HDMI audio and video problems on new DV6t se
Just received my HP Dv6t laptop and i immediately upgraded to Windows 7 ultimate. I am facing two problems,
Firstly, if i disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable the sound only comes from the speakers and not the monitor (works fine with my HP HDX16t laptop using the same hardware). I set the HDMI sound to default when the HDMI cable was connected to my monitor. But when i tried to do the same thing when its disconnected i dont see the HDMI option (i already ticked the "Show disabled/disconnected devices" tab).
Secondly, i use an ASUS monitor for work purposes and a SONY TV to watch movies. When i connect the HDMI cable to the SONY TV it underscans the image and i have to readjust it to fit the TV. Similarly if i re-adjust the image and connect the HDMI cable back to my ASUS monitor it overscans the image (because that's how i had it on the TV) and i have to fit it again. This wasn't a problem with my HP HDX16t laptop (again using the same hardware)

Hi,
This issue happens most probably due to Corrupted Video Card Drivers.
Right click on Desktop, click Screen Resolution, set the Screen Resolution Slider to Maximum, click Apply/Ok.
Check if you are able to play Videos fine. If it does not work.
1. Click Start, type: DEVMGMT.MSC in Search Field and Press Enter. It opens Device Maanger Window.
2. Go to 'Display Adapters' category, and expand it. Right click on Display Driver entry, and click uninstall.
3. Click Start->All Programs->Recovery Manager->Click Hardware Driver installation.
Select Video Card Driver entry, and click Install.
Restart the PC, and check of the issue has fixed.

SCCM 2012 Client and Workstation Audio and Video Problems
SCCM 2012 SP1 environment.
We have pushed out the SCCM Client successfully to our systems - however we have found that on some computers the SCCM Client is causing an audio/video problem - specifically it appears to be with computers that connect monitors via DVI. As an example,
on my laptop (Dell e6420, Win7 x64) I have a docking station that connects my laptop to 2 external monitors. With the SCCM Client installed I cannot listen to music or watch videos - the result is an unusable choppiness/stuttering listening to music
and with a video the audio and video get out of sync. As well, my mouse no longer functions smoothly - it jumps around. This happens whether accessing content from a website or simply a local file on my computer. If I uninstall the SCCM client,
the issue goes away entirely. I have tried disabling the SMS and Remote control services but doing so does not resolve the issue, only a client uninstall. Note that this only happens when the laptop is on the docking station - with DVI - it doesn't
happen when the laptop is running without an external monitor or if plugged into an HDMI output device.
At first we believed this was limited to this model of laptop in our environment (Win8 or Win7 - both result in the same problem), but now we are hearing about "audio and video issues" on Dell 990 workstations as well. I believe these stations
have DVI connected monitors. Driver updates do not appear to resolve the issue.
Has anyone experienced this in their environment? Note that this happens on imaged workstations and workstations installed from a vanilla Windows 7 or 8 CD.Try installing the client without Silverlight and see if it helps (this is only used for the Application Catalog).

Premiere Pro CS6 importing/ audio and video problems
I recently recorded gameplay from my xbox, when i open this recording using windows media player it states that the video is 3 hours 30 minutes long, which is correct, when i then import this into premiere pro, premiere pro changes it to be 5 hours and 44 minutes long, when i then play this back it plays in slow motion and audio and video start to desync, i thought it may just be the source editor playing up so i made a clip and put it into the timeline and it still had the same outcome. The speed/duration are still on 100% so im not sure what to do, anyone have any idea as to what this is, or why it is happening?
What are the attributes of your PVR video...

Skype V. 7.6 (409) Mac audio and video problems
I am getting inconsistent problems with audio and video. Here are the problems when calling three different contacts.
1. Audio to Audio worked fine with my first contact, but trying to add video crashed the audio. This happened when I tried to add video, and also when the other person tried to add video. These same problems persisted regardless of who called whom. In the end, we had a good audio to audio conversation and were also able to send messages and share files without problems.
2. My audio and video were received by the second contact, but I could not receive audio or video from them. These same problems persisted regardless of who called whom. In the end, I used audio and video while the other person typed messages in response.
3. My audio and video were received by the third contact, and I could receive their video, but they could not hear my audio. These same problems persisted regardless of who called whom. We didn't bother trying to continue our conversation.
So, I checked all my settings to ensure audio and video were properly set up. Also, I made a successful skype test call. It is very puzzling to me since the results were inconsistent with each of these contacts. If the same problem existed at my end, then I could expect a hardware or driver issue on my computer, but sometimes the other person had the problem, I think. Can anyone help? Final cut pro x, audio and video problem
hi I converted a DVD video movie by DVD converter in order to use it in FCP but when i inport into FCP the audio and video does not line together, I mean the person will speak and the voice follows after. HELP PLEASE!!!
I used a media converter that I downloaded from apple store. I cant really see any option to choose the audio format, sampling .......etc the options on the converter are:-
1. Audio stream which is greyed out,
2. Output format {H.264 video, MPEG 4 etc.}
3. Video Quality { Highest, High, Normal, Lower, Lowest}
4. Audio Quality { Highest, High, Normal, Lower Lowest }
basically I have no clue how to do it I am a bit new in this world of computers, can you tell me how to to it

my ichat audio and video don't work with any of my friends, no problems with a text chat, i'm using tiger and they all have leopard, all macs are up to date, i've tried messing around with the ports, firewall is off, internet sharing is off, i know a lot of people are having this problem, are there any answers to this that actually work, i'd appreciate any help

