HDD Caddy for Satellite A300D-156

Help me please! I got _Satellite A300D-156_ HDD 320 Gb
There is a place for _one more HDD_ so i bought it, but Ihave not _a caddy to fix it inside the notebook_.
Where can I get it, or maybe it's possible to ask Toshiba to sell it to me or just to send it to me?

I've read previous topics regarding win 7 drivers for A300, though I'd like to consult on my own problem. I've got A300D.
Toshiba drivers page offers very limited list of drivers for Satellite A300D-17G PSAKCE.

Where shall I get the rest?
No matter for 32 or 64 bit. I'll be happy with any of them.

Everything depands on drivers what you really need...
You should check the device manager.
If there are some unknown devices then use the workaround in the HowTo in order to find such driver.
To be honest there are no many different devices.
WLan, Bluetooth, touchpad are not notebooks specific
Wlan driver can be downloaded from here:

Also Toshiba tools like VAP (value added package) Flash Card support utility and similar can be installed on different notebook models
So I dont think that this is little extreme

I have a MBP 4,1 (MB166, 17" Early 2008), this is the last style before apple went to unibody.
I'm looking for a 2nd HDD caddy for my comp, all the ones I am finding are only for unibody! Wondering if anyone knows a place to get a pre-unibody one, thanks!

Hdd Caddy for bay adapte

Hi, I have installed Hdd Caddy for bay adapter , but Notebook (thinkpad w540) can not recognize and see it. But same caddy works excellent on other, Toshiba notebook. what can I do? there is some settings from bios?

Startup menu -> Boot -> Boot priority order.
Make sure that the HDD1 with its model is on the Boot priority order list. If it is on the Excluded from boot order list, it is disabled.

HDD-Caddy for Ideadpad S10e

Hello,
Today I've received my Ideapad S10e (the SSD-Version NS846GE9). Now I'd like to install a hdd into the empty slot, but I've noticed that there's no caddy to tighten the hdd in the slot. In the other Ideapad Versions I saw a caddy which is holding the hdd.
My question is: Is it usual that there is no caddy in the hdd slot in the SSD version? Where can I get a caddy for my Ideapad? Do the caddies from the Thinkpads fit in? Because then I would buy one since I cant find any caddy for Ideapads.

Display driver for Satellite A300D doesn't work

At first, please, sorry for my English :)
So, I have big problem with my graphic card. I have Toshiba Satellite A300D (AMD Athlon Dual Core QL-62 (2.0GHz), 2GB DDR2 (800MHz), 250GB (5400rpm) SATA, 15.4" Wide XGA CSV HB, DVD-Super-Multi (+-R DL), ATI M82XT (256MB), Realtek 802.11 (b/g) 13ch-RTL8187B,Bluetooth,,integr. 1.3Mpix WebCam/Mic w/o auto macro,,,,10/100MBit BTO, 6 Cell BTO, 6 buttons BTO,,Works&Office_HST_Trial_DB,Vista 32bit Home Premium)...
So Ive reinstalled my Windows Vista, but graphic driver (downloaded from official website) dont works. I downloaded drivers from similar website...same problem....Vista, XP...no function.
Help me someone please (and dont recommend me other systems, like Linux etc... ;-) Thanks!!!

The Toshiba ATI graphic card driver from the Toshiba European drive page works!
I dont know what you did and what notebook you have but usually there are different A300D series and you should firstly ensure that you have chosen the right series in the driver download form before you would download any drivers!!
After you have downloaded the driver, unzip it and then execute the setup file.

Wrong BIOS in support page for Satellite A300D

Hi all,
half hour ago i was searching a driver for my a300d and i found a new bios version 2.80-win64 10/02/12
latest bios is 3.30 back in 2009
new versions are always with biggest numbers ..and never after almost 3 years
i'm not stupid enough to try this "new" bios, but there is plenty of fish :)
i hope someone from toshiba service support check this

I need a boot cd for Satellite A300D-17M

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite A 300 D-17M. I forgot to create the recovery DVD before I changed with Paragon Partition Manager the 2 Partitions. My Problem is that the tracks of the files on the hard disk change swap and now the explorer does not start on his own and I can not open anything.
How can I recovery my system now? Need help please!

If the partitions are changed you have big problem.
When notebook has factory settings you can install OS from HDD using F8 at start up and Repair my computer > Toshiba recovery option but I am afraid this will not work properly now.
Maybe you should order Toshiba recovery media for your notebook model.

Max HDD size for Satellite M30

I recently aquired a Toshiba Satellite M30 notebook with a defective HDD, Im just wondering what is the maximum size drive I can put in this thing, I have a 250Gb drive I can use, but dunno if it will be able to address the drive at its actual size

On this old notebook model you can use HDDs with IDE connector only and, as Akuma already wrote, there is 128 GB limitation so I recommend you to buy 100GB IDE HDD and I think it will be OK for this old notebook model.

The Satellite 3000-514 supports the HDD sizes up to 30GB.
You need a HDD 2.5", 9.5mm support bus master IDE, Ultra 33/66 synchronous DMA
Bigger HDD sizes are not supported and I suppose the BIOS will not recognize it.

Hi, I am trying to install a 60 GB HD, but it formats, and it stops at Windows XP Pro instalation.

does it stop without any error message? If not then try another copy of WinXP since the Satellite Pro 6000 shouldnt have problems with that harddrive. I had 2 years a similar machine and I also had a 60GB Toshiba HDD installed. It worked like a charm, so I cannot imagine that the harddrive could be the problem.

Maximum HDD size for Satellite Pro 4290 ??

My hard disk is wearing out (Win 98 tells me it has many bad sectors). Do I have to fit a 6gig hard disk or can I upgrade? If so, how big a disk will the latest BIOS address?
I think I need a 2.5" 9.5mm disk, but I don't know if there are any other specifications I have to adhere to.
ALSO, if I buy a USB hard disk for back-up etc, will the computer see it? Is there a maximum size for external USB disks?

There is no precise information or specification about this issue but I am sure that you can use 10 GB HDD without any problems.
I have two external HDD`s and I have no problem because I use both with USB 2.0. Your unit has just USB1.1 Maybe you should not use HDD with high capacity. I will try to connect my 30GB external HDD to USB1.1. After that I can report you what exactly happens.

the biggest model of the 2800 series was delivered with a 30GB HDD. But I think maybe you can try a 40 or 60GB HDD.
The bad thing is that I cannot promise you, since the machine is a pentium 3 platform and I don´t really know how big they drives can be..
The most secure way is to buy a external USB-HDD and just put the data on it, but thats just my opinion.. ;)

Need sound and webcam drivers for Satellite A660-156

hi all,
my hard disk was physically damaged and replaced by new one. All data and setting were copied.
But I found that no sound and webcam drivers are installed. I successfully had found them and installed, but still no changes. See sound icon with 'no sound' indication, click on it to fix the problem, but no problems have been found.
Offered to see additional info or close the window. On Toshiba website found two sound drivers, but it doesn't help.
Any idea how to fix that problem?
