HD Capture Card - Osprey 700 HD Supported?

Any word on if/when the Osprey 700 HD Capture card will be
supported in FME? We're attempting to live-stream both SD and HD
content on our website and would like to use the Osprey 700 HD
capture card. As nearly all other Osprey cards are supported by FME
I'd assume this one would be too however I thought it best to ask
if anyone else has tried?

Actually, does anyone know if this one would work on my iMac? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815116030
I read on another website that it works on both Windows and Mac OS so I would just like to know before I went and bought it.

  • Video capture cards, RT effects, render support

I'm looking into buying either a AJA Kona SD or Blackmagic Decklink Pro SD capture card. I'm primarily buying for RT and render support and want to know if anyone can verify the benefits.
I currently don't get much in the way of software-based RT effects support from FCP. It's probably because I'm still using nothing better than a 7,200rpm IDE drive for my media.
Blackmagic provides a list of FCP RT effects they support and mention some of their own. AJA doesn't mention which RT effects they support, just that they support some. What should I believe? I've read in the reviews that all this RT support is pretty limited once I get to a 2-track or 2-stream effect. Is this really true?
Both companies claim "render support" for FCP. (I use FCP 4.5). To what degree is this the case? Can I expect sizeable reductions in my rendering time? Will I only get this benefit if I'm editing in an uncompressed timeline? How about a DV timeline?

Lets not leave Aurora out of the picture here. Their capture cards are arguably higher quality than Decklink, and on par or better than AJA. A little less known, but very easy and simple to use...http://www.auroravideosys.com/products/index.php
I use the PipePro Studio and it is a breeze.
Now...for the realtime effects. Nothing helps with this other than a faster processor. The capture cards do not give you more realtime effects. What they mean by realtime is that you get realtime effects with their codecs. So the normal effects you get in realtime, like cross dissolves and 3-way color correcting, the cards support those realtime effects for their capture codecs.
They do not increase the amount of effects that are realtime. That hasn't been supported since the Cinewave card way back at FCP version 3.

  • "video capture cards Osprey  100 and 2102

I'm doing FMLE eSTREAM  with 3.0 and I need a capture card. I have a doubt  about osprey cards 100 and 210. What is the  output format of these cards. buy the card and  install the drivers and is fully compatible with 3.0 FMLE,the output format  is compatible with the formats accepted FMLE 3.0 (I'm using H.264  compression mpeg4 formats are accepted) or need to use that program  osprey "SIMULSTREAM "
Thank you very much for your reply

Tell me  to  summarize I  can be used osprey 100 capture card that converts pal to  raw format. the encoded or compressed  FMLE 3.1 using (in my case) H.264 and then the flash media server completes streaming.
Tell me if using capture cards ATI give me an output format H.264 and use the  FMLE3.1  again and then compress it using H.264 and Flash media server completes streaming, is this  correct?

  • Laptop capture card supported by FMLE?

I looked at the supported devices that Adobe listed for 2008, does anyone know if there is an updated list around?  Also, is there a firewire capture card on the market yet that will do live streaming well?

    The latest list is http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashmediaencoder/FMLE_DeviceMatrix3.0.pdf
Osprey 560 card has firewire input and is also present in above list.

  • Does Logic 9 Support FCP Capture Cards?

Does Logic 9 support FCP video capture cards for audio in an out?
I have a Blackmagic Decklink Extreme, analog ins/outs as well as digital AES/EBU
Didn't have much luck with Logic 8 and the FCP cards so I used my Line 6 GuitarPort but it only has one 1/4" phono input.
    FutureX

    Hi FutureX,
I would suggest you ask your question on the FCP forum if you don't get any reply here. Maybe you'll find someone there who can be of help. In any event, i doubt that buying an MBox with PT LE will meet your requirement for FCP capture cards, really!
Apple won't respond to you here. That's not the place. This is a user forum. You could also call a production studio in your area and ask politely to a pro who's working with that stuff on a daily basis. I'm sure you can find someone. Good luck...

  • Is OL CS4 support capture card like BM Decklink HD?

