HDCP, shouldn't there at least be a label to know you can't play it?

I bought an HD move from iTunes a few nights ago.  I paid my $15 just before dinner, hoping to watch it after dinner, but It took 3-4 hours to download, too late to play the same night.  Now I discover that I can't actually play this HD movie on my 2 year old Samsung HD TV.  It downloaded ok -- I successfully played a few seconds on my laptop, but the idea was to play this for the whole family on a big HD screen.  Searching around I finally found that HDCP prevents me from playing the movie.  Checking back later to the iTunes store I don't see any sort of warning or labeling to tell me in the future what will and will not work with my non-HDCP TV.   Is this all some or all HD movies from iTunes, or maybe all movies?  Am I supposed to throw out my 2 year old $1200 TV and buy a new one?  No way, the net result is that I don't feel comfortable buying any sort of movie from iTunes again, I'll use streaming or go to Best Buy.
Our house is stuffed with Apple products (2 Pro's, 1 Air, 2 MacBooks, 2 iMacs, 1 iPad, 4 iPhones, 1 time capsule, uncountable iPods of all sizes) , but the past year paints a very negative corporate image.  Apple does great design, but with awful ethics towards suppliers and customers.  We also have two kindles, a droid phone and tablet, four switched off Windows machines, and a box of dead phones, most BB's.  I'm not wild about Metro, but Android is ok and doesn't take me for granted.  Next round of replacements goes to something other than Apple, their arrogance hasn't served us well.

It's not apple.  It's the content providers.  Blu-ray movies are like this too.  In fact if you hook up a blu-ray player with red green blue HD connection, the player will only play it in standard def. because there is no HDCP.  The movie companies are SO paranoid that everyone is going to pirate their content they put such rediculous restrictions on it.  HDCP is also, in my experience, notoriously problematic.  In iTunes preference select the play HD in standard def, that might be a temp work around.
You say your TV is only 2 years old.  It's odd that it's not HDCP compliant.  My Samsung is 6 years old & I don't have this problem.  Try a different HDMI cable.

    You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.

    Try this and see if the iPad will restart.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

    Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone should restart. This will have no affect on your data.

    The free version of Edge Inspect limits you to connecting to one device concurrently. (You can certainly disconnect from that one and connect to another if you wish, but it's just one at a time.)
    If you purchase an Edge Inspect subscription, or have a paid Creative Cloud membership, then you can connect an unlimited number of devices concurrently. (Note that I have seen up to 35 connected at once.)

    It does not have to be a decicated wifi router, although it certainly can if that makes sense for you. For example, at my home I have a single wifi router that I always use for my laptops and video streaming devices, with my desktop computer connected to the same router on Ethernet, and I can connect my 5 tablets and 2 mobile phones to Edge Inspect on the same router with no issues.
    My router says it can support up to 250 connections at once (Ethernet + wifi); however, I have nowhere near that many devices so I could not put that to the test. I think a more reasonable limit is around 30; however, that is just based on having to share bandwidth. You might want to check what your router says is its limit.
    Just keep in mind that the more devices you have downloading data, the slower the performance will be.

    Hello everyone. I'm planning to buy an iPod Shuffle.
    This question will decide if I'll buy the iPod Shuffle or wait for iPod nano.
    My firend who own the iPod shuffle said there's a case when certain .mp3, which is a supported file type, just won't play due to many possible reasons.(like encoder, etc.)
    I know that the problem can be solved by letting iTunes convert the files into its preferred format, then that converted files should be able to play on the iPod shuffle.
    I have no problem with that case if I'm ripping musics from a CD AUDIO. But if the file I want is already a compressed format like MP3, I wouldn't want to lower its quality even further by converting it to AAC or any other compressed format.
    When there are hundreds of music files onto the iPod shuffle, and if 2 or 3 of them will never play, you never know since there's no LCD or browsing features. To check hundreds music file by playing them one-by-one in order is a pain.
    But let me state this I do like the iPod Shuffle more than iPod nano. If there's a way to check if EVERY music files in my iPod are playable, I'll choose iPod Shuffle over iPod nano.
    To sum up the question : Is there a way to check if every music files in the iPod shuffle can actually play?

    The shuffle will load from a specified play list in the order of that play list if you set it not to choose randomly.
    You do not have to play the songs all the way through to test them. If a song starts you can skip to the next one and test it.
    You have to test the songs on the shuffle becuse usually the songs will play in iTunes and on other iPods. The only shortcuts I have found are:
    1. If one song from an album will not play then all will not play (this is music store purchases) Thus you can test one song instead of an entire album.Ooops CD - i think I just dated myself.
    2. I have only had problems with songs from the Music Store. YMMV A very small number of songs.

    I just downloaded a batch of new free apps the the App store to my Mac and then synced my iPod and it showed in the progress bar that it was transferring the new Apps to my iPod but when I checked it most on the new Apps weren't on there. Is there a limit to the number of pages you get on the iPod to add new Apps? I actually have 9 pages full now and if the other apps I downloaded are on the iPod where would I find them?
    They are a nightmare to reorganise into groups on the same pages.

    9 pages of apps is a LOT, though I have to admit, I'm about halfway there.
    It doesn't affect how many are SOLD/downloaded... it only affects how many can be used at ONE TIME.
    But you see, will you actually be using ALL 9 pages worth of apps at the same time? Not likely. And as time goes by, you'll find some apps aren't as useful as you thought. While others prove too useful and end up replacing a few others.
    For example, there are dedicated Facebook, LiveJournal, MySpace, etc apps. But if you don't do anything specific, and only blog, you could use one of the third party apps that allows you to blog to most, if not all of them from the same app.
    Do you need a separate app for football, then basketball and baseball, if all you do is see who won? Again, there are other apps that'll give scores for more than one sport... and even include various stats (RBIs, TDs, etc).
    Of the 80+ apps I've downloaded, I've flat out deleted from my computer a handful (cause they stink). And I've "put in reserve" a few others (sort of useful).
    Yes, I agree, there needs to be an easier way to organize them.
