HCPL0631 is not functioning properly please help!!

To adminitrator,
I am trying to use the HCPL0631 optocoupler for my simulation. However, this optocoupler will not function properly and will not give me a good result.
I have attached the circuit diagram in the attachment, please let me know what is wrong with my circuit causing the components to fail.
thank you for your kind attention

Actually, never mind about that, the model for the HCPL0631 isn't very good. It doesn't actual have a open collector output. It also has a built in VCC of 5V, so the power supply that you are attaching isn't really being used. Your problem is grounding. Multisim constructs mesh current and node voltage equations for simulation and can't do it accurately if you don't specify the ground for your circuit.
Try adding a ground to the GND terminal of the optoisolator. You should also have a ground attached to the cathode of the optoisolator or neutral wire of the function generator. The GROUND component is in the Master Database in the Sources group and in the POWER_SOURCES family.

  • Display not working Properly please help???

Hey all I have read thru about 25 pages of different posts relating to the video screen problem, and none see to be exactly like mine. I have 1st genereation IMAC G5, that had the orginally logic board problem where screen wouldnt come on at all, i got it fixed once under apple care warranty, then i had another problem where system kept crashing causing automatic restart which apple store genuis bar said was also logic board, this time i was out of applecare coverage but, i got ot covered thru the extension program that just ended in dec '08. Last week when i got home my screen was off, i restarted by holding pwer button down, then i got partial screen( only dock bar items, prgrams, & etc where showing, no desktop files), so i restarted again and got this strange pixeliate screen after loading(see image: http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s183/nofate21/Picture001.jpg), so i rrestarted know during loading process I get normal apple logo, but with horizontal pink lines running thru screen at variables( see image:http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s183/nofate21/?action=view&current=Picture003 .jpg & also http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s183/nofate21/?action=view&current=Picture003 .jpg). Now it varies when i restart CPU, sometimes I get completely black screens, sometimes i get blue screen with nothing, and the last couple of times I get a black scrren with a mouse cursor that moves normally. i have also tried restarting while hook-up to external display(my lcd TV) and I get same image (although minus the intermittent/variable horizontal pink lines), please help with any suggestion or even advice( such as trash it, try to fix with ordered parts, etc) Have appt with genuis bar, but already know the will say $800-1000 for new logic board or whatever

Are you saying you already got it fixed but the problem is reaccuring??
I am part of the unlucky ones who didnt't have applecare or the extended warranty. My iMac broke down 8 months ago. I no longer have any display. The strange thing was I left it at home because I went to uni, so there was a period of at least 10 months where it was not used. But still it failed within a few weeks of me getting back home. I was sucked in by their adverts making me believe they were a superior computer to any windows based. How wrong was I. It has now left me with a very bitter taste.
Any of you guys know if it still will work if I connect an external monitor?

  • Recovery Disks program does not function. Please help to fix

    Greetings everyone,
    I have a Lenova 3000 N100
    model# 0768DKU
    XP sp3
    original factory hardware still installed
My HDD is nearing its life and I want to get a new one so I was asking how I could restore my computer to factory condition with the new HDD. I was told Lenova Care has the "Create Recovery Media" option.
However, when I open the program and select "Create Recovery Disks" a window opens saying "Resource required by this application are already in use. Please retry after the other application completes"
I have no application running. I have restarted the computer twice and still this window displays this message. All of the great thinking Lenova had when they created this distibution method is now trashed. I can proudly say, that my system was totalled by a virus and the built in system restore feature was wonderful and worked as promised. But this assumes that the HDD will function and mine is about to be finished.
Is there any shortcut to getting the "Recovery Disks" made without this program. I can see that in the root of the HDD there are folders that contain all of the factory installs but I have no idea what to do.
    Please help and thanks

Does your MacBook have a "Core Duo" processor or a "Core 2 Duo" processor.  Lion won't work with the first, only with the second.
What is the "System" application that you used to back up your Mac?

