HD IDT Audio doesn't save my settings

Hi everybody, I have a HP Pavilion DV6-1277LA, is kind of old laptop, but I just upgraded to Windows 10 and it runs flawlessly, but I'm having problems setting up my sound. When I adjust the SRS settings they doesn't stick, for example, I set up SRS TruBass to 60% and if I go to the eq and then go back to the SRS settings, it is again on 0%, also I don't have any eq presets as I used to have in Windows 7. Everything I adjust goes back to its default values, hope somebody can help with this and thanks in advance!

I have the same problem. Any solutions yet?

  • Firefox doesn't save the settings

As the question might say this version of Firefox (5.0.1) doesn't save the settings u do to it...For example my problem is with the toolbar and the buttons i add to it...i have tried to customize it as i previously had it in the earlier versions of firefox but it doesn't save them...i need to customize them from the beginning whenever i close and open firefox...even when it updates the add-on's and restarts it still needs to be customized...i have also checked many forums and apparently i am not the one having the same problem...some also can't save the bookmarks but that is not my case...i have recently downloaded a Premuimplay Codec-c add on and also a Facemoods and maybe ththose interfere with firefox even though i doubt it
The addon's that i definitely wanna keep on the toolbar are IMTranslator,WOT,Read It Later,Save-To-Read,ADBlock Plus and also the Home button never stays in the place i move him when i customize the toolbar

PS:(some add-ons don't work with firefox 5.0.1 but i guess thats the developers problems right?

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.<br />
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default <b>about:home</b> Home page.
    Another possibility is to use:

  • Synaptics touchpad doesn't save scroll settings after Windows 10 upgrade

Since the Windows 10 upgrade (upgraded from 7), the Synaptics Touchpad does not save scroll settings. Every time I shut down and restart the machine the next day, I have to go into settings to re-enable touchpad scrolling. It's always unchecked on restart. Please advise on how to fix this!

My solution, copied from one of many threads regarding this problem - You have Synaptics Port Touchpad driver installed via Windows Update. Here's is a work around until a fully Win10 compatible driver is issued. Win+X/ Device Manager/ Mice and other pointing devices/ Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad. R click/ Update Driver Software/ Browse my computer for driver software / Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. Select the top or latest version of Synaptics PS/2 Port Compatible Touchpad Version 19.0.12.95 (7/15/2015) / Next and driver will install automatically. Reboot to finish install. Go to Settings/ Mouse Properties/ Synaptics Device Settings to access Touchpad settings, adjust to your liking/ Apply/ OK. Advise to tick 'Static tray icon in taskbar' for easy access to the settings tab until you're completely happy. This 19.0.12.95 is the latest one on the HP site for my model (your # may vary) and it installs 2 versions. The one Windows Update uses is the same date Port Touchpad version but the 'Compatible' one is installed at the same time. You can tell the difference immediately because it allows you to create a profile. The old 8.1 version did not and neither does the 'Compatible' one. The touchpad setting screens look the same as before (you'll notice the new one looks different and 3 finger press opens Cortana). Why do I consider this a workaround ? Because the 3-finger press app setting, one finger EdgeMotion and demo vids do not work. But at least you can set the scrolling, pinch zoom, speed and sensitivity to your liking and if you reboot, you'll see the system tray icon and your preferences have stuck. Hope this helps somebody !

  • Merging R3D and Audio Doesn't Allow Source Settings Change

Found a major issue in Premiere Pro CC that has put us behind a few days:
If you select a .Wav audio file and then a red media r3d clip and merge clips, the merged file LOSES the ability to alter source settings, even if unlinked in the sequence.
If you select the r3d clip file FIRST and THEN the .wav file and merge clips, the merged file works just fine, and source settings can be adjusted.
I wish I knew that before merging hundreds of clips.
Can you fix this one, Adobe?

All the files I am merging are already WAV files, so I don't think that is a workaround.  Although it sounds like it seems to be working for you at the moment.  I worked with a support guy and tried ever conceivable troubleshooting option and we both came to the conclusion that it has nothing to do with the project file, etc. and it is definitely a bug in the software itself.  The question is, what is causing it?  Here are a few things I noticed:
    1. I have a WAV file and R3D file that was merged in my MAIN project, which I cannot access Source Settings on.  (about 3/4 of my merged files allow me to access the Source Settings)
    2. I tried taking these 2 original files (WAV and R3D) into a  new project.  I merged the files. I could not access the Source Settings on the merged file.  This was a brand new project. (I also tried all of this after removing all cache, temp, etc. files that Adobe has you clear out.  Still no luck)
    3. You would think that points to the files themselves.  However, then I went back to my MAIN project.  I still could not access the Source Settings on the originally merged file, but...I imported the WAV and R3D file again and merged them again.  This time I could access the Source Settings on the newly merged file, but still not the original.
This is just a few of the tests, but this doesn't point to a Project File issue or an individual file issue.  It truly seems to be a random issue that is most likely linked to the program itself.
This is a major issue for those of us working at this level.  Please address this issue immediately, Adobe.  Hopefully it is something that can be fixed and will not force us to re-merge files.  Thanks!
I'm still waiting for a response from Adobe as it was supposedly escalated.

  • ITunes syncing doesn't save all settings

Not sure if this belongs in the developer forums, but I couldn't find a good place for this question over there.
Basically, I'm running the iOS 5 beta on both my iPhone 4 (GSM) and my iPad 2 (Wi-Fi). I sync pretty regularly, and even use the iCloud backups, which seem to be working pretty well.
However, I run into this major issue each time I have to restore the devices when updating (that is, when OTA updates don't work...which happens from time to time). I sync RIGHT before I restore, to hopefully ensure that everything is preserved, but when I finish the restore, iTunes seems to forget all my settings. It attempts to sync apps that were either previously removed from my device, or apps that were never on it to begin with (this happens moreso on my iPad wherein it seems to think that a few of my iPhone apps belong on it, when they were never on my iPad to begin with).
My folders are never preserved, random settings are undone, and twice its lost a few days worth of photos. It doesn't even back up app settings. I have several games where weeks upon weeks worth of progress have been lost.
I don't understand what's going on. It's as if there's no point to syncing at all because nothing gets backed up. Has anyone else run into this problem? I'm using the latest betas for iTunes and iOS, and have been part of the dev program since iOS 5 beta 3.
I know it's beta software, and that "bugs may happen", but this seems like a larger iTunes syncing issue whereby it simply refuses to do what it claims to do.

Well repairing permissions through disk utility didn't work.
In the end I converted the file to AAC from within iTunes and I was then able to edit & save info field again. I know this is not a fix but it is a usable work-around.

  • CS5 Brushes Palette doesn't save brush settings when browsing

Okay, this is a weird one.
When I open the Brush Palette (F5), it shows me the settigns for the current brush (nothing new here) but when I choose another brush (from the Brush Palette NOT from the menu at the top of the screen), it has the same settings and the same checkboxes (Textures, Dual Brush etc.) enabled as the previous one. Even if the second brush is not supposed to have them enabled. What is causing this? Please help.
I have the latest updates and the lates Wacom drivers installed.

Yeah, that was the problem. I didn't notice that I'm changing the tip. How silly of me.
    Thank you very much!
    One more little question.
When I click with the mouse to change the brush from the arrow at the top of the screen it isn't showing the pressure sensitivity on the stroke thumnails of the brushes for the whole session. However, when I click with the tablet it's showing them (again, for the whole session).
Is it how Photoshop works or is it some issue with the Wacom drivers? The versions before CS4 doesn't have this "issue".

None of my settings save, such as custom bins and window display settings.  Also, the "open recent item" list does not populate.  I try to upload my sync settings and still no luck.  I have an adobe account and my subscription is "Creative Cloud for teams"

  • Firefox opens in offline mode and doesn't save my settings

When I start the internet, it always starts in "work offline" mode. So I have to un-check the work offline button and refresh the pages. Also, my customized toolbar settings are not saved. I add the tab group button and it isn't on the toolbar when I open firefox.

Try to create a new Boolean pref with the name network.manage-offline-status and set the value to false.
Right-click on the about:config page to open the right-click context menu and use "New > Boolean" to create a new Boolean pref.
    Name: network.manage-offline-status
    Value: false
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />

  • [SOLVED] kgpg doesn't save settings

    Hi,
I've a problem with kgpg: It just doesn't save my settings. Everything that I change (e.g. setting a default key or a key which should always be used for encryption) gets lost when I restart kgpg.
If I start kgpg in a terminal and change something I get the following message:
    kgpg(14795)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
That's it. I just found one config file in
    ~/.kde4/share/config/kgpgrc
And I'm the owner of this file and have full read and write access to it.
Does anybody else have this problem or knows how to fix it?

    So small update:
I signed a bug report https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=275644 and the KDE team could help me, in fact the file "~/.gnupg/gpg.conf" did not exist here on this machine, I created a blank one and now kgpg can use it to write the config to it and everything works fine.