    Hi,
I'm wondering if Onlocation CS4 will support a capture card like the BM Decklink HD.
I can't find any info on the web.
    Thanks!
    Alex

  • Multiple Capture Cards not Supported in Premier?

    Hello,
I have a PC running Windows Pro7.  The PC has two Blackmagic Designs Quad Decklink capture cards and an Intensity Pro capture card for a total of 9 capture inputs.
I need Premier Pro to capture video from Decklink (8) which is one of the inputs on one of the Quad Decklink cards.
This input works great in Blackmagic Media Express, Video mixing software and other capture software.
Premier Pro recognizes only 1 Blackmagic capture device, the Intensity pro.  It seems to work great but this input is HDMI only.  I need to input to the SDI on the Decklink Quad card.
I called BMD tech support and they told me that this is a fault of Premier Pro.  They said that Premier randomly pics from the available BMD capture devices and chooses one.  He said that if I power down and then power back up that I may very well find that the Intensity Pro no longer works but one of the other BMD capture devices might start working.  He said the only solution was to caputre video in a different software such as BMD Media Express.
I really need to capture in Premier Pro to optimize my workflow.  I don't have time in my live production to import a 3 hour auto racing event into Premier Pro.  If I can capture in Premier on the fly, I can go right into post production once the race is finished.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Import only takes seconds, so there should not be any problem capturing with the BM software.
The only alternative I can think of is to remove the devices that you don't want to use, so that only one is available for PP.

  • ViewCast Osprey 260e Capture Card

I am using Adobe Premire Pro 6 with a ViewCast Osprey 260e Capture Card. After following all of  the troubleshooting advice available (such as http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/cant-capture-dv-hdv-video.html), Premire Pro still does not recognize the card, as any attempt to capture video results in "Capture Device Offline". I am able to capture video with freeware such as VirtualDub. My main question is, is this card compatible with Premire Pro CS6?

PPro will only use a "card" when the card vendor has written a device driver to act as a "bridge" between PPro and the card's hardware
If your card vendor has not written a device driver that is specific to PPro, your card will not work
I have a Pinnacle DV500 card to digitize video from a VCR... and I have to have a dual boot setup so I may restart my computer and use WinXP and the OLD Premiere 6.5 to be able to use the old device driver that Pinnacle wrote for Premiere 6x... and never updated to Premiere Pro

  • Unable to record audio with FMLE/Osprey 700 HD

I have deployed a C# desktop application on a Server machine (Windows Server 2003 SP2), which wakes up and streams the incoming video/audio signals to a Flash media server. The Server machine is using this card (ViewCast Osprey-700 HD Video Capture Card) for getting the audio/video input.
The problem is that, I can successfully stream the video but not audio. If I start FMLE GUI the audio driver is not listed and it complains that "an audio device was not found". I also tried to run my app as a Scheduled task under a different user than the one I use for Remote Desktop, but it fails for the audio.
I tried updating the driver with no success. Any clue?

I have more or less the same issue, it just doesnt show any audio devices.
Im thinking FMLE is not looking at the right spot for audio devices.

  • BlackMagic Intensity Pro Capture Card & (3) 1TB Internal Hard Drives

    Hello,
This is my first time using BM Intensity Pro. Prior to tonight all I used was FW400 & iMovie/iDVD.
I have now upgraded to Final Cut Studio with a BM Intensity Pro Capture Card and Three 1TB Hard Drives (7200 RPM with 32MB cache) - Striped as a RAID set to create ONE 2.7 TB HD for Video Storage.
I have a few questions that I would like some help with.
I would like to capture at the highest video quality possible.
I'm worried that Hard Drives wont be able to handle the capture speed or file size?
I ran the BM Disk Speed Test. I'm just not sure what all these numbers mean?
Can someone please explain to me what the following information is telling me?
Do the results mean that I'm good to go with uncompressed HDV via HDMI?
The first is my OEM Mac Hard Drive. The second is my 3TB RAID set.

I would invest in an external RAID controller.
You can find a variety of such from AMUG in RAID5/6 that will support higher sustained thruput.

