HDD Drivers for UCS C220 M3L

Hi Experts,
Good Day!
I have a new UCS C220 M3L server which I will be using for my CSM however, when I tried to install my OS (Windows Server 2008 R2 - 64 bit) I don't see the disks, it says that no drivers where found - please see attached file.
May I know where can I download that drivers also what is the recommended version of the drivers that needs to be downloaded?
Thank you very much for the great help.
Cheers,
niks

Hi Walter,
Thanks for the response.
I'm not able to check the BIOS but I can confirm that the RAID is detectable. It shows during the boot up process of the UCS it is currently in RAID 5.
Do you have an idea on what driver version should I download for my UCS?
Thank you and have a nice day!

  • More HDD Capacity for UCS C240

Dear All, I would like to see your advice
The UCS C240 I configure in CCW contain 24 Drive backplane,
my requirement will be 3 unit of 500G HDD (Raid 5) + 21 Unit of 1TB (RAID 5) = Total already 24 drive.
Since UCS C240 do not have more then 1TB SATA drive to choose in CCW, I am also unable to located any SFF Drive for 2TB or more.
In my situation, what if I would like to expand my disk drive capacity in the future?
(Actually I prefer to place 21 Unit of 2TB of more instead of 1TB, but the maximum capacity I can choose only 1TB)
Hope to have your advice, thanks

    Hi Calvin ,
According the specification for a UCS C240 SFF the maximum capacity for a hard drive is 1 TB.
Actually there is no hard drive with a higher storage capacity than that on that UCS model.
    Please check in here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/ps10265/ps10493/C240M3_SFF_SpecSheet.pdf
There is another model of the UCS C240 (High Density) which support hard drives for 3 TB:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/ps10265/ps10493/C240M3_LFF_SpecSheet.pdf
    Hope this helps.

I had orignally thought of using Ubuntu 12.0.4 LTS as the OS and KVM for virtualization. As I read through the supplied docs and attempt to do just that I have some concerns. First is the Embedded RAID controller. According the quick start guide:
"VMware ESX/ESXi or any other virtualized environments are not supported for use with the embedded MegaRAID controller. Hypervisors such as Hyper-V, Xen, or KVM are also not supported for use with the embedded MegaRAID controller. "
I went into BIOS and checked the settings for the Embedded RAID controller and saw that there were two options: MegaRAID and Intel RSTe.  I could not find any thing in the documentation about the difference between these two settings and what would happen if I selected one over the other. I tried both controllers with the two installed drives as a RAID 1 pair and as non-RAID disks with the same results.
The second issue I ran into was that the Ubuntu installer did not recognize either of these two controllers and failed to install. Based on the published documentation, I saw that RHEL 6.4 was supported, so I downloaded and installed CENTOS 6.4 . The installer did detect the Intel RSTe controller as a "Firmware RAID" and installed what I believe is OS level RAID configuration. I say that because when I check the Intel RSTe bios, is still shows two non-raid disks.
So with this background, I am re-grouping to see what is the best way to proceed and have the following questions:
    1) Will I be able to run a virtualized environment at all with my current hardware config?
    2) What is the difference between the embedded RAID options: MegaRAID and Intel RSTe?
    3) Can I just ran both my drives as bare drives without any RAID? Will that deal with the virtualization issue of not being supported with the embedded MegaRAID controller?
    4) Do I have to order hardware RAID controller?
    5) I have read about the Flexi-Flash disks having the ability to slip-stream Linux drivers during the install but no procedures on how to do that. Where can I find them?
    6) Has anyone had any luck installing Ubuntu with this hardware configuration? Is it supported? Or should I just press on with CENTOS?
    7) Related to CENTOS, I installed the basic server option and added GNOME desktop with X-Windows to get some GUI Admin tools. When I trying using startx to initiate a session, it appears that the X-Windows server attempts to start, the screen goes black into Graphical mode and drops back to the CLI with a message that server terminated successfully. Anyone know what is going on here?
Sorry for the long message and I appreciate any help that you can provide!
    Thanks!
    Dave

