HCM workflow :can it be customized for new employee induction process?

Hi
I understand that workflows can be customized to reflect complicated approval mechanisms.
But can we link e-recruitment and training modules for a workflow on new employee induction training process??
Appreciate any insights into related issues.

you can do what ever u want with workflow. some topics which will help u
1. identify the trigger point to start the workflow
2. identify the tasks u want to perform in the induction process & create workflow steps for them
3. if standard BUS object is not available then create a custom as per your requirement
4. create custom workflow with the steps created
now the trigger point can be assigned to the custom workflow

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

If you mean the built-in functionality of Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash, it's different mechanism for both.

After you've studied the above guides, you need to implement those to be used with ConfigMgr application deployment so that when you deploy Reader/Flash, you get the result you want = no automatic update functionality.

E recruiting Data Transfer for New Employee

          We are implementing E-recruitment 3.0, Ecc 6.0 and E recruitment system are in the same system, we processing internal recruitment currently, here i can receive the internal applications, we can able to view and process the applications in recruiter role. Here i can execute the sequence of activities for application process group for received applications, we not integrated any XI systems for e recruitment process.
         After processing the activity to be hired, the next activity is Data transfer for new employee, this is also executed successfully for data transfer of employee positions, job, org unit details etc.
       1. whether transferred data of applicant is processed via transaction PA48(Hiring of transferred employees)for internal recruitment in R/3 HR system, after the data transfer activity in E recruitment portal screen ?
       2. is any other roles and application url available for Hiring internal candidate which could be done in portal E recruitment screen itself with out coming to R/3 HR transactions side ? with out going into PA48 for hiring.
      3. any specific roles we have assign for recruiter ?
      4. any process carried out in Managerial self service?(according to me MSS is different instance to process recruitment process for internal and external recruitment for Vacancy filling) please correct me my vision on MSS.

If you are selecting the internal candidate , you need not hire the employee again using PA48. You can trigger transfer / change in position workflow using PCR form.

I dont think we have any specific action from eRecruitment side to run the hiring action.This needs to be done from R/3 only.

If its intergrated portal with the Requestor role attached in the manager profile , they will be able to carry out both internal and external candidates selection. I dont think you would require different instance.
We can also wait for someother inputs from forum gurus.

E-Recruiting : Transfert for new employees

Hello,
I implemented the transfert for new employees from e-recruiting (3.0) to HR (ECC 6.0). It's work fine but this interface transfert not all the data from e-recruiting (like phone number or birthplace).
How can I extend this interface. I havn't found some documentation on the markterplace.
Have you an experience or a documentation of this topics ?

Hi,
the number of values transfered from e-recruiting to ecc for hiring is quite low and cannot be extended without using modifications.
This restriction does not only apply to e-recruiting 300 but also to 600 and 600 EhP3.

Time Machine can't create space for new backups

For a couple of weeks my backups are failing. (Time Machine couldn't complete backup to "Time Machine Backups". The backup disk needs 156 GB for the backup but only 138 GB are available. Select a larger backup disk or make the backup smaller by excluding files.) I thought Time Machine was supposed to delete the oldest backups to make room for new ones? Thanks for your help.

It will delete the oldest backups, but when you have already deleted all of those, there will come a time when you will just run out of space.
If you don't think you should be at that point, tbirdvet is likely correct.

We have hired a new employee, maintained all infotypes including 0009 also. We are facing problem once the payroll have run. his RT table have got updated, cluster result have been updated. but when we go for posting purpose, that employee doesn't gets selected for posting run also. the system is not at all selecting the employee for any document creation.

Select the tick - display Log
Do live run
This will show you the run number if the employee data has already been selected for actual run.
You can use this Run number for further processing.

No Business Partner generated for new employee transfer from ECC to SRM

Hi All,
I am working on SRM 5.0 with ECC 6.0 backend. The HR structure is replicated from ECC using ALE, message type:HRMD_ABA.
When I am trying to replicate a new employee from ECC to SRM, I run the O-insert first, then the S-insert and then the P-insert using PFAL transaction.
The Org structure was already in place in SRM, so it just adds the new position to it by A003 relation. The S-insert generated idoc shows status as '53' in both ECC and SRT with the relation A003, B007 and A008. But, when I check the table HRP1001, the A008 entry is missing. Due to this, no CP is generated for this position and also no business partner is generated for this user.
When I run the P-insert for this employee, the idoc is posted in ECC. But, the status of the idoc in SRT is '52' and the message shown is "The Parameter Country Has Not been Entered During Naming Format Check" Message No. R11206.
I checked the Name Format for this employee, and it is maintained as 2.
Where am I going wrong? Why is no CP person generated even when the idoc status is 53? Why isn't the new employee getting transferred to SRM server?
I have checked the SAP notes related to HR-ECC Org transfer, but I am unable to figure out the reason for this problem.
Could anyone help me out in this?

