HD vs DV

Ok, I am confused a little bit about something. I know there is a difference as for in quality of the two. But is there much of a difference when creating a DVD with a HD or a DV project? (as for the quality of the picture). I've been reading some topics about this matter and presently there is no HD burner for HD DVD's.

You are right Bob, it's not good. iDVD doesn't downconvert footage to standard dvd at all well.
I find the best workflow is to write the final edited HDV footage back to the HC1. Then in FCE create a widescreen DV project. Turn on the HC1's downconverter which makes a superior job of downcoverting HDV to DV, and import the footage into your DV project.
When you've finished, locate the imported clip in Capture Scratch. Import that clip into iMovie and add any chapter markers you want. Then share using the iDVD option. The results are much better. In fact you could probably import the footage straight into iDVD
