Hello John,
I am trying to execute a Business Rule to Archive my forecast.
When Executing I am getting an Error Stating " Error Detected while Attempting to Run Job ".
We have just Upgraded to System 11.
Please let me know where to locate hbrlaunch.log or any other log to trace the error in Business Rules.

I tried searching in complete Windows folder. I am not able to trace the log.
When i check the status of Business Rule from Workspace I see the status as Pending.
Is there any other alternate way to see the hbrlaunch.log ?
The OS which I am working on is Windows 2003 Server.

I have installed Hyperion Reporting and Analysis services.When I attempt to log on to Workspace, I get the following message;

I have tried using the admin and password as username and password.I am able to login to Essbase Administration Services and User Management Console using this account.I have provisioned the user to Hyperion System 9 BI+ .

I was told that Dsun.net.inetaddr.ttl=0" is required to be passed to the web application server (JVM) that starts Hyperion Shared Services and all System 9 products that depend on Hyperion Shared Services

Hyperion System 9.3.1 Services are getting hang... on AIX box.

Dear All,
We have installed & configured Hyperion System 9.3.1 on IBM AIX 5.3 ML-6, 6 dual core CPU & 24GB RAM. Repository database is Oracle 10gR2.
We have scheduled approx 300 Interactive Reporting Jobs in Workspace which has been associated with external trigger events. Once these jobs get executed their output has been imported in the various folders on Workspace.
We are getting following errors in <HYPERION_HOME>/log/BIPLUS/ server_messages_IRJobService.log file when these jobs get executed:

After this Hyperion Services are getting hang. In Workspace - View Job Status – showing that Jobs are executing.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

The reason they run quicker the subsequent times, is because the data has already been cached in the system.
You could try the usual tricks to speed the report up:
- move items into POV
- have children and parent in the same row
- arrange dimensions in inverse outline order
- remove excessive formatting
- push report calculations back to the data source
We have found that using lots of dynamically calculated members also slows down reports, so try and limit the number of these.
Hope this helps. If not maybe give us an idea of how the report is created to see if other changes could be made.

Very Urgent: Hyperion System 9 Planning license was encountered

Hi,
I am working on Planning Version 9.2X. On every weekend, Hyperion Planning and Essbase servers are scheduled to start. After that, all the services are being recycled as part of weekly maintenance. The next day, when I tried to login into Planning, I am experiencing below issue soon after the server restart. To overcome this, again I am stopping and starting all services. Please refer to the Below Error and its Server log.
Can you please help in fixing this issue permanantly.
And one more issue with other Planning Application: This application does not have this kind of problem, but it has strange issue. This application also goes under weekly maintenace and does not any problem with the login. But, If I won't login soon after the server and Services recycle, Business Rules that are scheduled to run won't start. I have to have login into Planning to make the Business Rules to run.
Please suggest me if I need to change any settings with in the planning properties to overcome these issues.

I am not sure on that one, have you checked any of the license server logs, I would contact Oracle if nobody else comes up with some ideas.

Problem Addition Reporting Client tools for Hyperion System 9.3.1

Hi,
I'm using Hyperion System 9.3.1 (on SQL Srv).
I had no Reporting tools installed.
Then Reporting Client 9 products has been installed and configured successfully.
After that I logged into Workspace, system lost any apps and tools. Nothing except Shared Services (User Mngmnt).
When I tried to reconfigure Reporting products I got error "Invalid DB schema for Reporting product".
New DB schema has been created for this products and deploied it. But I have no positive result.
What can be a reason?

"Invalid DB schema for Reporting product" is a bug, have a patch to solve, i dont remember the number.
The workarround:
- Make Backup of DB.
- Drop DB table
- Reconfigure the Reporting creating a new table
- Restore Backup

he installing Hyperion 9.3.1 on a server, I installed and tested successfully Shared Services, Essbase Administration Services, Essbase Server, Essbase Client ........ my problem is when installing Reporting and Analysis
Services and installed without problems UIServices in confuguratio utility comes a list of products to configure (Financial Reporting, Web Analysis Planning .... .... among others), first configure Financial Reporting and Web Analysis, when done reboot the machine, then wake up coughing the service entrance to http://localhost:45000/workspace, correspontiente and I get this message "you must supply a valid User Name and Password to log onto the system"
I need an urgent solution k and the above does not work until the time
or failing to address where we can solve this

First of all really you should be going through the webserver plugin port if you want to access the other components through workspace.
e.g. http://localhost:19000/workspace
If you entering the correct login details and the account you are using is provisioned then you could check out what information is in the logs :- \Hyperion\logs\BIPlus\SharedServices_Security_Client.log

Did you put in the right url when you did the HFM config ?
check the httpd.conf file for server name and listening port number ....