Can't finish setup for new ipod

I recently lost my ipod and purchased a new 3rd generation nano. I reinstalled itunes, but cannot get past the software license agreement screen. Every time, I select "I have read and understand the agreement", then press save button. The agreement is saved to my hard drive, but then I return to the same screen. There is no way to synch my new ipod or put any music on it. Can someone give me clear instructions on how to deal with this problem? I sure wish I hadn't spent the money for another Apple product.

Can't paste password for new encrypted disk image.

Howdy all!
I have been trying to create an encrypted disk image with the Disk Utility, but I'm having trouble with putting in the password.
Using the password assistant, it only fills one of the two password fields, and I cannot copy/paste the password to the other field. If I generate a password elsewhere I cannot paste it into either box as well.
If I switch applications from Disk Utility and come back to the password dialog the menubar says I am still in whatever application I was last (in this case it says Firefox at the very left) and the Edit menu is completely grayed out.
Any idea how to get a non-typeable password into this dialog?

You can paste it in if you use hdiutil to create or mount the disk image (In Terminal.app). That's the
only way to go if you use a "bullet proof monster" password like I do.
To create an encrypted, sparse disk image, open a Terminal window and cd to the directory in which
you want to create the image file. For example:
cd ~/Desktop
Then type the command:
hdiutil create -size thesize -encryption -type SPARSE -fs HFS+ thename
live command example:
hdiutil create -size 1g -encryption -type SPARSE -fs HFS+ myimage
(this will create a 1gigabyte sparse image with the hfs format with the name "myimage.sparseimage"
#note: I love sparseimages and sparsebundles because they mount so quickly#
Above, the size is the maximum size that the volume will ever be able to contain, for example,
660m for 660 megabytes or 1g for one gigabyte. Note that if you want the image file to remain
below a certain size (such as the size of a CD) you must allow for approximately 10% overhead.
Also above, thename is the name of the image file you want to create, not the volume name.
The volume name will be "untitled". Rename as you would any other mounted volume (after it is
mounted).
You will be asked for a password or phase to secure your file. In terminal you may copy and paste
or use command + V keyboard combo. It will mount normally after that.
I don't use the "Remember password (add to Keychain)" function because my passphrase will be
visible in the Keychain to anyone with physical access to your computer.
Instead I use Terminal to open my new image.
Open terminal.app, simply type:
hdiutil attach /path/to/imagefile
example:
hdiutil attach /Users/kj/Desktop/myimage.sparseimage
(remember, you can drag and drop the file path into the terminal from Finder)
Terminal will ask for your password, simply cut and paste from your favorite password program
(such as "1Password").
There is a manual page available; type man hdiutil in the Terminal.

How come... some apps on old Curve can't be found for new Curve?

I was recently forced to upgrade from an earlier 9000 series Curve to a 9360. On my earlier phone, I had a bunch of good apps, including one for my bank of choice. Now that I've upgraded (??), I can't find the bank's app anywhere in the app store. Their mortgage app and their stock service app are there in all their shining glory, but the general accounts app is missing.
Am I the only one who thinks that a blackberry curve app is a blackberry curve app is a blackberry curve app?
Anyone know why this would be so? Thanks

You are probably not alone, but all who think so are sadly mistaken. Curve is simply a product line. For app compatibility, there are several items that must be met:
BB Device Model Number -- in your case, 9360
BB Device OS level
Carrier
Country
So no...an app written for a 9000 will not function on a 9360. The app developer must port their app to every device model number and major OS level combination...that is a lot of porting, so most developers elect to support only a subset. In any event, the place to make your inquiry is with the developer of the specific apps you desire, for they control their decision making process (e.g., if they will even support your platform) along with their schedule.

- define logical systems
- Create model 000
- Create planning version 000

It depends on which are the SAP Modules-Functionality you are implementing
In your list you can add
-- CIF related to settings
-- Live Cache settings done properly or not (Basis Team)
-- SAP Standard Planning area/Infoobjects are present in the system or not
-- Planning Object structures are active or not
-- Consistency check to be done for Live Cache, DB, Time seris etc
