HD format from Casios Exilim F1

Anyone who knows if there is solution (maybee a plugin ?)
so CS4 can handle the HD format (the highest) from Casios
Exilim F1 camera. Right now I get a green screen when importing it(MOV format, H.264/AVC, IMA-ADPCM (stereo)).

I have the same problem. Video exported from FCE in 1080 .mov is very very poor quality. I have tried every export setting combination with no success. The property inspector says that it is 1080 resolution.
I can very easily export excellent quality 1080 .mov files, using the same source video, with iMovie. The two applications use the same export GUI.
The video was shot on a Canon 7D, H.264, 1920 x 1080, Millions Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian signed integer, 2 channels, 48000 Hz.

Cant watch movies from Casio Exilim Z750 Digital Camera

Help! I just purchased a verrrry fine Casio Exilim z750 (latest model) only to discover that i cant watch the movies it records on my mac!! does any one know if there is some sort of converter or program which automatically converts as it downloads the files on to my mac?? thank you!

The MPEG-4 .avi format that comes out of the camera can't be viewed by a Mac without some help.

Transfered video's from Casio Exilim appear as black squares in iPhoto 08

Video's appear as black squares within iPhoto instead of first frame. Nevertheless the black squares still have video logo and duration indication and after double click will open and play in Quicktime. However, this is quite inconvenient if you look for specific videos.
How to fix this?
(I used a Casio Exilim compact camera to shoot these videos)

Are you able to play the videos even though the thumbnail is black? You might try rebuilding the library as follows: launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Can't import video into IMovie 09 from Casio Exilim camera

I am new to mac and in the process of moving all my old files including many years of photos and video from my old pc life. The move has been painless up until I tried to finally make use of the old videos and create something in IMovie. I was really pumped up after watching the tutorial only to hit a brick wall when I realized that it would not be so easy after all.
So the problem is this: The video was shot with a Casio Exilim digital camera. The imported into IPhoto with my other pictures. When I click on the video in IPhoto, QuickTime opens and the video plays beautifully with full audio. The problem comes when I try to open that same video in IMovie 09. There is no video recognized. I have found from countless hours searching other threads that the .avi files needed to be converted. I have tried several and the only one I have had any luck with is MPEG Streamclip. I am able to convert the video, but there is no audio.
I am hoping for a simple solution.

In my continued search I have a solution to my problem and thought I would share it. If you search for a product called "Video Converter for Mac" it solves the problem. It will cost you $35, but that is much less expensive than a new camera.

I was wondering if anyone has a solution for this problem. I have some movie files from Casio Exilim camera that played in Tiger. Now that i have installed Leopard they dont play anymore. I installed Perian as somebody suggested on this forum. It did not work unfortunately. Thanks for any suggestions.

Can hear but not see movies from my Casio Exilim 7.2

Movies shot on my Casio Exilim 7.2 mega pixel camera open up in QuickTime, but I can only hear them, not see them. The files from the camera are .AVI files if that helps. Wondering if I am missing something. I went to the 3rd party software page, but either didn't see what I needed or didn't understand what I needed to download to make it work. I thought it was supposed to "just work." I'm using a brand new Macbook Pro core 2, 10.4.8

The inventors and creators of the AVI "container" (Micro$oft) abandoned the file format many years ago. They have moved on to WMP formats and no longer support AVI. They must know something!
You may be better served by exporting them to QuickTime file formats using QuickTime Pro or other third party conversion software.
Personally I wish AVI would just die (as intended by the owners) and disappear as a file container.

Another AVI Question - Casio Exilim Ex-S600 - Divx

Folks thanks for taking the time to help me out here. I am a brand new apple user, I just got my MacBook about a week ago.
My camera is a Casio Exilim Ex-S600 and in some reading it appears to take videos in DIVX MPEG4 based on a few quick searches.
I have read a little about installing the DIVX codec and little about the VLC player. I am trying to get some recommendations here. My goal would be to edit these files in iMOVIE and play them in QT. What is the native format for iMovie. The idea of having to get a windows machine to convert these is disturbing.
Am I making this more difficult then it actually is?

Are you recommending I install DIVX?
That or possibly the free Perian codec package. Wouldn't hurt for conversion by applications which rely on installed QT components but it won't help as far as iMovie '08 is concerned since neither the encode nor decode component will be avaiable from within iMovie '08. (I.e., it can be used for conversions by iMovie '06, QT Pro, GarageBand, or even MPEG Streamclip but you will still have to convert externally to iMovie '08 before importing.)
What about a app that would simply convert the files on a Mac.
I tend to use MPEG Streamclip for most conversions which relies on the QT "structure" embedded in the Mac OS since v7 was released (as well as whatever QT components you have installed to include WMV and DivX). You could also try FFmpegX or Visual Hub which I believe rely on on their own decoders but I'm not sure whether or not they handle all proprietary DivX formats.

Problems to connect Casio Exilim EX-Z600

I would be very thankful if someone could help me with my problem:
until some days ago, I never had problems to connect my Casio Exilim EX-Z600 via USB with iPhoto 5.
Today I tried several times (incl. restarting my ibook), but it still doesn't work...
What makes me wonder is, that I can't find the camera in the list of compatible cameras with Mac OS X (10.4.10).
I am confused. I connected the camera via USB for - I can't say how many times. In this way I loaded thousands of pictures in iPhoto...
Does anybody have an idea?

Unfortunately I can't help with the Mac connection, as I'm with the 'dark side' i.e. using a PC - lol, however I can point you to some places that I found very helpful for all things EX-Z750 related.
Firstly after charging your camera fully, you should perform a Firmare update from Version 1.00 to 1.01. This corrects over-saturation in colour, a whining noise on HQ movies and the odd focus problem. Follow this Link to Casio's site, enter the Serial number under the camera (but don't include the letter at the end or it'll never download - took me hrs to work that one out)

and head into the Casio Forums, the answers to everything about your new camera will be in there, use the search for easier access.
In the end I gave up on the iPod, bought an external 'USB to go' casing for a laptop drive for photo storage ! And bought an MP3 player that's not named after a fruit (sacriledge I know). 1 day later and I find that the Casio does work with the iPod photo (darnit!)

Importing photos from Casio EX-S600

Recently purchased my first MacBook. When I try to connect my camera via USB to import photos off of it, iPhoto does not recognize it. When I try to import them via Image Capture, it dow not show a preview of pictures, only Jpeg. Then when I hit download all in the Image Capture it never gets past "Preparing to Download".
Help!

I just discovered this problem today, having the first need to record video with my Exilim....than having QT NOT play it back....

Casio Exilim EX-S600 digital camera import and playback issues

When importing the mpeg4 video (.AVI files) from my Casio Exilim EX-S600 digital camera with plug in version 1.1 and iMovie HD 6.0.1 I consistently get an unknown error. I use the HQ setting on the camera. Quicktime will play the movies though sometimes they stutter, if you pause, and then resume it seems to playback better. Strange to say the least. Any tips on how I can edit these clips? And get better playback performance in Quicktime? Thanks in advance!

Buying New Casio Exilim Ebay then what happens to warranty?

If I buy a new phone from ebay which is also being sold on verizon.com, does verizon cover the 1yr warranty on that phone?
I see on verizon.com that they are selling Casio Exilim and I also found a brand new Casio Exilim on ebay. So if I buy this from ebay, do I get 1 yr warranty in case the phone breaks down? Thanks

If the seller selling the phone states that it is under warranty then it is still under warranty. You should ask seller if warranty comes with it. If for any reason the person says no, then no you will not have warranty on the device.

Casio Exilim Photos Not Imported :(

Hi and tnxs for reading.
I have decided to import all my photos in iPhoto instead of referencing them but I had the bad surprise that I cannot import all my AVI clips made with a Casio Exilim Camera. They are read on my quicktime easily... I have even Perian installed, and they can be read in iPhoto if referenced... however cannot be imported...
Any advice??

Open the avi file in Quicktime Player and bring up the Moive Inspector window to see what the format is.
Then do the same with the new file you saved and see what the differences are. If you have any movie clips that do import and run in your library check those also.

How to strip text formatting from text field value ??

suppose there is a date "01/25/2010" date in date field I want to get string "mm/dd/yyyy". Actually I have to pass date format to backend when I call RFC.
Is there any way to get Date format from "Locale" object. I should get date format for local object
I get local object from "UserSessionData" object but how to get Date format from it.
I am not looking for Date value. I am looking for current local date format ("mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy or mon/dd/yyyy) whatever local date format. I could not find example which show how to get date format from "Locale" object.
