Hdmi audio problems on dv6t on Windows 7

I am having a very strange issue when I connect my laptop to my stereo receiver with an HDMI cable.  I use my laptop to watch movies from netflix's websites on my entertainment system.  I connect the laptop to my stereo receiver using an HDMI cable while I am watching movies.  This used to not be a problem.  However, I tried to change some audio settings on my laptop to get dolby digital from the laptop.  I believe I made my changes in the SPDIF (Digital Out via HP Dock) audio device.  Since then, everything has gone awry.  I no longer get audio through my stereo system, but even stranger now, anytime I connect the laptop to the receiver while a netflix movie is playing, my whole wireless network is taken down.  I am at a loss as to why this is happening.  If anyone can help me with this, I would really appreciate it.  Is there anyway to restore my audio defaults so I can get back to how things were?

Have you tried MS System Restore to revert back to a date before you made the settings changes? It is in Start, All Programs,Accesories,System Tools_System Restore.

  • Bootcamp Windows 7 HDMI audio problem

    Hello,
I have problem sound over HDMI with my MBP late 2013 13'' model A1502 on Windows 7 with Bootcamp.
I've installed Windows following Bootcamp wizard from mac and creating bootable WIN7 usb with all support drivers on it. After this I've noticed that there is no sound on my tv when i connect it to my MBP. I've searched a bit more about this problem and I found that the latest graphics drivers might solve this problem so I've updated Intel® Iris™ Graphics 5100 directly from Intel's official web page and after the restart voila I have sound to my TV.
After some time I was configuring my resolutions and I unplugged the HDMI cable and then I put it back again and the sound stopped. At first I was thinking that it is something with the default audio device settings and when I went into the control panel audio settings I've noticed that the HDMI audio device is missing.
I've thinkered a bit and found out that when I unplug the hdmi cable in device manager's "Sound, video and game controllers" the Intel(R) Display Audio is removed from the list but when i put back the HDMI cable it dosent appear in that list. Instead of that in section System devices the High Definition Audio Controller have warning sign and have the following error message: This device cannot start. (Code 10).
You can check it on this image below:
However, when I reboot the MBP with the HDMI from my TV pluged into it it is all OK. So my guess is that it may be some driver service problem or some compatibillity problem with Cirrus Logic CS4208 (AB 93) audio controller. Currently it is working like this but It's very annoying to reboot each time when I wan't to connect it to my TV...
Any suggestions how to fix this problem are welcomed.
    Thanks

reformat and zero your partition or chkdsk
make sure Windows has 15GB or more free space to work with
I have Macs and PCs all runnng 7 and even 8.
Maybe your iMac hard drive or even if SSD is where the fault lies.
boot from Widows DVD and check your system

  • HP Pavilion dv9218tx Notebook PC and HDMI audio problem with Sony TV and Windows 7

Sound does not come through with the HDMI connection and, on investigation, there is no HDMI audio driver/option.
Noting that there seemed to be an issue with windows 7 and HDMI audio which is addressed by updating the BIOS and the connexant sound driver I have done so to no effect.
The Sony TV is recognised as a standard monitor in the devices for graphics but not for audio
Suggestions as to why HDMI does not appear - including as a disabled service - and what to do t get is available?

  • [HELP] G470 HDMI audio problem

Hello guys! I'm currently using Lenovo G470 since 4 years and i discover that my HDMI audio is not working (but display is fine) my ATI is broke since 2 years ago and i'm using the UMA graphics on BIOS. i tried all the steps available on this forum (re-install the OEM chipset and integrated video/audio driver) and it didn't help at all. while investigating on ibmxHDMI folder of OEM driver C:\Drivers\Intel Onboard Graphics Driver\ibxHDMI>ls -a
    . .. IntcDAuC.dll IntcDAud.cat IntcDAud.inf IntcDAud.sysAnd based from Installation_Readme.txt***************************************************************************
    For Intel(R) Display Audio Driver:
    1. Click "Start" then right click on "Computer" button and then click on
    properties.
    2. Click on "Advanced system setting" option and then click on "Continue"
in "user account control" window to goto "system properties" page
    3. Click on "Hardware" Tab, and select "Device Manager"
    button.
    4. Double click on "Intel(R) Display Audio".
    2. Select the "Driver" tab and then click on the "Driver Details" button.
    3. The function driver (intchdmi.sys) version should be listed on this
screen.I should expect intchdmi.sys on exist on ibxHDMI folder. also  OEM Driver: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g470-notebook/downloads/DS011506 [PS: Already checked the playback device and obviously i can't see HDMI output from there]

Some HDMI adapters won't work with the new MacBook Pros if they aren't compliant with the 1.1a version or later of the DisplayPort spec. There are some adapters out there that aren't fully compatible.
I believe you need to have i5 or i7 Macbook Pro for audio feature through mini displayport.
2011 models should have sound with proper adapter but I'm not sure about 2010 models.
    Good luck

  • Audio problem with T61 running windows 7

    hello,
After installing windows 7 Enterprise on my T61, I have no sound.
Driver seems to be installed correctly (Device manager), speakers taskbar icon looks & functioning OK, but i can't hear nothing.
I've installed the suggested Vista driver from Lenovo web site, but the problem remains...
I must mention that there was no problem while using Windows 7 RC, the problem started after installing a clean copy of Win 7 pro.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Eyal.

I've installed win7 over a dozen times on T61 models and never had a problem. Perhaps if you can provide more information, did you reformat your drive before install, or install overtop an existing windows version? If it helps, all my installations are on a freshly formatted partition. Windows installs working drivers on everything except the ricoh card reader, for that you just need to manually install the vista drivers from device manager and it will work. I then run system update and it installs newer drivers for some of the hardware, but like I said, never had an audio problem.

  • HDMI Audio Problems with HPEnvy

    Hi,
When I connect the HDMI port to an Elgato Game Capture Card, there is video, but no audio. Examining the audio options, the HDMI audio driver is not even loaded.
I have the latest drivers, and in fact, when connecting to other devidces (such as a Samsung TV or audio enabled monitor) using the HDMI port, the audio works fine, and the HDMI HD audio driver is available in the audio menus.
I know that some people on other windows 8.1 platforms have been able to do this, but not me.  I would  love a solution.
Currently, I am using the audio from the earphone port, but the sound is less good than I would like, and of course there is an additional rats nest of cables this way.
Thanks so much for any help.
    Best,
    Scott

  • MSI Media Live - HDMI audio problem

[split off from https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=113127.0 - Stu]
Has anyone gotten this to work? I've got mine to where Vista says I have a HDMI Output device installed and set to be the default device, but it just doesn't play any sound at all.
    I've tried:
    - Latest Realtek HD drivers from MSI's website (R1.67)
    - Latest Realtek HD drivers from Realtek's website (R2.21)
    - Latest BIOS update from MSI website (1.63)
    - Enabling 8 Channel option in BIOS
    - Using HDMI cable and TV port that I know already work (using them for my Xbox 360)
    - Was using Vista 64-bit, now using fresh install of Vista 32-bit (was hoping the problem was driver incompatibility with 64-bit, but I guess I was wrong)

Control Panel > Sound > Playback
So you have Realtek HDMI audio enabled and set as default?
Check in Realtek HD Audio Manager, under HDMI tab, that output is not muted.

  • HDMI Audio doesn't work on Windows 10 Tech Preview

I am using a HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j053cl Notebook PC and often plug it directly into my television for streaming video. However, after updating to windows 10 tech preview the HDMI output for audio no longer appears in playback devices, though video is fine. Upon further inspection I found that the device is not starting via device manager, i.e
"This device cannot start. (Code 10)
    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful."
I attempted to reinstall the driver from the support site for windows 8.1, but that had no effect. The driver I installed

Are there any drivers out yet that can bridge the gap from 8.1 to 10?

  • Catalyst & HDMI audio: problem when turning TV off

    Hi everyone,
I've got two PCs with AMD E-350 FPU, one is a laptop running Windows 7 and the other is a nettop running Arch Linux (using Catalyst as a driver for the GPU). On both of them, I'm experiencing a similar problem with sound:
When turning on the computer and the TV, everything works just fine, including sound. However, if I turn off the TV (without disconnecting the HDMI cable) the following happens:
Arch: no sound anymore, even if I turn the TV back on. No visible changes in alsamixer.
Windows: sound through internal speakers. ATI HDMI sound device now shows up as 'Disconnected', even if I turn the TV back on.
Disconnecting the HDMI cable and then inserting it back (while the TV is on again) fixes the problem on both computer, and so does rebooting the computer.
However, even though this seems to not be a Linux-related problem (being etiher a problem with TV's firmware or ATI GPU), I wonder if anyone knows of a more elegant (preferably software, of course ) solution than reconnecting the cable each time I want to turn off my TV and then turn it back on?
Last edited by popoffka (2012-06-01 10:29:36)

I have the same issue in Windows. If I turn-off the TV and turn it back on, there is no sound. Because I have no other sound devices (disabled the others in BIOS setup), the speaker icon shows a red "x". The playback devices screen says HDMI is "unplugged." I have to restart the system or unplug/reconnect the HDMI cord to get sound to come back.

  • Hdmi audio problem

    Hi,
     Newbie here with a question.
I can't get audio anymore from my hdmi input. So I switched to regular rca input and it works, but of course no HD available.
So I'm going to go buy a new hdmi cable, but from problems in the past, I suspect the TV hdmi circuit may have an audio issue.
If that becomes the case, how can I hook up my fios hd dvr to the tv so that I can get HD ?
I know nothing about component video, I see there is a component video output on the fios dvr, and I also have a component input on my tv.
If i hook up cables to those, will I get HD and sound ?
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks Much.
    Floyd

Yes, you can use the component connections for the video, and the audio connections for the sound, and you will receive an HD picture.
I would doubt that the HDMI cable would fail. Before you do anything else, turn off the STB, remove the power plug, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in, turn it on, and see if you get any audio. The Motorola STBs that Verizon use occasionally get themselves kinda confused in a number of areas, and removing the power frequently fixes it (until something gets it confused again...).
If removing the power doesn't work, do you have a second HD TV that you could hook up to the existing STB and cable? If that works it isn't the cable, its the first TV - just trying to make sure the cable is really the culprit. Or of course it could be the STB, in which case you need to contact Verizon for a replacement.
If you wind up needing to get a new HDMI cable, don't go buy one of those over-priced things at places like Best Buy or Circuit City, unless you just have to have it today. Try www.monoprice.com or one of the other web sellers of HDMI cables, you can usually get one for 10% to 25% of the cost at one of the big box stores, and it will work just as well.
And finally, if you hook up the component and sound connections, you may find that you are perfectly satisfied with the results, and decide to just leave it that way. Not everyone agrees that HDMI is better than component, some feel just the opposite.

  • U330 HDMI Audio Problems

I have begun to recently use my hdmi port more and have thus been encountering problems. Before when I had set it up it would display on my tv with audio coming from the tv. Now when I use it, it displays on the tv but no audio works. I have hdmi set as the default audio device like before when it has worked. Any help in getting this sound to work would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • HDMI Audio Problems

I bought my Mac Book Pro back in August of this year and I have had no issues so far with it until now. I am trying to get the audio to play through my hdmi cable that I just bought for my tv, but it won't. All of the options are in the output and HIDI settings for it but whenever I click on those settings it goes right back to the internal speakers. Any help to resolve this issue would be great!

Open your Sound preferences, choose Output tab. See if you have a sound device you need to select.

  • Audio Problems - Playing Sound in Windows

I would like to know if this is a bootcamp bug or a setting: I plug a headset into the internal sound jacks and the audio in Windows XP plays through both the internal sound card and headset. I thought when you plug in a headset its only suppose to play through the headset.
Is this a bootcamp bug or something that can be fixed with a setting in Windows. Thanks!!

Does anyone know a way to make the sound work while using windows XP? Ive tried making a new MAC drivers cd for windows, but that didnt work, I also tried downloading audio drivers and none of them worked either. Is anyone else having the same issues? Oh, i also get a message when i startup windows that my motherboard doesnt support the Intel audio hardware? I'm guessing the message has to be a glitch or somethng because ive heard that other people are able to hear sound while using windows just fine.
    PLEASE HELP!

  • Retina MBP HDMI Audio Problem

I've been using my RMBP with no issues until after installation of OSX 10.8.1, installed on Aug 26th.  Movies played just fine and TV audio worked good through the HDMI cable.  Since the upgrade, I've lost audio from RMBP HDMI connectin to TV, any TV.  Video works just fine, but audio will not connect.  I've tried three TVs and two different HDMI cables, no luck.  TV audio settings are correct.
The TV does show up in the settings/sound/output screen, but when it is highlighted,
"Settings for the selected device: The selected device has no output controls." , is the message I get.
This was NOT the case before I upgraded to 10.8.1.
I tried resetting the PRAM and NVRAM suggestion from Apple support, but that did not work either.
Anyone have any ideas what I should/could try next?
    thanks,
    gpawood

Fixed with 10.8.2............although the first time I plugged the HDMI cable in it didn't work........so I unplugged it and plugged it in again and it did.........it was like it had to learn what a TV was or something.
Still doesn't have any audio controls for the TV though.......which is lame........come on Apple!
