Having trouble with my internet speed on Mac Pro tower.

Hello all.
I just had an AirPort card installed into my Mac Pro Tower (2.66 GHZ Quad-Core Intel Xeon, with 3 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 internal memory, Running OSX 10.6.4), and the internet is running, but at a snail's pace compared to my Mac Book Pro (2.66 Ghz, Intel Core 2 duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 internal memory, running OSX 10.5.8). I ran speed tests on both of them, the Mac Book pro is running at around 20 MBPS while the Tower is tops out at around 5 MBPS.
Anyone else having these kinds of issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mac Pro airport wireless is poor at best.
I'm going to try BearExtender. I can't hang with the internal card anymore.
Had a G5 in the exact same place as the MacPro and it worked fine.
Have a friend that recently got a MacPro and he's bypassed the airport card because of such poor performance.

Since I upgraded to "Mountain Lion" I have had issues with my Internet browsing to "hang up". My local apple store is unable to help.

Im having trouble with the internet taking a long on my laptop

i am having a hard time with my internet conneting to my laptop....i have to wiat several minutes for it to connect. i had a techinan come and he told me to use google chrome for my internet browser, but that didnt help....

Does it take forever for a web page to load ? Or does it take forever for the laptop to connect to the internet connection ?

Safari having trouble with hotel internet login

I stayed at a new hotel recently. The hotel had wireless internet access, whereby I had to enter a user name and password. Normally when I open my browser or a new page within, the request is redirected to the login screen of the internet provider, I enter said name and password, and I'm connected to the internet. Safari would not execute the redirect. I could not get to the login page. I could see the address of the page flash briefly in the address bar, but Safari would then just declare it could not connect to the internet, no internet access available. When I went to the Internet system preferences and chose TCP/IP, I could see that the Airport had a valid IP address. And, I could easily connect with my iPhone. But Safari would not get me to that login page.
After an hour and a half, including 30 minutes spent on the phone with the internet providers' tech support, I gave up and went to bed. I need to find the solution to this problem before I go back to that hotel. Thanks.

If no change after restoring the iPad with iTunes as a new iPad or not from the backup and the same when connected to any other wi-fi network besides your own, your iPad has a hardware problem.

I am having trouble with sleep mode for my macbook pro

My Macbook pro 13" is getting old, about late 2009.

Ok, Normally when you are turn your screen down osx will automatically get into sleep mode and when you open the screen it will be back as usual.
Lately since 2-3 months ago til now I am having problem with that, when I am turn my screen down everything is fine I mean no horrible noise or anything that warn you like this mac is having problem and turn to sleep mode as usual BUT when I am turn it back on my monitor screen is blank, black screen for awhile I mean not less than 5 minutes also no respond to anything then my mac will auto restart and show up the dialog "This mac has restarted because unexpected problem blah blah blah" something like that. Sometimes I can't wait that long so I hold down the turn off button then turn my mac on again.
Not everytime this problem show up just it seems this problem start show up more frequently.

Ok I got the answer from google, just resetting PRAM or something and now everything is fine.

Conflicts with Drive Genius 3 and Mac Pro Tower?

I have been having problems with my MAC for about 7 months. Becomes unresponsive and I get HD disk errors when I run Disk Utility. The only way to repair is to use the Disk utility on my Snow Leopard Install disk. I have been trying to figure out what is going on, and the only thing I can come up with is that there may be a conflict with the Program Drive Genius 3. Has anybody had any similar issues?