Re-hosting hyperion system 9.3.3

We are trying to clone our hyperion system from Production to Development. We are using three server VMs, all of three we want to copy in Development environment.
Our environment is as below: +(We have changed Server names and IP, because Production and Development are in same domain)+
We made 3 servers with OS win Sever 2005 SP1.
a. SQL server 2005 SP1.
b. Shared service & Reporting & Analysis.
c. HFM, EPMA & FDM.
but getting some issues in between.
*1. EPMA get configured to new(DEV.) server but EPMA service is not starting.*
In event viewer i can see following log entries:

Hi,
I am able to sort out this issue also,
1. I re-started configuration and this time I skipped "Configure with shared service" at the first time and configured remaining components of EPMA.
2. Started all EPMA services then I configured "Configure with shared service".
These steps helped me to sort out this issue.

Apache Doesn't Start On Hyperion System

Hi,
since I'm new using Hyperion products also webservers, please help me about this problem:
First of all, I want to have EPM Oracle installed on my server. I'm using Microsoft Windows Server 2003 as Operating System, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 as Database, Weblogic 9.2 (Apache 2.0.59) and Hyperion 11.1.1.3.
All installation went pretty good also the configurations. But finally when I tried to start apache service from services.msc, it failed and the error message appeared, should check on event viewer from windows but since Apache is not Microsoft's product, I tried to refer on Apache log from Hyperion folder, also tried to execute apache.exe by using command prompt.
The log tells:

So I went to refer on HYSL-WebLogic.conf and found this:

I have tried to turn it off but also no luck.
have tried to solve this problem in a week, tried to re-install all (include database and weblogic also), tried to follow again step by step from oracle documentation but also no luck. what should I do to have my EPM workspace runs normally? Thanks.

First, check that the port that you give during your installation are free.

Couldn't log into SAP System (message 00264) after SAP_BASIS update

Hello,
we performed SAP_BASIS update to SAPKB70023 and get a problem with logon into a SAP system with message 00264 (Status &2 of the user interface &1 missing).
We have a 64-bit non-Unicode system on Solaris/SPARC/Oracle and Kernel level 333.
We tried to import MENUSYST program from note 1285869, but nothing happened at all. The parameter abap/unicode_check we set to "on" but this didn't help us.
So after selecting system record in SAP Logon now we get the initial logon screen with no "new password" button and error 00264 (Status 0020 of the user interface SAPMSYST missing.) and couldn't log into the system.
We have no idea why correct and existing statuses are not working.
Please suggest us what to do to fix this problem.

Error in Source system (Job is not going in to job log of CRM system)

We replicated datasources from CRM server in BI 7 server and they get replicated and are in Active version
All transactiond atasources which are 7.0 version are executing successfully, but the Datasources which are in 3.5 version i.e. Datasource for master data infoobject gives error while executing infopackage.
The error message is as follows:
"Diagnosis
     In the source system, there is no transfer structure available for
     InfoSource 0CRM_MKTMETA_ATTR .
System Response
     The data transfer is terminated.
Procedure
     In the Administrator Workbench, regenerate from this source system the
     transfer structure for InfoSource 0CRM_MKTMETA_ATTR ."
Also while executing the infopackage the job log in source system is not able to create the corresponding job.
Following action are already been taken:
1. Datasource replication
2. Confirmed that the Transfer Structure are avialable and are in ACTIVE state.

It seems some changes are taken place at Source System for the Mast.Data DS. Try to Recheck the Same at Source System -- Activate/Retranport the same.
BI side.

Checking status of scheduled jobs in Hyperion System 9.3.1 ....

Hi All,
We have Hyperion System 9 9.3.3. We have a Daily job scheduled every morning to check the status of the scheduled jobs that run daily. One of the jobs has a status message as below.
Failure - Internal error.ContainerCache.populate: The object "0000011386a6823b-0000-a99f-0a103a4a" is not found. It either does not exists, or it may be inaccessible.
But when I check the job status in View Job Status > Job Scheduler module, I see the report is still running. It's just that this report is taking longer to run and completes some time after the Daily Job Status check report runs.
In this case, shouldn't the status should say something like the job is still running instead of "Failure" which is misleading?

I've been seeing messages exactly like that (and many, many other kinds) in the Console since the first version of OS X. They look menacing but are harmless.
You don't need any kind of security software.
Just surf the web carefully, pay attention to where you're going and don't install anything that you don't recognize. If you are asked to enter an admin user name and password, DON'T. Unless you know for sure that you initiated the installation from a known and reliable source (like Apple).
Mac malware relies on social engineering. No amount of security/anti-virus, blah, blah, blah software is going to help.
