HCM - Custom extractor class in smartform HRRCF_PUBLICATIONS_INT

How to build custom extractor class ? I have a requirement where you have to change the standard layout of HRRCF_PUBLICATIONS_INT to include the custom fields and the data should be pulled from the custom extractor class. Any pointers regarding this is highly appreciated.

Hi Nisha,
I think you have an issue to call custom BSP.
-     Ignore the warning message (in the table T77RCF_LOG_APPL) as it is just a warning message. I did not touch start page link at all.
-     Additionally you need to make (I had to made) an entry in table u2018V77RCF_SMG_NAVIu2019.
Let me know, if you need anything else.

Thanks Mike, I am still septical about going for ABAP Classes - I know it is the direction that SAP wants to go, but with so little information about how to do it properly, I am afraid of doing more harm than good.
You suggested that I should use a BO as an attribute of a class. So, are you suggesting that a should create a class called ZCL_EMPLOYEET, assign the BO EMPLOYEET as an attribute type SIBFLPORB and add any extra bits and pieces that I need in class ZCL_EMPLOYEET?
Have you worked with classes CL_HRPA_INFOTYPE_*. I am assuming they represent the several Infotypes delivered in HR. Any hints about how to 'test' these classes - I didn't quite grasped yet how to 'test' these classes - I would like to see what they do, but I am not getting it.
Thanks for any help you can provide,

  • How do you invoke custom java classes???

Could someone post a detailed method of invoking custom java classes that works including what files go where, settings and the way it is invoked etc.
I have tried various ways from this forum and in the documentation without success. I am using IDM 8. I found these instructions regarding how you would do it if you were writing custom resource adaptors in the deployment tools guide:
To install a resource adapter you’ve customized:
    1. Load the NewResourceAdapter.class file in the Identity Manager installation
    directory under
    idm/WEB-INF/classes/com/waveset/adapter/sample
(You might have to create this directory.)
    2. Copy the .gif file to idm/applet/images.
This .gif file is the image that displays next to the resource name on the List
Resources page, and it should contain an image for your resource that is
18x18 pixels and 72 DPI in size.
    3. Add the class to the resource.adapter property in
    config/waveset.properties.
    4. Stop and restart the application server. (For information about working with
application servers, see Identity Manager Installation.)
I tried the instructions here but placed my custom class in a folder entitled custom instead of /adapter/sample. Not sure about instruction 3 or whether it is relevent. Anyway nothings working.

    Hi,
The way to add custom class is the same as you followed , put them in the WEB-INF/classes.
To use the custom adapter ,
Go To Resources - > Configure Types -> Add Custom Resource .
Type in the fully qualified class name of the custom adapter you added.and Save.
Now the new adapter you added should showup in the list of available adapters when you try to
    configure a new adapter.
(Make sure that the prototype XML of your custom adapter is correct so that it displays the correct name / type for the adapter in the adapter list.

  • Custom Extractor using FM for Delta Upload

    Hi,
I created a Custom Extractor using FM for Full Upload. The requirement now is that it should be able to handle Delta also.
I used the standard FM RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE to create my Z FM.
Please suggest me the changes I have to make in this to be able to upload Delta also.
    Thanks
    Nageswara

    Hi Mahesh,
You can selectively load from BI side (through Infopackage) and for that you should have those selection field defined as ranges in your FM.
As per my genius friend Sidharth Gupta:
FM RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE is a funct. Mod having a simple interface in which I_UPDMODE is not used. Actually FM RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE is used for a full update and uses an F2 extraction method. However through ABAP we can try to make it delta capable like below.
    *Declare
    DATA  I_UPDMODE.
Now to capture delta on AUDAT
           I_UPDMODE = u2018 u2018.
LOOP AT S_S_IF-T_SELECT INTO L_S_SELECT WHERE FIELDNM = 'AUDAT'.
                MOVE-CORRESPONDING L_S_SELECT TO L_R_AUDAT.
                 I_UPDMODE = u2018 D u2019.
                APPEND L_R_AUDAT.
              ENDLOOP.
This code works however is not flexible as you do not use a CASE stmt on I_UPDMODE.
CASE stmt gives more flexibility which is used in FM RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA.
FM RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA is a funct. Mod having a complete interface in which I_UPDMODE is passed to funct mod during its call.FM RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA can be  used for all update types and uses an F1 extraction method. However after writing the funct mod the default extraction method is F2 in table ROOSOURCE which needs to b changed to F1 for ur mod to work.  This change from F2 to F1 can be done via test abap code.
Part two of that Article is yet to be published so wait for sometime or follow above mentioned approach.
    Hope it helps.

