HCM Processes & Forms without Employee Selection

We would like to develop a Job Requisition Process using HCMPF.  A Job Requisition does not require an employee selection. The Start Process in the portal begins with the selection of an employee.  I know that the ability to skip employee selection in the Start Process is delivered with EHP4 but we are going to be doing this development with EHP3.  I read in an SDN blog that via configuration you can set a process to "skip selection". In this way, the process actually jumps right to the form screen as if it was in an "edit" task. Would this be a solution for us? Is the configuration done somewhere in the process definition in the ECC System?  Does the process still require an employee selection at the end of the process to complete it? We have heard that an HCM process does not have to do updates, but can just be a fill-in of a form and routing for approvals. I need help understanding how to initiate this type of process when no employee selection is needed.

  • Error while editing standard HCM Processes & Forms

    Hi experts,
    I would Iike to test the standard HCM processes & Forms & for which I have imported the standard forms from Client 000. I have also configured the ADS & have tested the credentials as well. Everything is fine & new custom ADOBE interactive forms (Not HCM Forms) are working fine through WDA. When I test any of the standard processes using HR Administrator role in Portal, I am able to select the relevant standard process (e.g. TERMINATION) for a given employee, but when I click on the  Edi Process button, the system generates an error (short dump): "'WebDynpro Exception: ADS call failed ". I have checked OSS, but did not find any suitable note for it. I have the HR administrator role assigned in the back end & have confirmed that the ADS configuration as well as credential are working fine using the recommended reports. We are on EhP4 SP06.
    Appreciate if anyone has already experienced these probelms & can suggest any solutions. Thanks in advance.

    To me it appears that ADS is conencted to only backend ECC not to the portal system.
    Please try below:
    1. Launch WDA for HCMPF in SE80 with appropriate parameters and see if this displays interactive adobe form when you click in edit button.
    2. May be test the ADS connectivity to portal system.

  • HCM Processes & Forms Cost Assignments Defaults

    Hello Everyone,
    I have a question about making Cost Assignments for Infotyps like "Additional Payment" (0015) or "Employee Remuneration Info" (2010) within a Processes and Forms Scenario. This is really a huge requirement for us because the hole Company is split in several subsidiaries so we need to book the costs to different cost objects.
    In the Backend World (PA30/PA61) when creating a record for either one of the Infotypes I can choose the Option "Maintain cost assignment" so I can define a different cost object where the costs of the created record should be booked.
    I know the data of the cost assignment get's stored in the tables ASSHR & ASSOB. But as I'm using the SAP Backend Services SAP_PA and SAP_PT I can't make any DB update/insert statments after the records are created.
    Did anyone implemented a Scenario like this before?
    Would be awesome if someone could give me an advise.

    If the infotypes in  question are standard PD infotypes you could use SAP_PD service to update them.
    For any other tables you will have to go with a advanced generic service or do the update in a background workflow task.

  • Unable to test a FPM form based process in HCM Process & Forms ?

    Hi Experts,
    Am new to HCM Process & Forms, I created my first form on FPM and am trying to test it but am not able to do so.. can you all please help me figure out where I am going wrong.

    I have a build a FPM Form Scenario and Process. Now when I clicking on the Execute button in HRASR_DT and go the test screen I dont get the option for selecting the Web Dynpro Screen as Application Start Option.

    Yes, I had to Activate the business function HCM_ASR_CI_5 to get the "Option for Application Start" section in HRASR_DT.

    The one think that I am still having issues is that if I goto se80 and selected the WD Application ASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE_OVP and using the Application configuration ASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE_OVP_CFG I execute it by clicking on Test....I get an error message saying
    "Process does not exist"
    Does this mean I can't test my process through se80 I will always have to go through portal and configure the launchpad to test my process ?
    Or am I missing some config or doing something wrong ?

