HD Controller Error in System Properties
Hello,
Under system properties--hard disk controllers I have 3 entries: Primary IDE Controller (single fifo), Secondary IDE controller (single fifo), and Duel PCI IDE Controller.
The primary and secondary IDE controller entries have exclamation marks next to them noting that they are not working corectly.
My 2 hard disk drives do not show under the disk drive entry due to the controller "errors".
What IDE drivers should I use to fix this problem. Since I cannot access the hard drives I cannot turn on DMA support.
Thanks for the help!

Does NVIDIA have any NF2 IDE drivers?
Thanks
Can your machine read CDs? There may be drivers for your IDE controllers under Windows ME on the CD that came with your motherboard.
Caveat: I am speaking from experience with EPoX and ASUS motherboards; I am fairly new to MSIs, but I would expect they would have the same sort of drivers available.

Try reloading these critical base drivers in this order. Download these to your desktop and double click on them to install.
Intel Chipset SW Installation Utility
Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
Intel Display Driver
Realtek Audio Driver
If this fixes up your problem, it was probably a Windows Update that caused the problem. I recommend setting Windows Update to only allow manual updates, and when you check for updates, never let it change any of your hardware drivers, Toshiba laptops are very finicky about using only their drivers.
Click 'Start - All Programs -Windows Update', then click on 'Change settings' on the menu at left, under 'Important updates' click on the drop down menu at right, select 'Never check for updates (not recommended)', and then click 'OK'.
Please let us know if it works. Good luck.

RAM not showing up in system properties
I have 3GB installed on my OLD Windows XP
I have noticed lately that when I checked my System Properties it only says 2GB.
But HWINFO32 shows 3GB
I ran memtest86 to see if my ram was failing but it passed.
Any ideas on why it only shows 2GB.
I have an Nvidia 9800 1024MB graphics card if for some reason that is subtracting from my total.
Thanks: GLennI have saved the DXDIAG file and uploaded it.
Does anyone think I should replace the CMOS battery ?
I have not had any problems with my time not working or it turning off and no warnings ?
Also, I have ordered 4 new 1GB Ram sticks so they are all the same speed.
My 2 512's are the slowest and the new ones will be faster then the 2 1GB ones I have there now.
I will pick up a can of air and clean out the unit too since its been over a year since I dusted it off.
Thanks: GLenn
I will paste the info below too.

Very strange error in text properties - AI CS6
Hello Everyone,
This morning I found very very STRANGE error in Adobe CS6 about text properties. Here you go.
In the picture one text 'ei and mosterd' was bold.
But after copy to new string the bold characters are changed to 'ig and mosterdz'.
This is very strange error I have seen ever.
Do you guys have any reason why CS6 act like this?
also do you have any option to fix this issue?
For your information:
I just done copy past. Nothing else.
All the properties are same for both.
No difference except the text string size
I tried the same file in different machines for check. But I still see the same error in all the machines.
System properties:
Mac os x: 10.8.5
Processor 2,8 Ghz Intel Core i5
Memory: 8 GB
Software: Adobe CS6
Regards,
FroQWow, this is absolutely incredible... you try to parse an empty String to an int and it throws an exception... I'd never have thought.

Hi,
I created a system in EP for publishing some RFC- based reports in EP without writing code. I given all detail for my R/3 system .I mapped my user id and password in EP and R/3.But i testing the system connection like System name-open-connection test i am getting error like this;
Test Connection with Connector
Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
Results
Could not retrieve default alias. Make sure the system object has at least one alias.
How to resolve this error to stabilesu2019 the connection.
Thanks,
KundanHi kundan,
Once we have created a system at Portal , we provide the Properties like ITS and WAS.
These are Object properties of teh system which we create.
There will be a drop down where we can choose system properties as 'object','system alias, 'permissions' and 'Connection test'. Now at these we need to choose " system alias".
Here we provide a system alias and 'add as default'.
Now we are done with defining the default alias.
Hope this was helpful to you.

URGENT: Passing system properties to individual thread processes
Hi:
I'm trying to invoke multiple java Servers from a Controller class to enable starting all the servers in a single JVM. The code is shown below:
public class Controller {
/** Creates new Controller */
public Controller() {
* @param args the command line arguments
public static void main(String args[]) {
(new Thread(new Runnable() {
public void run() {
ChatServerRMI.Server.main(null);
})).start();
(new Thread(new Runnable() {
public void run() {
LoginService.LoginServerBaseImpl.main(null);
})).start();
However I want to pass system properties/arguments to each main() call. Can someone please explain me how this can be done.....ur help will be appreciated with D$s!
Thanks in advance.If by "system properties" you mean the system properties accessible by System.getProperty("user.dir") and the like, you don't have to do anything to make those available to the threads. They are global and any piece of code can access them.
If you want to pass arguments to the various "main" methods as if they had been typed at the command line, you just make an array of strings with those arguments and use it as the parameter. For example:ChatServerRMI.Server.main(new String[] {"-port" "2023"});And if you don't want to pass any parameters, do it like this:String[] nothing = new String[0];
LoginService.LoginServerBaseImpl.main(nothing); -
256MB RAM in System Properties but 512MB in Sys Information
Hi. I just bought Athlon64 3500+ 939 socket system. Mobo is MSI Neo2 K8T MS-6702E.RAM is 512 MB DDR 400 Mhz one.The problem is when I right click "My Computer" and go to Properties , its showing as 256 MB. Even I changed another RAM but still its showing same 256 MB !
But when I go to System Information under System Tools its displayed as Total Physical Memory as 512.00 MB. Even I tried changing Memclock value to [DDR400] under DRAM Configuration. But still its showing as 256 MB after booting Win xp and going to System Properties. But when I try to load default values and start booting its showing as 512 MB ! But then after restarting again its going back to 256 MB.
I did memtest and these were the results

And also when I restarted the system its not starting (i mean no signal power to monitor). And when I did reset that bios by using that jumper and then restarted, it did. This problem is happening many times
Please help me. Thanks.
EDIT: Though now this last problem is solved. I mean power coming to monitor is solved. Atleast I am happy in this. But please why is that memory problem? Any setting I have to change in BIOS? Did anyone else also incurred this problem other than both of us?;-((I have the same issue. Please help!

