HD audio install

I have been stuggling with keeping my HD audio controller installed after I tried to downgrade.  It is the same old story told 1,000 times on this board.   I've been trying to get stable sound for the last year or so.
I generally don't use the install from HP but just manually direct it to the WeVhf5.inf file (or what ever it is) for Conexant 221.  During one attempt someone had suggested installing the HD audio bus by manually using a modded file for some type of hdadbus.sys flie (again, not exact) and that has stayed the longest.  Only I can't find it anymore.  Has any one seen that "technique" to getting the hd audio controller to stay?
Thanks for any help!

#? I cant get windows XP to recognise my Audio Card...
st, I uninstalled the onboard audio drivers/application - I was prompted to restart so i did.
I loaded BIOS and turned off onboard audio.
I re-started PC and attempted to install the Audio card from install disk. (FAILED at 72%)
Card only shows as two seperate PCI devices in "Device manager.
I downloaded latest drivers and tried to install but they wont work because the card is not recognised as anything but "PCI Device"
I uninstalled all creative + drivers
Tried 3 different drivers now..NO LUCK
I have latest BIOS version on MOBO?
How do I get XP to recognise the card as an Audio card and not PCI card ?
There are no phone numbers on this site and no support on the install disk..PLEASE HELP ME?

    Yet another wasted download..
Did not help me.. I got this result :-
"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure your product is fully installed before running this Setup Program. Setup will exit."
I went to the drivers folder and tried to install the XP drivers..With this result :-
    "No supported Device Found"
This is obviously a big problem with MANY MANY posts that are similar.. FIX IT CREATIVE !! (I am tempted to buy a different brand Audio card)?

  • Hp dv6000 no audio installed

hey guys im needing some advice here i have a dv6000 that was working great with windows 7 ultimate untill oneday i turn it on and i have no sound or cd rom neither device is listed in the device manager and it says no audio output device is installed but randomly sometimes when i turn the pc on i will have bot cd drive and sound untill i shut it off or it goes to sleep any ideas??

Just thought I would let you guys know that after weeks of trying just about everything, I broke down and bought a little 2 dollar USB sound adapter off of ebay, and it actually works. It is plug and play, and once the drivers install off of Vista, it creates its own volume slider in the tray at the bottom right. But, the sound quality is VERY bad thru speakers at even medium volume. Soooo, I am going to try and buy one that is about 8 dollars that has a volume control on it and see if that is any better. I think it has a pre-amp.
I would try my USB headphones, but I think they are broken. Someone should try that and see if it helps any.

  • Does my Server need audio installed for streaming audio and video

I have flash media streaming server installed onto my s
erver and wondered whether i actually need a sound card on my server to enable audio to be streamed. I was told i
did not??? so how would audio be streamed if no sound card/???

Flash Media Interactive/Streaming/Development Server only stores and serves files hence it doesn't need any audio/video devices installed. The Flash Player or FMLE does need access to local media resource in order to incroporate audio/video data.

  • Car Audio Install

Ok so I have a new vehicle and the Rockford Fosgate sub and amp from my old car. I want to hook it up to the stock headunit in a 2003 Olds Alero . I have the sub amp and sub box. How much and how long would it take to install?
    what else would I need?
    thanks

line out converter would run you 15 dollars that will connect to the factory head unit
installation is 49.99 for that part, the amp installation is 99.99.  you will need an amp kit also that will range anywhere from 79.99-149.99. the installer will let you know which guage and also what price that will be before the installation.  the installation time is between 2.5-4 hours depending on the installer and how busy the floor is that day since installers sell and also install.  call your local best buy to get your offical quote and book your appointment. otherwise you can book your appointment at the link below.

  • Problems with Nforce4 install - audio/ethernet/raid

Just installed my Neo4 Platinum Nforce4 with XP Home SP2. I have a problem with the drivers. I went to the Nvidia site and download both the Unified Drivers and the standalone Kit for XP.
The unified driver set didn't seem to do anything at all, it seemed to quit half way through the install without giving me any finished message. A quick look in device manager and I saw about seven items with yellow warnings!
I then tried the standalone kit which worked better, however after the install I am still left with 3 items in device manager that are giving me warnings. Multimedia Audio Controller, Ethernet Controll & Serial ATA RAID controller. I have no audio at all, I just the BIOS is all is OK, as it is for everything else. In the sound section of control panel there is no audio hardware available.
Can anyone help please? I dunno what I could have done wrong. It's a fresh install.

I have now done eveything you've said. I installed the Nforce drivers off the CD, and then installed Realtek, Ethernet & RAID via Live update. I also tried to do the NVMixer & Nvidia Audio install install. I installed  realtek from the add/remove software menu. I then went into add new hardware and did manual install, show all hardware, have disk. Then I browsed to the Nvidia Audio codec folder on my desktop that I download. I was given an option of two drivers "nvmcp" & "nvmpu". I picked the first and ended up choosed "Nvidia audio codec interface" which then installed. It then appeared in device manager. However, when I clicked the audio panel in control panel I still get no audio device installed? I then tried to install NVMixer and when I try to run the application I get this message:
"the application cannot start because it could not detect any NVIDIA Nforce hardware on your system...."
What am I doing wrong? When I did the driver install there were two things listed in each driver "nvidia audio codec interface" and also "nvidia audio processing unit", which should I be choosing? Even if I try and installed the "MVP audio processing unit" I'll get a code(10) device cannot start in device manager. This is kinda confusing.
I also wondered about the RAID controller software. The silicon image drivers that came on the MSI seem horrible, they installed Java too. Is there any way to disable this controller? In the BIOS I can only see one option to enable RAID and when this is enabled device mananger will show an error on an "unknown device". I assume this is the NVRaid? and speaking of NVraid which is mentioned in big fat type on the back of the MSI box, so far I've seen or heard none of it during this installtion?

  • X-Fi Audio - Subwoofer NOT working in Vista 32-bit Ultimate!

<X-Fi Audio - Subwoofer NOT working in Vista 32-bit Ultimate!I I have WIndows Vista 32-bit Ultimate and Sound Blaster X-Fi Audio installed and with the factory drivers (I tried another set earlier and they did not work, so I reinstalled the original drivers which worked, at least partially). Until now I only listened to music using my headphones, but I tried today to plug-in my 5. Genius system (50W RMS) and everything works fine EXCEPT the subwoofer does not produce any sound at all!! The ONLY way to make it work is go to Control Panel -> Sound -> Speakers -> press Configure and then click the Test button in the dialog that appears (or click the subwoofer icon to make it produce a very nice bass sound - which I absolutely love, but it's the only way to make my subwoofer work!!!). Please guys, help me find out what the problem is. All help is much appreciated. Thank you!

    cipriansk7 wrote:
Thank you my friend,I have done as you have mentioned (made sure the DLL did not stay there when I rebooted before I installed your version), and now I have the version which you have built. However, I am still unable to hear the subwoofer I am so sad... even my default on-board card supports the 5. just great, and I love the sound of that, but I was hoping for something better from Creative - instead, all I got was a soundcard I can only use with my headphones at the moment because of a faulty driver...
    Did you enable Bass Redirection?
Run Console Launcher, click on Speakers and Headphone -> choose 5. Speakers.
Then click on Bass (Bass Management) and enable Bass Redirection.

  • Skype crashing when audio starts

I am attempting running Skype on Windows 7 64 bit (Deskside PC)
Whenever I attempt to use sound - either answering a call / making a test call / setting up audio -  Skype crashes - so I simply cannot use Skype .
I have Realtek High Definition Audio installed (card plugged into motherboard) and selected as the system creating sound through my speakers (works fine on other sound-generating software)
Also have ASUS Xonar DG Audio installed (came with motherboard - not used as I have the Realtek audio board installed)
Anyone any suggestions on how to get Skype working on my PC!?!?!?!

You may want to try disabling one of your audio devices.  So if it's onboard, try going as far as disabling it in the BIOS.  You could also try upgrading to the latest Realtek drivers, to see if that changes anything.
If the problem persists you may want to try an older version of Skype to see if it crashes.

  • Pulseaudio split front and rear audio

    Hello fellow archers!
I'm trying to have to separate sinks so that I am able to route some applications to my speakers, using the audio jacks from the back of my case, while other apps should play in my headphones using the jack from the front panel.
Right now what I hear in the speakers(back) I also hear in my headphones (front)
I have pulse audio installed and I tried this Splitting front/rear from the wiki.
So in my /etc/pulse/default.pa I added:
    load-module module-remap-sink sink_name=speakers remix=no master=alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo channels=2 master_channel_map=front-left,front-right channel_map=front-left,front-right
    load-module module-remap-sink sink_name=headphones remix=no master=alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo channels=2 master_channel_map=rear-left,rear-right channel_map=front-left,front-right
    Running pacmd list-sinks lists this:
Welcome to PulseAudio! Use "help" for usage information.

Now when I route vlc to play on the remapped sink, speakers, it's the same as before: I hear the same thing in my speakers and my headphones.
When I route vlc to play on the second remapped sink, headphones, I hear nothing at all, neither in my speakers or my headphones.

What am I doing wrong ?

    Hello fellow archers!
I'm trying to have to separate sinks so that I am able to route some applications to my speakers, using the audio jacks from the back of my case, while other apps should play in my headphones using the jack from the front panel.
Right now what I hear in the speakers(back) I also hear in my headphones (front)
I have pulse audio installed and I tried this Splitting front/rear from the wiki.

I am having the exact same issue with my speaker/headset configuration.
Either sound on both devices (headset and speakers),
or no sound (even though pavucontrol shows some activity).
    Anyone found any solution yet?

  • MacBook Pro: No Audio from Internal Speakers - Solution

Issue: (MacBook Pro late 2010) Absolutely no audio to internal speakers after OSX has booted up.
Digital Out is the only available output device shown within System Settings
    Analog headphones work
    Digital Out works
Bootup "BONG" works (and is of course now perma loud after PRAM reset... uggh)
Things I have tried from least drastic to greatest in the following order:
    sudo killall coreaudiod
    Clear PRAM
Using Deploy Studio (first performing DiskUtility format as well):
re-image MacBook with a the same original OSX Lion image it has been working with for the past 3 months
re-image MacBook with previous Snow Leopard image (obviously used to work)
Not using Deploy Studio (but first performing DiskUtility format, using original supported installation media: DVD, Apple Store):
Installed Snow Leopard (no audio), then upgraded to Lion through Apple Store (still no audio)
Installed Snow Leopard using installation DVD provided with MacBook Pro (< waste of time as the above step didn't work either, but including here for completeness)Note: Even the "Welcome to Mac" intro movie is silent, audio controls are crossed out
Gentoo Live DVD _works_ (after enabling Front Speakers using alsamixer other wise it was also muted and no audio would work except through head phones)
Well holly $%#$%,  %^#&^. After performing step 5, and enabling Front Speakers using alsamixer, I now have audio in OSX Lion
I believe this happened after I used the Mini Stereo jack for Head Phone use.
How in the ______ did this happen? And why did it take a third party software to _somehow_ enable audio to the internal speaker _after_ OSX Lion completely booted?????
Note to all: You can probably use a Ubuntu Live CD to perform step 5. Or any live cd that loads up Intel Audio drivers.

I appreciate your response. I still have concerns:
The red-lite is off when my issue is happening.
The red-lite is on when my issue is happening.
It was not consistent. My concern is the Macintosh operating system not detecting the change. My other concern is it can _not_ be only a hardware switching issue, as Alsamixer, a software program, can make the switch toggle between off or on. If it was a hardware-only issue, Alsamixer would be a fail. And, if it is actually a hardware-only issue triggering a software 1 or 0 switch somewhere:
My final concern is 'where is this setting being stored' as clearning PRAM and reinstalling entire operating system after opertating system (Leopard to Lion and back to Leopard) after a disk wipe has no effect.
I guess it sounds to me, that OSX tries to be too user-friendly by not allowing peeps to change those options themselves. Is there a dscl command switch I can use to manually override such an effect? (Just in case I don't happen to have anything to stick into the mini-jack port)
Regardless, your answer is correct. Thank you both (Ciao and Allan Jones)