  • Battery not behaving properly, please help

Hi, I just got a replacement from apple (ipod touch 4g), but the battery is not working as it should. When it runs of, the ipod shouldn't be able to turn back on, instead, it would show an empty battery icon. Besides this, when you plug it, it should not work for about 10 minutes until it's got some charge... This "new as, they say" ipod, does turn on without battery, the apple icon shows up, and as soon as it gets to the home screen, it suddenly dies again. I've done this for about 8 times in a row, nothing changes. When I plug it, it immediately turns back on... I've compared it with my girlfriend's both fully charged, using the same app, same brightness, push deactivated and mine discharges way faster... Can any body help me?? Thanks

    when it runs out*

Before doing any worrying about layout problems, please fix the errors shown here -
    http://validator.w3.org/unicorn/check?ucn_uri=http://www.braintree.gov.uk/intranet_test/in dex.html&ucn_task=conformance
It makes no sense to troubleshoot a page that contains invalid code!
I note that your approach to layout is to use absolute positioning for everything.  This is deadly.  To see what I mean, browse to your page and increase the text size several times in the browser.  Get the picture?  That's what happens when you layout the page with absolutely positioned containers for your text.  Please read this to find a MUCH better way -

  • My Albums Will Not Sort Properly, Please Help!

I deleted everything from my iTunes library so I could start over again, making sure everything was neat and tidy, all in the right place and completely SORTED for when I get my iPhone 3G. Now, I have just started importing my full albums and I want them sorted into their actual albums. For example, the first album I have imported is Ministry Of Sound: Anthems and I want it in my library stating that the album is called Ministry Of Sound: Anthems and there are 21 tracks in this album. Although, unfortunatley, this is not the case. Instead it has sorted each song sepreatley, stating only the album name and the artist, even when I am in "Sort Album > By Title" view. Below is screenshot (and a link for if the picture does not display) of what I mean.
    http://img217.imageshack.us/my.php?image=itunesproblemxi4.jpg
Note also, under the search box at the top right, it states "21 Albums, 21 Songs" when in fact I want it to display "1 Album, 21 Songs". Could someone please tell me how to do this as soon as possible.
Thank you very much in advance,
    Elliot.

Thank you very much, the problem has been resolved. I'm glad I asked and will return if any problems arise. Thank you again, Elliot.

Since I upgraded to version 8.02 on my iPad2 Safari and Google Chrome do not work beyond displaying a series of websites.
When I want to enter a website they do not respond .
Can anyone tell me what I can do about this?

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

  • Freeze Frame Does Not Work Properly Please help

I have a sequence that will be cut into a master sequence consisting of six video tracks. When I invoke the Freeze Frame command, the resulting freeze frame only has the video from the bottom track (V1). This happens no matter where the playhead is when I select Freeze Frame. Even after rendering the sequence a Freeze Frame will only contain the video from the bottom track. Why???
    FCP HD 4.5
    Mac OS 10.3.9
    QT 6.5.2
    G4-500DP   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

The Freeze Frame function targets the bottom most track with the AUTOSELECT button active. Autoselect is the gray box to the right of V1, V2, etc.
Are all your video tracks composited so that they are all visible at once? Then try nesting them, THEN making the freeze frame.

  • Transparent images are not viewing properly. please help

after the latest update version 25, there is always a white background
even the firefox addon transparent-standalone-imag doesn't work

It seems I found a workaround.
You need to install Greasemonkey, go to this link:
    https://userscripts.org/scripts/show/153158
(Standalone Image Background and Transparency) and install script. After that you can change background options of standalone images.
I always thought that dirty gray background, instead of transparency, was something like a bug, but it is just retarded feature =/

  • The u, j, m and 7 keys on the keyboard are not functioning properly on my macbook air. Please Help!

The u, j, m and 7 keys on the keyboard are not functioning properly on my macbook air. In its place are a random assortment of keys (Ex - u = "eqrw" or "IOUY"). This randomly happened when logging back in after sleep mode. No liquid damage at all. Please help!

OK, I fixed the problem by doing a SMC (System Management Controller) reset as follows:
    1. Powered off my MacBook and removed everything connected except for the power chord.
    2. When powered off, I held "Shift" + "ctrl" + "Option" + "Power button" for 5 seconds or so until the little light on the front started to blink rapidly.
    3. Powered up my Mac, which took a little longer than usual to start and tested the "missing" keys which now works perfectly again.
Just added another couple of years usage with my aging mac :-)
