HD-H.264 video

Hi all,
I have an FLV file convered t in HD-H.264 video. So can an somebody please let me know which format I must choose at Easy Setup on FCP to edit my file. I've try some but I think I used the wrong one because when I apply effect on it come Unrendred on Canvas. I try to avoid the Render process.
Thank you

If possible, convert the flv file directly to a fcp friendly format like prores 422.  What are your pixel dimensions and frame rate.  Oddball frame sizes and frame rates can also sometimes cause problems in fcp.

  • Momentary gamma shifts in PS-CS6 composed image h.264 video

    Before I finalize a bug report, wonder what others are seeing?
    Having discovered the problem in a more complex scenario, I've narrowed down to a simple set of jpg images placed sequentially in a video group, and exported as an h.264 video from Photoshop PS6. All is on Windows 7 Professional SP1, all software involved completely up-to-date.
    I first noticed the gamma shift using the 'High Quality' preset. It occurs with variations on Vimeo 29.97 and Youtube 29.97 presets. The gamma problem does not occur on HD 720p or 1080p 29.97 presets.
    When I view the resulting video through Quicktime, I see a gamma shift for a moment on the first image, making it look washed out. After another moment, the gamma goes back to normal. On other players such as Windows Media or VLC, no such shift is visible.
    Interestingly, the shift comes at 1 second when exporting to the Vimeo 29.97 preset, or 'High Quality', while at 3 seconds on Youtube 29.97. Similarly, the shift back occurs at 2 seconds, or 6 seconds for Youtube.
    What the gamma shift looks like sounds like the now age-old Apple Quicktime fault on h.264. -- except it occurs only for one or a few seconds, then reverts to proper gamma, instead of continuing..
    With the simple setup of single image (jpg) sequence, it occurs only on the first image. With a more complex scenario, some actual videos included, I've seen it occur on every jpg -- or on some -- in a sequence.
    This is very repeatable here - 100%. Anyone else who's noticed it? I'm on the CS6 trial, and still thinking whether to purchase, or go on the Creative Cloud.
    Regards,
    Clive

    We're seeing a worse issue when exporting in H.264 and playing in QuickTime 10.0 (Mac OS 10.6).  We are using a custom size video to fit a spot on our website (398x498).  When exported and played in QuickTime 10.0 the white inverts throughout the video (back and forth).  The same issue is not seen when viewed in VLC or QuickTime 10.1.
    This is how the video should look:
    And this is how they are appearing:
    But like I said, the issue is very specific to QuickTime 10.0 on Mac 10.6.  VLC, Flash, Chrome, FireFox all play it correctly.

  • H.264 videos that played in Firefox 34 won't play in Firefox 35.0

    We host a ton of h.264 videos in the mp4 container displayed through JW Player. We had zero problems with Firefox 34 and earlier playing these videos, the video is H.264 and the audio is AAC, the whole thing is around 500 kbit/s.
    They play fine on Firefox 34, Chrome and IE but after updating to Firefox 35.0 we get an error: "Error loading media: File could not be played".
    We have found a fix to get them to work in the about:config, switching "media.fragmented-mp4.enabled" to false OR switching "media.fragmented-mp4.exposed" to false will allow our videos to play. Single file mp4's will also begin to download where before we would get a "Video can't be played because the file is corrupt."
    Alternatively for Mac users if they just set media.apple.mp4.enabled to False it also works fine.
    Non h.264 mp4 videos will play fine.
    Here is a playlist that won't play: http://media.vineyardinstitute.org/other/vi_announcement/firefox-test.html
    Here is the single video file: http://media.vineyardinstitute.org/other/vi_announcement/05_kingdom_theology.mp4
    Is there anything I can change on either the playlist or the video files to get this to work? Why would the h.264 files that worked in Firefox 34 NOT work in 35? I will not be able to re-encode all of the videos, it would take me months. Is this a bug with Firefox?
    Also I have tried this in safe mode, tried with every plugin deactivated, I have uninstalled Flash and the videos would not play as well as reinstalling a new version of Flash and a fresh copy of Firefox 35.0
    Any help would be much appreciated, we are currently directing all of our users away from Firefox till we get this resolved.
    Thanks,
    Kyle

    Do you have H.264 codec enabled in the plugins list of Firefox?
    Does this happen in the most recent version of JWplayer?