Presumably you mean this Linksys is set to Not Block Pings on the WAN port (Or whatever phrase your device has) ?
I also presume that you have done the Quicktime Setting that Steve mentions above ?
I presume the Linksys is the modem as well and it is doing UPnP ?
At this stage I have two suggestions.
1)
Shut down the computer and remove the Ethernet cable (modem or computer end does not matter) (Make sure it will not connect Wirelessly when restarted before hand)
Restart the computer
Restart iChat.
Reconnect the Internet
Log iChat in.
2) Try a reinstall of the COMBO version of the 10.5.2 update
Both of these suggestions have been used in previous iChat's when other things have not worked and the set up appears OK on the surface.
Also try
3) Rebooting the router and a Modem if separate.
4) In System Preferences > Network > Connection method > Advanced Button > DNS tab add the DNS servers of your ISP
DO them one at a time so you know which one works.

Ichat audio and video problems, error 8
I've been reading the other ichat posts, and it seems that I have kind of the same problem. I can't get audio or video to work with iChat. I can send or receive invitations, but then it gives me an "error -8" message and the attempt fails.
I have a new computer, so this is the first time I've tried to do iChat audio/video chats. I connect via DSL with a Siemens speedstream modem connected to an Airport.
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds as if you need to adjust a few settings:
Navigate to:
System Pref>Quicktime>Streaming = 1.5
iChat>Pref>Video>Bandwidth limit=NONE
Try making those adjustments and let's see what happens.

Streaming Flash content (audio and video) problem
My Mac Pro can't play audio or video on sites like MySpace and YouTube. I get the spinning wheel on Safari and Firefox, meaning I have to Force Quit every time. My Powerbook works fine in this respect, so it can't surely be a network/isp problem.
I've posted in all the forums I can find and no-one has been able to help.

I've repaired permissions booting from the install disk and that hasn't helped. Don't know what else to do. I'm loathed to reinstall all the apps on the system drive unless I definitely have to...Should I trash the Flash Player and install from scratch, or is that pointless?
No, it's advisable.
It is suggested that you first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
You should also ensure that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Update 2009-001 (and for Tiger only, 2009-002). (N.B. Security Updates require both a restart and a permission repair.)
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:

Linking audio and video problem
Hi, I cannot figure this out. I edited a sequence yesterday, opened it today and the linking stopped working. When I add new clip to it, linking works on the new one, but still doesn't work on the clips I edited yesterday. I tried trashing prefs, clicking Shift+L with clips selected, Modify-Mark in Sync... Any ideas how to fix it? I'm crazy about it... Thanks
If audio is unlinked you link one at the time if all video clips are linked to audio and you want to unlink them then select all and hit Command+L.
If you want to move audio or video separately despite being linked toggle off linked selection button ( hit Shift+L) -
Audio and video problem when streaming after flash player update
After i updated to the latest flash player (11.7) I have problems with video streaming. The video plays but after a while the audio stops and the video will keep playing but will also stop after a few seconds. Is the new flash player update at fault?
hello volden, your system details list two versions of the flash plugin (Shockwave Flash 11.7 r700 & Shockwave Flash 11.6 r602) as being installed in firefox, which can lead to problems.
please try to use the [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html flash uninstaller provided by adobe] to remove both versions and afterwards only install the current plugin from https://www.adobe.com/go/getflash -

I'm new to actionscript 3 having and issue with background music. How do i get background music to loop on a single frame in flash? I'm building a front end, so want a certain track to loop on a certain frame. Is there a way to do it? Also how do I load video into a swf in AS3? I have a problem with audio and video synchronization. I'm using Merge class to merge video and audio tracks. But audio track can be shorter then whole video track (for example video length: 2 min., audio length 1 min.). When I merge them everything is OK. After that I'd like to concatenate more tracks (generated from merge) into one final video file. For this purpose I'm using Concat class.
But here is the problem, after I concatenate all these tracks then the result video is OK but audio is synchronized right after the previous audio track ended. (If I have video1- 2min. audio1 - 1min., video2 - 2min., audio2 - 30 seconds, then second audio2 starts in 1,30 min right after the first audio track. But I want to start it when the second video2 starts.) Do you have any ideas??

I was wondering this, because I want to hook up my 2011 MacBook Pro to a external monitor (TV) using an hdmi cable. This would be heplful before I buy a mini displayport to hdmi adapter, and then maybe find out that the mini displayport might not transfer audio, only video.
Yes, min Displayport supports audio and video for the 2011 MBP 13" via HDMI.