  • Plug-in for StarTech Video Capture Card

StarTech'website shows their ECHDCAP ExpressCard video capture card supports Adobe Premiere CS5 plug-in for editing. I talked to a Tech at StarTech and he said the card should work with Premiere Pro CS5 & CS6 but StarTech doesn't support it, and he didn't know where I can get the Premiere SC5 plug-in. Does anyone know what plug-in StarTech is referring to, and where I can get it?
If anyone is currently using the ECHDCAP capture card or the StarTech USB3HDCAP Capture Device, please let me know how you got it working with Premiere Pro.

    Ann & Bill,
I probably should have given you more information. This application is different than what I usually use Premiere for.
One of my hobbies is shooting long range rifles at 1,000 yards. I'm trying to capture the point of impact on steel targets 500 to 1,000 yards away. I've attached my XA10 to my Swarovski spotting scope so I can see the impact. I've been transferring the video from the XA10 to my computer through the USB port, then importing the video into Premiere and adding it to the sequence. By the time I get all this done, then scrub the video to find the frame with the initial BANG, then count 41 frames forward for 870 yards, then scrub the video again to find the impact point, the wind and several other conditions have changed which affect my next shot. this makes for a long and tedious day.
The bottom line is... I'm trying to streamline my workflow so I can capture the video from my XA10 straight to a Premiere sequence, then start scrubbing the video to find the point of impact.
The reason I'm using Premiere is because none of my other programs allow me to scrub with audio.
I would prefer not to spend $600 for a Maxtor MX02 Mini and ExpressCard adapter; especially since it requires 110 volts and that's not available at the shooting range.
If you know of another way to do this, or can recommend an inexpensive program that will allow me to capture audio and video from my XA10 and scrub it with audio, I'd sure appreciate hearing about it.
    Thank you,
    Brian Scura...

  • Blackmagic Capture Cards?

    Anyone using Blackmagic capture cards?
I have an Intensity Pro. Composite and s-video work fine. I
cannot get component working with a 720p or 1080i signal. FMLE
doesn't give me the option to select a resolution higher than
720x486. I haven't tested the HDMI input. Any ideas?
Maybe the problem is related to
    this
    post?

The video doesn't work for me.
I can get video output from the blackmagic media express software.
    set to 1080i 59.94
The control panel for the blackmagic is set to 720p HD to SD letterbox 16:9 downconvert....
But when I launch the FMLE i just get a blank screen.
I'm told there is an ACC plugin to fix the audio isssu.  HDMI is outputing sound at higher then 44100 so you need a plugin to deal with that...
But my probelm is with the video... I don't get a video stream....
Hell it would be nice if FMLE would support 1900x1080 and not make me mess around with all this....
    anyone hanve any ideas?

  • Do I have to have a capture card to use FCP?

I'm considering laying out the dough to upgrade from FCE to FCP but I noticed that the apple site says I have to have a "support 3rd partycapture card". I'll admit I'm green on what that means.
I currently import all my video media directly from my sony z1u via firewire.
Does the firewire import negate the capture card requirement?
If not, can someone recommend the necessary capture card for a Mac Pro 2.66?
    thanks in advance...
    -James

No, you'll be fine with just standard FireWire, capturing HDV (of DV if your downconvert in the camera) from your Z1U.
If you were to use any other (more expensive) capture card, to maybe capture uncompressed HD from the component outputs of your Z1, the image quality won't be any better, as the image is compressed to HDV to be recorded on tape.

  • Adobe Connect 9 compatible Video Capture Card

We have used an Osprey 260e Capture card successfully with version 8.  Unfortuantely this card does not work with the Adobe Connect 9 add-in.  Is there anyone in this community that has a decent capture card that works fine with Adobe Connect 9?  Thanks in advance for your help!

Our Osprey 230 cards worked fine when Connect 9.0 was first released, but now we only get a black screen with Adobe Connect 9.02. Incredibly irritating. I've installed EZCap USB video capture devices until Adobe gets this fixed. Buy on eBay or go to http://ezcap.tv
