HD wiped, iTunes not showing purchased songs

So, I always thought that iTunes kept track of your songs by your account? I first got my Macbook, and I started up my iTunes account, purchased a few songs, and downloaded everything from my ipod to my computer.
This wouldn't be such a problem had I put everything I purchased onto my ipod, but I didn't.
I later had some HD problems, and eventually had to have the full thing wiped off. When I got back on iTunes, I signed onto my account, but my entire library was empty. Are all my purchased songs gone forever?

Store policy states that downloads are ONE TIME DEAL & it's the USER'S RESPONSIBILITY to BACKUP important files. Now, if you have your missing purchases on an iPod, iTunes should detect that those purchases aren't present in iTunes & allow you to transfer iPod>iTunes.

  • ITunes not showing all songs.

I recently had to reinstall iTunes and imported my old library.
Library is stored in default location of "C:\Documents and Settings\Larry\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media".
When I view the iTunes Media folder in Windows Explorer the size is listed as 227 GB and 80,304 files (in 5,948 folders)
After adding the above iTunes Media folder to iTunes (File>Add Folder to Library) I only have 7,245 items and 39.63 GB of songs.
Any idea why iTunes is not recognizing so many of my songs.
Also, the vast majority of these songs are from CD's I ripped to my old pc. Very few were purchased via iTunes.
    Thanks.

  • ITunes not showing songs that are on the iPod Touch

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation.
    I use iTunes 11.0.
I usually connect my iPod Touch to iTunes and play songs from there because I do not put songs in my itunes library.
I was doing this as usual and today when I connected my iPod Touch to iTunes, songs did not show up on the music tab of "On This iPod".
Just the previous day, I opened iTunes and there were all my songs.
Today, iTunes does not show any of my downloaded songs that were not bought from the iTunes Store.
The iTunes Capacity Bar shows that I have songs on my iPod Touch.
But when clicking on the iPod and going under the music tab in "On This iPod", there is no music other than a few songs, which were purchased from the iTunes Store itself.
I also tried third party software just today to check if I can get the songs off my iPod.
I tried using SharePod and it did not detect any songs, not even the purchased songs from iTunes.
There are songs on the iPod Touch only. I can play all the songs from the iPod Touch just fine.
They are simply just not showing up on iTunes.
How do I get iTunes to show the songs on my iPod Touch? The capacity bar says there are songs.
I tried SharePod a few times long before this happened, and it showed the songs on the iPod Touch.
I don't understand why all of a sudden the songs all disappeared from iTunes itself only.
(I would say this is similar to other issues where iTunes DOES show songs while the iPod itself DOES NOT. Mine is the opposite.)
Thank you for the help in advance.

I tried backing up the iPod Touch.
Now all the songs on the iPod Touch (except for the purchased ones) are turned to blank names and are skipped.
There is no name for each song or artwork, they all are called 'unknown'.
Only the purchased songs are left unharmed. Everything else is corrupted now.

  • My iTunes library only shows purchased songs but i have more music on my iPod if it syncs i lose it all?

My iTunes Library only shows purchased songs from iTunes, i have music on my iPod from purchased and cds i have burnt from my computer, this all used to show up in my library but since having to have a new hard drive in my computer my library only shows purchsed songs. If i want to sync my iPod it tells me i will lose all exsisting music which i don't want to do, can anyone help?

    - TransferiTunes purchases to the "new" computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
    - When all ths stuff is in your iTunes library, make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and then right-clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Backup.
    - Last, restore from that backup and then sync as necessary.

  • Ipod does not show my songs, neither does Itunes but says there is 10gigs

My ipod or my itunes does not show my songs, but they both say i have 10 gigs on the ipod.. any ideas what is going wrong and how i can fix it?

Try restoring your iPod. Just be aware that restoring will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings, so if you have songs on your iPod that aren't on iTunes you will lose them if you have no back up. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists choose no and it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

  • Upgraded to itunes 8.0 - Purchased Songs now wont play - no error message.

Upgraded to itunes 8.0 - Purchased Songs now wont play - no error message.

You are in that awful authorization loop.
Here are some steps to try.
    1. Deauthorize, then reauthorize your PC - it might be using multiple authorizations and this article shows you how to fix that.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1206
And make sure you authorize for all iTS accounts, even that old one from 3 years ago you may have forgotten about.
    2. Delete the SC Info folder. The entire folder, not just the file. It will get rebuilt the next time you start iTunes. Don't forget to restart your PC, as the article says.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389
    3. Get a free single of the week, which has the latest DRM on it, and play a few seconds of it. Sometimes the latest song of the week fixes everything.
And if that doesn't work, contact iTS support from this page - use the Contact Us button.
They will tell you to do the same things; reply back to their canned response.

  • Purchased does not show purchased

I purchased 8 seasons of a tv show. I can play all of them on my mac, iPhone, iPad and AppleTV. I see all of them on my TV Shows tab in the library. When I go to the iTunes store and do a search for the TV show, I see all 8 seasons. Season 2 - 8 show "Purchased" while Season 1 shows the price as if I never purchased it. (does not show "Purchased")

  • Why does the iTunes not show "Photos"

Why does the new iTunes not show "Photos" after it is synced, and why does iCloud not show Photos also?

Ralph9430 offers a good suggestion.  But you may need to do this before taking his advice:
Check in iPhoto's Preferences (which you can open from the iPhoto menu).  Look in General, and make sure "Connecting Camera Opens" is set to "Image Capture").
If it is set to "iPhoto", you won't be able to get to Image Capture easily.

  • Nokia E-5 music player does not show all songs. Th...

my Nokia E-5 music player does not show all songs. The filemanager does though. have tried every damn thing that i could, from the internet. no solution yet. Nokia wont address it. any solutions? please dont ask me to refersh my music player. nokia now manufactures stupid phones, instead of smartphones..
can any one help, friends? the last option i have to sell it off and wait for an HTC qwerty mango 7.5 phone

I perfectly understand that this is frustrating and of course Nokia should adress this.
I do not work for Nokia so maybe you could contact them. I see you have been to a care centre and reset it, but hopefully by contacting them by email they can log the issue for further work on firmwares?
I hope this sorts out. Have you btw, tried with some other memory card?
If it's not too much of a struggle, try backing up everything you have on it and format it, then reboot the phone which will recreate the needed folders and then drag and drop your stuff back to it and check again.
Hope you get it solved mate!

  • Spotify not showing some songs

My Spotify app on iPhone 4s is not showing my songs that have numbers in front of them such as 1Train, but all other songs are there. In the place of those songs there is just a black box. The only things I've tried are restarting my phone, re-adding the songs, and deleting and re-installing the app. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem with my 60GB. The couple songs that have an album listed show up, but none of the songs by the same artist that don't have an album listed. It just skips right past those to the album list, without the 'All' option. I can get to the songs with no album spec'ed through the Music...Songs...menus, but I always browse by Artist. Now it seems I can't. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Not matching purchased songs in iTunes match

I purched a sampler of sons from iTunes, but when I signed up for iTunes Match it did not match this sampler album.

    Bob Clark wrote:
    Problems include:
    - over 1000 songs labeled uploaded when they should be matched.
    - often some songs from the same album are matched and others uploaded
    - albums purchased from the itunes store sometimes show some songs matched, some purchased, some ineligible, and some removed, sometimes all for single album.
These are realities of the iTunes Match service. No, that isn't satisfying, I agree. However just because a track is available in the store does not mean that track will "match" to what is in your library. Apple's matching algorithyms are based on a variety of criteria which we have been able to determine include the waveform of the song, file size, song length and probably other things we are not aware of. If a track doesn't meet these criteria it isn't matched.
As to why purchased music might be "matched" instead of "purchased" this is a little easier to answer because it is directly related to what is available in your store purchase history. So if you have an album that has 6 "purchased" tracks and 2 "matched" this generally means the tracks are no longer in your purchase history. Even if that same album is available in the store it may not be the same files you originally purchased. For example I have a copy of The Rolling Stones' Black and Blue in my library that I purchased from the iTunes store. This album is still on the store, but it is no longer in my purchase history because the copyright owner made changes at some point and remove the exact version of the files I originally purchased. So now this album in "matched" in my library and it not available for me to download it again. Again, this is frustrating and not satisfying and I voiced my extreme displeasure to the iTunes Store rep that I was originally working with about this policy but it is what it is and there's not anything I can do about it so I live with it and make sure I have backups.
The hiding/unhiding trick can sometimes work to restore missing tracks to albums in your purchase history but my success rate has been rather low. YMMV.
So, if you are looking at iTunes Match with the expectation that it will "match" 100% of the non-iTunes purchases in your library you will be disappointed. At this time there really is no way for and end-user to force a song to "match."

  • Itunes Is Not Showing Purchased Movies

I got a new computer and installed Itunes.  Itunes is only recognizing purchased songs.  It is not recognizing/downloading movies from the cloud  that I received via a code in a movie box.  The movies show up on all my other devices (apple TV, iphone, ipad, etc.).  What can I do to get Itunes to download these movies?
I've tried deauthorizing the computer and then reauthorizing it.  I've also tried syncing the movies from my iphone, but this doesn't work.  Itunes does not show these movies on my phone when I connect it to Itunes even though they are there.
    Thanks in advance

    Hello ikovalchuk17,
Congratulations on your new computer!  Also, thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your purchased movies.
First, I recommend trying to download the movies from your list of past purchases as outlined in this article:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12491
If you are not seeing your purchases there, I suggest reviewing the section titled "Having trouble with iTunes Digital Copy? " in the following article:
