Having trouble with macbook
i recently bought a macbook and i'm having a problem. every time i type a letter there is a 1 to 2 second pause before the letter comes up on the screen. like right now, i push the letter "P" and when i push the letter it has a super annoying pause then it records on the screen. but it's not just the letters. it's everything. mouse pad, delete button, etc. i can type a word but it takes a few seconds for it to record.
any idea why? it's only a week old.

Check that you downloaded all the latest system updates, it could be part of the known issue Apple fixed recently that your machine might not had the update installed.

Having trouble with macbook pro dock at the bottom of the screen
I have a 13'' macbook pro, and i now have 2 different docks at the bottom of my screen. One is functional and the other one is not. How to i get rid of one of the docks?
Please post the age of your MBP, IE what year is was made, IE what year Model is it. and also as above a image/picture of the screen (a Screen Shot may not do it if the second Dock is some type of Ghost entry).
Other then that you have some type of software corruption or hardware failure going on. There should never be a second Dock at the bottom of the screen. So there is No easy fix for this problem. It may be hardware and if so that hardware would need to be replaced. Or is could be software corruption and in that case a Wipe of the drive and reinstall may be needed. -
I have a new MacBook Pro and I'm having trouble with some of the Help sections. I want to rearrange the order of my photo's within an Event. I have followed the directions but it will not let me do it, what am I missing? Thanks for any tips.

I recently added my old mac hard drive to a new macbook with an SSD as my main OSX drive. I am having trouble with permissions in viewing my old hard drive, when I save a permission when I reboot the full access is changed again . What is the best way to get complete access to my old hd installed in my new Macbook?
Open the Get Info window for the old drive. Click the Lock icon on the bottom of that window and type in your password. In the permissions area click the Plus sign ( + ) and Add your Username to it and set it to Read & Write. Close that window. you should now have full access to all the files.

I'm having trouble with my macbook pro, I have only had it for three months, when I plugged a camera sd card into the sd slot it isn't appearing anywhere on the computer and i can not access my photographs. can somebody please help me?

Hi Shootist. I would be interested in hearing some reasoning on this. I almost always use a USB cable to connect my camera to the MBP for transferring pictures, and have moved about 30,000 this way over the last 6 years since my photography went digital. Recently, on the rare occassions when I have only a few to transfer and I was too lazy to go for the cable, I have used the card reader; about half those times I have difficulty getting the MBP to recognise the card. I find I have to press the card very hard into the slot for it to be recognised.
My rationale is quite possibly wrong, but I feel that the USB connectors are more robust and hard-wearing than the flimsy connectors on an SD card. Also, I haven't measured it, but I think the data transfer is faster with the cable. (I just came across this test, which reports noticeably faster transfer for cable than built-in card reader, but the computer was a PC)

My Macbook (13 inch 2008) running OS 10.6.8 is having trouble with some applications. Word will not even open. I cannot print from text edit or Preview or Adobe. Excel sometimes opens but very slow. What could be wrong? I have repaired permissions, used an antivirus program, deleted some old MS fonts, and still no change. I have 1 G RAM and there seems to be plenty available and I have 50 G of hard drive space empty.
Well, first 1gb of Ram is not plenty. It's the absolute bare minimum just to run OS X 10.6.8. The MS Office applications are ram hogs also. I would recommend three things.
1. Get more ram.
2. Reinstall and update your MS Office applications.
3. Reinstall Snow Leopard.
If you're not familiar with Activity Monitor you might have a look at this link and you'll be able to judge your ram situation a little better.

my ichat won't accept my password. I know the Password is correct, it works on my macbook. Both systems are OS X 10.7.1, but the computer I am having trouble with is a newly purchase MacMini
In the Finder use the Go Menu > Go to FOlder and type in ~/Library/keychains
Click the login.keychain once to Highlight and then from the Finder's File Menu do a Get Info (CMD and I Keys together)
In the Info Panel go to the Bottom and see if you Own the File
(Open the Padlock and then the cogwheel icon and your shortname should be there greyed Out about making you the Owner).
In the list above that you should be listed with Read and Write permissions.
If you don't have Read and Write permissions you will not store any new password.

I am having trouble with the "numbers" app on my MacBook Air. I go to print my document and that works just fine. I cannot however return to the document after printing. What do I have to do?

Not to worry, you're not the first to expect Print to finish by returning you to the edit mode. The thing is that Printing is so hit and miss with this version of the app, you will probably want to stay in the Print window for more than one attempt.

Still having trouble with audio on Macbook Pro
I had posted a discussion board earlier on this issue. I've been having trouble with audio for certain videos on youtube and basically any website embedded with a video. The audio works for a few seconds that doesn't or it doesn't work at all. My volume is up, not on mute, and the one on the video isn't on mute either. It's funny because I just tried watching a video on Firefox (as opposed to Safari) and it works. Could it possible be something with the settings for safari?
Try restarting your Mac, resetting your router, and resetting your modem. My cable internet has gotten slow at times as well, and when I reset my router everything cleared up.