your first course of action is to back up any and all data that you have, especially from the affected drive
then, its to ascertain wether the drive is failing or if the system is corrupted. (follow the advice in the other posts)
if the system is corrupted, you just need to reinstall the system (fresh)
if the drive is failing, you can keep the system, by cloning it to another drive. Drive genius does this with the duplicate function. (if you hear about superduper or CCCloner, they do this too)
in any and all cases, when all this is settled, you should have a cloned copy of a working system on another drive (or two). Every month (or few), reclone (backup) your system. When you are about to install a system update, say from 10.6.6 to 6.7, clone before, then update.
you can have multiple systems installed. Each one on its hard drive, or even ten systems on the same hard drive, each one in its own partition, (though if the drive fails, those multiples wont help, on the same drive. Plus, in order to clone, you need different drive. Im just saying its possible.) I use an old 300GB drive partitioned 6 ways, with different cloned instances of various systems. You can choose which system to boot from in the 'startup' pane in system preferences.
for example, when 10.7 Lion comes out, the worse thing you can do is to outright install on top of the existing system. A new system might not work in the beginning for various reasons, hardware or software conflicts, unupdated drivers, etc Before the kinks are worked out, a person might have to go back to a previous copy. Boy, am i sure glad i had that up to the minute clone . . .

Hi, I am having trouble with my Internet on my Macbook. Every time I try and go to a site it has a pop up block that says something along the lines of "Safari can't verify the identity of the website."

Below that there is more, it says," The certificate for this website is invalid. You might be connecting to a website that is pretending to be (Whatever the name of the site is) which could put your confidential info at risk. Would you like to connect to the website anyway?" and it give the options of show certificate, cancel, and continue. But the thing i dont understand is that it does this for basically EVERY page i visit. even facebook. and when i click "continue" it alows me to go to the page but limits what i can do and only shows certain things. i'm very frusterated with it. Help Me!

There is nowhere that you can download it from. You need your Mac OS X install disk. If you can't find it, you'll need to replace it. Then you can install Mail from that disk.

Having trouble with WWF, internet and mail says not conected to WiFi but I am and says I don

Says I have no WiFi connect but I do. When I try to play WWF will let me play word but doesn't update. Interet says Safari not conected to internet but I am. Will not update my e-mail. Any suggestiosn. I tried turning off IPAD but doesn't do anythig different?

Try this....
Reboot your router by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again. Close all apps on your iPad in the recents tray, then reboot your iPad as well.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Guys try this; it worked for me.
I recently bought MacBook Pro 15" & updated everything. All worked well till I started iTunes. The computer froze & I had to press the power button. This happenned again & again.
This is what I did & you too can try it. It's risk-free:
Go > Home > Music
Rename the folder "iTunes" to anything, e.g. "iTunes-old"
Start iTunes, it will work normally and will create a new folder "iTunes"
"iTunes-old" is still there. If you need something from it, take it, otherwise you may delete the folder.

Having trouble with DV NTSC export file for Pro Tools.

Pro Tools only takes NTSC format video. For some reason every single DV NTSC file that has been exported freezes in a certain spot and in other portions tends to flicker. I'm not so sure as to why that is. I tried exporting it through the QuickTime Movie option which always works, but gives me the previously stated problems. I tried exporting it through the QuickTime Conversion many times as well; the problem with doing it with this manner is that the video is just white, although the sound still works. I've rendered everything many times. At this point I was thinking about reimporting the raw footage from the P2 cards.
Has anyone encountered this problem? Or have any suggestions? At this point I'm not sure what's wrong.

Trouble with Updating Apps on USED Mac Pro

I purchased a used Macbook Pro in Summer 2013, and I thought that I had updated the system to be under my Apple ID and user info so that I can update
applications through my account. However this keeps popping up, and I need to know how to disable the old Apple ID and change it to mine.

You need to delete those applications and then download them while signed into your Apple ID. For preloaded ones, this may require going to the Mac App Store main page, clicking on Support under Quick Links, and contacting Apple.

Anyone having trouble with internet connection after downloading mountain lion

After installing Mountain lion to my mid 2011 imac 21" I am having trouble with my internet connection. Anyone else have to deal with this?

Are you on 10.8.2 as ypur profile says? If so, it's worth updating to 10.8.3 which was released last week.

I've also seen threads where users with wifi problems have successfully solved them by changing the channel in the router's wifi settings.

the cellular connection works just having issue with ipad3

i did the reset of network settings.. still no good. recently upgraded to new os 6.1 version any way to go back to older version of os?