    In that one there were two errors: needed a higher version of Flash installed and the codec issue. As you mentioned this had been narrowed down to the codec of the mp4 file. And this codec is added with the default cisco h.264 player. [https://gigaom.com/2014/10/14/h-264-support-arrives-in-firefox-thanks-to-cisco-but-h-264-web-videos-still-wont-play/]

  • 80GB won't load 640x480 H.264 videos

    I have converted some DVDs into 640x480 H.264 at about 1000kbps. However, when I try and load them onto my 80GB pod it says that the ipod can't play them. Am I doing something wrong. It is my understanding that they should load and then be converted to 320x240 when I play them on my ipod screen, yet be 640x480 on output. I know this is the general understanding, but does anyone have any genuine hands on first hand experience of this actually happening? Or can anyone enlighten me further?
    Thanks a lot.

  • H.264 video wont play on iphone

    I went to the Apple store this weekend to check out the phone. I went to some video on the internet that I knew was H.264 encoded (for instance the movie at http://www.soothingenvironments.com/pacificrhythmsvideo.html) but it would not play on the phone. It seems to be within spec (h.264 and below 1.5 mb/s). Does anyone know why this wouldnt play or if there is additional specific requirements for video for the phone?

    Yeah I've had a few video podcasts from itunes and even some videos from apple.com not play. I think it has something to do with the scale of the video that has to be with in spec, so does the audio encoding.
    Here is the video spec list from apple.com:

  • Live Streaming H.264 Video on iOS using AIR

    We would like to build an AIR app that plays Streaming H.264 Live/VOD videos that would work through AIR on the iOS platform.
    I've seem some traffic on the forums that RTMP will work to iOS - but additionally heard that video applications that use RTMP streams will be rejected by the Apple App store.
    I have seen that progressive H.264 will work - but that's not streaming or live.
    HLS would work if we use the StageWebView object; however, that provides us little control/monitoring over the video inside of it; and it's not "really" integrated as a video player.
    For OSMF there seems to be a 3rd-Party plugin which will allow OSMF to read HLS streams - but (from what I've heard) is incomplete because it doesn't play adaptive nor is it completely updated for OSMF 1.6.1.
    I would love to be wrong here - but is there currently a way to play a Streamed H.264 Video to iOS that is non-RTMP?
    I've seem little information as to if F4M streamed files played via OSMF will work on iOS.
    Thanks for the info in advance.

  • Does PSE7 support h.264 video?

    I use lots of AVI video in my Photoshop Elements 7 organizer and in slide shows. I'm considering a move to a point-and-shoot camera that shoots HD encoded as h.264. Can PSE7 import and manage these video files?
    Thanks,  Ken

    My digital point-and-shoot camera (Sony DSC-T500) also takes HD H.264 video.  I can import them fine into the organizer for PE7 (as MP4 files).
    The problem for me is, when I play the videos using the organizer's built-in video player, the video is very jumpy, like it is skipping frames.  If I play the same video using QuickTime or Windows Media Player, it plays perfectly.  Does anyone have any ideas on how I could fix this?  I have tried this on both Vista and Windows 7 RC, same result.

  • H.264 Video Streaming Help

    Need help integrading H.264 Video Streaming in Flex. I started looking at this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3796848#3796848.
    It is now out of date and flash player 11 is released (no longer from incubator site). How is the set up different now? Since my project is built on the older SDK, is there any way to do this on Flex SDK 3.5?
    I have already dewnloaded and installed flash player 11 and am using the following code:
                import flash.media.H264VideoStreamSettings;
                import flash.media.VideoStreamSettings;
                import flash.media.H264Level;
                import flash.media.VideoCodec;
                import flash.media.H264Profile;
                nsPublish = new NetStream(nc_publish);
                var h264Settings:H264VideoStreamSettings = new H264VideoStreamSettings();
                h264Settings.setProfileLevel(H264Profile.BASELINE, H264Level.LEVEL_2);
                nsPublish.videoStreamSettings = h264Settings;
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    Make sure you have the new playerglobal.swc also drop this additional compiler arg: -swf-version=13. Need also to target flash player 11.
    I did it with 4.5 works like a charm. If this does not make it work you may need to upgrade. If you encounter errors can you post them ?

  • Can the author please send me an exported version using H.264 video codec

    Seems as thou I am having similar problems as other clients are having with movies. My computer guy asked me to ask you this question in the subject line. I have no idea what this means. I sent him a video, he has sound but no video, and he has tried multiple applications, but the results are the same. No video. So, I am suppose to ask the author to send you an exported version using H.264 video codec???? Please help get this resolved!

    So, you need to re-export it, this time choosing H.264. What software are you using?