  • HCM Processes & Forms - Infotype 0008

    Hello,
    I am working on a scenario where a salary change is being done through HCM Processes & Forms. The salary that changes is in a wagetype (0001). There are other wage types that are also in infotype 8. How can I make sure that I can add more than 1 wage type in this scenario? Right now, if I only add one wagetype, it doesn't copy the wage types that are in the previous record (which is what I thought it would do).
    So, as an example:
    On date - 1 we have : 0001 - 4,000, 0100 - Indexed to full time salary, 0200 - indexed 12.50 %
    On date we have: 0001 - 4,200
    We want to have: 0001 - 4,200, 0100 and 0200 - 12.50%

    Hi Chris,
    We have a similar requirement to update infotype 0041 records.
    I think you simply use the same field to pass to your service to different fields but you change the index for each time you use it. You can see this in the sample processes SAP provides.
    Could you explain a bit on the above ' index' ? What index are you referring to?
    Also, if possible could you reply with the sample processes in SAP which you were referring to?

  • HCM Processes & Forms PD Backend Service

    HCM Processes & Forms
    SAP_PD service (OM New Position Object IT1000, New Org. Unit Object(IT1000) and Relations between Position & Org. Unit(IT1001-A003 and/or A012 )
    --- OM Data Create Position Object and Create relation with already existing org. unit, process form shows u201CProcess Completedu201D.  When I check transaction log t-code : slg1 " The number indicated is not in any valid external interval" and " S 30117940 not found"
    This same case is working fine, if I removed the internal number range (just try), it is creating using SAP standard number range '5XXXXXXXX' , it has been created object  'S' and relation with 'S' - 'O'.
    I have created the process form with the following cases with internal number range is working fine.
    1) Create Position using SAP_PD standard OM service u2013only object
    2) Create Org. Unit using SAP_PD Service  -- only Object
    3) Using exisiting Org. Unit and Exisiting Position create relation  -- only relation.
    I am working a requirement same as Process: HR_PD_CREATE_POSITION but no hope.
    If anyone knows about the new object with relation, why internal number is not working or any configuration may I missed!!!

    Dear Sameer,
    The note 1098009 - Limitations for Web Dynpro ABAP doesn't say anything that you can't do.
    I made a brief analysis and didn't see any issue (regarding the note). Check it out in a more detailed manner to see if there isn't a limitation.

    Yes, in my case it was an authorization issue. Try assigning the role SAP_ASR_MANAGER to the manager in the ECC.

    To be honest there is not much to it and the SAP documentation covers it really.
    Enable the process to be mass processed.
    Make fields visible/invisible/readonly in the columns using the field attributes
    A singlle process is triggered for each employee in mass process table etc.

  • HCM Processes & Forms - Some questions about the PD Processes

    Hi Experts,
    At my Organisation we use HCM Processes and Forms and Organisation Management and MSS to manage Position Based Security (PBS).
    The MSS Managers have requested a form be developed which they can use to extend an existing Position to Employee temporary assignment (IT1001 S-P with A081 relationship) which is due to expire within the next 30 days. We recently upgraded to ECC EHP6 and I thought I would now have a go at developing this Form.
    While researching in SCN and SAP Press books on the ‘HCM Processes and Forms’ topic, I have discovered a lot of information that has assisted me so far in progressing this solution.
    There are a few givens that I have confirmed so far, which are as follows;
    Since we are using Positions (Organisation Management), the only option available here is to use the PD Process, which implies using the SAP_PD Back_End Service. Therefore this become the baseline to build upon.
    While researching in SCN and SAP Press books on this subject I could not find relevant information about what is possible using the SAP_PD Service to achieve my solution design for the above requirements and thus my post to the HCM P&F Community for assistance.
    My questions are as follows;
    In the solution design, I was considering to use the “Process without Start Object” or “Mass Start” to skip Step 1 - “Selection Object” and use a Generic Service to get all the positions for the Manager (along the lines of the SAP Standard Generic Service - find Positions in Manager’s area of Responsibility) and only retain the Positions where the End Date for the IT1001 A081 relationship in between the Effective Date and Effective Date plus 30 days. This should provide me with all the positions under the Manager that have the A081 relationship with the assigned employee that are about to expire within the next 30 days.
    I want the result presented on the Form in a Table format so that the Manager has to enter the Extension Start Date and End Date for the new assignment period.
    Is this possible using Standard Design Time functionality?
    2.       Or Instead of Question 1, could I use OADP to achieve the same result using a custom search class to return a list of multiple objects (Positions)which is used to populate the form?
    3.       I get the impression that the ‘Mass Start’ process is mainly for multiple employees. Can it also be used for multiple PD objects?
    4.       I get the impression that if I used the ‘Mass Start’ option I could only use this if I was CREATING a new object or assignment? (I take it that you cannot use the Mass Start option to CHANGE multiple existing objects. Only because I have not seen any SAP Standard examples of this yet!)   Please confirm if this is possible?
    5.       Has anyone used the “Query for Mass Start” option on a Process? How does that work? (Could I write a ‘SAP Query’ to get the positions I am interested in under the Manager?) Is there a sample SAP Standard process that uses a query?