    Ashish

  • How to call a custom action class present in one DC from a different DC

    Hi Experts,
I have to implement one email functionality in my project. This functionality works fine if I use the Standard EmailAction class present in com.sap.isa.cic.customer package, but we need to change the email IDs in some cases so,we need to create a custom class. But if I create a custom Action class in Another DC(shext) and try to call this class from the config file present in the other DC(From where the Standard class was called),I am getting no Action Instance found for the declared Action(This Happens when the class is not present ).
From the error I interpreted that the presence of the Custom Action class is not recognised by the The DC.
Please confirm If my understanding is correct.
I also tried adding a a new public part in shrext and tried adding the same in the used dc for the DC from where I am trying to call the class. But the activity fails and it gives me the error that the DCs are Broken.Do I need to build the DCs after adding a public part or a used DC?
Please answer If anybody has faced the same issue or has a solution to it.

    Hi All,
I was able to resolve this issue myself.
I had to include the DC crm/isa/lwc and the DC mail in the used DCs of SHREXT .
So,all the jars got included automatically and I was able to create a new custom class for the required functionality.
    Its working fine now.

  • How to implement custom Model Class in Oracle ADF?

I am using Oracle ADF for one of my project and i am using Query component of ADF. For given tables the query component creates view objects and maps the relations. ADF uses its own custom model class for this component and it should understand the DB tables. But for my project i have no access to database. All i can do is pass a string or object/query to the existing (custom) Java class/object, and this model class formulates query and queries the database and returns the value to my Java class. I have to display these results using ADF to the front end. Is There a way to achieve this? Can i replace/override the existing Model class of ADF. If so how?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi, there:
Best thing to do is to start with the default login.html page, and then modify it. The login screen is fairly complex and it's easy to just miss a JS function you need to call. To get to default page, you would need to do one deploy (to simulator or whatever), and then look for login.html page in the temporary Xcode or Android project generated from the deployment. It should be under the "deploy" directory in your JDev workspace.
You can also see all the framework JS files and CSS files that way as well.
We have had customers implementing custom login screen so we know it can work, but they all had to start with the default login screen and then modify it.
    Thanks,

  • Issue with Fiscal Year Period in Custom Extractor

We have a custom extractor that pulls posting period (PERIO) and Fiscal Year (GJHAR)...once we move it to BW we do a concatenate in the transfer rules to get Fiscal Year / Period.  Before we did the ERP Upgrade the concatenate worked and then  after the Upgrade it stopped working.  I have checked RSA3 and the extractor is not pulling the fields any differently then before.  I have also tested the same concatenate in our development system and it is working.  Does anyone have any idea what might be happening?
Before we were getting data that looked like 2008001 and now thet data is saying 8  1200.
We also have another custom extractor that does the exact same thing and it is working!
    We are stumped....can anyone assist?
    Thanks!

I dont understand why you had to extract period and year?
Can you pl explain. Do you have other fields in the extractor, if so what are they?
Can you paste your code here to look at.

  • Custom style classes

    hi all,
Is it possible to create some custom style classes and assign them to styleClass property of some components?
And if it possible, where to place those custom classes and how to use them?
    I've tried without success.
    Regards,
    Bassam

So this begs the question... if I wanted to change the color of a font on a af:panelHeader for example, (inlineStyle="background-color:navy;color:white;") or I set it up as a class in my css e.g. (styleClass="ph" where the css class is ph{background-color:navy;color:white;}) why doesn't the af:panelHeader component render as one would expect... with a blue back ground and white text? I'm using JDeveloper11g.

  • Use of bpelx built-in methods like getVariableData in custom java classes

    Hi,
how can I use bpelx built-in methods like getVariableData ...
inside custom java classes embedded with BPEL project?
I have large java code to embed with BPEL process
and it will be very useful ....
It is possible to access these methods like static methods of some class?
    import com.xxx.yyy.class;
    class.getVaribleData("inputVariable","payload","/ns1:mailMessage/ns1:content/ns1:multiPart");
    Regards
    Karel

you can access them from <bpelx:exec> activity and you can pass these returned document to underlying java class.

  • Using Custom Java Class - WorkflowRegistry.xml

I am using a custom java class in workflow. While executing I am getting errot -
    com.waveset.util.WavesetException: Class com.LdapGroupMod is not a WorkflowApplication
It seems from documentation that I need to add this in workflowregistry.xml file. I added the same like given below -
    <WorkflowApplication name='Workflow Name'
    class='com.LdapGroupMod'>
    <Comments>Nothing Here</Comments>
</WorkflowApplication>Even tried restaring the application server but I am still getting same error. Any idea what needs to be done here? or I am missing smething?

Well the first thing would be to read the workflowRegistry.xml file. The header talks about internal and external applications and so on. The crucial part is that any application registered must implement the WorkflowApplication interface (which I guess your class dont do)
I gave up. I am totally baffled by the documentation. I admit it.
What I did was to create an Script action in an Activity where the script used Xpress to invoke my class. It seems to work.

  • Data syncup issue - Custom extractor for revenue recognition data from ECC into BW

    Hi there,
We have created a custom extractor on top of a Function Module (FM) in ECC that reads data primarily from VBREVE table. Currently, we have close to 10 million records and full load isn't a preferred option so we built in a delta mechanism using "Created On" (ERDAT) and "Posting Date" (BUDAT). The idea is to do an initial full load and then switch over to delta loads on a nightly basis for data where:
"Created On" OR "Posting Date" is within last 6 months.
This will ensure if any updates are made to the existing VBREVE entries, this change will be reflected in the BW DSO, provided the "Created On" or "Posting Date" fall within last 6 months. The issue comes up if in ECC a billing plan is cut down to a smaller term, let's say from 3 years to 2 years, the entries for the 1 year will be deleted from VBREVE table. How can I pick up this change in BW DSO since this data has already been loaded in the past? Addition of entries are okay but I need to address the deletion on entries in VBREVE table so that it reflects this in BW DSO. Any ideas how I can accomplish this? In the example on the screenshots, BW still shows the before image and I need to be able to get it to sync up with ECC as per the after image.
    -Rohit

    Dear Rohit,
The case is complicated , there can be workaround using the changedon date from VBAK table. if the billing plan is changed in the sales order VBAK will be updated for changedon.
    1) If the billing plan deletion is a very specific case, then using the change log tables find out which are the sales order for which there has been billing plan change. Store this sales order details in DSO day wise. call it DSO1
    2) Create a self transformation to the DSO ( DSO2) where you are currently loading from the table VBREVE (DSO2 to DSO2 -For loading data from the same DSO) .Transformation should have reverse record mode given as a constant.
    3) load the data DSO2 from DSO2 by filling up sales order details from DSO1 in the DTP filter.
( This will reverse the complete entry for the sales order in DSO2 for the sales order for which billing plan has been changed)
    4) Now load afresh for these sales order again from source system to DSO2 from the table VBREVE.
You can also use VBAK changedon date to trigger this load.
Hope I have not confused you

  • Custom Java class called from RTF template generates error

We are running a report in BI Publisher and the report calls a custom developed Java class that is used to bind PDFs together and sent the result to another application.
On the RTF template we have some XSLT that reads the input XML and sets a variable which is then passed to the Java class. We are however getting the following error when the report is called simultaneously 2 or more times:
XML-22044: (Error) Extension function error: Error invoking 'JavaClassName': 'java.lang.Error: Cannot interweave overlay template with pdf input, combined number of pages is odd!
I read this as the real cause of the error is the Java code but I'm not 100% sure. Also I don't understand what the error message means.
    Could someone help out please?
    Many thanks

Since our this requirement is in Quotes module, its not using OAF. It is using plain JSPs and java classes.
What i was thinking is, create the Option values as flex fields, and write a custom java class to fetch these data from the flex tables and use it in the JSP.
The main problem we are facing now is,
"...we wrote a simple java class, which establishes database connection, executes a simple insert & select query to our custom table. compiled & placed the class file under our new pkg structure under $JAVA_TOP eg. oracle.apps.xxx.quot.tmpl , bounced the apache."
But when we tried to import this class in the jsp (which is being customized), the app just throwed Internal Server Error and we couldnt find any info in the Log file.
Couldnt guess, why is this simple thing failing. Any idea ?