  • Mp3 audio channel problems in h.264 video file

    I'm trying to encode an mp4/h.264 video file with an mp3 audio channel.  I'm tried encoding it with both Adobe Media Encoder and ffmpeg (using libmp3lame).  I'm streaming the video files using ffmpeg to stream the file through Red5 as a live stream.  When the Flex AIR clients play the stream (using the Spark VideoDisplay component), I hear a frequent sort of chirping sounding audio artifact.  I've also tried playing these files directly from my harddrive in a simple AIR app using NetStream and the Video component.  When I try this I don't hear any audio at all.  In both tests if I use an FLV (On2 VP6) file with an mp3 channel it sounds fine.  Unfortunately I need to use h.264 video.
    I've tried using AAC audio but am having a different issue with that:  http://forums.adobe.com/message/4096536
    Any ideas why I am seeing this audio artifact problem and how to resolve it?

    Most h.264 should work.
    Have you tried FILE/IMPORT MOVIE and then navigate to the h.264 file?
    If that does not work, but the h.264 will play in QuickTIme PLayer, then you can get MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5 (which is free). Drag the h.264 file into MPEG Streamclip. Then FILE/EXPORT TO QUICKTIME. Choose Apple Intermediate Codec for Compressions. You can use this file in iMovie by clicking FILE/IMPORT MOVIE.

  • 720P 30 H.264 videos stutter when played back on Windows

    720P 30 H.264 videos stutter when played back on Windows
    I have an interesting problem that I am hoping someone can help me with.
    I have several short videos (2-4 minutes) in 1080i HDV that I have edited in FCP. When output to 720P 30 H.264 in Compressor at either 10 or 6 MB they look just drop dead gorgeous when played back on either of my dual processor Macs.
    However when played back on a Windows machine with QuickTime 7, they stutter to the point that playback locks up. This happens on 1.5 GHz to 3.2 GHz P4 class machines with 512 MB to 1 GB of RAM and 64 to 128 MB video cards. On the 3.2 GHz P4, the processor utilization peaks at 100%. The interesting thing is that all of these same Windows machines have no problem playing back 720p 24 trailers at 6 MB.
    Thanks all.

    First a correction. I am using the latest version of FCP – 5.
    Regarding the encoding, I have tried going from native HDV MPEG-2 to H.264 at 720P from 10 to 4 MB at 24, 30 and 29.97. The Mac seems to play everything back very well, but most PCs (the latest IBM T 40 – 43 series laptops) a couple of Dell desk tops (2.6 GHZ with 64 and 128 MB graphic cards) and a 3.2 GHz Shuttle PC with a 128 MB graphic card (that we routinely use to decode four MPEG-4, 4CIF images simultaneously and display on a 42” ED Plasma) choke/stutter to varying degrees with processor utilization hitting 100%.
    So, the real issue here is what is the difference between a 720p trailer that I can download from Apple and what I can output using Compressor 2 at a similar data rate – other than the frame rate?
    And why does the Compressor output stutter on most PCs?

  • How to take advantage of H.264 video streaming of webcam BCC950

    We used flex 4.6 to develop an web app using Logitech webcam of BCC950, We used Graphedit of Directdraw to know BCC950 has pin 0 to support i320,RGB24,and mjpg stream, and pin 3 to support H.264 stream. We also set h264videostreamingsettings in as code to ask for H.264 data directly from the webcam, but from the CPU consuming we can judge flash player only fetch pin 0 uncompressed data instead of H.264 data directly. We need to take advantage of BCC950 H.264 support to get webcam hardware compressed H.264 streaming data to avoid compression by CPU/software. As we know flash does not give programmers choice to define the pin to get data, then what we need to do to make sure we can get H.264 video stream from the webcam directly? thanks. Henry

    ...well I did follow that article on playing an h264/mpeg4
    video in flash. It works well, but how would you add playback
    controls?
    FLVPlayback component only allows you to source an FLV video
    not h264/mpeg4.
    This is probably a simple as3 answer...but I am not
    knowledgeable on as3 to know what code to add.
    Any suggests or direction that I should look would be great.
    In the meantime I am researching actionscript 3 to find and anwer.

  • Go to "menu" when h.264 video ends

    Hi there
    I am working with Director 11.5 on Apple Mac.
    I am looking for some code that will keep my h.264 video sprite playing until it finishes and then go to a marker such as "menu"
    For some reason, all the codes I have tried so far don't work. Is this because I am on Mac or maybe because these codes don't work with h.264 video?

    If you are using the built in MP4 asset, you would compare the sprite's currentTime to its duration.  When the current time reaches the duration, you go to your menu.
    See the docs for that MP4 Asset:
