange 2010 in my office. I just bought a macbook pro and try to syn my office mail. While it has been set up properlly and it has started downloading some of my older emails, it is taking very long and does not download all the mails especially the new ones. The ones it has downloaded take a long time to load and open.
I bought the laptop to use it on the go. What is the solution? Please help.

Startup your Mac while holding down the Option key. That should prompt the Startup Manager window where you can select the startup disk then click Restart.
If the startup disk is not available from that window, you may be able to repair the disk.

Since I updated my iOS to Mavericks, my smart groups are no longer recognized in Mail.

Those are two entirely different versions of the mac operating system. Snow Leopard is 10.6, and Mavericks is 10.9.
If you are really running 10.6, the specs for PSE require at least 10.7. If that's not the problem, more information, please, about just what you have and just what is going on. Incidentally, this is the user to user forum, so we have no access to any case number stuff. We're just other customers like you.

You may have inadvertently installed adware. Eradicating it is simple and you don't have to download or install anything to fix it. For an explanation or how this may have occurred, how to avoid it in the future, and for one possible solution read How to install adware.
