Hdmi audio on the lcd monitor

I'm using the mini-dvi to hdmi, hdmi to hdmi adapter and im wondering if there was any way to have the audio come out of the lcd monitor instead of from my computer?

Are you connecting to a TV? If so, something like this is what you need: http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F8V235-12-12-Foot-Audio-Cable/dp/B000067RBT/ref=sr11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1239900633&sr=8-1
Otherwise, you can buy any set of external speakers, so long as they connect to the audio-out (headphone) jack on your computer.

  • Backlight of the LCD monitor is not turning o

For some strange reason, my Zen Micro, which was working perfectly until today, ran into a big problem. The backlight for the LCD monitor does not turn off, even when I shut it down. The backlight remains on until I remove the battery. I tried to adjust the settings and even re-format my zen mirco, but it is still having the same problem. Please help! Thanks.

Yes, I have tried everything from resetting to reformating and still the problem remians. I don't know what could have happened to it. It was working perfectly until this somehow happened. Has anyone else recieved this problem? Thanks.

  • Dust speckles under the LCD monitor screen

    Hi,
I have a Canon Rebel T3i and have had it for a year and a half.I love it. However, lately I've noticed several speckles of dust under the LCD monitor screen. it's not affecting my pictures but is kind of distracting when i'm looking at the pictures on the monitor. Anyone else familiar with this problem or know what I can do about this?

"... picture and is only on the display ..."
Boy you have throughly confused this ol'boy.  What exactly is the dislay?  Are you talking in the view finder?  Are you talking the LCD screen on the back of the camera?
It is easy to get dust in the view finder but, I think, impossibile to get dust under the LCD display.
If you are talking the view finder, get a Rocket Blower.  The rest are junk.

    Hello Experts,
I'm trying to find out if there is a way to have the content move to different positions on the LCD Monitor.  The presentation we have always has the contenrt in the same position on the screen.  Other than creating multiple playlist and scheduliung them to play at different times I'm not sure how this can be done.  But if anyone knows how this can be accomplshed please let me know.
    Thank you ,

  • Can the audio for the source monitor be muted during playback?

Seems like a silly question but I like to listen to music on the same workstation while I'm previewing/trimming clips in the source monitor. In this instance I do not need to preview the audio in the clips so I'd rather not hear it while my jams are playing, which keeps me from poking my eye out with a pen after 4 hours of previewing .
I have not been able to locate any mute option for the source monitor so I'm open to suggestions other then using something other than the same workstation (iPod n headphones), which may be the way I go if there is no other option.
    thanks,
    Dave

    Hey Harm,
I can't see the audio tracks in the source monitor (CS4). I only see the audio tracks of clips that are loaded in a timeline. Right now I have a thousand (literally) clips from a season of club volleyball. I have them loaded in bins in the project panel and I am dbl clicking each clip to load it in the source monitor panel (that I have undocked and displayed on a seperate monitor). I have seperate sequences for the types of plays I want to keep, so as I preview/trim in the source monitor I drop what I want to keep in the appropriate timeline/sequence. If there is a way to view the audio tracks in the source monitor without the clips being in a timeline I do not know how.

  • Some kind of glue coming from the LCD-monitor

My husband gave me a BB pearl for Christmas last year (08)….but suddenly, a couple of weeks ago (maybe months), I started to get some kind of glue from the “monitor”…
I called T-Mobile right away, and they said that as we did not pay for the insurance, they cannot do anything for this issue…They also said we couldn’t claim the guarantee because they have never heard anything about glue coming out from the monitor…
Does anybody face something like this?

I haven't heard of that, yea it is possbile I suppose.
If I were you, I would take it back to the specific Tmobile retail store where it was purchased and demand the replacement in warranty since it it still less that a year old.

  • How do I audition separate audio tracks in the source monitor?

I don't see anything about this in the Help doc.
I want to listen to all four tracks independently from a P2 card, but when I load a clip into the Source Monitor, it sounds like I'm only hearing one track, or maybe I'm hearing all four.  I honestly don't know what I'm listening to.

You're listening to just one; Premiere Pro is screwed up in this regard. Monitoring audio in the Source Monitor is limited to one track at a time, be it multi-mono or stereo.
Switch to the Audio Waveform view, and then click the Track selector; it's defaulting to Track 1.
Unfortunately, this only stays active for the current clip. When you're done screaming and swearing, please file a feature request for smarter audio monitoring: Adobe Feature Request/Bug Report Form

  • No HDMI Audio from PNY Nvidia G210 Card - Please Help [SOLVED]

