HD Movies BUYING ON IPAD (EXPERIENCED USERS ONLY) (US iTunes)

Hello, I'm considering to buy an iPad.
However, I see that many SD-ONLY movies on iTunes, has these words "Also Available in HD on iPad and Apple TV". For example, the Harry Potter Series, PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT IT in case you misunderstand my description. And the question is,
1. IS IT ONLY FOR RENTING OR ALSO FOR BUYING???
2. AND IF IT'S FOR BUYING, IS IT POSSIBLE TO TRANSFER IT BACK TO MY COMPUTER??? Or is it stuck in the iPad?
*I ONLY want EXPERIENCED IPAD users using the US iTunes Store, if you're only GUESSING or not in the US, please don't answer my question. Thanks a lot!

When you use the iPad to view movies you might wish to purchase in iTunes
All movies will show up as HD version with the option to preview/purchase in SD. If you see any movie that does not show HD (only has the option to "preview" with NO button that shows HD with SD right beside it) then that means that it is only available in SD. From what I have seen Half Blood Prince and the newest movie (which is not on iTunes at the moment but is scheduled for release soon) are the only H.P. movies that are not HD (the newest (Deathly Hollows, I am sure will be)
When you use ANY I-Device and make a purchase, when you sync your device to your computer, it will automatically be moved to the computer and you will have the option to view it on computer or any I-Device (at the same time if you choose) You will not be able to transfer to computer if you purchase (rent) on I-Device. If you purchase (rent) on computer you can transfer to I-Device but it will no longer be available on computer.
Currently it seems that the H.P. movies are only for rent AT THIS MOMENT (all but the newest one which is available for pre-order) I am sure that will change (it's been known to happen. I have purchased 4 out of 6 H.P. movies from iTunes ( the other 2 I have on dvd) iTunes will occasionally switch the buy or rent option and I am guessing they are doing this because there is a new movie scheduled for release (this is known to happen) sometimes they will only be able to buy and not rent.
In the future if you would like a response from someone, I advise you not to use CAPS, lots of the users of this forum consider it rude and take it as you are yelling (CAPS in email is known as yelling) Many don't like to/won't provide help when they feel the person asking the question is being rude or may be unappreciative. This forum is full of a knowledge for very experienced people. Be nice and you will be told whatever you ask. You will love the iPad if you decide to purchase.

Ipad mini users only. Did the ios 7 upgrade diminish the camera and picture quality?

I recently upgraded my ipad mini from ios 6 to ios 7 and I still trying to get used to the new interface. However my confidence was shaken when i stumbled upon several internet posts claiming a diminishing in the quality of the pictures taken with the ipad mini especially in outside conditions. My plans to get buy an ipad with ios 6 on it were about to get scrapped but the post and complains i read online are making me reconsider them again. I would appreciate if a fellow ipad mini user share his or her upgrading experience with me so i can make an intelligent decision. Please i would truly appreciate non partial, thoughtful opinions, not fan boy/girl type of advice. Thanks

I haven't noticed any deterioration on ipad mini's at all. In fact i think it's almost seems better on ios 7 due to software enhancements.
In all fairness though, why are you using an ipad mini for taking photos.
Its not bad camera it's just there are much better out there.

No. Photo stream only streams photos, not videos. To transfer videos between your devices you can either import them to iTunes and sync them, or (more conveniently) use an app like PhotoSync or Bump.

I can call out but all incoming calls are going directly to VM with no signal that I missed a call or have VM. I can send/receive text messages from other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users, I am assuming this is really "iMessage." Is it apple software?

I have spent hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T. I went thought reset, on/off, etc, etc with both companies to no avail. Each company pointed fingers at the other....as being the source of the problem.

I assume now - iMessage kicked in and I could text (send/receive) other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users ONLY. ....yes, I could still (send) text messages to my husband's blackberry (he received my messages fine) but my phone would NOT receive his text respones.
Finally, I googled the problem and found this community where other people have had the exact same problems! One person said he "turned off 3 G" which was the solution for him....so I did the same and VIOLA! My problem solved! Nevermind the fact that I pay for 3G and cannot use it....so here's my question, if 3G is the problem on my phone is this an APPLE issue or a NETWORK problem? Do I purchase a new phone and slip in my same SIM card and hope the same does not occur or do I get a whole new SIM card and phone? What is the long term resolution to this problem?
I am happy however to find that my problem is NOT an isolated incident and wish Apple or AT&T had told me this is not so uncommon because I thought (based on the baffled response from Apple) that this has never occurred before. Where is Steve Jobs when we need him?

You only need a cellular plan on the wifi + cellular model, and then only if you want to use 3G on the iPad. You don't need a plan for the wifi only iPad (wifi-only iPads don't have cellular capability), and if you get the 3G version then you only need to sign up and activate a cellular plan when you need it - some people get the 3G version as it has a built-in GPS chip (which the wifi-only model doesn't have it), and they never activate a 3G service on it.
If you are getting an iPhone then you could see if your carrier supports the personal hotspot function, in which case you could use that to share the iPhone's internet connection to a wifi-only iPad (the iPad will see it as a wifi network).

I have a WiFi only iPad1. I use a Verizon MIFI 2200 hotspot device that is about the size of a larger, thicker credit card. It easily fits into a shirt pocket. It does not connect to the iPad by any cable whatsoever. It is a free standing device. You can connect up to five devices at a time with the 2200. However, like any cell phone, 3G, wireless connection like this, in some areas the reception/connection is great - in other places - not so much. Sort of the anti - "can you hear me now?"

It's not obsolete as much as the first gen simply lacks the power to run the newer operating systems. IT doesn't have enough RAM. If someone managed to hack it to get iOS 6 or 7 on there they'd just have a slow, boggy and unresponsive device. (think putting windows 7 on an old laptop.
Unfortunately software moves faster than hardware. Every thing goes obsolete. I've had my ipad 2 for two and a half years now and I know it only has so much longer left to it too. Just the 'joys' of advancing technology.

IPad started saying no sim a week after warranty expired, new sim doesn't work. Apple store said nothing they can do I have to buy new iPad. Surely this cannot be true, it's only a year old on a 2 yr 3G contract please please help

Hi Debbie, it was a nightmare tried 3 new sim cards non worked. Apple refused to help as it was 10 days out of warranty and i hadnt extended the warranty I hunted Internet and asked couple of American techie guys from my geeks . It seemed to be issue with latest iOS upgrade and my problem happened after I upgraded to its 5.1.1 eventually I had to sit in Apple store with printout of all other affected users. It seemed Americans had been offered new iPads and problem was being acknowledged but not here. Although network providers said they had a lot of customers with same issue. I did get new iPad after long battle and had to pay for extended warranty. Good luck

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

You can try a rest:
Reset iPad: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- If that does work, contact iTunes and request a redownload. You can ask for a refund though.