Controller error...
Hi there
I hope you can help.
I have a PC here which is reporting numerous controller errors, some of which culminate in the dreaded BSOD. I have included the information from one of the Event Viewer files below. If anyone can offer any advice please that would be much appreciated.
FYI I have run the Lenovo hard drive quick test and Windows memory diagnostic tools, both of which it passed.
Many thanks.

Satellite L505D Controller Error on IdePort1
I have a Satellite L505D-S5983 that keeps locking up momentarily.
When this happens I get the following in the Systems EventLog (windows 7)
Source: atapi
Event ID: 11
Description: The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort1.
Anyone know what device is at \Device\Ide\IdePort1 for this model?
Thanks,

Thanks!! This worked! It seems the Intel INF auto update utility didn't update them to the latest. I had to download the [RST and AHCI Driver and GUI|http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20110&lang=eng] and manually search for new drivers in device manager. Now the drive is noticeably quicker and error free :)

Satellite P300-156 - driver detected controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort1
Hi
I have recently installed a secondary hard drive in my P300-156 and am having some problems with it. I keep getting Event ID 11 in the system event log "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort1." and suffer with very bad performance with this drive.
The drive is new and works fine in other systems and even works ok if I swap drive bays on my P300-156 but the problem with that is the drive does not fit in the other bay as it is quite thick. The drive in question is a Samsung HM100UI 2.5" 1TB Sata. I have also tried other drives in this bay and they work ok too.
I am using windows 7 ultimate and Intel chipset drivers. It's an Intel ICH8M SATA AHCI controller, driver version 7.0.0.1013. Have tried different drivers and AHCI/IDE mode. Also tried a fresh installation and the problem persists.
Am at a loss why this drive is having problems is there anything else someone can suggest to try?
Thanks in advance.> {quote:title=peterk_1 wrote:}{quote}

I have been getting the following error repeatedly. My L765D-S7015 (purchased new 12/24/2010) unit has really slowed down and I have tried doing a recovery to no avail. The OS is Winodws 7 Home premium 64-bit. Any suggestions what I should be looking for, or should I take it in for service?

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1
Suspect trouble with the controller for the second disk shown in Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc). (The first one is DR0.)
I have tried doing a recovery to no avail.
That pretty much tells us that software is not the problem.

How can i ensure that the harddisk3 designation is relatd with USB etxernal disk?
I have several erros in LOGs:
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR3 during a paging operation.
and
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk3\DR7
All times are HardDisk3 and sometimes it references to DR3 and sometimes DR7
My disk structure is:
2 RAID5 arrays fomr the same disks (80GB and 2 TB)
and USB 2 TB External hard disk with several partitions
I´m 99% sure that the error is related to the external USB disk and the Dell DIag tool shows no problems with any component

For finding the exact hard disk you could refer to this article. It is an old article but the structure is not changed:
How to Distinguish a Physical Disk Device from an Event Message
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/159865
Meanwhile for the error message "error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR3 during a paging operation", according to my search result it could be related to fragments. So please try a defragment on your hard disk (if it is the USB disk then perform
a defragment on USB disk) and see the result.

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1-4\DR1-4.
Hello all
I just recently bought a new gaming PC on black friday and is running just fine. Then one day i decided to take a look in the event log and i notice an error that would appear four time during startup of the machine.
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR2.
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk3\DR3.
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk4\DR4.
I only have one internal hard drive located on disk 0 and an external located on disk 5. So i have no idea why i'm getting this error when nothing is connected.
I installed the latest controller drivers and just for fun everything else related to my GIGABYTE motherboard but unfortunately still occurs after turning my computer. (note for the bios i have version F4 not sure if updating it to F5 is worth doing for
this issue).
If anyone could help me with this error or if i can just ignore it.
Thank youAngel
If the drive is an SSD update the firmware.
Are the message an error (red symbol) or a warning (yellow symbol)?
I would also run CHKDSK and get the diagnostic utility (and run it of course) from the HD mfr.
CHKDSK /R /F
Chkdsk disclaimer: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found any data available on that sector might be lost so as usual backup your data.
Run CHKDSK /R /F from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt.
Do this for each hard drive on your system.
When it tells you it can't do it right now - and asks you if you'd like to do it at the next reboot - answer Y (for Yes) and press Enter.
Then reboot and let the test run.
It may take a while for it to run, but keep an occasional eye on it to see if it generates any errors.
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/guide-to-using-check-disk-in-windows-vista/
See "CHKDSK LogFile" below in order to check the results of the test.
CHKDSK LogFile:
Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Expand the Windows logs heading, then select the Application log file entry.
Double click on the Source column header.
Scroll down the list until you find the Chkdsk entry (wininit for Win7) (winlogon for XP).
Copy/paste the results into your next post.
