Having trouble with external HD showing up...
Anyone...HELP.
I have an external hard drive I use on my MacBook (I've used it for over a year and its fine). However, whenever the external HD is unplugged (usually by accident) I am not able to have it show up again.
I've turned everything off and back on again. Usually I turn the ex-hd off first, turn off comp, unplug & replug ex-hd USB, turn comp on, & turn ex-hd on (in that order) and still nothing shows up.
Has anyone had this problem? Does the order of which I turn on and off the ex-hd effect anything? I didn't think it did matter but obviously I am doing something wrong.
Help please.

"Usually I turn the ex-hd off first," You MUST unmount the firewire drive or usb first (Always). Then turn turn off the external firewire/usb power and wait a few seconds.
"turn off comp, unplug & replug ex-hd USB" Once unmount occurs then power down then disconnect cable Always from Mac first then the device whether it be firewire or usb.
Now how to reset all? Disconnect all cables from Mac and device. Remove battery from Macbook. Press and hold power button for 5 seconds. restart Mac book. Power on device. Connect cable to Mac first then to device.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore. -
HAving trouble with external hard drive

i have a mac mini 1.83ghz intel core duo its about a year old now. I have a trekstore 160gb 2.5 external harddrive and for some reason it wont show up on my computer or the harddrive programm from apple. It worked fine for awhile and i was able to transfer all th data that i want to store on their as a back up and then one day i plug it in and it wont show up. Now this kinda ***** i paid 80 euro for the stupid thing have all m files backed up and its not showing up on my mac.
Any suggestions?
THXIf you've got another Mac around the house or know someone who does, the next step would be to try connecting it to something other than the Mac Mini. If the drive works on another Mac, then there may be something wrong with the Mini; if the drive doesn't work on another Mac, continue being concerned about the integrity of the drive.
Also relevant for 2.5" drives, some of these don't come with AC adapters and instead draw power from the USB or FireWire bus. Though the FireWire bus can supply more than enough power to keep a 2.5" drive spinning, USB power is usually pretty measly, requiring either a complimetary AC adapter or a strange two-headed USB cable to draw extra power. -
I am having trouble with my mac mini ethernet. It had been working for weeks after an update to SL 10.6.8.
Once it went out and i repaired it by defining a new connection from System Preferences ->Network->(left panel service, +).
But yesterday, after a power up. my ethernet was not working again. I tried this old trick to repair it, but the interface choices
listed for '+' a new service did not include Ethernet any more. And the Utilities->System Profiler->Ethernet Cards shows
no ethernet available.
As a last ditch effort i reloaded my original SL from DVD. (I think it was version 10.6.4 but i could be mistaken on the version).
The ethernet worked! But KeyNote wasn't going to work because apparently the version i purchased depends on 10.6.8.
So I upgraded again to SL 10.6.8 (Plus some other updates like AirPort which i don't use).
Now the Ethernet is not working again. I see the same symptoms as before with the Ethernet seeming not installed.
Is this a problem seen by others?
Would going to Lion fix the problem?
Could AirPort actually be the culprit and not SL?
If i stay with my original SL, would i need to repurchase a version of KeyNote for the older version of SL?Have you reset the SMC?
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
While you're at it, resetting the PRAM won't hurt anything and 'might' help is SMC reset didn't work (PRAM does some port control):
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
Something else you might try .... you don't say how you're updating to 10.6.8, however, if you're using Software Update, you might try downloading the 10.6.8 combo update, which contains all updates to 10.6. Sometimes, Software Update doesn't work quite right, and installing the combo update fixes that. Download the update from Apple's download site at http://support.apple.com/downloads/ , using Disk Utility repair permissions, apply the combo update, then repair permissions again. -

Having trouble with dreamweaver cs 6 spry tabbed panels, all content in each tab showes through like it was all created on one page, plus mouse over doesnt work on them.
This started all of a sudden.
The entire website is a series of spry tabbed panels.

ive been looking for the answer for 4 months with no success.

Has anyone started having trouble with google calendar syncing / showing up on their iPhone 4s or iPad 2? As of today it no longer shows up. Thanks.
Let me re-qualify my issue. Under my Google Calendar account I have the main calendar I originally set up when setting up my account. I then set up several other calendars under this same account such as events, work, family and so on. All the calendars showed up on my iPhone and iPad with no problem and worked great for a year and a half now until yesterday. My main calendar does still show up but the others no longer appear on my devices. Going on line to look at my Google calendar/calendars everything is fine with all of them. Any thoughts as to why they no longer show up on my iPhone or iPad? Thanks again.

This issue was resolved! I didnt think about restoring my computer to factory settings but I did and now my computer works like brand new. basically, just back up your files and do the following:

i am having trouble with exchange account connection .the vpn connects fine but the exchange account is still showing the yellow light .can anyone help?
I had a similar problem. Here is how I resolved the issue.
1. Remove Network Connect
2. Run Terminal and remove /usr/local/juniper and everything within the juniper directory.
3. Reboot the machine and reinstall Network Connect
4. Test if you can now connect.
During removal, you may encounter permission denied error, you will need to change the permission to 777. For example "sudo chmod 777 nc". -

Did you really mean "os 11"? There is no such OS.
There is iTunes 11, is that possibly what you are referring to?
It's best to be specific about the issues that are occurring and in what version, as some versions fix issues that exist in other version. -
Since downloading the new operating system on my iPhone 4S, I'm having trouble with my phone messaging. I enter a number or input a number from my contacts and send my message. I then receive a error message stating the message can't be sent and it shows a set of "1s" were added in front of the number I entered. Ex: 1 (1) xxx-xxx-xxxx. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?
I realize this. When calling prepaid cus service it only gives you the option to input your #. If you dont the system hangs up on you. When I input my number the system doesnt recognize it and hangs up on me.

Hi all, Since I updated to Mavericks I am having trouble with Safari showing all the buttons/clickable options, but they are gray and will not work. Specifically, the Trash Can/Delete and the "Move to" folder button simply do not work. Any ideas?

Help - anyone else out there having trouble with the new OS system on their ipad 2? I am not getting mutliple copies of several apps ont he main page. They are "collecting: in a pike int he upper left corner and the original application icon is no lobger working. I have tried a hard sync, and that didn't help.
It should only be able to have one copy of an app on the iPad. Have you tried a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Do all the apps work ? In the past a few people have taken a screen shot of their iPad screen and that has then become their background picture - so some of the 'app's may actually be on your wallpaper picture and not actual apps. Have you tried changing the wallpaper to see if that makes any difference ? -