    Hello David,
If you're going to load ESXi on these servers, there are a few things you need to consider when  ordering them. For instance, you cannot boot from ESXi using a software  RAID controller. So, even if you have some local/internal hard drives  and even if you can install the ESXi OS on those hard drives, you will  not be able to boot from them if you have the software RAID controller.  "VMware ESX/ESXi or any other virtualized environments are not supported  for use with the embedded MegaRAID controller. Hypervisors such as  Hyper-V, Xen, or KVM are also not supported for use with the embedded  MegaRAID controller" (source: Cisco USC C220 Server Installation and Service Guide).  If you're going to use a SAN and you don't even need the internal hard  drives, I recommend using what Cisco calls the Flexible Flash Card. This  card is basically an SD card that comes pre-configured with four  virtual drives. The first drive is the Cisco UCS Server Configuration  Utility, the second is the HV or Hypervisor, the third contains the  Cisco Drivers, and the fourth is the Cisco Host Upgrade Utility. The HV  drive is where you can install your ESXi server and can be made bootable  from within the CIMC. This is much easier than worrying about which  kind of RAID controller to get, and I believe it is a little less  expensive than getting local drives with a hardware RAID controller.
Here is a high level  overview of the steps to follow from racking to booting ESXi.
    To configure the CIMC:
Install the Flexible Flash Card in the server.
Rack the UCS server and plug a network cable into the management port.
    Power it on.
Press F8 to configure the CIMC information (IP address, password, etc.).
From a computer on the same network, open a browser and connect to the CIMC using the IP address assigned in step 3.
Go to Servers | Inventor | Storage to see the Flex Flash Storage Adapters.
Click Configure Operational Profile and then put a check next to the virtual drives you'd like to enable (i.e., the HV drive).
    To install ESXi:
Click Launch The KVM from the CIMC.
In the KVM window, click Virtual Media.
Click Add and browse to where you've downloaded your Cisco Custom  ESXi .iso file and then put a checkmark next to it so it's mapped as the  Virtual CD/DVD.
Click back to the Monitor tab and then click Macros. Select the Ctrl-Alt-Del macro to reboot the server.
Press F6 as the server is rebooting to change the boot device to the Virtual CD/DVD.
Install ESXi as you normally would, but make sure to install it to the HV drive (not to the local drives).
When the install is complete, unmap the Virtual CD/DVD and reboot the server using the macro again.
Press F6 to change the boot device to the HV drive, and it should now boot to the familiar yellow and gray ESXi screen.
    Regards,

  • Cisco UCS C220 with VIC 1225

    Hello,
We have Cisco UCS C220 M3 with VIC 1225 card installed. We connected only one 10G port of VIC 1225 to Nexus 5548UP switch. But I do not see this port on switch and in CIMI the status for this port shows Link Down. I wanted to to iSCSI boot from storage NetApp FAS2240 but since I don't see this port on my Nexus switch I am unable to do boot from NetApp. I tried both ports on VIC 1225 with same result. Please I need help in this matter. I know I am missing something very simple but can't figure this out.
    Thanks,
    Salman

    Hi Kenny,
    Here is the answers:
-What slot is this card installed in?
    Mezzenine
-How many CPUs does the server have installed? (1 OR 2 CPUs can make the difference)
    2x 2.90 GHz E5-2690/135W 8C/20MB Cache/DDR3 1600MHz
-Is the PCIe slot enabled in BIOS? << Let us know if you don't know how to check it from CIMC
I believe I did. Server>BIOS>BIOS advanced> PCIe (Let me know if this correct)
-Have you confirmed that the cable is good?
I have changed four cables. I am using SFP-H10GB-CU2M= Twinax cable.
-If the switch does not even see the port and CIMC says it is down, have you confirmed the switch port is properly configured?
CIMI says “Link Down” in VIC adapter General area. The switch interface config has only “switchport mode access” in default vlan 1.
-What is the firmware running on the server and the OS?
We upgraded the firmware with latest ucs-c220-huu-1.5.4-3.iso.
Let me share with you the complete BoM of the server:

  • Problem with the new server UCS C220 for set IP to CIMC

    Hi
We’ve a problem with the new server UCS C220.
We bought two servers UCS C220 M3 for CallManager 8.6 with High Availability.
When we turn on the server during the boot and when it tells us, oppress F8 to enter at the CIMC and set the IP. But it never enters at the CIMC.
Then, we configure our DHCP server and our switch, we connect the three gigabyte ports to our switch to give him an IP to the CIMC, so and then can enter via browser, but neither works.
Note. The dedicated management NIC does not link, the other two ports do make link.
What do you suggest to put an IP to CIMC and start installing our applications?
    regards

You may have noticed that there is no DVD rom on the c220. What you need to do is:
Login into the CIMC from your browser
    Luanch the KVM
Insert the VMware DVD in your machines drive
On the KVM pop up there should be a tab to mount the drive, after mounting it click on Macros and choose ctrl_alt+delete to restart.
After the VMware OS installs press F2 to enter IP.
Browse to the VMware ip to download the Vsphere client
Open the Vsphere client, enter the ip of the vmware and the username will be root and no password if you did not set one.
You can now upload OVA templates or manually create virtua machine from this enviroment.
    Hope this help

  • Major : PSU_REDUNDANCY Redundancy Lost for BE6K UCS C220 M3S

    Hello Team,
We have several UC deployments based on UCS C220 M3 servers (the famous BE6K).
I'm not coming from systems background, I'm rather a Voice guy.
In fact, the BE6K UCS C220 M3 is shipped by default with only one Power Supply.
However, in the CIMC, we find many times that an alert is raised for Power Supply redundancy and the system LED turns to solid Amber.
Here's the alert : PSU_REDUNDANCY: PS Redundancy sensor, Redundancy Lost was asserted
We don't understand why this alert is raised when we already know that the BE6K server only contains one PSU ?
Is this a true problem or a false alarm ?
How can we clear this alert ?
In fact the fact the system LED is Amber is not a good sign from the customer perspective. As well as when we let it stay in the Amber LED state we wouldn't that a bigger problem (and a true one) may happen ?
The CIMC version is : 1.5.4f
    Please advise.

Thank you for your input Keny.
In fact we don't have a second PSU since it isn't shipped with the server. So, in our case (BE6K server) it's clearly a false alarm.
Is there a way to acknowledge/delete/ignore the alert, so that we don't get confused with other more important alerts that may truly affect the platform ?
    Thank you again.

  • Does Cisco Prime Infrastructure supports monitoring CPU,Memory, HDD for UCS , VMWare?

Does Cisco Prime Infrastructure supports monitoring CPU,Memory, HDD for UCS , VMWare?

Prime Infrastructure/ Assurance is  positioned today more towards managing network elements and network performance,  rather than server infrastructure. We are in the process of adding Datacenter  component support, with more focus on Nexus and UCS- due later this  year.
Having said that, Prime Infrastructure allows the system user to  add custom SNMP polling templates, which can then be used for polling any SNMP  based values from any SNMP enabled device. These can be used to collect the  information you specified below and the polled information will be available in  dashboards and reports.

  • Equium L40 HDD sata drivers for Windows 7

I have Equium L40 17M (PLS49E) running XP... and i want to install Windows 7 and cant.... i need the sata HDD drivers .
But i cannot find these anywere.. i tried the Toshiba driver site and some other driver sites .
I had the same problem when i wanted to go from Vista to XP
And found out i just needed to add the HDD Sata driver into the ISO i was making
I having tried the Vista drivers in it
So does anyone know were the Windows 7 HDD sata drivers are (storage manager)
or if i can use the Vista ones
    Thanks
    Joepeash

    Hi
Normally you can get all drivers on the Toshiba page:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
I have checked the page and it seems that for Windows 7 not all drivers available. So as you already wrote you can try the Vista driver because the most of them are also work on Windows 7.
Alternative you can check the Intel page. Maybe there you can find a newer driver that was official released for Windows 7.
If you dont know how to use this driver exactly, use the forum search. You will find hundreds of threads. ;)

  • Drivers for Windows Server 2008 and HDD issues

Recently I have had the hard drive with my OS fail. After replacing the hard drive and reinstalling windows server 2008 I seem to have run into a few issues with drivers.  After insalling Windows, I had 3 items in my device manager that did not install properly. I was able to get the driver for the LAN port to work but I have not gotten the driver for "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" and "SM Bus Controller". After a little research, I believe the video card is a Radeon HD4350. With that information I still have been unable toinstlal the correct drivers for either of these items. I've tried several drivers listed on the drivers support page on HP's website but all fo them return the same error about not finding the correct Operating System. The link to the driver I used originally on my previous installation seems to not be valid any longer.
Also I can't seem to access the two additoinal hard drives (connected by sata). They were used with the previous installation of windows with no issues. They appear in the device manager but do not show up under My Computer. A removeable drive does show up that I'm not sure what it is. Previously I had used software to mirror one of the drives onto the other as to prevent losing data if a drive would fail. Is one of the above drives causing the issue with not being able to access the drives or did the software used before cause the problem?
Any help on these issues is greatly appreciated.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    OK.
I can't help you with the drives then.  That is out of my realm of knowledge.  If they are marked healthy and active in the disk management utility, then that is all I know that they should be indicated.
    As for the graphics driver...
Download and install this free file utility.
    http://www.7-zip.org/
After you install 7-zip, right click on the graphics driver file and select 7-zip from the list of options.
Select 7-zip to Extract to: and let it extract the file into a folder.  I let it extract to the file name of the folder.
Then just follow the rest of my instructions to install the driver.
Of course you will first browse to where 7-zip has extracted the folder to, and proceed from there.

