HD m2v render files come out speed up

Greetings. I've been recently working on an HD project in final cut. Everything was going fine until it came time to export. I'm working with 720p footage shot at 23.98 fps and edited in a 23.98 fps timeline.
When I export the video to an m2v file at standard definition, it exports just fine and my final video comes out at 24 fps like I need it. However, making no other adjustments, when you change the image size to 720p for an HD render, it comes out at 59.97 frames per second. I've tried using all the default settings in compressor, as well as switching the frame rate to automatic (even tried it at 59.97 fps to see what would happen) and obviously I've tried setting the frame rate to 23.98 fps.
Regular definition comes out fine everytime and 720p always comes out at 59.97 fps, regarldess of the frame rate settings. I'd like to figure out what's going on but bottom line is I need an HD m2v file of this film at 24 fps!
Something note worthy is that I can export to an H.264 HD .mov file with no issue; my client unfortunately needs a final HD render in m2v format.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm having this same problem. 90 minute project, DVCPRO HD 1080.
I rendered it once, took all night, then was able to export to mpeg2 for a dvd pretty quick. Few days later I went to export to another file format, but the renders were gone- back to red!

  • WHEN I SCAN TO PDF THE FILE COMES OUT HUGE!!

    HELLO EVERYONE!   WHENEVER I SCAN SOME DOCUMENTS INTO A PDF FILE, IT COMES OUT HUGE!  AROUND 25MB.  I WENT TO KINKOS AND HAD THE SAME FILE SCANNED AND IT WAS AROUND 110KB.
    IS THIS A PROBLEM WITH MY SCANNER? I CURRENTLY USE A DELL 962 ALL-IN-ONE.
    ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

    This has nothing to do with Adobe Reader. It has to do with your scanner's settings. They are scanning to fewer colors, lower resolution and even perhaps to a different type of image. Please consult the maker of your scanning software.

  • PSD (photoshop) file comes out stretched in video

    Hi everyone,
    I have a video made from my canon hv20, resolution is 1440 x 1080. At the end I want to put credits and a logo (2 separate psd files) but it always comes out a little stretched. I've tried a psd file with these resolutions:
    1440 x 1080
    1024 x 768
    800 x 600
    Any idea why it comes out a little stretched?

  • PP render files come unrendered after program closes

    I've stumbled across some posts on this before.  I'm working on a Mac Retina Pro.  Every time I close PP and go back in my render files are gone.  I'm forced to re-render everything.  Is this still actually an on-going problem?  I find it hard to believe that people are still living with this.  Please tell me I'm wrong.

    As far as I know, it is still an issue for some.  I'm not aware of any known cause or solution, other than that listed below.

  • Output to Printer or PDF File Comes Out Small, Like Zoomed Out

    I'm trying to print a 60 page family cookbook with text and pictures (17 mb, using the blank template). Everything looks fine on the screen as measured by the rulers, except for a large suspicious grey strip outside of the horizontally ruled area, along the left side of each page, inbetween the page and the left ruler (in 2-up view, there is a grey strip on the right side of the right hand page as well). In any files with these strips, the output to Print Preview, or the printer, or to PDF files is zoomed out so that the print area is about 70% of the original. I have some early versions of the files that look normal on the screen and which Pages outputs fine. In other words, there appears to be something wrong with these particular files. What?
    I thought that since I had originally placed some objects that stuck outside of the margins that may have caused this change, but everything now seems to be within the page margins. The scale is set to 100%. I can't duplicate the problem, and I can't fix it.
    Will the recipes get out on time?

  • SVG-converted Ai file comes out crappy.

    So I'm new to saving an Ai file to SVG formats and I was wondering why the conversion seems to make the image crappier. I've removed all grouped objects and is working on just one layer now. All are ungrouped except for the ones with clipping masks. Need to send this to my boss soon. What is causing the downgrade of quality?
    If you look closely at the svg file, the grass, house, and fences, even the hood and hands are seemed to be detaching from each other. That happens everytime I try to convert the AI to SVG. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

    The decimal places was in the highest number. I don't know if it's the answer but when I rasterized the whole thing, it didn't detach anymore.

  • Soundtrack studio 2:  Why do MP3 exports come out blank?

    Hi, any help would be great. When I export a soundtrack Studio 2 file to MP3 (or anything else) the file comes out the correct time and file type but there is no audio. I am trying to convert a composition to mp3 so I can demo it on my iPod and, even when I send the file directly to iTunes the MP3 plays ad 5 minutes of dead air. Any ideas? I obviously don't want to recreate this whole thing in Garage Band.
    Thanks!

    I also had the Use Maximum Render Quality box checked in my export settings
    This should carry over to the AME when you send it to the queue, but you should double-check in the AME.
    So I guess the difference is in the GPU rendering vs software rendering?
    In theory, software MPE with MRQ and Max Bit Depth enabled should produce (nearly) identical results to hardware MPE.
    I had originally understood that this is for rendering previews, but looks like it's also used during final exports?
    For exporting, video frames have to be rendered before they can be transcoded to the final format/codec.  So hardware MPE helps rendering previews, but it also helps the rendering step of the export process.
    That's unfortunate that AME does not utilize the GPU as well. What is the reason for excluding this feature?
    That's a question only an Adobe engineer can answer!  NB: I know for sure that the scaling-using-software-MPE limitation in the AME applied to CS5 and CS5.5.  It may be fixed in CS6, or it may not.  I don't have time to properly research that right now.
    I don't really understand how something as simple as rendering a scaled JPEG image turns out looking bad, while AME can render full-on After Effects comps...???
    If differences in scaling methods don't apply here, there may be system issues or a software bug at work.

  • Hi. I'm using illustrator cs6 on pc. I've made a scientific figure for a paper and now I'm trying to export as a png or save for microsoft office. Despite my figure being in the middle of my artboard, it always comes out bottom left in the png file or jpg

    Hi. I'm using illustrator cs6 on pc. I've made a scientific figure for a paper and now I'm trying to export as a png or save for microsoft office. Despite my figure being in the middle of my artboard, it always comes out bottom left in the png file or jpg. Must be making a school boy error! Please help!

    In similar cases, my solution is to "select all" then "deselect" only the artwork I want to keep and "delete". If I'm curious I may "cut" then "paste" to see what shows up in the center of the screen. it is usually some stray point. or other element out direct sight.

  • Using System::StartTime in variable for external file name comes out incorrect sometimes

    Hi All,
    I have an interesting dilemma.  I'm using SQL Server 2005 with Visual Studios 2005 (9.00.4035.00).
    I'm writing records from my database table out to an external flat file, nothing fancy other than in the naming of the file being dynamic and using system time.  So I have a couple of variables set:
    CR_Dir = \\host\directory\
    CR_Outfile = "AP_" +  (DT_WSTR, 4)  YEAR( @[System::StartTime] ) + RIGHT("0" + (DT_WSTR, 2) MONTH(@[System::StartTime] ),2) + RIGHT("0" + (DT_WSTR,2) DAY( @[System::StartTime] ),2) + RIGHT("0"
    + (DT_WSTR,2) DATEPART("Hh", @[System::StartTime] ), 2) + RIGHT("0" + (DT_WSTR,2) DATEPART("mi", @[System::StartTime] ),2) + RIGHT("0" + (DT_WSTR,2) DATEPART("ss", @[System::StartTime] ),2)
    + "_chref"
    And then in my Connection Manager properties I have an expression that brings them all together with a file extension:
    @[User::CR_Dir] +  @[User::CR_Outfile] + ".ctl"
    So what I should get for example is something like AP_20140309214502_chref.ctl  (if the job was run on 03/09/2014 @ 9:45pm) When executed properly.  I do this for two flat files one with an extension of .txt and the other with .ctl.
    These steps are working fine the majority of the time.
    However, my problem is that occasionally, the portion of the filename that contains the datetime stamp is completely incorrect for one of the two files that are created during the same time frame.  And I'm not talking about a few seconds or even a minute
    or two, the date is off by weeks.  Here's an example:
    AP_20140309214502_chref.txt
    AP_20140213152253_chref.ctl
    This has happened twice since starting to run this job over the past four months, once on 12/15/2013 and again 03/09/2014.  This job is run every night at 9:45pm, and all the other days that this job runs the two filenames come out perfectly.
    So I'm leaning towards something in the system that may be corrupting my variable every once in a while?  But because it happens intermittently how can I verify this?  Or is there a better way to perform what I'm trying to do that would be more accurate
    and consistent?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sawyer

    Hi All,
    I haven't found a solution to this issue.  I'm not actually able to reproduce it at will, so it's hard to troubleshoot.  What I've decided to do is rewrite my variable expression and make one system call for date and time and place it into
    a variable and then use the variable to build the file name.  Also I changed from using the System::Startime to using the GFETDATE() function (Don't know if this helps but it was easier to use in my substring when I parsed out the different time elements:
    v_DATETIME   STRING   SUBSTRING((DT_STR,30, 1252)GETDATE(), 1, 19)
    CR_Outfile      STRING   "AP_" + SUBSTRING(@[User::v_DateTime],1 ,4 ) + SUBSTRING(@[User::v_DateTime],6 ,2) + SUBSTRING(@[User::v_DateTime],9 ,2) + SUBSTRING(@[User::v_DateTime],12, 2) + (@[User::v_DateTime],15 ,2) + SUBSTRING(@[User::v_DateTime],18,2)
    + "_chref"
    I don't want to leave this thread as unanswered for too long so I'll give it another day or two and then close it.  I'll report back in a few months to let you all know if this problem has reoccurred or not.
    Thanks for the assistance.