  • Logic doesn't save MX4's plug-in settings :-(

Anyone working with the MOTU MX4 software instrument? I had an amazing session going today, and when I saved and closed the project, Logic didn't save any of the plug-in's preset information. Each instance of the plug came up in the default patch. DOH!
Today was the first time i've used MX4 in Logic... I love the plug, but I won't be able to use it if it won't retain the settings.
anyone else using this plug problem free????

can you not just save your settings in the MX4 instances themselves? then we you reload your song they should come up as saved, or at least you'll be able to reselect them. not ideal but it should work for the time being.
I'd contact MOTU support, you can't be the first person that has run into this problem.. I'm sure most people use MX4 with DP, but if MOTU try to blame logic for this behaviour I wouldn't accept that as an answer. they may have better ideas for a workaround, and in any case you should be demanding a fix. if they are selling an AU plug in that will work in more hosts than just DP, then they should be making an effort to implement these kind of basic functions so they work properly across a variety of different hosts.

  • No sound, probably due to IDT Audio Codec

There i s no sound at my laptop. The loudspeakers are on, Windows says they are working fine. All the volumes are high, sound is not muted etc. But I have no sound anywhere. I uninstalled the drivers on IDT Audio Codec, reset the values in my bios to their original ones (if they even weren't to start with). I have been running the audioplayback diagnosis from windows. Moved back to old version of my registry but nothing seems to work.
I went through this forum and did what some of the people adviced but still it is not functioning. Although windows says that IDT Audio Codec is working fine, I get an errormessage Not able to play test tone (or that is the translation from Dutch). Also Windows Media player doesn't work and lands me on the page with error C00D11B1. Also playing a DVD doesn't work. And when trying to update the IDT Audio Codec driver, it says it is up-to-date. Also put all the sound settings (like sound quality to standard settings).
I think that I removed the driver when cleaning up with CCleaner so that is probably the reason. Also after checking with this forum I launched two driverpackages SP59291 and SP6355 but unfortunately that they didn't work and they probably not the right version for my setup. Alhtough the letter of the two did bring back windows system signals during start-up etc.  The current version of the driver is 6.10.6329.0. I checked the HP-website to find the specific version for my laptop but couldn't find it, anyone any idea what I could do? Many thanks!

  • HP Pavilion dv6 - IDT audio not working?

    Hi there,
My audio doesn't seem to be working, though it does appear on my sounds menu. I've tried update drivers as well as roll back. It was working a few days ago until a driver update recently.
    Help would be much appreciated!
    This question was solved.

    @movait89,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58001-58500/sp58226.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.
If you still have no audio, open windows Control Panel, open Administrative Tools and open Services.  Check that the following services are all showing as Status= Started and Start-up Type= Automatic
    Audio Service
    Multimedia Class Scheduler
    Windows Audio
    Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
If you need to make a change to any of the above, just right click the service and select Properties, then in the dropdown box next to 'Start-up type',  select Automatic and click Apply to save the change.  Then click the Start button.

  • App-V 5.0 doesn't save program changes

    Hi
We use App-V in a VDI non-persistent environment
    App-V version is 5.0 SP2 HF4
we noticed that App-V programs run ok and users can use and make changes on the packages
including writing files in special locations like C:\ProgramData, C:\Program Files
the weird thing we just noticed is that changes are not saved as users logoff and logon again
from what I know the file changes should be saved in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\App-V but I'm not sure where to look them for even before I logoff
we have 2 environments. one with Citrix UPM that fully syncs %APPDATA% on logoff\logon and one where %APPDATA% is set to a network location with folder redirection.
%LOCALAPPDATA% is not handled at all on non of the environments
both of the environments end up with the same result. changes are gone after logoff :/
I also remember that there's no setting in the AppV Client Configuration that controls where the changes will be saved.
we also use App-V 4.6 SxS but there we set the location of the .pkg file to a network share and everything works well there
any ideas what we might didn't setup properly ?
    this problem is pretty major.
    Tamir Levy

first of all I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only one who saw this problem!
there is a documentation of Citrix UPM and App-V 5.0 support that guide to exclude the
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\AppV. I didn't talk to anyone from Citrix about it but it doesn't make any sense as this folder holds unique user settings!
I'm still shocked I am almost the only one that complain about it.
as I said before, we have over 1000 apps. I can try to find a solution for a few percents of the applications but I will always have apps that work from C:\App and save their settings to C:\App which will cause the settings to be saved on %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\AppV
on my opinion, this is one big problem!
think about it. standard PC users can use App-V applications without even care where the package saves the settings, as the %LOCALAPPDATA% stays there all the time
while VDI users don't have any built in solution how to use those packages...
I would expect to be able to change the setting for the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\AppV\Client\VFS folder to be on a network share. same as it was in App-V 4.6 which unfortunately still more compatible for most of my application.
The other option is to combine 3rd party apps like App-V
Remediation that will copy the %LOCALAPPDATA% content to a roamed location back and forth. disgusting.... :/
