HDMI Cable for Toshiba GigaShot 40

Hi,
I bought Gigashot Camescope, and a new TV with an HDMI port.
The HDMI port of the Camescope Toshiba GigaShot 40 is thiner than cable for my TV.
First: is it a real HDMI port? or an i-Link/Firewire port?
Second: how can I use this Camescope HDMI Port to connect it to my TV on my TV HDMI Port?
Third: where can I buy Options/Accesories for my Toshiba Camescope GigaShot 40?
I'm living in FRANCE.
Thanks, for your attention.
Regards

Hello Dragon2010,
to your questions:
- first: yes it is a real HDMI-port but it is a Mini-HDMI-port.
- second: So you need a "Mini-HDMI to HDMI Cable". Its not included.
- third: you can buy options in electronic stores like "Media Markt" and so on but the best way is around the www.
hope this helps you
best regards

There are only two types of HDMI cables (standard and high speed - listen to all 1.2, 1.3 etc etc nonsense they will try to tell in the store) both types will work with the Apple TV.
The cable may be faulty though, have you got another to try, what exactly is happening.

  • Best HDMI cable for 2009 Macbook?

I've been using this HDMI cable to connect my 13' macbook to my HDTV:
    http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042802 &p_id=5969&seq=1&format=2
It was great for awhile (over a year) but now the cable has stopped working.
Are there any newer/better cables out there that include audio support for an older Macbook (i.e., pre-2010?)?
The nice thing about this cable was that It was an all-in-one and thus not too bulky.

    anyone, anyone??

  • HDMI cable for SX170 si

We got my father-in-law an SX 170 SI camera for Christmas. His TV does not have an SD card reader, however it does have a standard HDMI input. I'd like to obtain an inexpensive HDMI cable so he can view his photos on his flatscreen TV. The connection on the camera is much smaller than the standard HDMI, not sure what size it is. I see lots of HDMI cables micro to HDMI for sale on eBay not sure what I need to look for or ask for. ThankYou

    I have used this one.
It's cheap and great. I prefer to buy from Amazon than Ebay. But you can buy any Mini HDMI to HDMI cable.

  • HT4241 HDMI cables for Macbook 13" duo core 2006

    Hi,
Firstly apologies if this question has been previously answered.  However I have been trawlling the internet for ages trying to find out the correct cables to set up a macbook to an HD tv.  All I want to do is connect two devices but everything I read seems to be about macbook pro 2009 onwards - what about those of us you have older macs?
Sometime ago I was given as a present an iwires mini display to hdmi cable set.  On the box it said suitable for Macbook pre 2010.  My Macbook is a 13" duo core 2006 . Anyway the cable didn't fit and because the package had been opened couldn't get a refund.
Please can anyone in simple terms tell me which HDMI cables I need to connect to the tv so that I get both audio and video.
    many thanks.

The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 model 6,1 and Mid 2010 model 7,1 White Unibody have a Mini DisplayPort. The Early 2006 model 1,1 through Early 2008 model 4,1s plus the Early and Mid 2009 model 5,2s have Mini-DVI ports. Each would take a different adapter to connect with the TV.
You'll need a Mini-DVI to HDMI adapter and a cable from that to your TV. Here's the various types of Mini-DVI adapters on Amazon.com  http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_16?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keyword s=mini+dvi+to+hdmi+adapter&sprefix=mini+dvi+to+hdmi%2Caps%2C264
You'll also need audio cables to the TV using a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio. You attach it from the headphone jack of your MacBook to the appropriate audio input plugs on your TV.
If you connect the MacBook using a Mini-DVI to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo system for audio if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio with the HDMI plug. The Mini-DVI to HDMI doesn't carry audio and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI. Check your TV manual though to see if it might have audio plugs that work with one of the HDMI ports.

The best one is the cheapest you can find in the length you need.  On consumer equipment, there is *NO* difference between a $5 cable and a $150 dollar cable.  There are some that will mumble about gold plated connectors or some mumbo jumbo about shielding (which makes no difference to a digital signal, which is what all HDMI cables are), but it is all smoke and snake oil, designed to liberate as much money form your back account as they can...
Do not be fooled by the hype and the bullsh*t; and get the cheapest cables you can find.  Use the money you save to buy a few good movies, or take your significant other to dinner...
Actually, gold plated connectors are important for corrosion resistance and shielding is critical for all high-bandwidth digital signals.  (I've seen plenty of systems fail EMI testing where I work due to improper shielding.)
However - even the cheapest HDMI cables I've found have gold plated connectors and proper shielding.
So to the original poster:  The best cable for you is the cheapest one that is:
    HDMI High-Speed certified
    Long enough
Things that are nice but not critical:
24AWG wires - the premium cables from my favorite supplier are in this category.  The cheap ones are 28AWG.  (Larger number = thinner wire).  24AWG wires will make the cable more reliable and also more durable, but also less flexible.  The big ripoff artists like Monster won't even tell you this particular specification!  If you are paying more than $10 for a 6-foot 24AWG cable, you are paying too much by the way.
Net/mesh jacket/sheath - provides a little extra protection for the cable and looks nice too.  Still, again - don't pay more than $10 for a 6-foot cable or you're getting ripped off.

  • How do i get my surround sound to work with my laptop while using a hdmi cable for the video

I have a Sony surround sound  system hooked up that works great. My X-Box 360 works with it and I can get my HP G60 to play audio files through the surround sound system with a red and white audio jack plugged into the back of my surround sound receiver, the red and white audio cord goes to a 3.5mm headphone jack that i plug into the headphone plug on the front of my computer. The problem occurs when I hook my HDMI cable into my computer and connect it to my Samsung Flat screen, the HDMI sound takes over and wont allow the sound to go through the headphone jack. My tv does not have any audio output plugs, and my suround sound reciever doesnt have an HDMI input. Is there a setting on the computer that will allow me to over ride the HDMI sound and direct the sound through the head phones? or is there an app or tool that will allow my laptop to recognize my suround sound system plugged into my laptop? I have been to best buy, walmart, radio shack and even my local car audio store to ask about this issue and everyone has a different solution, and so far none of them have worked???????? sincerley frustrated! please help!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    Hello JaeRoc48,
I understand that the sound is not working.
    Go to start.
    Type Sound.
    Select sound.
    Select speakers as default.
    Click OK.
Let me know how everything goes.

Seems like many people are experiencing problems with connecting to a tv via mdp-hdmi adapter. I have the same problem connecting my newly bought macbook air to my 4 year old samsung 32 inch. Both screens goes blue and blinks. My mac recognise my tv though, it says samsung when I go to the screenmenu to change resolution.
I have tried two different adapters, the moshi adapter which Apple recommends and another one. Im experiencing the same problem with both.
I´ve kinda concluded that it has to be a software problem since my mac has started to act strangely after I tried making it work for 20 minutes.
    Apple please fix -.-

Google Chromecast can be used on your Ellipsis 7 (updated to KitKat) to view video and music on your HDTV. Unfortunately, HDMI cables are not compatible.

  • Best HDMI Cable to use for Thinkpad laptop

The display port is found in Lenovo laptops. If you want to convert to HDMI, you have to use an adapter. The approved adapter is the SIIG displayport to HDMI adapter according to this link.
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/No-audio-output-via-DP-gt-HDMI-converter-aft...
The next step is to connect the adapter to your monitor or TV using an HDMI cable.
HDMI can cost from around $10 to $100 depending on the brand.
On searching for HDMI cable, I noticed that there are several HDMI versions according to this site...
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Version_comparison
    They are versions 1.0 , 1.1, 1.2, 1.2a, 1.3, 1.3a, 1.3b, 1.3c, 1.4, 1.4a
It was mentioned "Note that with the release of the version 1.4 cable, the HDMI Licensing LLC group (which oversees the HDMI standard) will require that any reference to version numbers be removed from all advertising from the cable only"
I guess 1.4a is the best one.???
    In line with this...
What to look for in choosing the best HDMI cable to use so as to get the highest picture quality and audio clarity?
(And at the same time not overkill and cost $100+)

The best adapter and cable is probably the cheapest one (unless you need one that is like 50 feet long, then you'd need a slightly more expensive one).  Go to monoprice.com and buy an HDMI cable for $5, I've bought several from there, and plan to get some adapters and cables for my W520 soon.
    eg.
    adapter: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042803&p_id=5714&seq=1&for...

But they have several adapters and a million HDMI cables so look around a bit.