  • Why can't I open PDF files on my iMac. I installed Adobe Reader and accepted the end user license, as instructed then quit the application and relaunched it and I still can't view the PDF document. The screen comes out black. Please advice. Thanks

    Why can I view PDF files from the Web on my iMac even after I installed Adobe Reader and accepted the end user license agreement.I then quit the application relaunched it, as instructed snd still the PDF document comes out blank or black. Please advice. Thanks
    Chef Rey

    Are you saying that Adobe Reader or Preview can't read PDF file that you download? Or, are you saying that you can't display PDF files in your Safari broweer? If the latter, then delete any AdobePDFViewer plugins you find in /Library/Internet Plug-ins/ and restart. That should allow Safari to display PDFs in its window. BTW, that's the worst place to view them. Better to download them and use Adobe Reader or Preview.

  • Export Quicktime movie in FCP comes out as a Final Cut Pro Movie File

    Does anyone know why when I Export Quicktime movie in FCP it comes out as a Final Cut Pro Movie File? I can still play it in Quicktime and it's possible to set the Quicktime Player as the default software, but it still says in my finder window that it is a Final Cut Pro Movie File.
    Does anyone know if there are any settings for the clip to come out as a Quicktime Movie instead? Thank you!

    +"The studio apps "brand" their exports. Actually kind of useful...+
    In the words of the venerable Forest Gump, "Useful is as useful does" ... or something like that.
    I actually use similar "icon" techniques in other areas of my workflow. But most of the time I just modify the file title for quick ID - I also use dashes & underscores to get things to stand out and stay at the top of lists etc.
    But QT is my Go-To App for quick media reference and I have it set up to play almost all types off media when double clicked. I started doing it years ago when iTunes opened up every time I wanted to check a few seconds of an mp3 file.
    I guess the best solution would have been for Apple to leave the "export FinalCut movie" option intact and simply add in an "export Quicktime movie" option as well. Or maybe add another drop down option for the tagging (branding).
    At least we would have been able to make the workflow choices in-the-box rather than doing it with the OS.
    Andy Neil,
    I think using the OS is the better option rather than re-compressing your movie just so you can double click into QT.

  • Upload a pdf file,fill it in, print it,it comes out blank

    Go to a pdf irs file complete it preview it all info correct
    Print it, it comes out as a blank form none of the info input is on the form

    If you just want to print a copy for your records, fill out the form like you want it, hit Print but at the dialog box don't actually select Print but instead Save as PDF:
    Save it to your Desktop or somewhere, open that file and then print.

  • Mpg files put into final cut pro 6 come out blurry in Quicktime export.

    I'm a noob. I'm trying to make a compilation of mpg files. My students created animations in Blender. I want to put a video together to showcase their talents.
    Everything I've tried with FCP 6 and mgs come out blurry.
    Mpg Dimensions are 640 x 480. Codecs: MPEG2 Muxed
    Should I be working in 720x480?
    Thanks

    You can't really use MPEG 2 files in Final Cut Pro -it's not an editing codec.
    A list of compatible codecs can be found in FCP's Easy Setup menu.
    Is MPEG 2 the only export option from Blender? I'm am not familiar with the product.

  • Saving file, but jpg and gif comes out garbled

    Would someone please help me? I'm at my wit's end here. I'm writing a program that reads a file and saves it, but it needs to read a maximum of 512 bytes before it starts to write. It needs to work with both text files and images.
    - It works fine with text files.
    - It works fine with bmp images.
    - It works fine with jpg and gif images under 512 bytes.
    - With a jpg or gif over 512 bytes, it comes out all garbled, but the same file size as the original.
    One thing is really confoozling me. When the image comes out garbled, I tried changing the files for both the original and the copy into text files by changing the file extension to .txt. Both the text files were identical! So if the data is identical, why is the copy not showing the same image as the original?
    import java.io.*;
         public class SaveFile{

              public static final String LIBRARY = "C:\\";
              static int totalRead = 0;  //Total number of bytes in buffer (Max BUFSIZE).
              static int fileSize = 0;  //Size of whole file.
                  static String fileName = "";  //Name of file.
                 static char[] data = new char[BUFSIZE];  //The data in the file.
              public static void main(String[] args){
                            //Bytes already read by the buffer.
                      int charsRead = BUFSIZE;
                          //Takes name of file from main argument.
                         for(int i=0; i < args.length; i++)
                             fileName = fileName + args;
    //Name of file including directory.
              String fetchFile = LIBRARY + fileName;
              File file1 = new File(fetchFile);
              * Reads a string from the file to data (char array).
                   BufferedReader reader =
    new BufferedReader(new FileReader(file1), BUFSIZE);
                   BufferedWriter writer =
    new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(fileName));
                   //Will continue as long as buffer is full.
                   while (charsRead == BUFSIZE){
                        charsRead = reader.read(data, 0, BUFSIZE);
                        if (charsRead != -1) {
                             totalRead = charsRead;
                             write(writer);
                             fileSize = fileSize + totalRead;
                   reader.close();
                   writer.close();
              System.out.println((fileSize) + " bytes read and saved as " + fileName);
         * Writes data to a new file.
         public static void write(BufferedWriter writer) {
                   for (int j = 0; j < totalRead; j++) {
                        writer.write(data[j]);
    I stripped away the directory selection and error handling to make it simpler.
