HD videos don´t run smooth

I am very disappointed to see that HD videos don´t run smooth.
Size is 1280x544 so I expect it to run OK but it´s not the case: it freezes for a second every now and then. Maybe is it the bit rate that is too high. Then what would be the limit?

HD video plays very smooth on mine. I can even play a full 1080p video very smoothly. It really depends on the codec of the video. For example, any 1080p video and trailers downloaded from sony's playstation network run great without and choppy frame, lag, or problems.

I have been using Premiere Elements 7 to edit short videos for a couple years now with my standard definition camcorder. I recently bought an HD camcorder. It is impossible to edit these videos in the timeline as they don't run smoothly at all. The raw videos themselves play perfectly but not in Premiere. How can I fix this? Is there a way to lower the quality of the videos temporarily in the timeline just so I can edit them with the finished product being in HD?Will upgrading to Elements 10 fix the problem?

How are your hard drives configured?
My 3 hard drives are configured as...
1 - 320Gig Boot for Win7 64bit Pro and all program installs
2 - 320Gig data for Win7 swap file and video project files
When I create a project on #2 drive, the various work files follow,
so my boot drive is not used for the media cache folder and files
3 - 1Terabyte data for all video files... input & output files (*)
(*) for 4 drives, drive 3 all source files & drive 4 all output files

Trying to use only ONE Hard Drive for Video Editing
You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video editing
You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708 for more) with Windows (or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything
I find that the three drives I use work very well for me, for editing AVCHD video... some people use a 4th drive, so video INPUT files are on drive three and all OUTPUT files are on drive four... I only bought a mid-tower case instead of a full tower case (my bad... but had to fit in the space available on my office desk!) so I use the three drives that will fit
Depending on your exact hardware (motherboard brand & model AND USB2 enclosure brand & model AND external hard drive brand & model) AND the type of video file, you may... or may NOT... be able to use an external USB2 hard drive for SD (Standard Definition) video editing

A USB3 hard drive connected to a motherboard with USB3 is supposed to be fast enough for video editing (I don't have such, so don't know) but eSata DOES have a fast enough data transfer for video editing... Videos do not run smoothly, constantly loading

videos do not run smoothly,05 seconds at a clip and with stops to reload, constantly reloading. Running Windows XP , seems to have been aggravated with version 4.0 All videos start and then stop cold within 10 seconds

Why don't videos don't play smoothly? They take forever to buffer

I'm running FireFox 11.o on Windows XP. I clean my history and cookies. I defrag. My add-ons and plug-ins are up to date. I've gone into about;config and played with the dom.ipc.plugins and changed them true/false each one. Why won't the videos I want to watch play smoothly? I use VLC media player and Windows media player and enabled and disabled each one to see if a video will play better on one or the other. No change on the players. Can you recommend anything else I can do to see why videos won't play smoothly?

I reformatted my MacBook hard drive 4 days ago, then the internet didn't run smoothly in my MacBook. If I typed in an internet address, my Safari would freeze for 10 seconds. Most videos also had problems loading in my Safari. I checked my internet upload and download speeds, and those are normal. What can go wrong with my MacBook? How can I fix it? Have you tried a different browser? Download Firefox or Google's Chrome and see if either of those works better.

When I try to watch a video from a certain site it is jumpy and does not run smoothly although the audio does. I get a message about scripts but so not know what to do.

Online videos don't play smooth

Hi,
I pretty new to mac and now i have to following problem. I tried to search for an answer but with no result.
If i want to look on youtube or ebaumsworld all the vids don't play smooth at all. The sound is oke, but it's horrible to look at.
I tried mac updates but with no result.
Bith safari and firefox have this issue for me.

What model G4 do you have & how much RAM? Any Mac with a processor speed below 1.25GHz will usually have sync problems between video & audio. A low amount of RAM can also cause the slowness. The stock video card is also a contributor.

IDVD output video is not running smooth

Hello, I am having a problem with IDVD.
When I burn or just safe the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders on the HDD, the result is bad.
Any video on the DVD is not running smooth, like when it is played on the computer.
I have a MBP with a. 2.2 core duo, and it should have enough horsepowers for the task.
The DVD-menu is running as it should, but the video is bad, though the original quality is fine.
What can I do?

The settings are PAL, as it is for European dvd-players, and the problem seems to be that Imovie exports m4v files, which iDVD needs to convert "do not know why?" into mp4 or something similar, this causes the video to run improperly, "lacking" where it was supposed to run smooth. I do nok know what to do about this. Visual hub does the exact same thing to the video.

My Macbook Pro seems to be running more slowly - I see the spinning ball more frequently. Also, for work, I run PowerPoint presentations with embedded videos and they don't run smoothly. Any suggestions? I am going to try to attached my system get

HD flash video can't run smoothly

Operating system- Windows Vista 32bits, Intel Core Duo CPU 2.10GHz

Those HD flash videos are just laggy when played, sound and movement don't synchronize as well. Examples are 1080p videos from Adobe HD Gallery or this one http://youtu.be/SHZFsJKlsuA?hd=1 which was mentioned by a staff in previous post saying that this video has full hardware acceleration (stage video) enabled. And these flash used over 50% CPU.. Enable or disable hardware accelation in adobe flash player has no use to me. I know the hardware of my laptop are bit out of date, but these HD flash videos including aforementioned ones ran quite smoothly in my other laptop with similar hardware.
Any solution will be much appreciated,

Videos don't play smoothly on brand new top spec MacBook Pro

Hi,
I've just bought a brand new MacBook Pro 15 inch retina, upgraded to 2.7ghz processor.
Video content on YouTube and Vimeo is juddering and skipping worse than it does on my 2009 MacBook Pro. It's not smooth at all.
I've had the computer a couple of weeks and haven't had a chance to install anything on it yet (aside from flash player to play the videos), so it's basically as it came from the factory.
Can anyone offer some pointers as to what could be causing this?

Flash / HTML5 videos don't run on first hit

Hello all,
On my Safari, Flash and HTML videos never start on first hit. I always have to click on HTML5 or FLASH for a video to start playing. Any ideas on how to get them to work on a first click, as they normally do?

sometimes when i am in safari or in another program the rainbow wheel appears but i can still work and then it disappears its so annoying. Hi, ever since I bought my new computer I havent been able to play videos through itunes smoothly. It runs very choppy as though it is streaming with 56k. And sometimes it just freezes. Though it runs perfectly on my ipod. Im currently running vista ultimate with 2gb of ram. A friend told me that it could be my ram or my virtual memory thats causing the problem. I know for sure that I dont have a virus. Can anyone help me?

Have you checked how much CPU iTunes uses when playing videos? On my system 2.6GHz P4 system, iTunes uses 95%+ of the CPU to play videos. MyDVD only uses about 40% to 50% to play movies and I rarely get video stuttering. But is constant with iTunes. I can even play videos outside of iTunes off a network drive and still get smooth video.
Going into QuickTime Properties -> Advanced tab and disable Direct 3D helps a little. I found killing the process RoxioWatch.exe helps a lot but the video is still not smooth.
The odd thing is that you can play an iTunes video from an USB 2.0 flash drive and it plays smoothly. Go figure! Many folks complain about bad video performance when the iTunes library is on SATA or network drives.
I don't know what iTunes is doing to require so much CPU to do video. I suspect that this is because QuickTime does not use Video Overlay like MyDVD, Windows Media Player, and most other video media players do. QT and iTunes just don't make efficient use of resources on MS Windows platform.
Despite that, I still like iTunes and use it as my main media player.
