Having trouble with voice recognition.

Question

I, have a touchsmart desktop.  The product number is NY604AA-ABA-300-1017.  I, have been having this problem for some time. This computer was purchased in Jan. 2010.  Also when I go into the recipe area the voice recognition doesn't seem to work very well either.
The canvas doesn't respond when I ask it any of it's commands.  I, do have that activated when I'm asking the commands.  Hope I have explained this well enough so I could get some assistance getting this problem fixed.  Thank you for your time. My e-mail address is {Personal Information Removed}

I am glad to know that you like your Nexus! It appears that you are having some issues with your device that we can help with. I completely understand the need of the device to work as it should. Let's start with the Voice Action Commands. Try to disable contact sync to see if the issue persists:  Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> Your Account -> Uncheck Sync Contacts. G-mail Sync issue:
Go to Menu -> Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> G-mail -> Disable sync -> Power off device -> power back on -> go back to enable sync and test.
