HD with HD Compatible TV?

I am thinking about ordering FIOS.  I currently have an HD compatible TV (about 6-7 years old).  The TV has component hook-ups.  If I order the HD Extreme Package and the HD Receiver will I be able to get true HD?  Or will the HD channels look the same as the SD channels?
Thanks for your help.

Go to Solution.

Is your TV 1080i/p Then yes it will be HD. Component  connections have the ability to get a Max picture of 1080p. Fios only supports TV up to 1080i. As do all Cable companies.

What apps are you trying?  TV out video only works with apps that support TV out.  If the app does not support TV out you will still get aoudio via the component cable

  • Calendar Sync with PocketPC compatible with Windows 7 (WMDC)?

Is Calendar Sync with PocketPC compatible with Windows 7 (WMDC)?

    More details welcome on this.
Oracle has at least 3 different Calendar Server Products and might be the same for a 'Calendar Sync'. Please provide the Calendar Server Version you would like
    to use.
On the other hand there exists a Outlook Connector for at least 2 Calendar Server Version's ( CS6.3 and CS7 aka CalDAV). The Outlook Connector has the limitation that it
won't work with Outlook 2010 yet (this feature is planed for future release of Outlook Connector).

  • After downloading and creating the MSI for Lightroom, the install fails with no errors reported. Checking compatability, windows comes back with   not compatible on both win 7 and 8.1.

Installer MSI fails with no error or message of any kind. Tested compatability with the windows compatability check and it comes back as not compatible. What now?

    Hans,
It is a known problem on Windows 98, Windows and Windows 2000 if you are using Intel Pentium 4 processor with Sun JRE and Symantec JIT. I had the same problem with Windows 98. Oracle has a patch. Please see Note:131299.1 on metalink for details.

  • Oracle Linux 6.2 with RH compatible kernel .versus. Red Hat Linux 6.2 diff?

    Hello everyone
    * assume that I booted Oracle Linux 6.2 with a Red Hat Compatible Kernel - as opposed to booting the Oracle Linus 6.2 with UEK R1 or UEK R2 kernels *
I am interested in any feature differences between the two OS relating to: functionality, reliability, performance, stability and tools.
The reason I ask is that my employer is trying to figure out if OL 6.2 with a RH compatible kernel is identical to the RHEL 6.2 OS, if we excluded the Oracle UEK and Oracle clustering extra functionality.
This OS will not be used to run Oracle 11g R2 database, this is to be used for any other Linux based non-database applications (such has running Java, JDBC, Apache, C/C++, etc).
    many thanks

So now I can tell them to use Oracle Linux 6.x with a RH compatible kernel for all those non-DB systems and use OL 6.x with UEK for Oracle 11g database.
And I remember there was (still is?) a third kernel, which does not contain new features or performance enhancements, but only bug fixes for the RH compatible kernel.
I am not sure if you are going to need it, but it can be very useful in some cases. For example, if there is a bug in the RH kernel, and you don't want to run the UEK line as you want to stick to 100% strict RHEL compatibility, then Oracle can put the fix into this 3rd bug-fix only RH compatible kernel series.
(For me, I've set up dual-boot UEK & standard RHEL kernels on my machines and never have never encountered issues or bugs.)

  • With a compatible operating system, Firefox won't download, Why?

I have a compatible operating system, one that is approved by Firefox, yet I've received information from Firefox that a current download is not compatible with my system. How confusing. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Beginning with Firefox 4, Macs must have an Intel x86 processor ('''''you have a PPC Mac''''') '''''<u>and</u>''''' OSX 10.5 or higher.

  • Any form of editing with vi-compatible keystrokes?

I have done a search through the forum but didn't see any request with this specific item. When using jdeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 is there ANY support for using vi-compatible keystrokes for source code editing (even if it is just java code)? Will jVi work? If that isn't possible, are there any hooks to be able to call out to an external editor (ie, (g)vim) to be able to edit code? Granted I can just edit it outside the IDE and will if there are no workable solutions.

Never hear of this requirement, sill there are some options.
    1. You can try to setup the keyboard shortcuts in a way they work like vi (well, I don't think this will work as the commands work totally different)
    2. you can specify an external editor for java files. Then each java file should open in whatever editor you like. I'm not sure this option is available in 11.1.1.5.0. Check Tools->preferences for 'External Editor' node. It is available in 11.1.2.x.

  • Are files created with CS4 compatible with CS3?

One of our customers has many copies of Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop CS3 installed and used. They now need 2 additional copies but can only purchase CS4. It is not possible for them to upgrade all of their current existing copies of CS3 to CS4.
The question that we have is this. Is Adobe Illustrator and Photoship CS4 fully compatible with Illustrator and Photoshop CS3? These people all work together. Can one person author an Illustrator or Photoshop file using CS4 and subsequently, can those who have CS3 work with the file with complete confidence that everything will always render the same (as it did in CS4)and work properly using CS3?

No...they are not fully compatible at all. In Illy you'll need to save
as CS3 and make sure you don't use any CS4 specific features.
In Photoshop you'll need to be careful as well but you SHOULD BE fine
for most things. No promises though.
InDesign, though you didn't mention it, is completely incompatible.
Files will need to be backsaved through the INX export feature and when
opened in CS3 it's very likely that text will reflow and any new CS4
features will be lost or badly mangled.
Caution is strongly in a mixed environment such as this.

  • Anyone here have good experience with iPhone compatible Ip Cameras?

    Hi
i wanted to know if anyone here actually owns a decent camera they can recommend with a iPhone that records to SD remotely or when motion detection is activated (remotely), has night vision, an zoom tilt or simply works so good and you can use a few at the same time.
i tried a few lower end linkseys and d-links models as well as rimax fixed and wireless models, all which where a mess to set up since the software was written for PCs and some only ran on internet Explorer which does not exist on mac osx any more.
    So please let me know
    Cheers

How does working in wide screen seem when you want full pages?
I have a Dell 20+ (24", I think) at the office. It is 9:16 ratio and a delight to use with InDesign. I regularly compose with binding in mind, so this allows me to have pallets open and view the full spread at the same time. However, if you are needing large type on your icons and menu bars, then you will lose a lot of real estate. I'm not sure you will be able to get the full benefit I receive. I have the resolution set to the monitor's native resolution.
At home, I work with a 15" laptop (9:16) and a second monitor (4:3) that is the same width as the laptop. The second monitor is an LCD and very old (hardware age), so it doesn't do well at the same resolution the laptop does. But the laptop is shorter than the old monitor. Anyway, I do my page view on the laptop because of the better resolution. I put all my menus and pallets on the other monitor. This works well.

  • Sign a document with iPad compatible pen...

Is it possible or will be possible to sign a document on iPad with a pen, for example I have some text and then a person puts signature on it.

This has been discussed a few times already. The latest new thread was this morning. When I replied this morning I found and posted the some of the previous threads. I suggest you use the search function on the right. Also, you can search for apps. I do my searching in appshopper.com. Some apps let you sign PDFs.

  • Problem with mac-compatible games - help!

Si i'm a newly converted mac user. I want to play star wars: knights of the old republic on my new macbook. It is listed as a mac-compatible game, on the apple website.
However, I purchased it in a pack called "star wars, best of pc"
its got several games on each disc, 3 of which are mac compatible.
But it won't let me install, presumably because its not the original release version of the game.
would it be possible to install this, not using boot camp?
i have access to all the system files on my pc, so could i change some extensions or something to make it work? and copy the files over?
any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks all.

  • I got a request to upgrade to firefox 4; it is not compatible with my kaspersky and one other program. I want firefox 4.0 removed and the 3.16.7 version back on - how?

    Started browser as usual.
Browser informed me that the 3.16.7 version was not secure; I should upgrade to 4.0
First problem was the kaspersky was not compatible.
Second problem was hp photo not compatible.
Third is the browser user interface is too different from expected.
Where can I get firefox 3.16.7 so I can continue the way I am used too?

You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

  • I download Firefox 4 which is supposed to be compatible with OSX10.4 and above. But when I click the icon I get a message that it is not compatible with version of OSX10.4.11 and it wont load

I download Firefox 4.o and drag to app folder then to dock. When I double click on the dock icon I get a message the forefox is not compatible with this version of OSX (which is OSX10.4.11). What gives?

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