    ***** It's now working! *****
Thanks to some of the posts on the XBMC and Ubuntu hardware forums. I picked up a lot of pointers.
When using this card with XBMC, There is no need at all for an /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf with probe masks etc. and there is no need for a /etc/asound.conf either (if you are going to just use XBMC like me for your HTPC setup)
All you need is ALSA 1.0.23 installed and at least be running kernel 2.6.34. aplay -l should reveal multiple (4) Nvidia devices as shown in my previous text further down this post, this is fine, however only 1 of these Nvidia devices will actually deliver sound to your TV via HDMI.
In XBMC, goto System Settings, Audio Settings, set device to "Custom" and enter only ONE of the following and then try and play a movie or music in XBMC... (My G210 Nvidia soundcard is card 1 as I also have onboard audio at card 0 so bear this in mind when applying this method to your setup e.g if your HDMI soundcard is card 0 then the first thing to try is plughw:0,3)
    plughw:1,3
    plughw:1,7
    plughw:1,8
    plughw:1,9
My PNY G210 card worked using a "Custom" device in XBMC of plughw:1,8
If you are not using XBMC and are using for example a Gnome desktop then you can apparently get sound working by using the text in the code box below in your /etc/asound.conf (this will ensure alsa defaults to the correct card and sub device for hdmi audio) again ensure you are using the correct card number and device number. You can validate this by testing audio as follows from the command line "speaker-test -D plughw:1,8 -r 44100" and simply work your way through the 4 devices until you find the one that works.
    pcm.!default {
    type plug
    slave.pcm {
    type hw
    card 1
    device 8
Given the amount of testing and reading I have done on this, I wouldn't be surprised if this method works for any G210 Nvidia cards and HDMI audio, as the logic seems sound (if you'll pardon the pun! :-))
Hopefully someone will find this helpful.

Has anyone got HDMI audio working on this card under linux?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer as I have now run out of ideas and if I can't get this to work will have to revert back to my old ASUS EN9400GT card which takes s/pdif from the motherboard for audio out to HDMI.

  • *** dv4-1413tx No HDMI Audio to TV

    Please help.
When I plug in the HDMI cable, I only get the Video on LCD TV screen. But there is no audio sound from LCD TV speakers. The audio only output thru dv4-1413tx speakers.
I have tried changing the Default Sound to NVida HDMI audio - but still no audio. When click Test Sound, the audio bar is bumping up and down, but no audible sound from LCD TV speakers
In fact, I notice that once I plug it the HDMI cable, after a short while, the LCD TV will beam up the desktop screen, and when I click on the Sound icon at System tray, it also indicates that it has switched to NVida HDMI audio output. But there is no audio sound on LCD TV speakers. I need to change the Default Sound to notebook speakers, then I get audio sound, and it is output from the notebook, but the video on LCD TV.
I have also tried all HDMI ports of the LCD TV - only Video, NO Audio
Why? I understand that HDMI is capable of transmitting video and audio right???
Please advise how I am supposed to get HDMI audio to LCD TV speakers.......tks.

  • Trouble running DVI video and HDMI audio out of 6950

    Twin frozr iii 6950 2gb (X2 crossfire)
    Asus VG236 Monitor
    Windows 7
    MSI P67A-G43 Motherboard
    Yamaha RX-V371 Receiver
I have two Twin Frozr iii 2gb 6950 cards and am attempting to use the HDMI on the video card solely for 5.1 audio out to my receiver while using video through the DVI jack of the same card directly to my monitor without success.
-Audio functions if I run the HDMI from the card into my receiver, then out to my Asus VG236 monitor.
-Audio functions when I run from the card to my receiver then out to my plasma tv.
-Audio functions if I have the DVI run directly to the Asus VG236 monitor and HDMI to the receiver then plasma tv (only in dual display and the tv must be on for audio to function this way. If I turn the tv off even though the receiver is still on the audio stops working and windows sound lists the 'AMD HDMI Output' as not plugged in).
-Audio even fuctions when I run DVI to the monitor and HDMI to the receiver, then out to the HDMI port on the same monitor but the monitor will only run at 60hz this way even when DVI is selected on the monitor, as though it defaults to the HDMI when dvi and hdmi are both plugged into the monitor.
And if i run the hdmi to the receiver "HDMI IN" port without using the "HDMI OUT" port from the receiver to anything, like my tv or monitor, the sound doesn't work and in windows sound the "AMD HDMI Output" is listed as "not plugged in" .
I purchased this monitor for the true 120hz capabilities, the HDMI on this monitor doesn't support 120hz, the maximum is 60hz. DVI is required to run at 120hz. I don't see any option in windows sound settings or CCC to resolve this.
I have also tried disabling onboard audio in BIOS with no effect.
For now i'm running the audio out my MOBO jack through an optical cable to the receiver but optical only supports 2.1 sound.
Any suggestions you can offer would be appreciated, thank you

  • How do you setup HDMI audio with "Nvidia Quadro 4000 for Mac"?

So I just purchased a new Mac Pro:
    Mac Pro (5,1) 3.33 GHz 6-Core
    8 GB Ram
    ATI Radeon HD 5770
    1TB HDD
    OS 10.8.3
I also purchased a new Nvidia Quadro 4000 for Mac Graphics Card because the 3D animation software I'm using (Blender) requires this card to accelerate render times.
I have installed the card and all is working well as far as I can tell except for the HDMI audio.  According to the specs on Nvidia for this card, it DOES support HDMI audio through the Display port.  I have my HDMI cable plugged up and the video works great.  However the audio option does not show up in the System Preferences.  (Here is the page for the graphics card.  Look under "specifications" at the bottom for the audio part.  http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-quadro-4000-mac-us.html).
I did find a link for a kernel addition for HDMI audio but it stated "non-Apple Nvidia cards" and this one is specifically for Mac.  Here is that link:  http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1499797.  (I also plan on posing the same question there.)
The reason I want the HDMI to work is I'm using a TV as my monitor.
Now I did try the HDMI with the ATI Card and both the audio and video work great.
What I did for a quick work around is install both cards and use the GPU processor on the Nvidia for the animation program and use the ATI for the actual port and this fixes the hdmi audio issue.  However this takes up pretty much all of my PCI slots and seems like a waste of space and power.
Has anyone else run into this problem and found a solution??  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I went ahead and tried that extension that I found.  It worked!
I guess Mac just didn't include the audio support in the driver that it includes.  Below is were I found the instructions and download.  It includes a shell script that installs the kernal from the Terminal prompt.  The instructions were clear and installed with out a hitch.  There were also instructions to remove it if there were issues.
    Here is the link:

Thanks again and hope this helps.

  • No HDMI Audio to my Vizio TV.

So I'm getting no HDMI Audio at all when I hook up my PlayBook to my Vizio M3D460SR. I've enabled HDMI audio on the PlayBook, restarted it a few times, even wiped it. Still not working. I have a Kindle HD Fire that works as it should using the same HDMI cable to the television. The PlayBook's HDMI audio works fine on my Sony Bravia set which leads me to believe it's the tv but since it's playing HDMI audio for the Kindle Fire HD just fine, it makes me wonder... So would it be the tv?

  • [SOLVED] ATI HDMI audio fails when playing videos... fine otherwise.

On a fresh install of Arch Linux, despite being an amateur at best. I'm using ATI HDMI audio using the open source driver, on GNOME 3. I'm switching to Catalyst after posting this to see if that might help, somehow.
After adding the radeon.audio=1 to the bootloader, audio on the system began working just fine as long as I restricted myself to audacious (haven't tried another audio player) or the system sound tests. When I try to use VLC, or mplayer2 for that matter, not only does it not play the audio associated with the video but NO audio will pass through the system at all. I have tried changing the audio source in VLC, although default should work... nothing works. Changing the audio in VLC will cause the system's audio to max out. Changing it back to something else doesn't help, but I can change the volume after closing the video programs, and after a few clicks it will go back to the "bloop" sound that confirms volume changes. Everything works fine again.
I have been at this all day and I am at wit's end. My google searches are getting way too long to be of any help. Any pointers or obvious things that I've missed in my caffeine haze would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • [SOLVED] HDMI audio not working (worked in Ubuntu)

    hi there,
I have very new hardware (Intel Core i5 2500, using the internal GPU) and already knew that it would probably take me a while to get everything working (especially the GPU). I first tried Ubuntu 11.04 Alpha with the xorg-edgers ppa, which already supported the new GPU, including 3D acceleration... unfortunately, it made my X server crash about every 15 minutes. Having heard about ArchLinux before I thought I should give it a try. Turned out the packages that I need for my GPU are only available in testing (xf86-video-intel 2.14, Mesa 7.10, Kernel 2.6.37), so I'm running on the testing repository right now. But I gotta say that I'm pretty impressed by ArchLinux, Compiz is working perfectly smooth and the whole system feels way faster than Ubuntu.
Now regarding my problem, I can't get my HDMI audio to work. Usually I would have said to myself "well, ALSA doesn't support it yet, I guess I'm gonna have to wait" . But the reason I'm writing this thread anyway is that it was working fine in Ubuntu 11.04 Alpha. In Ubuntu, I could use the alsa device hdmi:CARD=PCH,DEV=2 for HDMI audio. The strange thing is, this device doesn't exist on my ArchLinux system. Here is my "aplay -L" output.
    null

In Ubuntu, I also had hdmi:CARD=PCH,DEV=1 and hdmi:CARD=PCH,DEV=2. So my question is, why are those missing on my system? Kernel and ALSA are the same version (2.6.37 / 1.0.23)!? I also already downloaded a Daily Snapshot of ALSA and did a ./configure, make, sudo make install - still no luck. And btw, DEV=0 outputs sound through my default speakers...