  • Gathering Hardware Utilization Statistics for UCS B/C Series via SNMP - Is it possible?

It is possible to gather typical cpu, memory, fan speed, and hdd utilization statistics from the Cisco MIBs for UCS B / C series servers?
The excellent Cisco UCS Monitoring Resource Handbook (https://communities.cisco.com/docs/DOC-37197) provides a link to the following document for MIB Loading Order and Statistics Collection Details:
MIB Reference for Cisco UCS Standalone C-Series Servers:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/unified_computing/ucs/sw/mib/c-series/b_UCS_Standalone_C-Series_MIBRef.pdf
In Table Four of the above referenced document, it contains various MIBs/OIDs used for gathering statistics.
    For example, this processor section:
    Processor
    CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-PROCESSOR-MIB
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.41 is the parent OID where the key statistics reside.

    Amir

    Hi tak,
my suggestion is to place the main prog outside the loop B but inside loop A. This makes sure, that Loop A is turning once with every execution of the main prog. Beside this Loop B is executing independently. Then you need some communication between your main program and the loop B which can be implemented easiest with global variables, one for each communication direction. This could look like this to abort the main prog on "emergency":
and to tell the Loop B to stop on finish of the Main prog:
In the main prog- VI (which is a bit weird, because the while loop execute always and only once and therefore is unnecessary) your experiment shoult execute in a while loop, since it is abortable dynamically. The for loop will execute the predefined count, defined by wiring the "loop count"- terminal or wiring an array with autoindexing.
I hope this helped a bit,
    dave

  • Hp pavilion tx2110us drivers for windows 7

    hello,
i have a hp pavilion tx2110us entertainment notebook (tablet). i recently upgraded from vista home to windows ultimate. i have a few issues with this. i would be very happy if someone could help me here.
    1. the tablet buttons (on the side of the scree dont work), just the settings one works...the rotate, the dvd one dont! i had installed some driver seeing the forum but it only solved a part of the problem. i.e. the settings button for tablet. can i find the drivers for it somewhere??
    2. there is no fingerprint recognition  any more. though its not a big problem but i feel i am not getting what i paid for...;-)
    3. the images when opened in fax viewer or anyother prog seem stretched. i tried to set the screen resolution but it shows on the highest. my driver should be nvidia but currently it is standard vga. where can i find the driver for this....it is not on the hp site....i have a 32 bit os.
    4. even the software updates avalaible on hp site dont work some how. i even tried the vista ones but it says it cant load them as i have windows 7.
    thank you.

i dont have an active connection on my laptop. as in i cant be on net for too long to get windows updates. is there a way to download the display driver other than updating my drivers from the internet?
So we will install network drivers to solve this problem.
Install as first driver for chipset / lan card:
    NVIDIA nForce Chipset/Network here
After installtion of this driver You need to restart your system. This is very important.
    Driver for wireless card:
    Broadcom wireless here
Both this drivers are normally on your support page for Vista system, but they will work great under Windows 7 too.
Only If for some reason wireless driver will not work great then uninstall it first and install latest version released by HP:
Broadcom Wireless here (ver 5.60.48.35  for 32/64 bit Win7)
    Resource:
    Uninstalling Software in Windows 7
Uninstall or change a program in Windows 7
Most of Vista drivers should work under Windows 7. You may find all of them here.
When normal installation will fail, then try to run unsuccessfully installed file in Compatibility Mode (Windows Vista, Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and Windows Vista Service Pack 2).
    Resources:
Make older programs run in this version of Windows
How to Run a Program in Compatibility Mode in Windows 7
If even this will fail then use Windows Update as I said before and install drivers from optional section.
I don't have much knowledge about tablets, but according to other post on this board Wacom Digitizer Driver solves problem with rotation.
This answer was wrong. According to this topic solution on problem with rotation is installation of HP Quick Launch Buttons and Graphic driver.
    Important informations!
You've got nVidia graphic card and AMD processor. Because of that You should check temperature of your GPU.
If it's high then You should install driver for graphic card from Windows Update as fast as it's possible.
How You may check Your notebook CPU (processor), GPU (graphic card), motherboard or HDD temperature?
To do that use HWMonitor (free and recommended).
    PS.
If You will still have any problems then let me know about it.
I will try to help You.