    i am not sure you got the process in Portal or not, but this steps helps you to get process in portal.
    Go to SPRO --> Personal Management - HR Administrative Services - Configuration Process for HCm Processes and Forms - Process Configuration -- Setup Processes -- Validity for Processes -- Select Specify Valid Processes for start Application -- now it will prompt with Role of Initiator slect Manager/Employee/HR admin specfic start and end date
    and still we have one more step to do...

  • Customizing Requisition request in HCM Processes & Forms

    Hi HCMers,
    We have just upgraded our development system to EhP4 in ECC and E-Recruiting systems, and SP5 in E-recruiting. We want to use the simple requisition request process in HCM Processes and Forms but have several customizations to apply. For example, changes to the form and the workflow.  As a developer I am able to create the custom Adobe form, the custom workflow, and apply any necessary enhancements to ABAP code. However I am unclear how to link these in via the HCM Processes and Forms framework so that they will be called from the standard screen in MSS (Manager Services > My Requisitions > Create New Requisition Request). I did find the tutorial for building a process scenario from scratch, but I can't find the "simple requisition" form in HRASR_DT, but I find the simple form in SFP as ISR_FORM_SRQ1.
    So, my question - what is the best way to implement these customizations? Should I copy the existing process scenario for exstended requisition (HR_MSSRCF_REQUISITION) into a Z_HR_MSSRCF_REQUISITION and make all my changes; or create my form scenario and process scenario from scratch?  Do we need to change the webdynpro for the Create New Requisition Request to call the new form and scenario, or is there a place that is configured? Do I really even need to use the HCM processes and form framework?
    If I sound clueless it's because I am Anyone wanna give me a clue?

    Cpoy HR_MSSRCF_REQUISITION to your Z one by using the transaction SPRO-> personnel management and then HR Administrative Services and then Configuration of Forms/Processes and then execute the Design Time for process and forms.
    select your Process that is HR_MSSRCF_REQUISITION  and copied to your Z one. once you copied then you can given there your own workflow template  and in the form Secnerio you can also given your own customize adobe form.
    In the process start you can assign the role assignemnt to manager then this process would be visible in MSS under manager.

  • HCM Process & Forms: Date & Time Stamp issue in Prev Comments Box

    We implemented HCM Process and Forms and we are in EHP4.  We need user name, date and time stamp in each step for audit purpose.
    Form Process Example:
    Step1: Manager -> Initiates a Form for employee pay/position changes  (REQUEST)
    Step2: 1-Up Manager -> Approves a Form for employee pay/position changes (APPROVE)
    Step3: HR Admin -> Process a Form for employee pay/position changes (PROCESS)
    Process Overview: HR Admin can open a form once all steps are completed and they want to see all 3 steps date & stamp here.
    New Comments -> To enter user comments in each step. Used data type HRASR_CURRENT_NOTE
    Previous Comments-> To display prev. step / user's comments including user name, date & time. Used data type HRASR_PREVIOUS_NOTES.
    I tried all different property settings in the form. May be I am still missing some property settings here.
    Issue:  If user enters any comments in "New Comments" box then only date & time stamp is coming along with their comments in "Previous Comments" otherwise not showing anything, just blank in the Prev. Comments.  I added some code in form script in case no data in "New Comments" then default a value ":" . It is working fine for first step but not working the same for other 2 steps.
    Trying in different way:
    Creating 3 text fields in a form just for display purpose and modifying each field (data set) with some text (combination of user name, system date and time) at each stage/step in a BADI.
    Method: IF_HRASR00GEN_SERVICE~DO_OPERATIONS
    Here it is updating correctly for first step/stage (REQUEST) and other 2 fields are not updating accordingly. I did debug for each step and updating the data set correctly but finally not dispalying the valuse in a form except first field.
    Can someone please share your ideas or inputs.

    Thank you for your reply.
    As I explained in my post, user details with date & stamp are coming when user enters some comments otherwise it is blank., All users may not enter comments because it is not a "required".
    HR is needed this for audit purpose, just at end of the process they need to see all user names, date & stamp in the form. Forget about comment boxes, Can't we make just simple text fields with user details for each step (all 3 stages)?
    FYI:

  • HCM Processes & Forms in EccEhp7/EP7.4

    Hi all,
    We are on SAP ECC EHP7, and SAP EP 7.4.
    On EP, we installed business packages:  ESS WDABAP and MSS Add-on 1.0. The ESS/MSS are based on new WDA content, so there was no need to create JCO connections.
    We are started developing and using HCM processes and forms, using adobe interactive forms.
    to test the HCM P&F, is it the only way that testing can be done using SAP EP only?
    I checked in EP, but the role HR Administrator is not available. do we need to install a special content into EP.
    although we are in ecc ehp7/ep7.4, is HR Administrator role is based on Webdynporo Java iview or WDA iview, is it mandatory to use jCos,
    For AIF based P&F, is it mandatory that approver accesses UWL in portal only.
    instead of AIF, if we start using FPM based P&F, how can we test directly without Portal.
    actually, we are just in development phase, we are the checking the options of handy way of testing end to end, the AIF based and FPM based P&F.

    Since you are on the latest EhP it is better to go with the newly delivered start process application which documented @ Assignment of a Process to PFCG Roles - HCM Processes and Forms - SAP Library as mentioned by Deepak. The advantage being this application is capable of launching both AIF and FPM based forms and is based on WDA which SAP's preferred UI development technology for Business suite applications.
    Most of the testing can be done directly using HRASR_TEST_PROCESS in DEV.
    If the customer is ok with using NWBC in place of portal there is no need to use UWL. But NWBC HR Admin role uses POWL based workflow inbox in place portal UWL. However workflow scenarios should be tested from the portal UWL/POWL inbox - so as to ensure the complete process flow works seamlessly.
    As long as you use WDA based applications I think JCos will not be needed.
    Moreover with the note 1685257 - Upload of SAP delivered NWBC Roles to SAP Netweaver Portal you can port NWBC PFCG SAP_ASR_HRADMIN_SR_HCM_CI_4 role to portal role.

  • HCM process & Forms - Need logic to handle the Error's when Infotype Update

    Hi Experts,
    Currently im working with HCM process and forms workflow's. I have ten HCM workflow's and everything is working fine.
    Now the issue is, at the time of save, if there is any error like infotype lock or any other Master data error's, then the standard task responsible for save the data, returns the Status as Error.
    Already the approval process for the request is carried out, and it can not be make it again. So I need to save the data without re execution of the process or without re-approval.
    I searched in standard workflow also. There is no option to handle the Infotype update Error's.
    So can any one give me some hint about this? Without the re-initiation i need to save the data's.

    If you are using the framework to update specific infotypes and they are locked for "no apparent" reason you'll want to open an SAP message.  I would highly discourage you from going down the path of calling that FM, from within workflow no less.  Workflow in the framework was not intended to do such operations, this is supposed to be handled in the decoupled infotype framework (through configuration)... not to mention you won't be using the dec. infty framework by calling that function.
    While I've had to do this before, it was because of a limitation in the framework not something as trivial as a locked infotype.  Who knows, it might actually be locked for a legitimate reason?

  • HCM processes & form- a line is displayed in portal instead of Adobe forms

    Dear FRIENDS,
    In HCM PROCESSES And FORMS , when we run a process, adobe form is not displayed. In place of that a single line is displayed.
    When  I  implemented the SAP note 1334453 it gave dump in portal saying ASSERTION CONDITION WAS VIOLATED.
    Then I reset the SAP note. Still facing the same problem.
    Please help ASAP.

    When we execute 3rd step, a straight blank line comes. When we press Previous button, a popup window appears giving message ' Data will be lost', It suggets that form is there but it is hided.
