Hello there, I can't see the hd on my desktop any more - why, and what do I do to get it back onto the right top

Finder preferences > General > Show these items on the desktop. Check the boxes for each item you want shown there.

Today I watched a YouTube video on how to get rid of under eye darkness in Photoshop (I use CC). It worked beautifully! So easy. I opened another photo to do the same thing, left my computer for a couple hours, came back, and the Curves symbol disappeared-the half colored in, half not circle. I needed to click it in order to achieve my earlier results. It was replaced with a Curves icon as shown under the Adjustments. I was desperate for an answer to this mystery - I can't find the right help anywhere. Ugh. Got anything?

SMS. Deggie, had them check that. After a lengthy discussion with Senior Tech advisor, it appears it is iMessage/Face Time server (they are the same) issue, which will strong arm those into purchasing Data if they use iMessage over multiple devices, as the server registers the phone number associated with apple ID. I finally figured it out. I had the parental controls restricting videos on my son's ipod. Once I changed the restrictions, the videos appeared.

Fill out a customer service request, they will respond. I had a problem with my account and Apple was very helpful.
BTW... the store is still down.

To use images from the media browser, you must generate previews of the images first. It sounds like the "automatically generate previews for every new project" is turned off under Aperture >Preferences>Previews. To generate a preview for a photo to use in the media browser, right click it and select "update preview". The quality of the preview photo is determined by the settings in the Previews tab found under the Aperture>Preferences menu.

What application were you syncing your notes with, one of the email providers? If so, check your inbox for the notes.

By reinstalling do you mean that you deleted the app and redownloaded it ? Deleting an app will remove the app and its contents. Do you have copies of the PDFs in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library so that you can sync them back ?

By the "restore iTunes symbol" do you mean a USB cable and the iTunes symbol? If so the device is in Recovery Mode and the device has already been erased and it needs to be Restored using iTunes. If your Dad had a backup you can Restore from backup after the iPhone is up and running. Follow the link for instructions > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

Download RecBoot and see if that will kick it into recovery mode, so your computer sees it and you can do a restore.
Basic troubleshooting steps.

The space to write in the http/www..... just disappeared.
Ok... try this.
From your Safari menu bar (top of your screen) click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
Turn that off, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, click View from your Safari menu bar then click Show Toolbar
You may have hit Option + Command + T on your keyboard by accident.