  • Need Win XP Drivers for Satellite A100 bought in Malaysia

    Hi All,
I bought this A100 (PSAAKL-00E002) in Malaysia. Below are the specs
    * Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T2060
    (1.73GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB)
    * Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic
    * 512MB DDR2 SDRAM
    * 80GB Serial-ATA HDD
    * DVD SuperMulti Double Layer Drive (DVDRW/RAM)
    * 15.4" WXGA TFT display
    * ATI Radeon Xpress 200M, up to 128MB shared VRAM
    * Integrated Wireless 802.11b/g
    * 56Kbps Modem
    * 10/100Mbps Ethernet
and upgrade to 1GB Mb RAM currently.
I occasionally get BSOD in Vista Basic. Not that frequent but occasionally BSOD. I felt the new Vista is kinda sensitive to any drivers changes. Eg. screnario: I bought a new mouse, plug it and it will start installing the itself. After installing the mouse drivers, i went to control panel->mouse to change some settings.... well.... BSOD... :(
So i decided to downgrade to Win XP Pro instead. I manage to get everything installed except the graphics card drivers: ATI Radeon Xpress 200M.
I tried to download from all the Toshiba website but none of them is working. I even tried to download from ATI website itself. Everytime i try to install the drivers it prompts me, missing "INF".
For VISTA here is the list of drivers and application that need to be installed
    Sun Java 2 Runtime Environment
ATI UMA Chipset Software and Display Driver
    Realtek ALC861 Audio Driver
    Synaptics TouchPad Driver
    Realtek Wired LAN Driver
    ENE1410 Cardbus driver
    TOSHIBA Software Modem
    Atheros 802.WireLess Lan Driver
Toshiba Extended Tiles for Windows Mobility Center
    TOSHIBA Value Added Package
    TOSHIBA Hardware Setup
    TOSHIBA Supervisor Password
    TOSHIBA Assist
    TOSHIBA ConfigFree
    CD/DVD Acoustic Silencer
I manage to install all the mention above in XP except for "ATI UMA Chipset Software and Display Driver"
Now I'm not sure that the missing "inf" is referring to the chipset or display driver
Anyone have any idea where i can download a compatible graphic drivers for Win XP PRO?

yupe..i'm facing the same problem. it is not BSOD but it is freeze and halted. You can try to remove one additional ram. It will work fine in single 512MB RAM. I tried single 1GB ram, it will halt in vista too. i had post the message, but i can't found the message anymore in my history message now. someone is reply me but my post is missing now?? :(. help!
I think it will be a known issue in future.:0

  • STOP 0x0000007B Blue Screen Error after updating drivers for my P67A-C45

    Hi!
I recently updated the drivers for my mainboard MSI P67A-C45. I did this with the update utility that follows this product. I choose the "update all" function so I'm not really sure what was actually updated but I remember seeing the bios and my realtek network drivers in the list of stuff being updated. Anyway, during (what I think was) the update of my BIOS (a CMD window appeared and started executing tasks) my computer suddenly restarts. I wasn't really paying attention during this process but it seemed like it wasn't finished and that the restart was unintentional.
Now during boot I get a Blue Screen message at the "Starting Windows" logo. The Blue Screen flashes by and my computer restarts instantly. It's a STOP 0x0000007B message which probably has to do with the drivers I just tried to update.
I have Windows 7 64-bit and I have tried the startup repair and the system restore function without any success.
    Any ideas?
Can I revert these updates or maybe install the original drivers without formatting my hdd? I have the original CD that came with the board.
    Best Regards
    Victor

AHCI is a mode setting for the SATA controllers. You will find it in Integrated Peripherals. If you haven't set it to AHCI, it normally defaults to IDE mode. X79 platform being the exception. Yes. Remove LU5 & download & install all driver updates & such manually.
If your UEFI/BIOS did get flashed by LU5, I would recommend to remove the power cord from the PSU, remove the battery for awhile, clear CMOS, reset all the settings, especially check in the OC Section, CPU Features. Check to make sure there are no '0's showing. I don't know what your CPU is, so I don't know what to tell you to set the Core Ratio limit for each core if they are in fact sitting on 0. Disable Spread Spectrum & EuP 2013.

    Go to:
    http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
    Here choose:
    +Notebook+
    +Satellite+
    +Satellite C+
    +Satellite C50T-A+
    +All+
    +Windows 8.1 64bit+
Now you will get all drivers for this notebook series.
Note: On the page you will find different WLan driver since different WLan modules have been used in the different models.
Just check each of the drivers
To get the Bluetooth working, you need to install additional Bluetooth Filter Driver Package. This depends on the Wlan module your notebook support.
The proper Bluetooth Filter Driver Package I found in Satellite C50T-B series
